Family / Re: Is There Any Advantage Of Being Poor? by Mbkite(m): 8:42pm On Feb 20, 2016
ronald4lif:
Can't figure out any advantage of being poor. It's the worse thing that can happen to anyone. Would rather live for 5years stupendously rich than 50years in abject poverty.

Like someone had already said poverty has a way of mangling one's thought process and make them act like a dummy. It has the potency to lacerate one's ability to reason properly and would so limit and oscillate their thoughts into the direction of more misery and wretchedness.

No advantage whatsoever can be associated with poverty.

LOL @5years being rich better than 50years in abject poverty. U have a point!

One certain thing I know. Less worries. Have you ever experienced sudden change of level which should have given you a huge respite from poverty but you discovered you now have more things to worry about.

When you're poor you obviously take life as it comes, consequently, you do only things as its available. Hence, nothing much to ponder about. Have some change and you start thinking about how "best" to achieve some things, meanwhile there would be 1008 ways to achieve that same thing.

For instance, when you're poor, you take your wards to the only affordable school. When you're rich, you'd not only sweat to look for a "suitable" schools (even though they're in abundance) but would invest time and, sometimes, resources into doing background checks and researches on even the A-class colleges you have in mind. You know how many times some people have changed their "maiguard" even after investing in several breeds of guard dogs, yet you'd see a commoner sleeping effortlessly outside his shack, waking up the next day all-dazzling. Have you ever being caught in fuel scarcity with your vehicle, do you know how it could cripple many of your programs? Meanwhile, that so called poor person has already achieved all he needed while you're still struggling. Same goes for all activities involved in the sojourn to self-fulilment for the riches. Basically, I would say poor people somehow have rest of mind than the well-to-dos (not proven though).

However, nothing beats having that dough.
wow! In all poverty has no known advantage.

@Mbikte,
What a funny question.
Funny enough there mght be some advantages.
Some people are alive just because they are poor. Give them money and they use it to pursue what will kill them.
With their weak characters it is better for them to stay poor until they build good character that can help them manage success.
Lol, i never thought about it in this line. Nice point!

I was taught back then in High school that anything that has advantage also has disadvantage.
My question is - what are the advantages of being poor?

Everybody can be wrong, bt it's only in rare cases.

As much as i want to encourage you to be happy, i must advice you to thread with wisdom, refrain from making the decision for a future with emotions, it must not be hinged on the amount of love you have for her alone or just because she makes you happy, people fall out of love in marriage..#fact; that is when other variables deemed inconsequential help in rebuilding the lost love and help keep the marriage. This is applicable to every relationship and not just relationships with a divorcee either with kids or not.

Can you step-parent? there are no assurances for step-parents, the law does not recognize step-parents thus whatever investment (emotional, financial and moral) you are going to build with the daughter is hinged on mere hope that it is reciprocated with acceptance, mutual love and respect.

Have you and your wife to be discussed the expectations with regards to the daughter? it might seem irrelevant now but i can assure you if not addressed now it would rear its ugly head soon. i am a firm believer that when you get married to your partner, you are married to their baggage vice versa.

what is the relationship of the biological father with the child? how much influence does he exert in her life? how old is the child? if she is old enough, have you had a conversation with the daughter? explain that you are not here to replace her biological father, daughters are especially close to their biological father and become sensitive when another man comes.

Why is she divorced? did she tell you everything that happened? i mean everything and not sounding like a victim, people who sound victimized never heal and are hard to please cos they rarely move on from the past..this is also applicable to yourself.

Divorcees with children are also human and deserve another shot at marriage.

I wish you all the best bro and would be praying that you succeed.
Thanx alot

The Court has decided to stand down the other Appeals and has ordered a break. We will resume by 5.30pm to hear the Appeals by PDP, INEC & possibly the Cross-Appeal by Otti if it is later revisited and the regularization sought is allowed. Till 5.30pm then; but this is an opportunity to go refill your pop-corn & get more iced Coke; the real drama is coming. JUDGMENT IS TODAY cheesy cool grin
you're doing a great job bro. Keep it up!
