Jobs/Vacancies / Buhari Committee To Assist Nigeria Immigration Service In The Replacement Scheme by MEDOLAB: 3:35pm On Jun 27, 2015
The Buhari committee to assist Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) in the upcoming Replacement Scheme, after a briefly meeting yesterday at the Presidential Hall, has explained to Mr. President, the CG of the Nigeria Immigration Service and other members of the panel committee on the procedures to be taken on the upcoming NIS Replacement Scheme.

The Chairman of the Committee Mr. Alihu Suleiman on this speech stated that never before has Nigeria in any Para-military section conduct a double recruitment on the same year, regarding to this, he went further to explain what the consequence and problem it will bring if double recruitment is to be permitted.

On this conclusion, he made an open point that the upcoming Replacement will be based on appointment using the recently conducted NIS registration applications and qualification requirement, also stating that the Replacement selection would be based on the applicants educational qualification, NIS 2015 recruitment examination performance(1st/2nd Stage) and LGA Slot appointment.

The Comptroller General of the Nigeria Immigration Service supported it by saying that since it is a replacement and not recruitment, that the idea for a double recruitment is bad and may cause issues to the organization. He also said that it has not been long the NIS conducted a general recruitment, all of the applicants has the NIS registration numbers, file numbers and the NIS reference code, instead of a double recruitment exercise, that he supports the selection based on appointment using the applicants educational qualification, NIS 2015 recruitment examination performance (1st/2nd Stage) and LGA Slot appointment.

He continued, many NIS Officers in all the NIS State Commands are due for retirement/replacement, noting that the number of the officers to be retired/replaced may amount up to 5,000 or above in all the 36 States. Therefore, he advised that all the 2015 applicants should keep their NIS application documents safe and ready as it is going to be required for the NIS Replacement Selection/Appointment as the date for the replacement registration will be made known to the public in due time.

The President has agreed on the above procedure and has permitted the NIS to carry on based on the NIS Replacement Appointment in all the 36 State Commands. Also he urges the general public of Nigeria to obey to the rules and regulation of the replacement scheme and to report to the heading committee of any issues about the appointment.

Dates and procedures for registration will be announced in due time as the NIS is making all necessary arrangement for free and fair selection/appointment.

Signed

Just do your best to prepare. You can make it.
You will be asked about Maintenance (definition, types), types of Electric Motors, parts/components of a Generator, types of Bearings & their differences, Resistance, Conductivity, Conductance, Reluctance, etc.
It doesn't matter if you are EEE or MEC, the questions just keep flowing.
Not generalising though, maybe that was how mine went. Can't really say how others fared.

Career / In 1923, The Wealthiest People In The World What Happened To Them After 25 Years by MEDOLAB: 7:38am On May 10, 2015
MONEY BY ALL MEANS NECESSARY? WHAT A MISERABLE LIFE AFTERALL!: BY FOLA OJO

In 1923, nine of the wealthiest people in the world met at Chicago’s Edge Water Beach Hotel. Their combined wealth, it is estimated, exceeded the wealth of the Government of the United States at that time. These men certainly knew how to make a living and accumulate wealth. Attending the meeting were the following men:
1. The president of the largest steel company;
2. The president of the largest utility company;
3. The president of the largest gas company;
4. The president of the New York Stock Exchange;
5. The president of the Bank of International Settlements;
6. The greatest Wheat Speculator;
7. The greatest “bear” on Wall Street;
8. The head of the World’s greatest monopoly, and
9. A member of President Harding’s cabinet.
That’s a pretty impressive line-up of people by anyone’s yardstick. Yet, 25 years later, where were those nine industrial giants?
Let’s examine what happened to them 25 years later:
1. The president of the then largest steel company (Bethlehem Steel Corp), Charles M Schwab, lived on borrowed capital for five years before he died bankrupt;
2. The president of the then largest gas company, Howard Hubson, went insane;
3. One of the greatest commodity traders (Wheat Speculator), Arthur Cutten, died insolvent;
4. Then president of the New York Stock Exchange, Richard Whitney, was sent to jail;
5. The member of US President Harding’s cabinet, Albert Fall, was pardoned from jail just to be able to go home and die in peace;
6. The greatest “bear” on Wall Street, Jesse Livermore committed suicide;
7. The president of the then world’s greatest monopoly, Ivar Krueger, also killed himself;
8. The president of the Bank of International Settlement, Leon Fraser, equally took his own life;
9. The president of the largest utility company, Samuel Insull, died penniless.
What those people forgot was how to “make life” while they got busy making money! Money in itself is not evil; it provides food for the hungry, medicine for the sick, clothes for the needy. However, money is only a medium of exchange. We need two kinds of education: One that teaches us how to make a living and another that teaches us how to live. There are many of us who are so engrossed in our professional life that we neglect our family, health and social responsibilities. If asked why we do this, we would reply that “we are doing it for our family”. Yet, our kids are sleeping when we leave home. And they are sleeping when we come back home! Twenty years later, we’ll turn back, and they’ll all be gone, to pursue their own dreams and their own lives.
Without water, a ship cannot move. But if the water gets into the ship, the ship will face disaster. What was once productive for the ship now becomes destructive. Similarly, we live in a time where earning is a necessity but let it not enter our hearts, so that what was once a means of living may not become a means of destruction for us as well.
So take a moment and ask yourself: “Has the water entered my ship?”

reading the instruction is a pertinent instrument to examination success. those ones discussing about one correct answer to the comprehension are obviously getting it wrong, because dragnet exams are always about picking two answers as the correct answers in the comprehension passage. My advice is that you should always read the instruction well before proceeding.

Politics / Wikipedia Updated Orubebe's Profile by MEDOLAB: 6:03pm On Apr 01, 2015
On the Tuesday, 31st of March, 2015, Orubebe,
acting as a polling agent for the People's
Democratic Party, made attempts at disrupting
the proceedings of the 2015 presidential election
collation. Orubebe, a former Minister of the Niger
Delta Affairs, alleged that INEC Chairman, Prof.
Attahiru Jega, had taken side with the All
Progressives Congress (APC).
On top of his voice, at the venue of the results
presentation, Orubebe shouted; “You sent a
committee to Rivers to probe what happened
there. We submitted petitions to you about Kano,
Jigawa, Katsina but you have not done anything
about our complaints. You cannot continue with
these results; we will not take it.” [5]
As Jega attempted to go on, Orubebe shouted,
“Mr. Jega, You cannot continue, go to your
office. You are partial. We don’t have any
confidence in you. We will not allow this. You
cannot continue. You must stop the results. [6]
His political party, the PDP, subsequently
dissociated itself from his actions. he
subsequently on the same day apologised to
Nigerians especially to the younger generation
over his infamous conduct by tendering
unreserved apology urging them not to follow in
his footsteps and explaining that he regretted his
action. He also claimed that his action was
sequel to the failure of Jega to treat the petition
of the PDP over some results in the North.
“That is why I anchored the ceasefire that is
now being enjoyed in the South South region. I
earnestly beg to be forgiven, in spite of the
embarrassment caused to our dear people. I am
indeed sorry , I was only pushed to the wall .

Politics / Full Text Of Muhammadu Buhari's Message Tonigerians This Morning by MEDOLAB: 4:05pm On Jan 06, 2015
Full text of Muhammadu Buhari's message to
Nigerians this morning: "Let us talk, Nigerian to
Nigerian."
As we enter a year, let us talk - Nigerian to
Nigerian.
Many of you believe that something is wrong with
Nigeria. Many of you have given up. Some of you
think this country can never be good; can never
get better. And so you forgive politicians for
stealing and for mediocrity – because you say to
yourselves, they are all thieves, they are all selfish
and nothing will change.
But is that really true?
It is not.
Many people ask me: why am I running for office
again?
And I ask them – what has changed since I began
this mission? Can you honestly, truly say to
yourself that our country has changed for the
better? Are our children safe when they go to
school? Are our parents safe when we leave them
at home? Is the naira in your bank account of
greater value today than it was four years ago?
People accuse me of many things. But one thing
they never accuse me of is corruption. They never
accuse me of mediocrity. They never accuse me
of lying.
I have led this country and I have a record. We
were not perfect, but we were effective, and we
solved problems, and we made Nigerians proud to
be Nigerians.
In our government, we fought corruption, we
stabilised the naira, and we shut down
insurgencies. We shouldn't forget so soon that
there was Maitatsine ravaging the northeast and
we dealt with it; we also over ran the Chadian
rebels that invaded Nigeria. In our government we
rebuilt industries.
Nigerians queued up and treated each other with
respect; Nigerians took pride in our reputation for
discipline. The world admired us. We were proud
to be Nigerians.
Because they can't attack my record, they accuse
me of ethnic jingoism; they accuse me falsely of
religious fundamentalism. Because they cannot
attack our record, they accuse us falsely of
calling for election violence - when we have only
insisted on peace. And yet I was Head of State of
this country and of course we never imposed
Sha’riah. All my vice-presidential candidates have
been either Igbo or Yoruba, and always Christian. I
have and will continue to condemn those who
burn God's places of worship, be they churches or
mosques and wish God's judgment upon them. As
your President, their punishment won't stop there
- we will also ensure such elements are found, are
arrested and face the full wrath of the law as
punishment for their crimes against our country.
So don’t let anyone attempt to blind you with fear
so they can continue to plunder our nation’s
resources, and to keep you away from the wealth
that they share.
How can 219 girls be missing in our country, and
our leader appears incapable of action? How can
12 young people die because they were looking for
jobs in Abuja and justice is not met? How can so
many corruption scandals remain unsolved?
How can we allow the cowards of Boko Haram
take over any part of this country - a sovereign
state?
What is going on here? In this our country? In a
country that belongs to all of us?
This is very important to note: It doesn’t matter if
you are Igbo, Yoruba, Ijaw, Hausa, Idoma, Efik,
Ekwere, Urhobo Igala: neither does it matter if you
are Christian, Muslim, animist or atheist: we need
a new direction under a new leadership.
This is why I am running for the office of the
president of Nigeria.
This is my promise: We will work hard and fast for
you. Our children will go to school and they will
return safe. Corruption will be a thing of the past
and we will ensure that wealth goes around
citizens in an equitable manner. Government will
conduct itself in a disciplined and responsible
manner; we will identify problems and fix them.
The task ahead will be challenging and daunting
but it is surmountable. That is what leadership is
about.
My only desire is to prove to you that Nigeria can
truly work. Allow me prove to you that in your
lifetime, you and your children can be proud of
this country.
Change is inevitable. The road to change however
comes if we all go out on February the 14 to vote
for the APC (All Progressives Congress) as the
instrument of change.
Let me make you this promise today. We will
protect your children. We will protect your wealth.
We will make this country work again, for
everyone.
My name is Muhammadu Buhari.
Vote APC. Vote Muhammadu Buhari.
God bless you all. God keep us strong.
Politics / Nigerian Army Has Buhari’s Academic Records,but He Needs To Apply by MEDOLAB: 8:03am On Jan 04, 2015
The director of public relations of the Nigerian
Army, Brigadier Olaleye Lajide, has dismissed
reports in the Nigerian media claiming that the
army could not find academic records of General
Muhammadu Buhari (ret.), the presidential
candidate of the All Progressives Congress
(APC). Brigadier Lajide described the reports as
false.

The military spokesman made the disclosure
while responding to a text message from
SaharaReporters seeking clarification about the
status of Mr. Buhari’s records. Brigadier Lajide
affirmed that the Nigerian Army is in possession
of all records of serving, retired and deceased
officers since its inception. He added, however,
that all military officers are supposed to keep
original copies of their certificates.
According to him, in the event where an officer
loses his or her original copy of records, the
concerned officer must officially apply for copies
from the army. He stated that the army
responds to such requests in an expeditious
manner.
Brigadier Lajide told our correspondent that he
was a former director of records at the Nigerian
Army headquarters and had seen records of
older and retired generals. He added that he was
in no doubt that General Buhari’s records were
intact.
Brigadier Olaleye insisted that the claim in a
major Nigerian newspaper, that the army could
not locate Mr. Buhari’s record was untrue.
