Food / Re: Some Nigerian States, And Their Special Foods -- Fun Thread by mikaeli01: 1:48pm On Jun 19
Oga, you try small but when you got to Yorùbá foods you messed it up.
First, how did Gbegiri and Ewédú become Ekiti sauce or soup? If you associate them to Ekiti what will you give the people of Oyo state?
Second. Òndó state, ẹwà aganyi, Edo state, Black soup. Op, small small now grin. I have live those those state so I know there are mixed up in your compilation.
Òndó people cherish black soup and pupuru more than any food. If you doubt me enter Ondo state and travel around from Ondo town to Ọree, Ikalẹ etc

Family / Re: My Husband Is Not The Same Man I Married. by mikaeli01: 5:42pm On Aug 14, 2023
When I read through your comment I wondered if you think people who earn a honest small income should marry at all.
Bride price shouldn't be too rigid as happiness and a working home for the two is what is paramount not any price that end in the bride family. I blame the husband, he should have maintained his stance on what he can afford based on his earnings. If the family refused his honest submission then the bride go look for someone else who is capable and he look for another lady whose family do not place too much importance on material and monetary price but rather good and happy home for their daughter.
I love my woman does not mean that I should overstretched myself for a one day event. The event of that single day called ceremony does not in anyway indicate true love or how it's going to be after.
Crime / Re: Ekiti Police “Mistakenly” Invade Apartment, Cause Havoc To Victims by mikaeli01: 4:32pm On Dec 04, 2022
Are you justifying this nonsense with your comment, did Nigerian police do what police in other countries always do whenever such happens? Even if you are a police, which is obvious your comment show you are a bad cop.
happney65:

It happens every where. Even in the US. Lots and lots of cases abroad with Police invading wrong residences to make arrest even at times leading to unfortunate deaths. We know we get problem, but no be everything be say na Nigeria worst pass.

Properties / Re: Having Issues With My Landlady, I Need Your Honest Advise by mikaeli01: 10:28am On Dec 15, 2021
I seldom make comment on nairaland but I think I should contribute to this one.
In Yoruba language there is a saying that "ejo laa ko, enikan ki ko 'ja" this translates to one learn to argue not to fight. From what you post, one can see you don't know how to argue a dispute hence your ordeal with your landlady.
I will point out valid argument to you now.
1. The well was locked for a whole day.
Did she or her son or whoever locked the well give prior notice to this effect or reason to all occupant of the building for doing so when that is the only source used by everybody in that house
2. They mention pollution as the reason why the well was locked.
Why are they telling the police and not the occupant of the building that they locked the well because of
pollution. The wise thing expected of them is to tell everybody living in that house is that they observe there is a particular polutant in the well if any, and the action they are taken to clear it.
2. They are using the well themselves.
You said you have the video of them using the well while they refuse to open it for general use of all the occupant of the building. The video is an evidence against them.
3. She is demanding for N50,000 for treatment of the bite you gave her while defending yourself from her assaults. Haba, you are not a dog now, hence you don't carry rabies in you mouth.
Table this before a competent lawyer and watch how everybody will be laughing at her and her sons at the end of court hearing but you must be able to make your argument properly, precise and in order.
If you don't want to go to Court just let your dad or yourself get a senior police officer or a good lawyer, invite her to the station and settle everything there. They will still ask why did you attack her? Your answer should be that is the only thing to do to get yourself out of her grip and assault.

Politics / Re: Atiku’s Adama Beverages Company Reverses Sack Of Protesting Staff by mikaeli01: 8:05am On Aug 28, 2020
Queenlovely, as true as your Nigerian workers attitude work may sound it does not generalise every Nigerian workers.
When taking any job, the exact work to be done needs definition. Imagine it yourself the description of an Indian gateman you gave.
I support working for the earned not slavery.
Queenlovely:
My people the only serious workers we have in Nigeria are these hausa boys in construction business, they can build the Burj khalifa overnight, if you have an cash.

generally Nigeria have a bad attitude towards work, let's tell ourselves the truth. they complain a lot, no wonder they love that Timaya song, I can't kill myself.

they want soft work, with big money without stress. I went to my site at Dei dei Abuja to supervise. these construction workers were busy sleeping, those working were pretending to work. it was that old Soviet joke

"We pretend to work, and they pretend to pay us,

that's why they import foreigners to supervise Nigerians, they complain the bosses are cruel, go to the Bangladesh garment factory and see cruel bosses, go to the Emirates and see. bad bosses,

I don't like Nigerian workers. I pay them by the hour, it motivates them to work, for Mason's, counting makes work faster, pay according to the productivity level.

in India, a gateman will double as a cook, a barber, a nanny, an errand boy, a driver all in one. but in Nigeria gate man dey form big boy to even sweep compound, he will say "how much are they paying me? '

Education / Re: Amotekun Is Cheetah Not Leopard by mikaeli01: 1:26am On Jan 19, 2020
I've been reading so many things some people wrote to try to correct but make errors themselves. It's not thier fault but rather than blame them I commend them, they are trying to show they know something about their race and culture.
I will simply ask for the name of an animal that is called "Idagiri". If you know it then problem solved.
The name Ekun is a general name used to refer the spotted and stripped big cats family such cheetah and leopard commonest in Africa.
The professionals who name the animals are local hunters who categorised them based on their look, ability and behaviour.
If you are in doubt about my what I put up here clear your doubt by interviewing as many Yoruba hunters as possible from different states with the picture of a leopard and cheetah then show them any other stripped cat such as tiger, lynx, jaguar, etc and record what name is called each one.
GemUnique:
.
In the process of you tryna correct, there are errors
Owawa isn't cheetah (I suspect you got that info form Yorubablog)
Owawa (I don't know the English name, but certainly not Cheetah) is not even close to big cat family
not too small animal, has white furs that run from its back to tail, makes its sound at night.
You can ask a Yoruba Hunter if you wanna know more about it.
Tiger can't possibly have a Yoruba name as it's not found here in Nigeria.
What I think is Ekun and Ogidan are just Yoruba Adjectives which by time are used to qualify the Animal (Tiger) due to it's courage and Size

Religion / Re: Another Catholic Priest And Vice Chancellor Blasts MFM Pastor Christmas Post. by mikaeli01: 12:14am On Jan 03, 2020
Reason why some of these pastors thrive is because they impose their own imaginations on thier followers and at the same time brainwash them to believe same. Biblical facts are merely literarilly interpreted to back up their claims and misinterpretations. Their followers too are lazy to study history thereby believe whatever their daddy or mummy in the lord tell them.
I still ask a question "are the early Christians not worthy people before the arrival of all these 'new generation' churches"?
If you want to have a good laugh, Google the original names of each day of the week, how and why they got their present day names then ask some pastors at random the same question. You will be surprised how most of them will twist the answers, some will delay the answer to consult google grin while few will be honest with the answers they'll give you.

Education / Re: Sex For Grades: BBC To Air Documentary About Nigerian Lecturers by mikaeli01: 11:59pm On Oct 06, 2019
It's long overdue. There are countless of stories like this unheard. I have been saying it that most females who graduated with high scores from higher institutions in Nigeria have less in there brain compared to what their certificate says. The same goes for some male who paid through thier academic years for marks. Reason why private university students excel.
Sex for mark is the first version. Am waiting for second version which is cash for marks.
Truth is "our academic institutions in Nigeria is the foundation of corruption" if anybody doubt me, such person should take his or her time to check what is happening in public primary and secondary schools.
There are no bad students, only bad teachers.
Anybody who not comfortable with it should simply watch their darling channels TV. It's not by force to watch BBC.

Business / Re: Dynamics Intelligence Shuts Operations In Nigeria by mikaeli01: 12:38am On Aug 24, 2019
[Only a thief can track the footstep of another thief on a rock] grin

This is the reality in Nigeria.

All Nigerians working in top multinationals companies in Nigeria are stealing millions from the companies they are working with.

Especially the account departments, procurement departments, purchasing departments, and logistics departments.

Nigerians are so wicked.

This is why many companies shutdown in Nigeria.

They steal from the companies they are working with to live stupid exorbitant lifestyles.

You will see an ordinary company manager or bank manager or supervisor keeping 20 concubines he is training in school, some going on foreign vacation all paid by him, some build houses and buy cars for uncountable women they are sleeping with, how are all these moneys coming about, from their salary and allowances Is the company their company for them to afford such luxury lifestyles

From President to Senators to Governors to Ministers to Permanent Secretaries to Directors of Ministries to LGA Chairmen to company MDs to Managers to supervisors to drivers to cleaners are all stealing!

All of you working for various companies reading this you know what I am saying, you know how you guys are stealing the organizations u are working for.

Majority or Nigerian Bankers are all thieves, all of them! They connive with fraudsters, they steal from banks, they do shady deals, they cut corners, they steal money belonging to dead people! Majority of Nigerian bankers in positions of authority or have power to approve certain banking activities and operations are criminals, all of them!!!

The only companies surviving in Nigeria are those into oil and gas exploration and FMCGs that are making huge profits to offset the massive stealings by their staffs, if not most or all of them would have shutdown!

Nigerians need total change, all Nigerians are now agents of corruption waiting for opportunity to steal and call it hustling, some call it window, fools!! angry

Make me President and I will jail almost all Nigerians that have occupied any major post.

Criminals!!

Even my upcoming company I laboured to build to the small level it is now, my stupid employees are stealing from me.

I will soon go India go bring juju for una, wicked Nigerians!!

Some people can be very funny. Tell us the achievement in a natural occurrence, you even think its a blessing. If it falls three times straight within a week you will kneel down and beg to take it away. Imagine half a kilo with all its full speed from the sky hit your head, your car screen even house roofs are not safe.
For your information it happened in other part of Nigeria too. I have experience it in Ibadan, Orita Challenge to be precise and odo-otu in Ondo. When I experience it in Ondo, nobody dare move anywhere until the rain stop.

Truth be told, uniform personnel are the artists of thier own fate especially here in this country. This is not limited to security personnel alone, it cut across other uniform professions as well. Do you know as noble and beautiful a nursing profession is there exist innumerable number of nurses that are single and searching yet, they don't hold a gun or a baton in their hands. If you frequent the social media often or go out and mingle with civilians, you will hear stories of how uniform personnels treat fellow human beings like they don't care if they die for offences that could be passed off with a warning or at most let relevant authority like the police take care.
Everything you wrote about military women are true. They are human as well and I will love to have one as a wife but the day she use her military power on anyone except in the case of violence, or create unnecessary fear around my people near me, ignoring several warnings or plea as the case may be, she should prepare for divorce. I can't marry a woman who don't listen.
My advice, relate well with people, they will relate well with you yet take your stance when need be.
