Hello all, I have a little problem with my sbs 2003 server, i suppose it got infected with a virus and hence i can't access any administrative functions on the machine. I tried accessing mmc to probably re install the settings but mmc too does not open. Does anyone have any clues to how i can fix this without formating the system. It has also refused backups for over 3 weeks now, so i can't even attempt to format cos it's a company crucial server. Please help me out! |

Website phishing or key logger in action. You probably loged in at a public computer terminal, like a cyber cafe. If I can remember, yahoo does not allow for a change of the DOB so you could utilize that avenue. |

create a peer to peer network on any of the laptops, method depends on the OS you are running. configure an ip address between the two systems, share your printer on the system hosting it and kapish! you are done. Remember to disable all firewalls. 017330538 for issues! |

lynxnoon:Not if you have up to two wireless cards on your laptop, the laptop could act as a router. From the xp system, go to network connection and right click on the internet connection you want to share click on properties and click sharing. Check the sharing box and it informs you that the card to which you shared will take an ip address of 192.168.0.1 agree and click OK to continue. If you have an anti virus like bit defender, under the firewall rule, enable internet connection sharing and from your card, disable the firewall on the LAN or WLAN depending on the one that will be connected locally. Hope you understand? 017330538 for issues. |

so sure MS do not wanna hear a single complaint from any one Mustay:You really can't blame starcomms, they do not develop the software for their data cards. So untill Aircardtm does something about drivers or come out with a new hardware, we should just look for supporting drivers, just like I have done. |

Nigerians and cracks, I thought the key is free on their site? Pick it up there and stop cracking. Windows 7 is the bomb, i hope it remains that way or better. I installed the RC this month and since, it's been serving a great deal. Far better than VISTA. Internet speed @115 from MTN? That's dead fast. |

looks like some people dont read through their thread before replying it. The guy said he has done factory restore and you are asking him to format, @poster, verify the internet connection on another available pc to be sure that the connection is even working. that your laptop does not load a page is not a function of the laptop hadware. since the system has connected you and has obtained an ip address, then it's between you and your isp for now, till you can explore other clues and you may like to check out the like from this poster oyb: |

whats that supposed to be. if u want to open a cybercafe for business, do if its for free browsing lets know. for dopc, the fluctuate like nepa or sorry, phcn, like their other colleagues in the market, but that's not the issue, the issue is their poor customer service, so if u can live with that, all the best |

hi, i really hope my reply is not coming in late. No 1. why would i browse in a cafe when i know that i would be leaving with frustration. what I'm trying to say here is that the bandwidth speed should be comfortable enough to accommodate the number of systems you have. I have a philosophy, if there is a very fast internet access somewhere, people can come from very far distances to access the net in such locations and also, by the time i can watch a film online (for example) without it buffering for long, and all the time, i would watch a whole transporter 3 and i would still be looking for more to watch, downloaders would occupy your cafe and download till heaven knows when. now don't add the fact that you would air condition the place and put comfortable sitting arrangements and chairs, the psychology is this, give me a chair that is comfortable, fast internet access, and a cool environment that has cool music playing on the background and proper lightning (Abraham maslow's law), make it look very official and standard, neatness also, cannot be over emphasised, then add the other comments from the others, it'll work tight, i tell you. Nigerians like class, and when they want to pay for it, they are ready to pay good for it, as long as they get good value for money. I know Abuja very well and i tell you, you will pack the money in ghana must go bags. If the funds are there you can use wimax, and give out wireless services, there is this radio, last time i checked in the states, it cost $4000. it covers about 1 or 2 km or so and very effective. Infact it was deployed here and thats what im using to browse. im about 700m form the ap. that would take care of you sit at home customers and if you give them at a rate comparable with starcomms and co, who no like beta thing. i hope this helps, if you need more info, you can reach me on 08024981478. |

Ibukunjah:nicely said, check inside you, i believe we have the Hardware software as two major brances in IT hardware may be broken into Networking, system maintainance, , software would cover programming, webdevelopment, system configurations and nework configs. these are still very broad, so make a choice. I am into networking, hardware and i do alot of configs like exchange server, windows server, wireless configuration, vsat just to name a few.Its all a mater of interest and choice. and for you flexy123: ur wrong cos the programmers and developers are having a nice time smiling to the bank |

na2day?: i second you. The best security is to ensure that you do not check sensitive information in public links, like the hotels and cybercafes. these software keyloggers are so less dependent on the operating system like the hard ware key loggers. No matter how har you check you may not find them, and of course you cannot expect all cyber cafes to install deepfreeze. caution is the answer. |
