Religion / Re: Abel Damina Didn’t Ordain Dr Paul Enenche Into Ministry - Paul Odola Opens Up by MisterBanny(m): 3:02pm On Jul 28
Maobichek:

Good afternoon, i don't talk about Ministers of God but i met Apt Odola at Bauchi in 2011, i met Pst Paul at his Area 1 Church in 2013 and i was present during the official opening of Glory Dome. I met Dr Damina via KLN in 2006/7.

Most of these Ministers followed Dr Damina, i saw most of them listened to him in his programs.

The problem is that Dr Damina who have been preaching prosperity and Tithe change and started telling the whole world that Tithe is not compulsory hence people should stop paying Tithe.

We all believe that Christ paid our debts hence to me, Tithe is a service to help the work of God and not a "MUST," thank you.

LandMann:

There's no how the 60,000 the young man is offering to pay won't cover 3-5 months which can give the young man enough time to work and pay the rest. But the greedy landlord is hellbent on collecting a full year rent as if he's not aware that everybody is struggling to survive in Nigeria due to high cost of food and transportation and other basic needs.

There's no justification for what the landlord is doing.

In fact what the landlord is doing is illegal.

In UK, US, Australia, Canada and Germany rent is paid monthly. These are developed countries with low unemployment and better minimum wage.

Come to Nigeria, the shithole and blackspot of africa where corruption thrives, you'll see greedy landlords charging rents ANNUALLY.

You're asking people to pay rent ahead for accomodation services they haven't enjoyed. What is the rational if not greed and a desire to enslave people?

In today's Nigeria where inflation has rendered people's savings useless, where unemployment is very high which companies take advantage of to pay poor salaries, you will gather mind under whatever guise of securing your investment to inflict pain on your fellow countrymen by charging annual rent for accomodation....

Ever wondered why crime rate is so high in Nigeria?

You that is talking nonsense to defend the lawless and wicked landlord, you may just be the victim of the young man's frustration.

He can just wear a hood over his face and block you in a dark alley to collect your phone and any other valuable he can sell to meet up with the payment.

Perhaps you will try to be a hero and you'll end up getting shot or stabbed multiple times and left in a pool of blood.

It may not be you. It could be your own brother or sister or relative that falls victim to this young man's frustration.

Let's all be guided in assessing public issues and stop thinking like greedy and wicked capitalists that are always driven by self-interest.

Thanks for your comment. Nairaland is really toxic.

Reminderz:
I know this might sound harsh, but try to put yourself in your landlord's shoes. Your landlord also has needs and you had an agreement before he rented out the space to you. The only thing I can say is try as much as possible to pay up. it's not easy everywhere and I don't see what he did as a bad thing.

Did I say he did anything bad?

Politics / Re: Can A Miracle Happen? by MisterBanny(m): 5:24pm On Jul 27
banom:

Miracles do happen, and it happens everyday. But if the miracle you talking about is to expect that now you have financial need for your house rent, that from nowhere your phone will just ring and a stranger will just say take this money and fix your life, you are actually deluding yourself. .. nothing like that happens.

See the possible solutions to your challenge.

1, Meet the landlord and honestly explain your situation to him, and ask him to please give you more time to fix things up, and bring him his rent, and give him the one you have already ( if any ).

2, Move into a cheaper accommodation; one you can afford to pay for now. If things Improves tomorrow, you can rent a better one.

3, Fnd someone to borrow from, and pay the person later. Or take loan from your working place.

4, find someone and stay with for now, if you get enough money, you can now rent your own house.

5, Double your hustle.

It is in doing any or some of those things I wrote above that the miracle you are looking for will come. It won't come by just staying one place and be praying for God to intervene. God don't work that way. Your miracle will most likely also not come by you going into a betting shop to gamble the little money you have already to see if you can increase it and pay for the rent. You are most likely going to move from frying pan to fire.

Whichever you choose to do, ensure you don't end up being homeless, or thinking suicide Challenge is a normal thing in life, and everyone is facing one form or the other, and it is a lifelong thing. But it does not consume a person who always keeps his or her hope alive.

Shalom bro,..God loves you, and may he see you through.

Thank you so much for this piece πŸ™πŸ™πŸ™.
I gave him half of the rent a month ago, but he rejected it. He said he wants his money in full.

I'm thinking of going with the number 4

Celebrities / Do Miracles Ever Happen ? by MisterBanny(m): 4:57pm On Jul 27
People often say that Miracles are real and can happen to anyone if they have faith and believe in God. However, I'm yet to witness one.
I'm at the lowest ebb of my entire existence. It's so bad when you have nobody to run to for help in times of need. Not even a family to lean on in times of despair. I have promised God and nature that if this Miracle happens, I will testify and it will rekindle my faith and belief.
For many nights, I haven't slept. Why? Because I am unable to pay my rent. If you check my profile, you would see that I have made some posts about this Same issue of rent and whether a new landlord has the right to forcefully evict a tenant in some certain instances. No matter how emotionally strong you are, once your landlord comes for you, you will breakdown instantly. The house rent was increased by 50% after the house was sold. This is why I am unable to pay. Sincerely I'm tired and frustrated cos whenever I look around, I can't see a ray of light.
I believe in working hard to meet my basic needs , but the economic downturn has impacted my income so badly that my situation has become a hand-to-mouth one, just to survive.
