The tree there refers to a mighty king/kingdom that came to be as a world power and all mankind(birds) were under it influence as shown by birds feeding on it. Read Amos 2:9 to know what trees means in the bible when used prophetically.

I agree with the existence of the spiritual. NOTHING can make me cease to believe in its existence - because of my personal experiences.
