GRAMMY HAIR & MAKE UP~ ~The songbirds at the 52nd annual Grammys “played it cool” with their understated but glamorous looks. Princess pinks and twinkling eye shadows stole the spotlight. A playful Rihanna sported the prettiest eyes of the evening. Her dazzling almond gaze sparkled with an iridescent silver shadow. Lash guru Ja’Maal Buster gave her the honor of rocking his ‘Notice Me’ lashes from his exclusive QVC line set to be released soon.  ~This fab chica knows the best way to accentuate her beautiful face is to pull all of her hair back. She went for a very fresh, almost unclothed face for this year’s event.  Miss Keri Baby looked absolutely stunning with her smoky lilac lids. She opted for this uber-cute feathered bang that made its way to her signature tail at the nape of her neck.  ~Bey ditched her usual cascading curls for a sexy, straight look, and joined in on the night’s trend of highlighting the lower lash line with a beautiful shimmer.  ~Jennifer Hudson showed off a voluminous Chinese bang; another trend of the season. Her perfectly pulled-back pony shifted focus to her incredible post-baby curves. Pink lip shades maintained their reign for the evening as Hudson allowed her fuchsia lipstick to be the focus of her face.  ~The bronzed beauty of the night award goes to Melody Thornton for her sexy glow that rocked the red carpet. Her slicked-back pony and oversized bun further accentuated her radiance.  ~Toni ditched her long locks for this short coif reminiscent of her ’90s cut. The soulful songbird hasn’t been seen rocking a short cut in years. It’s definitely a great look for her.  ~When the gown and jewelry say it all, keep the beauty to a minimum. Mary J. perfectly dressed up her eyes and lips with subtle shades, leaving more room for her style game to shine.  |

Lo pulled out all the stops when she arrived in a skin-tight silver and white Versace dress.  ~Pink wore an elegant ombre gray fishtail dress.  ~Ashanti is stunning in her bronze embellished gown with a long flowing train.  ~The ultra-sharp singer is fresh and clean in a black suit, white tie and matching sneaks.  ~A very “Fergalicious” Fergie wore a sizzling cobalt blue Emilio Pucci mini.  ~Singer Katy Perry wore a unclothed Zac Posen gown dazzled with gold sequin.  ~The kitty Cat Dolls’ Melody Thornton posed in a sequin dusted two-toned gown.  ~Usher takes a bold risk in his cream suit, checkered business shirt and polka-dot tie.  ~Before walking away with four Grammys, Taylor Swift shined in a navy blue off-the-shoulder KaufmanFranco gown.  ~Pleasure P and his guest coordinated their looks with her feminine cream-colored dress and his matching blazer, tan slacks and pocket square.  ~The “Jersey Shore” star, Snooki, came out in a super-mini purple bonded dress with black booties.  ~Pop newcomer, Ke$ha, wore a gold fringed mini dress with brown platform sandals.  ~The young Miley Cyrus is rocker-chic in a short teal Hervé Léger by Max Azria dress and gladiator sandals.  ~Toni Braxton is ethereal in her white one-shoulder gown with silver jewels and crystal clutch.  |

~These days, the only thing more ubiquitous than the pompadour hairstyle is the Jersey Shore cast. This totally edgy, super-chic, poufed-in-the-front style is hotter than ever, and it’s easy to see why—from a sky-high updo to a more subtle, half-up/half-down style, this look is versatile and flattering on everyone. Exhibit A: Janelle Monae’s edgy, pompadoured natural! To do, simply leave the bang section of your afro out, and then slick the back portion into a tight French twist.  ~Chrisette Michelle adds some ooh-la-la to her ’do by creating a large roll on top.  ~Ciara adds serious height to the top of her hair, and sweeps the back into an impossibly long, sexy ponytai. Perfection.  ~Beyonce soars to new heights with this seriously teased, half-up/half-down ‘do. We love that she’s boldly flaunting an inch and a half of dark roots—so cool.  ~Alicia Keys pairs killer hoops with an eye-catching pompadour for a funky-sexy, downtown-chic moment.  ~At a recent red carpet event, Dania Ramirez showed up in a poufed-up, slicked back upsweep.  ~“Vampire Diaries” star Katerina Graham piles her long hair on top of her head for a delightfully rumpled, super-high updo.  ~Back in 2007, the Baby Phat Fall show showcased models rocking sky-high pompadours and long, wavy hair.  ~Jada Pinkett-Smith’s version of the pompadour is decidedly subtle. She added a little bit of height to the front part, and then gathered the top half back in a clip.  ~Tatyani Ali backcombed her bangs at the roots, and swept them to one side. We love the low-key glamour of the look.  ~Designer Rachel Roy is the picture of chic in this sleek ponytail with backcombing at the front.  |
