At the ending of 2017, the Nigerian music scene had one of the most memorable events in the history of Nigerian music over the last decade after two of the industry’s top acts came together to thrill their fans during their respective concerts.

Both internationally recognized music acts, Davido and Wizkid both had their ‘end of the year’ concerts around the same time and these times respectively, each artistes made a cameo appearance which thrilled each of their audiences at the time.

Their actions led to a sorta ‘bromance’ that had their fans really excited as afore time, the duo have been known to be arch rivals – the new found love of theirs made the rounds on social media with many of their fans anticipating a collaboration from them.

Well, there’s yet to be any collaboration from them and moreso, there’s yet to be any display of bromance from the two of them and this has got fans wondering if all they did last year was just publicity stunt.

According to reports, Jennifer Agomuo, a final year Computer Science student, stabbed her boyfriend, an Engineering student during an argument and when she thought she had killed him, she took a poison and died instantly.

They were both was rushed to the Federal Medical Center Owerri where the girl was confirmed dead. The man is in coma.

Former President Goodluck Jonathan has said some governors elected under the banner of the PDP worked against him in 2015. Jonathan in his new book, ‘My Transition Hour’ which he publicly presented in Abuja on Tuesday, also said he was confident of winning the election based on his achievements.

“We were confident that victory was ours. We were sure of the states where we would certainly have a clear lead. We knew the states which we had a 50-50 chance and finally the states we would have the required 25 per cent to satisfy the provisions of law,” he said in the book.

He added, “Obviously and with the benefit of hindsight, I have come to be aware of the intrigue that played a significant role in costing my party and I the election.

A commercial bus conductor on Monday beat his driver around 3.45pm in Mile One, Port Harcourt, which forced passersby to intervene and restore peace.

According to reports by Punch Metro, Trouble started when their vehicle ran out of fuel and the driver decided to close for the day and opted to pay his conductor N2,000 instead of the agreed N3,000 for the entire day.

It was gathered that the bus conductor got infuriated by the decision of his boss and insisted that the earlier agreed amount must be paid to him regardless of what had happened.

Former minister of Aviation and senator, representing Anambra North has declared and publicly disagreed with the saying that “The Youths Are the Leaders of Tomorrow”.

According to a report by PUNCH, Oduah said that the youths only need to have their potential productively enabled and the country will see a fast rise in their abilities to lead today as opposed to the tomorrow that ‘never comes.’

Former Ekiti State governor, Ayodele Fayose, has been released from prison after meeting his bail condition.

His lawyer, Mike Ozekhome, a senior advocate of Nigeria said “yes he has been released. He has perfected his bail conditions and was released this evening. I was with him and he was in a very high spirit, vowing to fight till this clueless administration is voted out of power”.

Fayose’s spokesperson, Lere Olayinka, wrote, “Fayose just regained his freedom. He left the Federal High Court, Ikoyi a few minutes ago. We will meet EFCC at the court from November 19. Thank you Nigerians.”

The Plateau State Police Command has declared the District Head of Dura Du Village in Jos South Local Government Area of Plateau State and seven others wanted in connection with the disappearance of Major General Idris Alkali (retd).

According to a statement by the Public Relations Officer of the command, Tyopev Mathias, the suspects were declared wanted following preliminary investigations indicating that they masterminded the abduction, assault and caused the disappearance of the retired army officer.

Major General Alkali, a former chief of administration at the army headquarters, has been missing since September 3, 2018.

He went missing while travelling to Bauchi State from Abuja in a black Toyota Corolla.

Presidential aspitant, Omoyele Sowore, owner of Sahara Reporters Incorporation and Objective Media Group Limited has been slammed with a fresh N2 billion libel suit by the founder of the Mountain of Fire & Miracles Ministries (MFM), Dr. D.K. Olukoya. In the suit filed before the High Court of Akwa Ibom State, Uyo, were listed as the 2nd and 3rd defendants.

According to the court papers, Sowore was accused of consistently tossing out publications that are slanderous to Pastor Olukoya’s person. Olukoya and his church are claiming N2 billion against the defendants for alleged aggravated libel and have asked the court for order compelling Sowore and his media platforms to pull down and erase each of the offending posts from the internet forthwith.

Governor of Ekiti State, Dr Kayode Fayemi, has signed an executive order for the immediate cancellation of education levies being paid by all students across the state.

He disclosed this at a forum attended by some stakeholders in the education sector held on Wednesday in Ado Ekiti, the state capital.

Governor Fayemi also announced that his administration has approved the sum of N200 million as car and housing loans for teachers in government schools across the state.

He decried that the number of school dropouts in the state was worrisome.

The governor pointed out that the government has a responsibility to ensure that education was free for students from primary to senior secondary level.

“Statistics show more students have dropped out of schools in Ekiti in the last four years,” he said.
