I understand the frustration and feelings of undue delays many of us are facing as regards pursuit of quality and affordable education in Germany. Again, let us be reminded that Germany provides an opportunity and cannot accommodate the number of applications received. While this is a setback, unfortunately, we cannot tell them what and how to do. The law supports our applications and guarantees a right to enjoy this privilege if all conditions are met and convincing, one of the options been taken by Germany is delay tactics, and high-performers' preferences (and scholars), otherwise, we may be left with lottery options. Nigerians are just 1 of many other countries with high applications facing similar challenges. Be clothed in patience and continue to prepare yourself for the future here or there. Best wishes. 2 Likes |

baqirshuayb: Unfortunately for you to get funded, you will need to be admitted first. Otherwise, look elsewhere. Erasmus(+), other countries like US, Australia and Canada. Tuition is free in Germany, what you are seeking for is not very common except for DAAD scholarship and a few others. 1 Like |

He is more likely to be on some mental distress. 2 years ago, someone I know, we lived in the same complex, all of a sudden refused taking my calls (it can be hard sometimes to knock on someone else's door, with a few exceptions). 31st Dec night that year, he called me, I thought oh, na now this stupid boy dey call me for new year 'beering'. It was a cold night, - 4 degrees Celsius. The call wasn't a good one, I called another fellow in next block to follow me to his apartment. Fast forward... > he was having a mental episode, he had planned to leave Germany for Nigeria, with his passport and ID and a little less than 1k Eur he said he had budgeted for flight ticket at Koln/Bonn Airport tickets desk. Well, next day, in the cold morning with about - 6 degrees, I was with him looking for where he has dumped his supposed travelling backpack containing a PC, Camera and other important credentials, luckily we found it untouched in a private property. This was as a result of his own doing while family prays. True, we suffer a level of loneliness even as students, depression kicks in, the demands and pressures from family and friends, the weather, particularly the gray skies and decreased levels of Vit D exposes people to seasonal affective disorders. But then, stay strong, give yourself the break it needs, talk to people, play games, go to bars and restaurants, play music and above all, find the purpose of life and how to deal with difficult times. JW.ORG has been the most resourceful and honest place to find real help. If this is not the case, it could be for many other reasons people travel. 1 Like |

profsomebody: The essence of certification and/or authentication of any document is to certify/authenticate that the copy(ies) you are sending is TRULY a copy made from the original, i.e the certifying/authenticating body (court, relevant ministries or embassy) is saying that, "yes, we saw the original(s), we verified it/them and can confidently say the copy(ies) made therefore is from an original and should be treated as (an) original(s) for the time being" since you are not expected to post your original documents to anyone/body (with a very few exceptions) otherwise you are there to present it IN PERSON. Long story uhm? 😁 Embassy and universities will only request for certified/authenticated copies except if you have to be there in person, you can show them, and get it back. 1 Like |

babatulla: VPD is an entrance qualification assessment of a candidate based on secondary education, vocational training, tertiary education (HND, BSc). To be able to study for a BSc, a candidate needs his/her SSCE evaluated (for grading in the German scale) and at least have a 100L transcript, a HND or a BSc. These are minimum requirements (according to the updated anabin database of recognised qualifications for Nigeria). In your case, only the one who just finished 100L can be admitted into a German University because evaluation of that transcript (hopefully good enough) can qualify him/her for a university study in Germany. The other one has to gain admission and finished 100 L or have an HND before being considered for a university admission in Germany. Just SSCE and OND will only qualify the person for a 1 year Studentenkolleg which requires at least a B1 German language proficiency. A few private institutions offer Studentenkolleg courses taught in English but cost about 9,000 Eur. 1. VPD evaluation takes 4-6 weeks after uploading the required documents and payment to uniassist. 2. If their causes will be taught in English, which is usually few for BSc engineering courses, some schools accept Duolingo, while others do not bother since their secondary education was in English (a simple letter from Covenant University and the secondary school can work for both of them RESPECTIVELY), other schools insist on IELTS or TOEFL. 3. The one just finishing 100L may be admitted if s/he uploaded his/her 100L full transcript to uniassist for VPD evaluation. The one with WAEC have virtually no chance because s/he doesn't meet the University entrance requirements (100L, HND, BSc). 4. I don't know if Covenant University uses a phone, but I'm sure they have a computer room. The one finishing 100L can spend more time understanding daad.de/en and maybe better than you do and if there exist further needs, you can share. 2 Likes |

Benifu: 1. If whatever you said and filled in the application form are correct. 2. If the purpose of visa application is justifiable and valid (assuming study visa, if your admission letter is valid or you have been enrolled, or your study will not be remote). 3. If your proof of sustenance (in Blocked Account or Declaration of Commitment/SL) is valid 4. If the City's foreign office (not the University) thinks you can study, be employable and/or return to your country upon graduation. This is very subjective, unfortunately, it's a reason for any decisions. 2 Likes |

Temiodeyemi: There's absolutely nothing wrong IF the person comes with a CLEAR query. From a BSc programme, at your 3rd year, you already are able to define your interest based and this will further shape your last years before graduation. Other times, job exposures would help, finally, emerging markets and prospects. The transcript or ability to recall grades would also point a candidate towards interests. It will be better for applicants to find within themselves what they could study based on their strengths, interests and motivation. Language restrictions are there and general degree requirements too. A prospective applicant ought to read this up PERSONALLY. While picking interest, align your transcript of records with relevant courses and grades with the prospective course. I once applied to a neurobehavioural course knowing fully well that I don't deserve to be admitted, in my transcript, I had only maybe 2 behavioural courses. Of course I was rejected. But the other admissions aligned with my courses and grades. It's always best for a candidate to dig deep and advice her/himself and come back with focused query. IMO. |

Jaydchukwuemeka: Great! Let's continue to raise the bar. After 4-6 years of tertiary education, we shouldn't be found not knowing what further study otherwise we will not be taken seriously. You were in that field for not less than 4 years, some aspect must have struck your interest either for the 'fun' of it or for the job prospects. Awaken your minds, great minds! 1 Like |

Duby2288: It's a letter... Explain and send to the appropriate address. They don't expect you to be a legal counsel... But write reasonably on that reason for rejection and attach proofs. Either or both by post and email. |

Duby2288: An appeal would be a letter explaining the chain of events. Stating that you met all the requirements, waited and did your studies online so far, you met with the financial proof and forwarded the proof to the embassy as required WITHIN the given time frame... And on the basis upon which you were rejected is not completely the case... Just as you dey argue normally... But in writing. |
