Health / Rehab For Colorado/weed/ Meth addiction by MrMash(m): 11:13pm On Mar 16
It's unfortunate that I am seeking help on this topic.

Someone close to me is currently battling addiction to the listed drugs . The situation is crazy , it is taking a toil on his health, lost his marriage, his kids , unable to save , looks so dirty and has anger issues .

I fear if this continues he might loose his job and ultimately his life , any suggestion for a rehab centre , likely cost and duration of treatment.

This situation makes me sad and I really need help with advice and suggestions.

Please has anybody switched Visa recently within UK?

The wait is killing, 4 weeks gone already. Student visa is real bondage.

Thank you so much. But you know work experience in Nigeria is almost zero because some of us left the area of studies to do things that are totally different once it pays our bills...

I understand your perspective,. However, I don't believe any experience is irrelevant.

What ever you did in Nigeria had skills that are transferable to roles in the UK.

After NYSC in Nigeria, I opened a Barber shop .

I learnt alot about customer service, bookkeeping, resources management, business development and how to manage irate customers.

These skills eventually helped to get a good paying job later. I operated the salon for just 4 months .

No experience or skill is irrelevant, I am sure you even have some skills you don't know are valuable. Just look inward and find the right professional keyword for your skills and find roles that would require them.

My opinion.

SerendipityHere:

Mine took 20 days. I received the email on day 20. The mail stated that my brp would be delivered within 7 days. But the brp came 2 days after I got the 'successful' email.

You can call the Home Office though. But they wouldn't do much. Will only ask that you wait it out. If it's a Health and Care Worker Visa, it will take 3 weeks max. If it's a skilled worker visa it might take more than 3 weeks.

Don't worry, it will come.

Thanks so much .

I just need the new right to work ASAP to seal a pending contract.

Hello guys..

After studying master's in International business with data analytics in UK, can the graduate get a professional job in UK within this area of study?

Please help with advice someone wants to make a final decision whether to accept the admission offer or wait and go for masters in Cyber Security.. 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏

The course you study at master's level does not really influence your chance of getting a job .

The question is how many years experience do you have in these fields? Are you skilled in these fields? In my opinion, you have a greater chance of securing employment with your Nigerian BSc than a UK masters.

My personal experience and experience of people close to me .

If you are not skilled, put more efforts into learning and getting the necessary skills. The UK MSc is just for decoration grin. By the time you get to interviews you will understand. wink

Please do they require English proficiency if someone wants to apply for Tier 2 after completing studies in the Uk? The person just finished Masters but result is not out yet though? Employer is asking if it can be provided when asked

How much did you pay for your dependent visa? First question you ask yourself and based on that you can deduce if they are owing you or not

Student: Paid 481 as visa fee

Dependant: Paid 650 as visa fee. (They are refunding the total amount)........ Product type : PBS, Start-up, Innovator or Global Talent – Partner visa

Refund would be sent directly to card, used in making initial payment...........

Boss please why would they possibly return the money? It's the full amount. The money looks good, but it's not even IHS refund.

Hello all,

Please I got this email earlier from Home office.

The quoted reference is for my wife ( dependant), visa was approved and picked in June and we got to the UK since June .

Is this normal? Or there is an error somewhere?

Ha! I see you literally took my most useless opinion to heart. I can understand why sha - it's the obvious thinking from back home. shocked

Anyway, I wouldn't think that (tapping) is a possibility here.

But if you think it is, you'd be better off calling an electrician or speaking with your landlady to arrange an electrician to assess the energy efficiency and components of the house. Won't be necessary for you to mention the possibility of tapping grin. Just tell them your plight about crazy unit consumption. Best wishes.

grin grin I don tire baba. 80 pounds weekly is no joke.
Thanks for you help.

At an average daily rate of £7.50, it's high.

Even if your house is all electric - power, heating and eating - you shouldn't be paying that high. Either there's a debt on the bill or the energy rating is between band E - G, abi person don tap your light grin.

For context, I stay in a one-bed flat. Prior to the current weather, my electricity (pre-paid) was £30 per month and gas was £31. Now, I'm doing £40 - £50 for electricity and £46 for gas (cooking and heating). Both are still under £100.

Even if it's only electricity you're using for power, heating and eating, £250 is rather too much.

Please how do I know if Dem don tap my light ? The energy rating is B (83). I already contacted a new supplier , they will be installing a new meter in 5 days . I topped-up 25pounds around 10pm yesterday, I just checked I have 11 pounds left . If it is a case of energy "tapping" changing supplier won't help.

Looks about right to me. £50 top up 5 days ago works out to be about £7.50 a day with £13 remaining. Do you have a traditional or smart prepaid meter? You should receive monthly rebate vouchers as part of the £400 Government Energy Rebate Scheme.

Please are you insinuating £7.50 a day which translates into £225 per month is okay? it is just a bedroom flat. The merchant that tops the Token Key seff told me something seems off.

@MrMash That is a huge no no with a credit card. You'll also get charged interest everyday and the interest on withdrawals is hefty in addition to the % charge on the amount withdrawn. It is always much more than the interest on using the card for purchases. It's a very fast way to get into spiralling debt.

If you want to withdraw money from a credit card, get a specific money transfer card which is purposely designed for accessing cash from credit cards.

https://www.moneysavingexpert.com/eligibility/credit-cards/search/?goal=CC_MONEYTRANSFER

Thanks so much, I understand how it works now.

Try Amex
https://americanexpress.com/en-gb/referral/oLUWAoIaVU?XL=MNMNS

Their approval rate is high at the moment so you stand a good chance even if you've not been in the UK for so long. If you use my referral link to register, we both get some bonus avios points.

NB: Please be very mindful of how you use your credit card. To be safe, make sure you set up a direct debit to pay off your balance in full every month.

Chairman , please I just got in yesterday, trying to open an account on Monzo but it is asking for tax details .

Please I sent you a PM, need further guidance on account opening and other things.

Many thanks.

A very big and loud CONGRATULATIONS going out to those who just got their visas.
Living in the UK is another kettle of fish but with adequate preparation (no matter how small), you will quickly adapt
- You need a smart phone. It’s somehow cheaper to fix (if faulty or get a new one) all your gadgets n devices in 9ja b4 leaving for the UK
- Familiarise yourself to maps on your phone. You can’t move around without a guide (map), unless you ve relatives or friends who are ready to be doing that
- Read up on my earlier post quoted above for to-do

To those still expectant, it shall surely come. Try and do your due diligence and your passport will be stamped.
The UK has many different visa routes and this only signifies they have opened up their space to qualified individuals - just make yourself qualified in any category you wish to use and you good to get a visa.

Have you paid the 65% though?

Boss please can you help me with reasons why your cousin is regretting the school University of Bedfordshire. from my research it's a nice place plus they are stepping up their practices.

Or please link me with your cousin via mail plssssss
Help a brother..

The reason I why I'm okay with their 65% deposit is that:
It's my family that will pay this first payment. Once I'm there na me go continue my fees.. so if 65% is already paid it will give me enof time to focus on study rather than put me in struggle to meet up a higher fees..

Abeg make una reason with me
