geeez: How has that completed the construction of the SNB?

How has that improved the lives of the ordinary citizens of Awka, Onitsha, Nnewi, Obosi, Ihiala, Aguata,Uli, Abagana, Alor, Atani, Nkpor, Umuoji and Umunachi?

We, the people of SW Nigeria have decided not to focus on the number of our sons and daughters that sit at the FEC meetings but the number of community based and life enriching projects that sit on our soil

tell that to the beds of the sky. if you have ever been to anambra you will understand what we are crying about. mansions covered all over the place. where did they get the money? where did minister of aviation get money to be building this big hotel in awka? where did he get the money. he is about to use 50 billon dollar to buy aroplane for Nigeria airway. we are mornitoring all of you and the mansions they are building. i will release more info

abu12: Funny enough, some of the immediate communities, family member, even the state don't benefit from those who are appointed to this position.

They only know their children whom they send to abroad and finish

where have you get that? this is why there is povaty and boko haram in the north, becus the oil money and appointment is not shared equally. 2015 will settle this matter when north will start to rule. wicked ibos. peter obi cornnived with the jonathan to share all federal jobs leaving the north empty. only the SE and SS that is benefitting from the govament. the north and SW is a suffering.

james_ibor: Did you expect him to build scientific schools for those to who Boko is haram or for those who can only score 2/200. Learn to crawl before walking.

As for power returning to North in 2015, that's no big deal. You lot gave had it for 40 years and still poverty is the middle name of an average Northerner while illiteracy is their surname.

buying you and your brothas over is very simple. that is why buhari did not have to boda himself campaigning in the east. we shall do it again come 2015. it is buhari or nigeria will blow. marginalising us is now too much. look at anambra taking the slot of entire region in the north. with conniving of the jonathan.

james_ibor: You sound like a silly goat. How do you expect Anambra not to lead the pack when they have to score 139 to gain admission in the same exam in which you are expected to score 2.

Wouldn't it make more sense for Anambra to have 139 appointments to Yobe state's 2?

you ibos have this propinsity of changing the torpic each time you are caught with the facts and figure. jonathan built almajiri school in the north and went to bayelsa and anambra to built world class scientific school. that is marginalizazion. all these marginalisazion will end in 2015 when we take over power. bllody ibos

Politics / Re: Anambra Is Biggest Beneficiary Of Federal Appointments, Research Reveals by muktarl: 4:07pm On Jul 20, 2013
this is the same thing that led to the massacre of ibos in 1966. make una continue in this marginalization of the north. wait until we take power in 2015 all of una go hear am.

peter obi has connived with jonathan to corner all the federal posts to anambra.
Politics / Anambra Is Biggest Beneficiary Of Federal Appointments, Research Reveals by muktarl: 4:05pm On Jul 20, 2013
A research by an Abuja-based Non-Governmental Organisation, Governance and Sustainable Development Initiatives, has revealed that Anambra State is the biggest beneficiary of federal appointments in the last two years.

This is contrary to an earlier summary of federal appointments presented by the office of the Secretary to The Federal Government in May which indicated that Delta was the leading state in terms of federal appointments.

The SGF presented the summary of federal appointees as proof that efforts of the administration in the last two years to correct the outstanding imbalances in federal appointments had begun to yield the desired results. It was presented as part of the Mid-Term Report of the Jonathan administration.

But the appraisal and detailed analysis of the list by GSDI punched holes in the report. The NGO called to question the integrity of the data and the “inconsistencies contained in it.” It said further that the data analysis and deductions “were on the basis of the narrow prism of geo-political balancing.”

The NGO readily points to the “duplication and wrong listing” of appointees by the SGF. It said: “For a start, the total number of appointees involved in the SGF analysis was not 551 but 545, as four appointees namely - Alhaji Yusuf Usman Abdallah, DG National Commission for Museums and Monuments; Mr Adebayo Atoyebi, Executive Secretary of the Nigeria Press Council; Alhaji Abubakar H. Tanko, Conservator General of the National Parks and Dr Kabir M. Anka, Medical Director Federal Medical Center, Gusau, from Kano, Kwara, Niger and Zamfara States respectively, had their names and designations repeated.

“Professor Chinedu Nebo from Enugu State, already appointed as Minister of Power, was still listed as the Vice- Chancellor of the Federal University, Oye-Ekiti. Rivers State, which the summary indicates as having 16 political appointees, had only 15 on the list. Professor Oye Ibidapo Obe was listed under Lagos whereas he is from Osun State.”

The GSDI pointed to the “grave omission or non-inclusion" of key appointees of certain federal agencies. It said: “For the NNPC and the CBN, what was listed were only the Group Managing Director and the Governor respectively. None of the six group executive directors of the NNPC or the four deputy governors of the CBN was listed. The subsidiary companies of the NNPC are also missing.”

The NGO queried why career-based appointments were lumped with political appointments and faulted the non-inclusion of ministers, advisers and appointments arising from electoral processes.

After including the ministerial/political appointments, top bureaucratic appointments and top legislative positions, the NGO’s list of the all-comers appointees went up from 545 to 680.
When all the political appointments at the ministerial, bureaucratic and legislative levels were added to the SGF data, the leading states in terms of total appointments changed.

Anambra displaced Delta as number one with 35 slots. Other leading states according to the GSDI study were Delta (34), Kaduna (29), Kogi (28), Kwara (28), Ogun (27), Osun (27), Edo (26), Adamawa (26), Imo (24), Katsina (24) and Bayelsa (24), while States with the least number of total appointments were: Zamfara (7), Taraba (7), Lagos (9), Ebonyi (9), Yobe (11), and Sokoto (11).

The NGO’s report was signed by its CEO, Dr Goke Adegoroye, a retired Federal Permanent Secretary and pioneer Director General of the Bureau of Public Service Reforms.

For someone who have read so many books, you still can't differentiate between noble and Nobel. Should anyone take you seriously for the obvious lack of basic understanding of what you are taking about?

Its called TALKING. This is the injurious effect of free fake education of their hero that took his own life out of frustration.

I had to use small letter for the type of Prize they gave to Soyinka, its kinda white wash political Prize. grin

ajanaku2: Chinua Achebe's a good fictitious Novelist, no doubt, but ascribing that "Father of African Literature" to him is not only a Travesty, but a Taboo...Achebe himself rebuffed the illegitimate title!

People all over Africa had written Novels and Poetry before he was born...

Even here in Nigeria, Amos Tutuola's "The Palm-Wine Drinkard" and "My Life in the Bush of Ghosts" had gained worldwide prominence years before "Things fall Apart"...A fact Achebe acknowledged in his latest book "There was a country"...

I'm not taking anything from "Things fall apart"! It was my most favorite Nigerian fiction (Novel) before I read Soyinka's "The Interpreters"...

Someone needs to read Soyinka's "Ake: The years of Childhood"; and "You must set forth at dawn"...pure classics for the matured minds!

With all your blabbing Achebe remains the Father of Modern African Literature. case closed.

Remember that Obama received Nobel Prize for Peace while prosecuting two wars. What an irony! Nobel Prize is simply a political award. Pele was picked as the greatest footballer of the last century by FIFA, while football fans worldwide voted for Maradona. FIFA was embarrassed into jointly awarding it to Pele/Maradona. Chinua Achebe is known all over the world, while only few people knew about Soyinka, even though he is a Nobel Laureate. History will remember Chinua Achebe more than Soyinka. So why this hullaballo about Nobel prize which was chosen by few European with heavy bias?

That is the point we want this yoruba people to know. Arguing blindly without substance, even when it is clear that Achebe is a house name all over the world. Most people outside yoruba enclave hardly know who is Soyinka.

Bwahahahaha

That's the most ludicrous and asinine title ever bestowed on anyone.

Zik was more of his own pocket - he wasn't even the father of his people. grin

Keep deceiving yourself. Great Zik was of Africa. He was truly a Pan Africanist unlike awolowo who was a tribal leader. Like Achebe Zik did not give himself that title. He was called Zik of Africa by the Africans and world alike.

all4naija: Only in your twisted mind you asserted such biased claim. Please, get something doing with your life than trying to cajole yourself into what you don't have single understanding of.

Mind you, Chinua Achebe is not a recipient of the highest award in literature, the Noble Prize for literature, which Wole Soyinka can boast - if necessarily required of him.

Go and sit somewhere. Am from the far north Achebe has affected our lives, I have read most of his works. Soyinka with all the hype on the purported noble prize which to my believe is quite political has not affected anybody's life in any way.

Achebe's works has made Nigeria known to the world. He is indeed father of African Literature. Soyinka apart from noble prize he is now a liability to Nigeria and needed to discard immediately.

You are entitled to you opinion. I am not Igbo and not from the East. My parents from Ebute-Metta. I was born and raised in Lagos Island/Mushin. Olateju to be precise. I am Yoruba to the core. If you believe a Yoruba should not support an Igbo man, then you are wrong. Tribe is nothing to me. I am not blided by tribe or religion. I am a complete Nigerian. The names you listed would do better than who we have right now and Rochas seems to have a good track record based on what he has done before he became Governor of Imo State.

What track record are u talking about? And what do u think okorosha has achieved aside from acting like a comedian on a daily basis. He has borrowed so much money from the bank with nothing to show for it. Okorosha is not even on the list of first 50 igbo contestants.
