No problem. Always be sure to ask questions as you just did before you do certain things in this country. The US is very different from Nigeria in terms of administration and is very strict about their due process.

Yes boss, I really appreciate it.

Actually boss I don't know if I can have ur direct contact here in the states.

Please I need you guys advice. I pay my tuition myself and money from home, right now I really need a job to sustain myself and my school don't have good and enough on campus jobs. I was under the work-study contract and suddenly they took it from me saying it's not for foreign students only for U.S citizens. Meanwhile I already have SSN. Please how can I work off campus on code and I got good jobs which pay well but all of the organizations does E-verification. Please advise me good people. Thanks

Go to your international student office and tell them you need to apply for work permit because you've been paying ur fees urself and things is not going well for u atm, I believe ur Sch international officer should help u with this process it only cost 400USD. This people won't tell you bout this, you will have to go talk to them and explain

Inviting your parents when you must have obtained your residency makes it easier then as your status has changed. Because you will be adjusting by marriage, I suppose, your past illegal status in the country is overlooked and you should be able to invite your parents just fine.

Thanks a lot bigfrancis21, you actually gave me hope now.

Hahahahaha. You wanted to outsmart your masters, huh? grin

Your parents can re-apply for visa but would find it difficult to get approved.

They should hold on for your card first and then reapply. But, most of all, they should be honest with the Consulate Officer and explain clearly why they were turned back.

Thanks a lot I really appreciate your response

You knew you were out of status and illegal yet you invited your parents. Well, when you finally get your green card, you and your wife can file for them or invite them to visit you.

No they had the visa when I was still in status and I thought it wouldn't matter again when they are coming down here, but anyway I really appreciate your response at least u give me HOPE

Hello everyone,

I have a very big question here. My parent were visiting me in the US this weekend but they were sent back to Nigeria because the immigration officer called my school to know if I'm still a student at the Sch which unfortunately I'm not in Sch this semester. This is the last thing I expected them to do, but however it has happen and I'm looking for a solution for my parent to be here by nxt year. Already, I just got married to an akata girl and I haven't just put my paperwork in. My question here is that will it be possible for them to visit me again at any point in time when I'm a greencard holder, or when I will graduating? I know I messed up I will really appreciate your help.

Hello house

I have one big question that has been disturbing my life. I am a freshman student in the united states. since i wont be staying in school for the period i was doing the transfer,I traveled out of the US to complete my transfer application to another university. Fortunately, I got accepted to Oklahoma state university; this where the big question came up, my SEVIS record from the previous school has been transferred to oklahoma, and my new i20 has arrived. My question is do I still need to pay for another sevis fees because oklahoma make a new i20 entirely;which i dont understand why, and is it possible for me to ask oklahoma state to transferred my SEVIS record back to the old i was to i can use their i20 to reenter US back? I look forward hearing your responses.

Thanks,

Dollar is high now. It may be that you have insufficient fund.

Thanks for your response. I have enough in the account, I dont think that is the problem.

I don't think you will be out of status if your transfer is successful and the new school validates your SEVIS information for spring. By the way, discuss it with international students office of both schools. They are in the best position to clear your doubts.

Many thanks for your response, the problem here is that I still need to balance this present school, by that way they wouldnt send my transcript if their money no complete, and na September i plan giving them their money..That is, I wont be getting the other sch i-20 until i clear their bills oveer here, which i also dont wanna spend extra semester in this school.. Is staying in the United between now and there legal I dont know if i am making sense.

Hello Guys,
I am currently a student in a university in west Virginia and im planning on transferring to University of Minnesota, but the uni of Minnesota is not giving admission for Fall 2014, instead they are offering me admission for spring 2015 which is okay by me. My question here is what can i do to remain in the US without being out of status, and if by any chance i met myself in that situation what can i do to be back on status prior to my admission in uni of Minnesota. PLS Help a brother.
