Asked if his father did not leave a wealth of properties and assets that could be converted to help start off a good business plan for some of them, who may want to restart their lives in the family. He replied to the contrary, noting that the late former governor left only one house as at the time of his death and nothing more. The house he told the Daily Sun is located in the Hotoro area and it is called Corner Sabo. “That is the only house he left for us and we have shared the house, every one of us has got his own share. He didn’t live any money, he left nothing. We are only in the hands of God.

this is simply what happens when you wait to inherit property and not GET YOURS.

we'll give out chieftancy titles to whoever is named on the nigerian side and be sure that title comes with at least a ministerial nomination when next we decide to shuffle/restock out cabinet/shelf. and if that doesnt click we'll make them Ambassadors to the most sensitive, no nonsense countries we have diplomatics ties with.

they sure do. like some OLA i know who all of a sudden changed to MIKE after like 2 semesters of being called OLA. and when his 'friends' came around looking for MIKE we were there to respond with, Oh, OLA has a class at 12 so he should be in school soon.

B.O.S.S.:

Well, the movement is still in progress (http://www.mynigerianproject.org/) but we're being hampered by registration at the moment which takes 6months minimum and well belive it or not costs $1000 all of which is coming from our pockets so the vision is not dead; and as mentioned by KoboJunkie above, Nigeria's success cannot be relied on the dreams of a group of high aiming youths however it requires a collective effort.

More so, there's room for growth and more NGOs but that's not just what Nigeria needs.

I got fed up with the constant negativity, tribalism and hate on here hence my hiatus. Hello there Kobojunkie and Must_a_far

you seem to be ignoring one thing. The "average" nigerian allows himself to be swayed and blown away by authority figures. Whether it's giving your child away to an almajiri, contributing your salary to a church's building fund or selling your votes for a crate of pepsi (add a bag of rice too).

The problem isn't being cynical, the problem is settling for less and being subservient to authority. You wonder why Nigeria hasn't witnessed something to level of the cedar or orange revolution. What makes us different from Ukraine or Lebanon? Wasn't Abacha an average Nigerian before he joined the army. Nigerian society produces bad leaders and not the other way around.

i hope you are notsaying it is the job of FIFA to help us manage our infrastructure

nowhere in my post did i make mention of fifa helping manage infrastructure. my question is what happens to it after the tourney? would it sit pretty on the grounds of ayinke house or would it be in the air 20 hours of the day?
Politics / Re: Air Ambulance In Nigeria: Nigeria Out, Yoruba In. by mustafar1: 8:49pm On Apr 02, 2009
can these people shut up so we can hear ourselves think! i dont care what FIFA or WAFU thinks about this, what i care about is what happens to said equipment after the tourney is over and FIFA shifts its attention to its next tourney and host country.

Politics / Re: Nigeria Murdered On Wikipedia by mustafar1: 4:29pm On Apr 02, 2009
whether people highlight out ill and faults is not the point, because we cant dictate to them what they should think of us. what we do afterwards is what we should focus on. the WHO publishes a report about nigerias health figures. which they have the have the right to. if its not true we counter their claim with documented facts and not mere words. and if we do not have the facts at that point in time, we work towards having it ready the next time such is spilled. but instead our health ministery sits back and says nothing and does nothing.

Kobojunkie:

I think someone summed it up best on another thread that the moment we start acknowledging the problems we have in that country as they truly are, the sooner we start dealing directly with these problems and applying the rational solutions to see to it that they are completely done away with, rather than continue to blame everyone else for our problems and focus on applying “salves” to cover up and somehow make the problems magically disappear.

From those in government to those on the streets, a majority continue to play the blame game; some blame the lack of success on the people not having the right mindset (no matter how stupid and ridiculous the strategy) and believe that by working on making the people love the country more, the problems will go away. Others believe those in government are the problem and that if they are magically removed, things will work better. There are those who blame the Nigerians who have stepped out of the country and have seen how much better life could actually be for those in Nigeria and continue to speak out against the ills and atrocities in that country. There are others who continue to lament that all these ills and atrocities do not only exist in Nigeria and so the problem are in some way not as big as they really are.  Some believe that the more Nigerians believe in Nigeria, the better the country will be. There are many others who believe that secession would be the best way in tackling the problems in that country. At the end of the day, the problems persist.

History has shown us over and over that the more people work to escape their reality, the more devastating their problems become.  Problems do not magically go away, at some point, we will all need to work to dealing directly with the problem or we can continue to bite at each other while the problems persist.

Kobojunkie, that is the musical chairs we've been playing for the longestest time.
