"19. I want to reassure you all that those who are directly or indirectly encouraging any form of rebellion against the Nigerian state, and their collaborators; those insurgents and terrorists who take delight in killing our security operatives, whoever they may be, wherever they may go, we will hunt them down, we will fish them out, and we will bring them to justice. No matter what it takes, we will win this war against terror". Politics / Re: What Is Your Definition Of Development? by mymz(f): 1:26pm On May 14, 2013 |
Gigantic buildings that are not maintained are simply for 'show off' cos it shows you had no agenda when erecting them. Development in my opinion goes hand-in-hand with structure, dedication and sustainability. There should be structures whose underlying precepts SHOULD NOT be tampered with, but instead, improved upon. Standards that are adhered to the latter, and a culture of maintenance that would sustain those ideas/programs intended to benefit the populace. We have a problem in Nigeria, and its not just the greed. Its the mentality that erodes posterity from our minds. Developed nations got to their apexes because they always thought about the future. Making a mark, leaving a legacy, ideas/programs that are instituted for the good of the citizenry and those to come, not just for a select group, sect or class of people. This is my definition of development; Structures that are instituted to vigorously purge the educational system in Nigeria and aggressively reform the courses offered in schools to those that are of more beneficial purposes for the average man in Nigeria such as Agriculture, Tourism, Technology etc Structures that are instituted to revise our stupid constitution that only enriches those in power, thereby encouraging more and more people to seek political offices in order to carry out their turn of thievery. When the constitution allows for a salary of 50k a month, a government designated apartment (which would be vacated immediately after his/her tenure ends), NO overseas medical allowance but an insured health care allowance in LOCAL hospitals and a vigorous quarterly review of every project a senator undertakes for accountability. Security structures that will relieve the officer whom when a rape case is reported to him/her, asks the stupid question "eh, wetin she wear? wetin e go find for man house by that time"? of his/her badge before locking him/her up [s]and probably designating a firing squad to him/her.[/s] Structures that not only engages the citizenry in substantial projects aimed at equipping them through training and apprenticeship, but monitors their growth/progress in phases so as to evaluate the success or failure of the scheme and make better informed decisions in future projects. Structures that create enabling environments in which people can thrive on their own and make something of themselves. Constant electricity, good roads, security (God! security) and a commitment to due processes A law that will allow and approve of the shooting of any Development involves a whole lot, and it starts with us as individuals recognizing the truth of who we truly are and joining forces to ensure that the "collective" good of the people are upheld at all times, without bias. |

Perhaps its because no one else sees the essence in trying to pour soot on a billboard. The topic was aimed at appraising her OUTFIT in this particular picture not an opportunity to take a jibe at her age or her relationship status. Physical allure, street smarts, personality, fame & fortune, all wrapped in a well packaged petite frame. If that ain't beautiful, then i don't know what is. She's already made dear. She did not need a man to get to where she is now and still doesn't. Plus, its her life. Learn to always remember that. 4 Likes |
Family / Re: Blue-Collar Workers Want Their Children To Go to College: Why? by mymz(f): 5:34pm On May 08, 2013 |
Seun, jor farabale na. oboy you mean this your rules o @topic, blue-collar workers just like workers of the other sectors are banking on what is known to be the sure way to earn a decent living in present day Nigeria - Education. Where education no longer translates into acquiring the mindset that sets you apart and instills in you the right mentality, attitude and ability to create wealth for yourself, by yourself, but now translates into acquiring a certificate (by any means necessary i might add). This perception is further fueled by the slow but sure death the blue-collar sector faced at the hands of our ignoramus leaders in the late 80's and the 90's. Thus, pragmatism may be one word too many gone amiss in the dictionaries of these humbled parents who just want a better life for their wards, although going about it the not-so-right way. 2 Likes |

Family / Re: Is A Child's Education An Achievement To Parents Or Their Responsibility? by mymz(f): 2:29pm On May 06, 2013 |
when a child undertakes paying his/her way through secondary school and the university that a father, who made the decision to bring them into this world should have undertaken, they'd feel robbed and a great injustice done to them. It is the parents' responsibility as the decision to make you was theirs. From primary, secondary through to tertiary level education. From thereon, it becomes a matter of choice for the child as he/she is a full fledged adult who understands the ramifications of the world he/she lives in and can make his/her way through it and decide whether to go further or not. It no longer becomes an obligation to the parent from that point. The very wealthy parents and those that appreciate the true worth of seeing their wards go the whole nine yards, go as far as masters level and even leave a trust fund for doctorate degrees if their wards feel so inclined. The basics however, are their responsibility which in turn, becomes an achievement because it makes them proud seeing what they've become as a result of their investment. It's like building a house only for the entire community to admire that house so much so that it becomes like a landmark someday. 1 Like |

A nation with people that appreciates the semblance of unity or whatever it is they have and will fight to preserve it for posterity sake. A government that follows the trail, is tenacious enough to find out its roots and takes giant steps to nip terrorism in the bud with a proactive stance like this one. Nigeria should not 'COPY' the US, but she could emulate the strides and indomitable spirit with which the Americans say NO to cowardly, face covering, murdering, thieving, Godforsaken scumbags who demand a right to God-knows-what because they have a propelled grenade launcher in one hand and profess the name of God. A God that in my opinion, is either a dictator or in extinction, because no God in all his might, eminence and grace, needs scumbags to fight wars for him, talk more senseless wars. 4 Likes |
Food / Re: What Is The Best Seasoning For Cooking Generally? by mymz(f): 1:18pm On May 04, 2013 |
A lot of people may not know this, but Crayfish is actually a very worthy substitute for magi - has a lot of health benefits too. Also, try Ogiri (hate the smell tho) depending on the food i.e Oha, Onugbo and even Ogbono - its very good for the eyes Efurun is also quite good but does cause wheezing when sniffed in its raw state (even tho it does not contain MSG). Plus, I'm sure the wheezing property will be greatly reduced after its been used in cooking. others are; white pepper, black pepper, ginger, thyme, garlic and some coriander won't hurt i guess. If the bible advocates that we eschew worldly possessions and rewards and calls us to seek things of "higher" value such as eternal life in heaven, one would ask why pastors would need or seek payment for a 'calling' they volunteered for. I saw a quote recently; "the white men had the bible, we had the land. They asked us to close our eyes and pray, when we opened them, they had the land and we had the bible". Why did the white man, who introduced us to the bible venture to take our lands after handing us the bible? Could it be that worldly possessions are indeed necessary and thus should be sought after all? Questions! Questions! |

Dear madam, "Tit-for-tat" will never get you anywhere but might actually compound the situation and leave you with very ugly scars you'll live with bitterly, forever. You may think your children are blind to the sublime drama evolving between you two but trust me, they are not. They see, hear and perceive things far beyond their presumed ability for understanding. They know daddy is cheating and that mommy has decided to also get even. Not a very healthy moral lesson for impressionable kids now don't you think? Think about your personal happiness and healing -because you are greatly hurt and cheating is your own way of dealing with the pain-. It is obvious whatever you two shared died a long time ago. Search yourself and determine if whatever you have left is worth fighting for and if you are willing to fight for it. Also, have a long heart-to-heart talk with him, see if you can find out what the problem really is cos if you eventually go your separate ways (which i can bet 50calibre's life will happen) you're going to not want to repeat the mistakes of your past. Finally, for God's sake do yourself the honor of stepping aside. Get a divorce or a separation (whichever is applicable). Don't make the same mistakes our parents made, -trying to stay in a failing/failed marriage because of what society will say or think- you would only be proving that man actually repeats history and CANNOT learn from his past mistakes. Society's perception is very worthless dear. Society is a concept. In reality, what you have are REAL individuals, living REAL lives, going through REAL problems. People change, feelings change. No amount of fasting, praying, hoping, cheating or pay-back will ever get it to be what it was never meant to be in the first place. If you seek companionship and a man to share your life with, get a divorce, agree with your husband on issues relating to the welfare of the kids, re-invent/re-orientate yourself and go look for someone who would love you for YOU and mind you, there exists quite a number of 'em aye |
Science/Technology / Re: Russian Billionaire Plans To immortalize Humans By 2045 by mymz(f): 12:35pm On Apr 08, 2013 |
Billyonaire: It was during my first OBE, via Astral Projection, that I figured out that the human body has 'mechanical nature'. The rotation of the other body at exactly 360 degrees and clock-like sound during the rotation, the pop sound and explosive ejection of the inner body to space was an experience I can not trade. It re-defined me. I find the topic of OBE and parapsychology of great interest. please could you elaborate on your experience, trigger and type. was it a locale 1 type or a locale 2 type OBE? was it induced? and if yes, how? please elaborate, as I'm really curious and amazed at the propensity with which biological forms gravitate towards the principles of antimatter. @topic, one chooses to believe or fear that which is unknown. when the Christians revere God in the same way the Buddhist does Buddha and the scientist, his "force", a reasonable conclusion should be that results are the same but methods, differ. i'm of the opinion that Nigerians are afflicted with the worst form of indoctrination as it would always cause us more loss and grief than we would ever fathom. if "God"/"Allah"/"Buddha"/"Force" wanted to restrict our understanding, he/it would have programmed us and our thinking. the mere fact that you can achieve that which you set your mind to do is proof enough that we should all transcend earthly devices and norms. |

BOKO HARAM took up arms defending a cause known i'm wondering what will happen if i get a group of jobless, hungry, attention seeking people, and we take up arms too to fight a cause that will be known as "war against giving amnesty to jobless, hungry, interminably stupid, murder-loving people" how about some amnesty for me and my group too? heck let everyone take up arms for some cause or the other and later come seek amnesty Jonathan is just a great disappointment i choose to call a GOAT *spits* 1 Like |

Politics / Re: My Oga At The Top: NSCDC Replaces Shem With Adesuyi As Lagos Commandant by mymz(f): 5:03pm On Apr 02, 2013 |
#FACT1: the guy was an incompetent buffoon who just like many before him (and sadly, a lot more after him) used the deep seated corrupt practice of "connections" to attain the position he's just been relieved of. #FACT2: all those who call the anchors of the said broadcast unprofessional are either mentally as corrupt as this bedridden nation of ours or are so spineless that they would accept and/or promote mediocrity. #FACT3: to this day, the so called agency "NSCDC" have made no attempt at clarifying the air (and albeit, serve the true purpose of the broadcast) by informing the general public of its "one" true website, rather, the best and next line of action is to replace one numbskull with another. #FACT4: Nigerians have played the bigger fool (as its citizenry always does) in this whole fiasco as no one sees the bigger plot to continue exploiting the thousands of unsuspecting graduates who give members of the NSCDC money in return for a job position in one government parastatal or the other. The allegation that the agency has multiple websites which it procures for the sole purpose of advertising for positions in government parastatals, and shuts down after swindling job seekers (because most of them eventually don't get the promised job) is still dangling in the air unconfirmed and/or denied. i remember seeing "JOB RACKETEERING" as the topic being discussed during the broadcast. #FFT1: ask yourself why they (NSCDC) haven't tried to make a public statement, announcing what the real website of the agency is to dispel all accusation and any complicity in the job racketeering allegation. keeping in mind that an agency should have "one" official website. #FFT2: why would a rep from a government agency keep referring to his "oga at the top" after being REPEATEDLY asked what the website of his agency is? is he a learner? #FFT3: the NSCDC claim they have apprehended numerous suspects in connection to job racketeering. who and where are these suspects? how come Mr. Shem (if he wanted to go defensive on Channels tv) did not mention these numerous apprehensions and the status of their trials if there's been any? #FFT4: if indeed the allegations were true, what do you think would happen after NSCDC publicly asserts one website as its official website? would some people miss the "palm greasing" because now that everyone knows the official website, i don't have to keep paying anyone who tries to sell me to some "www.nscdc.wapta.waptika.shintamani.dazall" and ask for a little "kola" on the side. #my2cents: Mr. Shem was just a willing ploy in the whole scheme and we fell for it like a pack of cards. The mind they say, is a terrible thing to waste indeed. 1 Like |

hello, please can you help me with information regarding Herpes? about 4years ago, a very close relative of mine discovered two pimple-like bumps on the ridge of her back. she said they were non-itchy and painless and so she gave no serious thoughts to them then. however by the next morning, a strange looking rash had encircled half of her midriff starting from the point where she noticed the bumps the night before, through to her navel. the rash looked like fire burns and were crippling her with severe pains. she was later diagnosed with Herpes and some treatment commenced but the pains were abating at snail-speed or not at all. fast forward 4years on, after both native (herbal)and orthodox medicine have been administered, the rash/burn-like appearance are gone but the internal pains are still present (though not as severe as they once were). sometimes the area in question is said to feel like an internal wound. currently, a doctor prescribed Lyrica (150mg) and said that there isn't much more that can be done as the pains she's experiencing now are inherent in her nerves. i really don't want to believe that this pain can't be totally eradicated or at least subdued to a very minimal level so please i ask, what can be done or administered to help relieve if not totally diminish the pains? i would be very grateful if you can help me with useful info (or any info at all). thank you |

musiwa22: i am shock, i totally agree with you, you really are "shock", seeing as my left hand suffered severely from the "shock" of realizing that you were "shock" enough not to have followed this story online but was still "shock" enough to comment on it. more so when you advocate that people should write to the government when "you upset", in a country where the leaders only engage literary devices when it has to set up committees to draw up responses to allegations leveled against it. a country where a rep comes on air and categorically forgets the website of the agency he purports to represent, albeit because he was "shock". i mean i think its only "shock" that allows "people to use bomb" and "violent" in a nation where jungle justice is the order of the day. however, your sincere "shock" stance on the topic seems to be of genuine concern, so please tell us how to overcome these "shock" as a nation so that we can start doing the right things. |
