Ok ooh.. How come these MBA assistantships aren't readily to US residents and citizens pursuing MBA?

Everyone is eligible to work as an assistantship.

US residents work as assistantships.

Who told you they don't work as assistants?

Remember the graduate assistantship positions are limited, everyone cannot get an assistantship.

That's why people are encouraged and advised to apply to as many schools as possible.

HALLO !

@Najdorf you with @BigIyanga are just advertising fake visa for the purpose of attracting clients . If your visa is real there is a part you can snap for the public to see and cover the remaining details . VO saw that you had scholarship and he did not ask about sponsorship and just gave you visa 😀. Go and tell that to the fools .

°°°°°°°°°°°

I have not met @NewBoyKashogggi but i use to follow his posts and detailed style of explanations. I also observed that you with your cabals usually attack or try to bully newbies on Nairaland which is a very bad omen for the growth of Nairaland .

Don't bring politics into Nairaland , stop mentioning or abuse the authorities on Nairaland . What we are dealing with here is USA visa issues.

Back to your point , i want to support @NewBoyKashoggi that your claim of scholarships is USELESS FOR VISA PURPOSES. What @NewboyKashoggi is saying and which i support is that no matter how good is your Scholarship IT WILL OR DOES NOT GUARANTEED YOUR VISA.

Encourage students to focus on genuine intentions, SOP , Post graduation plans , How to communicate with the CO convincingly etc. Not focusing on unecessary scholarships which takes away all other visa qualification qualities.

It is good to have scholarships if you can access it but after accessing it and failed to garner other qualities , you will use your scholarship in your home library . Or you want to tell me that all applicants in Nigeria will or must access scholarships ?

HAVE A NICE DAY .

NewBoyKashogggi, you think you're talking with kids?

Hey 🤠

1. You possibly did not do it in a right way because the embassy policy is equal -opportunity to all, except in the case of system error.

2. Normally, you should request for an emergency visa appointment within 60 days prior to your resumption. You might have requested for it at a later time when there is backlog of Applicants to attend to .

3. The embassy still understand that every student can defer his or her enrollment terms and request for new Form I 20 , therefore the possibility that they will not grant every student when they have large numbers of applicants is also high.

Do you still have the Emergency Appointment option on your dashboard ? If YES then you have high hope . If NO then there is no magic you can do than to defer your Admission.

Best Wishes 🙏

Seriously, you don't need to open a new account to support yourself.

You're not the reason Nairaland was off for three days.

Assistantship to cover tuition, board and living expense?

Most assistantships cover tuition in full. Some provide for room and board. Most stipends you receive while working will typically cover the living expenses, you just don't need to spend recklessly.

The only thing most assistantships don't cover is health insurance and students fees, but those can only be paid from stipend since most assistantships offer subsidized health insurance.

You just have to be wise and apply to where the money is.

If you sabi your onion, US schooling won't stress you at all.

I want to support @NewBoyKashoggi . He has given the appropriate answer . MBA is for professional people and in layman's term it is mainly for people who are working already and wants to develop on their career . It's not good for a straight out graduate who is supposed to be opting for MSc.

That being said , @BigIyanga, if Americans are taking loan or borrowing money to attend their great grandfather's tax paid created institutions , are Nigerians or Africans an Americans ? The VO or CO expects all Nigerians going to school in the US of A to have their money otherwise stay behind and go to UNILAG OR OAU or COVENANT UNIVERSITY. Any Applicant who sources for loans or put total hope in scholarship is not financially capable to study in the United States.

@BigIyanga , US embassy or the American government likes giving scholarships and awards to only very outstanding students whom they (the US government) don't care stayed behind after their studies. @NewBoyKashoggi is given a well-researched and correct answers . Let us stop discriminating in order to move forward .

Cos MBA is a professional program and you’re required to pay out of pocket for it. Most Americans take loans to pay for it. And most Nigerian applicants are going to face stricter financial scrutiny by VOs… and they know that 95% of Naija bank accounts don't have N500k balance… so how are you going to pay for MBA programs as intl students?

But in Naija, emotional answers are more rewarding to people in a predicament than logical and pragmatic answers.

Good luck.

Most MBA students receive a graduate assistantship if they apply early and pass the interview.

There are plenty of graduate assistantship positions in the School of Business that offer full funding without deficit, if you know your onion.

Maybe you don't know this.

Sir ! Go back to his post . He insulted me . I was ready to guide him all through solution that was why i asked ..DO YOU STILL HAVE THE EMERGENCY OPTION ?

He did not pay me money nor data and I was using my time , at the same time i was not frustrated with his questions, i knew in my mind that he was the one doing something wrong ... BUT HE CAME WITH INSULTIVE WORDS !!!

SAY THE TRUTH chairman so that Nigeria can move forward.

Why are you always berging into all my posts ? HAVE YOU GIVEN HIM ANY ANSWER UP TILL NOW ?

1. After receiving emergency Appointment approval notification , the next step is click on reschedule Appointment ...YES OR NO ?

2. If that one did not work call the CGI help desk . YES OR NO ?

Now point out to where i have guessed the answer .... or give us your own answer .

😔

Since he didn't pay you money nor data and you were using your time, that's why you should not reply him again and focus on something else.

Hey 🤠

@Naijalarry ... You are just exposing yourself as a common enemy , and you know what ? If you are an elder in a community , the youths of that community will not grow up.

1. I gave him accurate answers 3 times and he kept coming back with the same questions ..WHILE YOU AND YOU CABALS HAS NOT GIVEN HIM ANY ANSWER UP TILL THIS MOMENT .

2. Instead of him to appreciate me and come out with the truth what really happened, he came out with insult an insultive word ....GO BACK AND READ HIS LAST POST ..instead of you foolish elder to reprimand him , YOU ARE HERE ATTACKING ME.

3. I am changing you to give us the answer... YOU RECEIVED AN APPROVED EMAIL FOR EMERGENCY APPOINTMENT....TELL US WHAT IS THE NEXT THING FOR SUCH PERSON TO DO ??

4. The guy has done something wrong . They won't tell the truth , they will come to Nairaland and be causing commotion. WHEN YOUR 1+1 IS NO MORE 2 THEN YOUR CALCULATION OR BRAIN IS FAULTY.

5. One came to Nairaland and wrote that she has applied for emergency 3 times ..that's when i discovered she was telling lie because you can only be granted an emergency option once .

@Naijalarry Stop attacking me if you don't want God to fight you .

You must not reply him again if it's not going as planned.

You don't need to insult him to make a point.

It's not in your place to force someone to tell you everything even if you feel they're withholding something.

Don't just assume something especially when you don't have the full proof.

Don't just picture something and go with it.

That you felt he's lying don't give you the power to hurl insults on him, the best thing is not to reply again.

You're not obligated to reply, you can still read and swerve if it's not going the way you envisage it.

Don't turn Nairaland to a battleground.

You won't cease to exist if you just keep calm without replying everyone.

Except you've appointed yourself something we all don't know.

That he has gone through the process before doesn't mean he can't ask questions and get answers.

As you can see, he's panicking because time is going and the right thing you should do is to assist him with the necessary steps and not insult him.

Infact, you must not reply him if you won't give him the necessary assistance he deserves.

Please any updates about Visa appointment available dates for students who have been previously denied. I was denied September 25, 2023 and i went ahead to pay for another visa. However, i'm unable to secure an appointment because i get the response "There are currently no appointments available."

Receiving that response is not in connection with your denial. Keep looking for dates.

A denial doesn't stop you from getting dates when they're available.

If someone has been refused an f1 visa for the 1s time, the waiting period is 6 months, assuming someone was refused a visa on July 31, 2023, when would the portal be opened for the person to book visa again, would it be from January 31, 2024, then my portal will be opened for me to see available dates?

You can see available dates almost immediately, a denial will not stop you from booking for visa again.

Good afternoon and compliments of the season to you. Please I'll like to know if doing a PGD in my course of study will help boost my undergraduate degree in preparations for masters applications to the USA. I'm a 2 2 graduate of Human Physiology, I know about WES evaluation and GRE (which I'll do next year). But I'm here thinking that a PGD diploma will help boost my undergraduate scores/CGPA.

For those who have had issues like this and successfully moved to the U.S., please is my plan a good one?

I look forward to all your responses. Do have a nice weekend.

Compliments of the season once again

First of all what is your CGPA on the scale of 5.0?

I think that doing PGD might be a waste of time since GRE and WES boost scores?

To access good funding, it's better to channel the money to something else like IELTS, TOEFL or Duolingo exams.

Okay, it's great that you still have your reference number.

Visit https://www.wes.org/contact-us/ and click on the Help button, then click contact us, write what you want them to do for you and make sure you include the reference number.

It should be easier if you're still in contact with the agent, so that you will collect the login details and login to your account to access the evaluation.

Hey 🤠

The bolded conclusion is based on high percentage. For example , every VOs in all countries of the world gives out visas to those going for genuine intentions ...YET THEY SEE EVERYBODY AS AN INTENDED IMMIGRANT. This is the reason the US still roll out Visa Lottery . America is very large , they still need people from all over the world because COMING TOGETHER IS THEIR FOUNDATION.

The kind of people America is looking for
=========================

1. A Ghanaian student going for PhD in History or Geography with 100% scholarship at Howard University..will have his or her visa rejected if he or she doesn't convince the CO (consular officer) beyond reasonable doubts to return and be useful for Ghana.

2. A Nigerian student with outstanding MSc degree going for PhD in Stem Cell , Molecular biology, Mathematics, etc at Oral Roberts University with no funding Will have his or her visa approved if he or she wow the CO as an outstanding scholar.

3. YOU KNOW WHAT ?

America has more that 3000 higher institutions and the CO (consular officer) sees Every PhD student as a POTENTIAL LECTURER or RESEARCHER , therefore they give the BEST BRAINS THEIR VISA because if the best brain decide to stay back in America then America is gaining the more .

4. The best brain from Nigeria high school that apply for Bsc in Computer Science , Physics, Biology, Mathematics, Medicine, etc will be given visa WITH OR WITH NO FUNDINGS (when i say best brain i mean outstanding students ).

A CO (consular officer ) was clapping for a young Nigerian girl back in the year 2014. The young girl got 9 As (A1 outstandings) in her WAEC subjects (science student) and the consular took time to verified her outstanding achievement.

5. Everything is not funding , funding , scholarships, scholarships . I NEVER SAID DON'T LOOK FOR SCHOLARSHIP Or Funds but ...issuing of your F1 visa is not based on scholarships or fundings.

Best Wishes 🙏 .

You don't know what you're saying. The world doesn't start and end in STEM courses.

The education people are pursuing abroad is first to educate and help them before helping the country hosting them.

Your post is misleading and even you knows it. You can't be telling people not to get funding for their education.

Everyone knows that having a full funding in the form of GA is the easiest way to obtaining a US visa.

Most VO won't even demand for a bank statement if your i20 has no deficit.

This is 2023 for crying out loud.

You can't be going around misleading Nairalanders.

Location: Abuja.

1st attempt: Denied in Lagos, Master’s in Health Services Research..., University of Minnesota, partial funding/GTA 9k, COA: 46K.

2nd attempt:
Program: Master’s in Applied Economics.
School: Illinois State University.
COA: $38k.
Graduate assistantship: $22k.
Deficit: $16k.

First, I want to thank the Almighty God for everything he has done. Special shout out to amazing personalities on this journey, @Fall2021 for helping me go through the DS160 form and for the encouragement on every step despite her tight schedule and @Abacinoo007. God bless you guys real good. They are testament that you cant go wrong with God on your side and having guides like them from my school application to visa approval has been nothing short of grace. Abeg, follow who know road.

And to everyone who has posted transcripts in the past to encourage people going through hard times due to delay(s). Thank you and God bless you all for guiding us with your testimonies.

The VO had denied about 4 persons before me. Heart pounding, confusion almost setting in cos some of those guys had funding with solid sponsors based on the audible conversation with the VO. I just started praying in Tongues. You know the drill for those who have been to the embassy before.

VO: Good morning.
Me: Good morning.
VO: Please pass me your documents.
Me: Here is it, please.
VO: what course are you going to study?
Me: I am going to study for a postgraduate degree in Applied Economics at Illinois State University
VO: Oh great (Looking at my DS160 form), what did you study for your first degree?
Me: Economics.
VO: what year did you finish?
Me: 2011.
VO: Why this course?
Me: The Applied Economics program differs from the traditional Economics which is focused on theory but rather focuses on data analysis, data interpretation, and data optimization which aligns with what I currently do and provides the opportunity for career advancement in attaining a Senior Research Management Position. If you look through my details, you will see that my career growth has been somewhat stagnant hence the need for this course.
VO: where do you work?
Me: I currently work as * * Associate with **** organization on a U.S.-funded project where I handle research and data analysis.
VO: Are you married?
Me: Yes.
VO: You have a child?
Me: Yes, please.
VO: I see you have a total cost of 38k, how do you intend to pay?
Me: Yeah, thank you. Aside from the full tuition waiver and GRA, I will be covering the deficit from my savings and funds in my wife’s account. We have an inherited hotel business, and she also works as a Lead on a U.S.-funded project.
VO: what will you be doing after your study?
Me: I will be returning to seek a Senior Research Management position in my line of work.
VO: Okay. Your application looks good. I will be approving your visa. He then issued me a white paper.
I did not hear anything else.

WHO DID IT? JESUS! Oh my God, Wow!
Please keep faith.

Congratulations

Hey 🤠

I don't usually respond to F1 transcripts because there are many FAKE TRANSCRIPTS ON NAIRALAND FOR ADVERTISEMENT PURPOSES ...

But i am responding to yours because.. 1. You are genuine . 2. No one has given you a near match advice . 3. I don't want you to repeat same error ..

1. Don't apply for MBA again . MBA, Mass Communication , any program that end with studies ie.... International Studies etc are counted in the USA as ; Personally Beneficial programs . There re lot of explanation on this but there is no space ....apply for MBA again if your employer is sending you over for it .

2. Are you sure you did not over-stay your B1/B2 visa when you and your department visited America the last time ? The CO (consular officer ) was supposed to ask you ...HAVE YOU TRAVELED OUT OF NIGERIA B4 ? But instead , she asked you .. EVER TRAVELED TO ANY OTHER COUNTRY ?

3. I don't know your age ranges but why is your elder sister sponsoring you for an MBA ? Was she the one who has been responsible for your academic upkeep right from the onset ? Why not MSc instead of MBA ? MBA are even for professional people (COs thinking ).

4. At the end of your transcripts , you were giving advice that future applicants should get fundings , tuition waivers etc ..who told you that ? Was it written in the Blue paper ?

NOTE ;

People may argue this , but the CO (Consular Officer) respects F1 applicants who got no fundings but whose parents or company or families have more than enough money to cater for all their academic expenses.

Those who got 100% fundings in a program that won't be beneficial to AMERICA (because they knows you may not come back again) have had their F1 visa applications rejected 😊

The COs also see those students who are agitating for application fee waivers , tuition scholarships or loan as FINANCIALLY UNCAPABLE S who may jetisson their studies while in America . Therefore, visa issuance is not based on what amount of fundings you have aquired.

The CO (Consular Officers) most times communicate with your Host-Institutions without your knowledge via your Form I 20 and from there , they decide your financial and academic backgrounds.

Best Wishes 🙏

This your advise is totally misleading. How can you say that those pursuing MBA and Communication Studies will have hard time getting a visa?

You can't be giving this kind of advise in 2023.

And also, you can't be talking against having funding, except you don't want Nairalanders to be getting visa to study in America.

This your advise no jig at all, desist from giving them.

No scholarship
4 mins approx.

VO: Please come forward
VO: Good morning
M: Good morning, how's work?
VO: It's good
VO: Pass me your passport and I-20 please
VO: Types a while... Looks at I-20... Who's sponsoring your education?
M: said it - Elder sister
VO: What does she do?
M: She's a senior Medical D of Surgery at xx.
VO: How many siblings do you have?
M: I have 3 siblings, 2 males and a female.
VO: Nodded as though in approval.
VO: Ever traveled to any other country?
M: No, I've only been to the USA in 2018 for a competition with my coursemates and our Professor and returned after 4 days to complete my BSc.
VO: Types for long, 2 mins delay.
VO: Unfortunately, at this time, you do not qualify for a visa. This letter will explain the reason. Returns passport and I-20 with blue 221G.
M: Picked my documents and walked away. No questions asked!

Probably a funding gap issue but seen someone with 32k COA and 32k funds with no other funding approved. Guess it just depends on the VO. This particular VO wasn't looking at no one's face and wasn't as friendly as the others.

5 students denied prior. 1 student granted.

I'd recommend to try get funding - scholarships, GA, GTA, GRA or tuition waivers.

Denials were flying like paper including for B1/B2.

Which course are you going for.
