Nairaland / General / Have You Heard Of Naija's Facebook? Dead Serious by naijanerd: 8:11pm On Jan 09, 2011 |
Yes o! I just stumbled across a site today called lagbook. Now you see, Nigerians really have their ways of impressing me. They call it 'Facebook in Naija style!'. The site is identical to facebook in almost all aspect, but they just included a little Nigerian feel to it. By that I mean the blue is green, 'What's on your mind?' is 'Wetin dey your mind?'. Nigerians have really outdone themselves this time. Now what is lagbook? Is it Lagos book? I also discovered that the site was once used for 'Connecting Unilag Students' according to their facebook page. Hmm, are Nigerians trying to reproduce the success of facebook which was once used by only Harvard students? Not to forget so quickly, they say 'Earn Money While Socialising'. Hmm, they claim to give their members money for adding contents on their site. Wow, Nigerians sure know how to drive traffic to their site. Lastly, will this lagbook have its way in Nigeria as facebook did? Will Nigerians embrace it the way they did facebook?
