Shocking, unknown gunmen killed a soldier on guard duty at the courtyard of former President Goodluck Jonathan situated close to the bank of the river at Otuoke, Ogbia Local Government Area, Bayelsa State.

Multiple sources said about three of the gunmen were killed by the soldiers, who foiled their attempt to break into the house.

One of the sources, who spoke in confidence, said the gunmen came through the river on five speedboats and opened fire on the soldiers.

The source said: Armed men who came in about five boats attacked the home of former President Jonathan.

A security personal attached to the former president was killed and about three of the gunmen were shot dead.

An Ogbia youth leader, who spoke in confidence, described the attack on Jonathan’s house as disturbing.



He, however, said soldiers, whose checkpoint was located at the waterside, quelled the attack but unfortunately one of them died in the process.

SOTITOBIRE Pastor Cries as court remands him in prison over the missing child(photos)

It is a bad day for the General overseer of Sotitobire miracle center Akure, Prophet Alfa Babatunde has been remanded at the olokuta correctional centre over counts of conspiracy to kidnap and aiding kidnapping

The Department of Security Service on Monday arraigned Babatunde before an Akure magistrate’s court on two counts of felony and kidnap.

He was arraigned alongside six other defendants, Omodara Olayinka Margaret Oyebola, Grace Ogunjobi, Egunjobi Motunrayo, Esther Kayode and Peter Anjorin.

The arraignment was in connection with the disappearance of a one year old boy inside Sotitobire church in November.

The mother of the child had dropped him at the creche section of the church but the boy went missing before the end of the programme.



Following rumors that the missing child was buried at the church’s altar, aggrieved youth set the church on fire.

Femi Joseph, spokesman of the Ondo police command, later said fake news led to the burning of the church.

The DSS had earlier arrested Babtunde following a petition on the missing child
