Events / Re: Pastor Demands Blood From Couple! by NET1(m): 6:38pm On Sep 10, 2010
I felt somehow depressed about my financial situation sometime early this year. My mum pestered to visit a man-of-god. Anyway, I did not object to the idea.

When I got there, (one church along stadium road, Port Harcourt) the man said that I should open my palm. I did.

After looking at my palm, he instructed me to get the following items for a once-and-for-all cleansing:

A bottle of salt
A bottle of Oil
A bottle of Water
Four padlocks
Sand from my business place, my house and from any major road in Port Harcourt - prefereably Garrison busstop or Ikwerre Road.

I got scared of the whole thing and scampered. I dont like to talk bad of men-of-god, but my mind suspected this guy.

why would he say that I should get padlock? I became afraid that he could use some mystical powers to padlock my LIFE.

Omo, na so I take run oo.

Since then, I rarely go to such places.
Romance / Re: Looking At Yourself In The Mirror Vs. Looking At Yourself In Pictures by NET1(m): 12:18pm On Sep 10, 2010
Poster, I think the mistake you made was that you pasted this in the wrong section.

But come to think of it. I thought I was the only one who had this problem: When I look at myself in the mirror, I thik I look nice, but whenever I take pictures, I just don't like what the paparazzis give to me.

Dude, you're not the only one there. But like someone already said, we could be the hard critic of ourselves.

One thing is for sure, all the media house that carried this story will not be close. If it was between 1989 to 1993 there would have been wahala because they will be closed.

Who will have the gut to ask for clarification for any issue during the same period. All the clarification we asked since that period is yet to be clarified.

If IBB is ready for clarification, let him clarify the following that happened between 1989 - 1993

1. Where did the letter bomb that killed dele giwa came from?
2. $12.8B oil money what happened to it?
3. Why was June 12 annulled?
4. c130 air craft that crashed at Ejigbo, what happened?

IBB over!!!

Brilliant post, but just a little correction, it was actually from 1985 - 1993. I think the dude should go and rest. We've had enough of him.

try to be friends with her first. that should open the doors for you to tell her your mind in a more confident manner

however, chics are different. some take a little time to say YES. others take long. your friendship with her will enable ou know her better.

But if she insists that she doesnt want you, the best thing to do is to move on and find someone else. Sometimes, chics are not so sophisticated as we think they are. if she accepts you, you may soon find out that she is a plain and 'normal' person

I wish you luck

I can see that u are kinda confused.

But i say girl, don't be despaired cos a broken heart is not a broken dream. Dust yasef up and move on. Better still, cast your net once more, who knows? dis might be a blessing in disguise.

When people can walk away from you, let them walk cos your destiny is never tied to anyone that left.
People leave you cos they are not joined to you. And if they weren't joined to you, you can't make them stay.
And it doesn't mean that they are bad persons, but simply means that their part in the story is over. And you've got to know when people's part in your story is over so that you don't keep trying to raise the dead.

part in bold is still funny to me. lol cheesy

You're still emotionally attached to the guy. I dont think he still wants you.

Sweetie, brace yourself and move on. Life is too short to be wasted thinking about past moments when you can create a greater future for yourself.

My advice: MOVE ON

Politics / I Killed Soboma George With The Rifles He Gave Us: by NET1(m): 10:36am On Sep 01, 2010
A man who claimed to be Pere Fiofori and who has been declared wanted by the police in Rivers State yesterday called THISDAY to claim that he actually killed the leader of the outlaws, Mr. Soboma George, for threatening his life.

Pere, who said he was talking to THISDAY to state his own side before the Commissioner of Police, Suleiman Abba, “kills me”.

He alleged that he fell out with George, his former boss, when he sent them to kill the former Deputy Governor of Bayelsa, State, Peremobowei Ebebi, and gave them three rifles with which to do the job but when they refused to carry out the assignment, he threatened to kill them.

He said in pidgin English: “I am Pere Fiofori, the person wey the Commissioner of Police declare wanted for killing Soboma George. Yes, na me gangan kill am. I shoot am with the gun he give us. He said we should kill Ebebi, former Deputy Governor of Bayelsa, but we refuse since the thing fall outside amnesty period.

“He gave us three rifles to kill Ebebi but as we refuse, and he started to threaten us. He killed one of us Godswill Worlu alias small boy danger or Kefas at Cassablanca in GRA, till now we never see on or his moto. He went with his boys wey wear SARS uniform. That boy submitted 49 AK 47 rifles during the amnesty time.

“All the bad bad things and high killing of people in Rivers State na Soboma George dey do am. Na him kill Charles Nsiegbe at Chris Tower with some of his boys wey wear police uniform. Na him kill Amadi Wali, the Uniport CSO say him carry soldiers come him house. Since that time, he has used his boys called Peter, Olu Araba and George to harass and kill innocent people.

“Police for SARS for Borokiri dey work with am and anybody wey him wan down, dem go help am but the thing wey I wan tell you be say na with the gun him give us na him I take kill am and the three rifles are still with me.”

Pere also alleged that George was behind the killing of Sotonye Briggs, the head of Vikings at Bonny Street, on the ground that he was not respecting him.

On how THISDAY would know that he is real, he said he would have come to meet with the reporter if not that he is now in hiding, disclosing that he keeps his phones off and would only be the one to call when the need arises.

He also admitted that the other people named by the police were with him in the same place but that they contacted THISDAY to let the world know what happened. He would not say if they would submit themselves to the police.

The police had, after announcing the death of Soboma, disclosed that they had recovered his body and named some of his former lieutenants as those behind the killing.
Although George headed Outlaws, the police said he was killed by a splinter group from the Icelanders.

Politics / Re: Group Condemns Order For Prisoners’ Execution by NET1(m): 5:21pm On Jun 21, 2010
Let me give you a near-clear picture of the situation:

There are over 40,000 (Forty Thousand) prisoners all over the country.

Out of this number, over 18,000 have not been to court. This means that they have not even been tried.

Still out of the 40,000 only about 800 are on DEATH ROW.

How does the execution of about 800 people de-congest the prisons in Nigeria? 40,000 minus 800 = 39200. Still a large number. I really dont know who gave Jonathan this advice, but whoever that person is, I think he is a jackass.

My advice (in fact, a popular suggestion):

BUILD more prisons across Nigeria. Transfer the inmates from highly congested prisons to newer ones.
Take the over 18000 untried cases to COURT.
Allow the DEATHROW inmates to appeal their cases; in view of getting fair, unbiased verdicts.
Commute DEATH Sentences to LIFE Sentences. Most developed countries (especially in Europe) have abolished CAPITAL punishment.

@Poster

Your post is quite bland coz it lacks substance. You didn't state any concrete reason why this is happening other than he now has a girlfriend.Congratulations to him but i think it's the following that happened :

(1)He stepped up his game and is more confident with women
(2)It's universal knowledge that women want things they can't have and are attracted to men that other women want
(3)Most important of all, HE GOT PAID! ! !

Wish him the best. . . (did i just say that, lol grin)

I quite agree with steps 1 & 2.

I said i will not insult anyone on nairaland and be civil. If you think most of those robberies in the East are perpetrated by easterners please change your orientation.I can tell you that these guys come as far as from the north and west.

I dont even care where the criminals come from. Be it the East, West, North or South, that aint no path to the solution. All of them should taken the hell out!

My argument is this: What is the purpose of electing (abi selecting) a government that cannot offer basic security of lives to it's citizens? Crime exists everywhere - even in the US but their government works hard enough to stamp out criminals and create a better society.
