Re: After M.a.c Make Up What Else? by socool1(f): 1:16am On Jun 09, 2006 |

Re: After M.a.c Make Up What Else? by hotangel2(f): 1:19am On Jun 09, 2006 |
Ohh, well u should go to the beauty store and find something. Btw, be careful. SInce MAC is working for you, i don't think u should change it. U could try something else and spoil ur skin. |

Another range that suits darker skin really nicely is the becca range, I used iman until my local counter closed, and then I found becca. Prescriptives is also good as they can mix blends specifically to suit your skin. For lipsticks I tend to stick with mac and nars, |

After Mac, other good products are Iman, Bobby Brown, mary K,maybeline.thats ok for now. you could also try sonya colour collection. but just make sure you get the real ones cause there are alot of fake products out there. Cheers. |

M.A.C, personally I think this brand of cosmetic is over rated and does not cater for dark complexion.M.A.C. tend to base their choice of colour based on the undertone of your skin, which many at times they match it to a pink undertone. We are all aware that dark skinned ladies have more of an earth tone, yellowish undertone. It is evident to disguise from a distance that one is wearing MAC cosmetics, since it gives this heavy, runway kinda feel to it. What having experimented with other cosmetics, I would advise ladies of our descent to use either of the following (again my mouth is not the Bible, you are free to disagree) 1. Tally Young cosmetic line 2. Fashion Fair 3. Mary Kay 4. Cover Girl 5. Iman |

what about black opal products, are they not good enough, they are good on me |
Re: After M.a.c Make Up What Else? by neelsel(f): 4:17pm On Dec 19, 2006 |
nnowa, I meant to add Black Opal to my list as well. They have a great line of products as well. I have discovered that far too many dark skinned women are using products that were developed with white people in mind, thus instead of presenting a well balance made-up face, they look like corpse. |

neelsel: well, i was wondering if no one knew of black opal, all of their products suits me, dnt av a problem wif them, but i love M.A.C's lipgloss, @ so cool, my advise is dat u dnt change ur makeup, if ur having issues wif sme of the cosmetics, den u can change bt if not, stick to it like glue, cos changing means ur skin will start to adjust to a new set of chemicals, and to d ladies out der dat sleep with makeup on, its not healthy oo, it causes fast aging, pls dnt drink so u can remember to remove ur make up b4 goin to bed, LOL(bt am serious) |

I'll go with Mary Kay anyday, anytime! They have a very wide range of products to suit any skin texture or colour. The products are so natural & long-lasting. I use their even-tone cream, foundation, powder, lipgloss, mascara, eye & lip-pencils. They are just the bomb |

haven't u heard of "back-up" make-up. it's new and it covers better than "mac" make-up. i think u'll have better results with it. |

I LOVE MAC it's really good, and matches my shade perfectly, Nars is really good, Becca, clinique is aiight, but i didn't like the stickiness and it made me look so pale. Um i m thinking of buying iman, they've got a nice range of colours, i wanna look for a tan/darker shde that i can use as a bronzer as well. Oh yes bobbi brown is kinda cool as well, i used to use the foundation stick and the compact, they're shades are excellent especially if you have a darker complexione. oh and my current muse Lancome, absolutely love it! thay do all shades, wonderful! Im a MAKEUP ADDICT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |

Mary Kay Products are very nice.Their lipsticks are so natural and beautiful,Their lip gloss, eye colour, foundation and pressed powder really lovely. It has a way of blending with your skin colour. Fortunately we import directly from America to Nigeria so there's no problem of scarcity for us.I was using LA colors but Mary Kay sure is the bomb.Really beautiful for dark skin. |
