@ Publisher: Thank you.
@ Ranoscky:  I did not know there was a contest between Gbawe and I. But, 'thank' you too. I really cannot beat his 'logic'. Ever heard the saying 'never argue with a fool'? Why? Because people will not know who the fool is. With citizens like you, it is no wonder Nigerian is sinking in its own self-glorification. This is the last I will say about this topic.

Response from Gbawe to pafuri: "When you don't know me and you confidently make statements as seen above , it is obvious that , as an irredeemable self-hater , all Nigerians are guilty as charged of one thing or another."

A great pair.

Nigeria's population: +120 Million (300 Million in 30 years according to UNIDO)
Overpopulated urban centers with no infrastructure aspiring or already calling themselves mega-cities. Lack of infrastructure makes them huge villages.

Likely effect :Spill-over into neighboring countries.
Ghana is the nearest english-speaking country (linguistic affinity).
Go to Ghana for business, settle down, bring wife and children, and with Nigerians proliferating like mice, transplant your problems to Ghana.Ghana is supposed to sidon look just while the number of Nigerians eventually surpass that of the citizens of Ghana in their very own country.

Typical Ghanaian. Always working with personal fantasy/ideology than facts. The official figure is +150 million and every Nigerian knows that. Pretending to be Nigerian , on a Nigerian forum
, just shows the type of deciet we want Innoson to avoid. Keep decieving yourself that Nigeria is just about "overpopulated urban centers with no infrastructure" . The truth you Ghanaians fail to face is that Nigeria has been unlucky with leadership. That consideration does not diminish the greatness of Nigerians as individuals. I think this is what you Ghanaians , rather than embrace and learn from, are extremely fearful and envious of to the point of xenophobia.

As we are seeing today , xenophobia is a dangerous mix allied with your colonial mentality (love/worship of fair skin/white man inspired by inferiority complex) because it is making you ignore how your Country is being taken over by folks from outside Africa while you focus solely on fighting Nigerians. Those folks are ripping off Ghana massively while you foolishly focus exclusively on the "invaders" who actually (in most cases) interact fairly with Ghanaians . I buy Brocoli for my kids at Asda/Tesco/Morrison supermarket in the UK for 50 pence to £1(around 1 Cedi and 2 Cedis) yet Koala and Shoprite in Ghana (Lebanese and South African owned supermarket) sell the same Brocoli for around 19 cedis and 13 cedis respectively  shocked shocked!!!!! If Ghanaians are not keen to get involved , does it make sense to frustrate a Nigerian/Liberian who wants to bring Brocoli to Ghana for 5 Cedis?

Even with good leadership and an enabling environment, Ghanaians remain unstimulated and unmotivated . They do not even take advantage of the most basic of opportunities in Ghana yet they resent it when Nigerians and other Africans try to get involved in the sectors they shun !!! Ghanaians , these days, prefer to be overcharged massively by the Lebanese, Indians, Chinese et al than to recieve good value from a Nigerian. We are sseeing this with Glo.

Yet Ghanaians are in Nigeria everyday understudying everything Fashola does !!! Virtually every Nigerian Presidential candidate is talking about deregulation of the power sector in the clearest signal that , sooner or later , it will happen. With constant electricity you will see potentials becoming reality. Ghana had GSM technology before Nigeria . Today, can you compare the telecom sector in Ghana and Nigeria ? You foolishly fail to understand that xenophobia is no way to combat the fear of domination by foreigners. If Ghanaians themselves utilise opportunities in their own Country properly  most foreigners will only come to Ghana as temporary tourists.  Rather than bore us with your talk you should go and galvanise your people to be more innovative, ambitious and outgoing instead of being protectionist, hateful , colonially enslaved and envious bystanders .

If you were intelligent and exposed you will realise that , with Ghanaians shunning various business opportunities in their own nation, Foreigners will naturally gravitate towards Ghana.  It is better for West Africans to be the beneficiary of ignored opportunities than non-Africans because West Africans are more likely to care about delivering value to Ghanaians than the non-Africans who come to Ghana and fail to interact with Ghanaians except when collecting their money. I don't think Innoson will make a Nigerian base model for $2,000 only to provide Ghana with a base model car for $10,500 same as TATA of India is currently doing !!!!!

@ Publisher : Is this scenario plausible?

Highly plausible but your hateful mind won't allow you to appreciate that. We all flock to the UK and the USA because everything is in place i.e good governance+ decent infrastructure+ a driven, motivated and innovative populace.

What revolutionary or exemplary things have Ghanaians done with good governance and relatively stable electricity over the past 10 years?

Yet Nigeria , with very serious and self-inflicted challenges Ghana does not have , manages to still produce some of the most brilliant, most driven and most innovative individuals in Africa !!! What , even in your hateful mind , do you think Nigeria will become if it gains good leadership and constant electricity? My brother , It is the people themselves that make a nation great. Stop allowing yourself to be fooled by self-hating Nigerians who massage your inferiority complex and underperforming/indolent attitude . Even with all the negative noise , great things are going on in Nigeria today. It is instructive that Ghanaians are in always in Lagos understudying Fashola's innovations (waste-to-wealth, BRT, , etc) when folks like you wan't to paint Nigeria as stagnant .

Like I advised before "Rather than bore us with your talk you should go and galvanise your people to be more innovative, ambitious and outgoing instead of being protectionist, hateful , colonially enslaved and envious bystanders" .

Electricity , good governance, security and infrastructure are challenges that can be surmounted . You should worry about the more intrinsic challenge that involves innate attitude that makes a people unstimulated and lacking in ambition , innovation and 'take control' mentality .

Nigerians and Ghaneans should be united. The europeans have european union (which is the european community = common unity). The Indians and Chinese have unity amongst themselves , they also have a good economy , China is the new super power, forget America. We Africans are the only species that will side another species against their own.  You will not see a Chinese person side with a Hindu against another Chinese, neither will you see an Hindu side with a Chinese against another Hindu.  You will not see a Cat side with a dog against another cat, neither will you see a dog side with a cat against another dog.  You will not see a rat side with a cat against another rat, neither will you see a cat side with a rat against another cat. We African are the only species on the planet that will side with another species, be it Asian, European or Arab against their own. Nigerians and Ghaneans should be united.

Re: Ghana Woos Innoson Auto Plant With Incentives by Liedetect: 11:10am On Aug 09, 2010
Since when did Ghana people think of themselves as better than anyone? Those people are full of inferiority complex. The thing, which is happening, is that they, Ghana people, have many Caribbean/African Americans egging them on. Carib/Africans who do not like the fact that they cant patronize Nigerians and that Nigerians stand up to them. Carib/African Americans who seem to believe, erroneously, that they originate from Ghana. These caribs/African Americans, friends of Ghana, make Nigerians their enemy and so Ghanaians too make Nigerians their enemy in keeping with the false pact.

Then you have the Oyibo element. They, Ghana people, have a deep Uncle Tom complex. Given half the chance their country would be a meritocracy in which the highest merit is bestowed on the person with the lightest colour. In this environment, the Oyibo, Asian etc have found their Idaho.

In Nigeria, a part of what some people call corruption, is the act of Nigerians playing Oyibo at their own game. The White investor at work or play would love to associate most with his own kind; he would dearly love the beach all to himself and his own kind, same with business if he can help it. He, Oyibo investor, would prefer to have lunch with the Oyibo owners of the exploitative enterprises in the generic African town. He, Oyibo, dose not want to be in a place where the uppity Black person thinks of himself as his equal. He dose not want to rub shoulders with the natives if he can help it. In Africa, increasingly, he cannot help it. However, in Ghana he can.  The Oyibo finds in Ghana more of the type of world he wants. He also has a nation full of docile people who can’t compete. In addition, to sweeten the Ghanaman, he gives him what he craves. He gives the Ghanaman handouts and praises. He tells him that he is a good little African unlike those Nigerians.

And what are the Nigerians like? Well, the Oyibo will not tell you exactly. However, if you understand that Oyibo does not like the obvious, and that his words are full of double meanings, you can sometimes decipher what he means. The following are a few rough translations as pertains to the African environment:

Aggressive = competitive.

Uppity = Argumentative

Corrupt = he/she does not merely accept bribery, as a good little African should, he/she shops around for the highest briber.  In fact, he/she has turned the simple act of bribery into such a complex game, no one knows if they are coming or going. He/she has so ruined this unspoken gentleman’s agreement of a club that it has become more expensive to bribe than to play it straight. This would not be so bad if playing it straight was not so prohibitive. Ah, for those simple days of beads and mirrors

Nice = passive

Kind = silly

Ignorant = stubborn

Underdeveloped = has not yet been enslaved by the capitalist system

Then you have a third aspect, which is based on the shadow Nigeria casts over the West African region. In his Ghanaian psyche, Ghana’s progress is dependent on Nigeria’s demise. Never mind all that fake talk about being overwhelmed by refugees from Nigeria.

All of the above exasperate the natural homegrown xenophobia, which is informed by fear of being overrun and whose manifestations we see expressed in hostility towards Liberians, Nigerians etc.

Anyway, what I am trying to say is rather complex and would require several very thick volumes to do justice. Nevertheless, make no mistake what I am saying is very real.  People like Gbew, others who are business people, bankers, economists, diplomats, professionals in their fields, have sophisticated models to draw upon. In that world of detail, the overall narrative is lost. I am a fan of the narrative.

Gbawe, Star beer is a GHANAIAN beer born/brewed in Kumasi! Hint: "star" as in the BLACK STAR on our national flag.

Nigeria is however licensed to brew Star beer: "Nigerian Breweries brew under license Star, Gulder, Heineken, Tiger Bock, Kronenbourg and several local beer brands, both ale and stout types."

Typical deciet from biased Ghanaians eager to claim what does not belong to them . Star was always brewed under licence from Heineken in Ghana. It was not "born/brewed" in Ghana. In fact the situation of Star in Nigeria is precisely the same i.e Star is brewed under licence from Heinekens in Nigeria also. Star may have being the accepted "national beer of Ghana" but that does not mean Ghanaians can lay more claims to it than others . Star is not Nigerian or Ghanaian but clearly , at some stage, and because Star was first brewed in Nigeria 11 years before it entered the Ghanaian Market , Ghanaians naturally viewed Star as a Nigerian beer to support my initial argument over how Ghanaians shunned Star in preference of the beer that is "truly Ghanaian".

http://www.ghana-pedia.org/org/index.php?option=com_directory&page=viewListing&lid=75&Itemid=36

Star Lager Beer, produced by Guinness Ghana Breweries LTD under licence by Heineken International, is arguably Ghana's most popular alcoholic beverage.

Despite it's availability in other West African countries, such Sierra Leone, and production & availability in Nigeria, Star Lager Beer has achieved 'icon' status as the national beer of Ghana.

Star Lager Beer is generally available in 330ml & 625ml bottles in Accra, and is widely available at most outlets that sell beverages in Ghana, including petrol stations, 'chop' bars, and restaurants. It can also occasionally be found in African-themed shops located in Europe & the United States.

PhysicsQED:

grin grin grin Not entirely true. I stumbled upon Abrantie's response when I searched for the Innoson thread in a discussion with a few friends over 'Friday night pepper soup'. I cannot let decietful lies be held up as proof that I am "hating" . See as the bobo even aligned the name "Star" with the Black Star in Ghana's flag shamelessly yet they say Nigerians are the 4.19ners !!!!

Star was first brewed in Nigeria in 1949:

http://www.firstglobalselect.com/scripts/cgiip.wsc/globalone/htm/news_article.r?vcnews-id=245

STAR was introduced into the Nigerian market on 2 June 1949 as the first indigenous beer brand;

Star was introduced to the Ghanaian market in 1960:

http://allafrica.com/stories/200710160973.html

Star Lager, which was introduced into the Ghanaian market in 1960,

So how on Earth can Star have being named after the Black Star in Ghana's flag when the same brand name , "Star", already existed in Nigeria 11 yeas earlier ? Some folks forget that lies can be easily exposed through the use of the powerful research tool the internet now represents . It is too easy dealing with the likes of Abrantie. As I said on another thread , with the Ghana-Nigeria squabbles, the flow of factual information is mostly one way. Nigerians tend to rely on facts and actual experience of Ghana while Ghanaians , emotionally , limit themselves to fabrication and ignorantly biased information gained from anti-Nigerian sources.
