Almost all the Korean girls are in high school at age 14, 15 etc.
Nigerian girls are the "youngest" at 14, 15 16 etc and they are all playing pro in Pelican Stars, Delta Queens etc,
Does this mean nigerian girls no longer attend secondary school?
If they do, at what age did they leave sec school?

Dem nor go secondary school ni grin wink

Whatever, I'm still happy some good players were discovered with this competition. . . .Loveth Ayila, Ngozi Okobi, Winifred Eyebhohiria and the captain Oluchi Ofoegbu should be given double promotion to the Senior National Team, the Super Falcons. Make the rest go hussle for the U-19 team.

God bless you. For me I am happy the Nigerian U-17 women were beaten by the Korean girls.
The cheating this time was simply too much. some of our girls even look older than the referee, may be that explains why the ref annoyingly gave the koreans that penalty.

i didn't watch this game live.

but after seeing the highlight, other than the unjustified penalty the referee awarded the koreans and the korean's second goal, which was clearly an offside,
the goalkeeper, the porous defense, and lack of tactical skill on our team's side were part of the reasons they lost this match.    sad

Retards like the guy above T@meD0 are the problem Africa as a whole has today, I agree we fielded over aged players but dont tell me we where the only ones, in all honesty the only team that had a 19 yr old gal in this competition would have to be the hosts, It was quite glaring that those korean "girls" where above 19 or 20, We shouldnt just believe anything a caucasian or asian tells you without consulting your brain, that would just make you a RETARD!!!

When people run dry on logic, they resort to foul language. Grow up man, you can still struggle to make what looks like a point(though very difficult in this case) without going so low. You agreed that our girls are over aged and still went ahead to call me a retard, how confused can one get?

There is hardly any nigerian age grade team that has not been found wanting in this area, but sometimes if the age difference falls within certain margins, then it can be managed. In the case of these girls, that look almost older than our recent u-20 team, it is impossible for someone like me to ignore.

Almost all the korean girls are in school, while ours play for pelican stars ,rivers angels, omidiran babes as full professionals, the irony of it is that on paper most of our girls are still 14yrs old . what a joke? did you see the south african team?

People like you need to understand that you can still be patriotic and have intergrity. They are not mutually exclusive.

Terribly sorry if my comments came across as an insult, heck it was an insult, anyway I am sorry but i somehow find it very difficult to believe those Korean Ladies still play in secondary school,Asians are naturally little individuals and tend to capitalize on that fact to make some outrageous claims,it has been scientifically proven that to an extent the older a woman gets the stronger she is "I said to an extent, lol" but if you observed closely you can tell that those Korean so called girls matched out girls strength for strength, i know i cant force you to budge out of your point of view, and its good you have an opinion of your own,  but i just feel the high school thing is a hoax.

And yes i felt ashamed of the 14yrs thing too grin

It was a bit saddening that we lost out finally to Korea, I wished my girls played on to the end but football I have come to realize is one unpredictable game in which the best team can come last while the worst comes out victorious. The game is probable as a rolling ball which can roll to any direction, even Germany that were pouring out goals were shocked to tears when they bowed out too. I was looking forward to a finals between Nigeria and Germany but it seems the Asian teams are the lucky teams for now. Football is 20% skill and 80% luck, take it from me. I don't take games to heart. It is only but a game , let nobody despair . I rejoice when we win and when we don't I remain happy for the other winners so I am still enjoying the remaining matches though I hate to see those lil girls cry tears of broken dreams when they were knocked out! All hail my girls as they board the plane to return home, safe journey to them as they cross that big big Ocean.

Lord we re clearly outnumbered, they have 12 players on the feild. GOD pls be our 12th player in Jesus name. The fight in these girls inspires me, rising above their mistakes, overcoming the feeling of being cheated, giving 105%

As much as I know nothing about God, and considering what I have read about Jesus, I would like to believe they don't support disgraceful cheats like Nigerian "under"age teams. Don't be calling on them, dem no go listen.  cheesy

So funny you saying the Nigerian women were cheated. Who cheat first?  grin Armed robber wey go do night raid on a neighbourhood come dey go flog wares for Alaba the next day dey talk about being robbed unfairly when police stop am for road collect N200 for not having receipt for wares being carried.  grin

THANK YOU KOREA FOR WHOPPING THEIR CHEATING ARSE!  cheesy

Oshe, oshe o, oshe o, oshe baba.  grin grin grin grin grin grin grin grin grin grin grin grin grin grin

If you go and find out, you will find they all finished secondary school in ages between 8 to 11.

Almost ALL our "under"-age footballers, male and female, always appear not only to be athletically gifted but also at the same time academically gifted like Einstein as they set world records of youngest age to finish school whilst also being a professional athlete at a young age. Although they do not normally have the ability to speak good English despite their academic genius.  grin

Aghahowa finished secondary school at 6 and was working for the Police by 11 and was their main striker in the football team.  grin I think he must have used 4 months to finish nursery school and 2 years for Primary.  grin grin grin

Sick Sick Sick Shameless country.

anything age grade competition does not inspire me. we will do well but the player fade faster than you will say jack Robinson. where are the boys that won the under 17 in 2007? where are the under 17 of last year?
i stumbled on one of the flamingos matches and i saw player i coached in 1999. at that time, she had finished secondary school in Abadina College in Ibadan. i know her family very well and siblings. so, do the maths. how long will this under 17 play before she quits? the truth is, Nigeria age grade teams is a huge joke!!!!

Majority are probably playing 2nd division football in Hungary.

And so?

Are you saying she could not have finished secondary school at the age of 6?

Do you have solid evidence that 6 year olds can not finish secondary school?

So what if you knew her in 1999 and knew she had finished secondary school then? You are basing your judgment about her age based on little information, drawing para-logical conclusions and being stuck with observations and conclusions reached several decades ago.

Didn't you see those Nigerian kids in the UK (the Imafidions) at the ages of 10 or so passing GCSEs?

So what if she looks older than the age she claims, is it not because of hard life that our youths look older than the ages they claim? Our 10 year olds even look 23 when it comes to football, it is just "athlete development" specific to Nigeria.  grin

Stop selling our compatriots and nation cheaply!!!  angry

Why are you trying to ridicule our national heroes, you unpatriotic ************?

Change countries if you don't want Nigeria to be great.  grin grin grin grin grin grin grin grin grin grin grin grin grin grin grin grin grin grin grin grin grin grin grin

GREAT NATION, GREAT CHEATERS!  grin

God help me with the morons and their moronic arguments I have seen on NL: https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-511986.64.html
