Kobojunkie: Lol hehehe, I am not that naive. I was only joking with my analogy and religious phrase. Fayemi, may steal? *faints* Gbawe: YES O! |

Ileke-IdI: Well, I don't believe anyone is clean until I can prove they are(Nigerian politicians). All I know is that a former NIGERIAN lecturer was suddenly able to claim they have assets in the over $2 millions after serving only about 5 years in office. I think that raises a flag in any person who knows of the salary pay in Nigeria PRE-Oil Boom. Until only few years ago, houses in Nigeria didn't come close to the average obtained in foreign countries, and on the major part, most of the houses claimed as assets in Nigeria are PAID FOR in cash, not mortgaged. Now, if another comes up to claim to have just as much, it makes absolute sense for people to ask where the money came from, and how. I know you are sort of partial when it comes to this particular man, but let COMMON SENSE REIGN SUPREME! |

Kobojunkie: I previously question where the money came from and how from my previous posts. However, just because I dont have the answer yet does not make him guilty. Just questionable. Yes, I find it hard that whole Ekiti man like Fayemi would steal after what he had said about Oni. But let's what and listen for Fayemi to open his lips and entertain us again. |
Re: Fayemi Declares N750m Assets •deputy Declares N1.2bn by Gbawe: 9:33pm On Dec 22, 2010 |
Ileke-IdI: Indeed. As per equity, we should try and see all sides of the coin. Sure Nigerians are suffering from how their wealth is looted unfairly but that does not mean we call every wealthy individual a thief. That would be socialism with a demonic zeal. Fayemi , till now , and as far as I know , has not held any prominent Public office. In this case , at the very least , we must concede that there can be many explanation for his wealth. Very different , for example , to the case of a politician who went into public office with N20,000 only to then become one of Africa's wealthiest men 8 years later. |

Re: Fayemi Declares N750m Assets •deputy Declares N1.2bn by Kobojunkie: 10:07pm On Dec 22, 2010 |
Ileke-IdI:No one has said he is GUILTY of anything to this point, None! So, may I ask that you sheath your sword please and go back to being NON BIASED as always! I do QUESTION his claim and wonder how exactly he came to owning almost $5 million dollars worth of assets, especially in NIGERIA, not ABROAD. Also notice that there is NO MENTION of there being a MORTGAGE of any kind attached to the properties Abroad, so lets not now pretend Nigerians are not known for purchasing properties outright abroad as well. So, . . . Why do I get the feeling you are already concluding that by asking questions people are essentially calling him a thief? Ileke-IdI:Good that you find it hard, I don’t find it hard to believe that he can steal. I question his claims and I will probably not believe until I see more details on how exactly he was able to acquire almost $5 million living in Nigeria, and with no seriously established business venture out there to claim. |

@Gbawe, Thanks for the clarification. It is good to get a bit more insight on potential politicians, and for those who know them more to come out and clarify issues. I am very conversant wiht the Tony Blair issue, but we must to forget that he was already a very successful lawyer, with his wife, befoer he went into politics, beside we know the sort of consultancy deals that await ex-pm's when they leave. It is a shame that we dont have this sort of transparency in Nigeria, but all the same your information is very useful. |
Re: Fayemi Declares N750m Assets •deputy Declares N1.2bn by Nobody: 10:29pm On Dec 22, 2010 |
Kobojunkie: I also questioned how he and the deputy came about their asset. She is in the billions for Kristi sake. We all know that if Mrs. Olayinka had been devious with Oni, Oni would have let it out after the end of his tenure. So how did I still appear biased? Are his claimed assets not those of Fayemi and his wife's? What does his wife do and how does she contribute money? Because the tone of your post many others here suggested that y'all think Fayemi is a thief. Good that you find it hard, I don’t find it hard to believe that he can steal. I question his claims and I will probably not believe until I see more details on how exactly he was able to acquire almost $5 million living in Nigeria, and with no seriously established business venture out there to claim. Ok, until then. |
Re: Fayemi Declares N750m Assets •deputy Declares N1.2bn by Kobojunkie: 10:34pm On Dec 22, 2010 |
Ileke-IdI: Please do not give me that "the tone of my post" BULL. ROFLMAO!!! My tone on this, is no different from my tone on others that you have agreed with me with. Just that in this case, you seem all too willing to tread softly. How come you are all too willing to look suspiciously at Mrs Olayinka's claims but not willing to look, with the same EYES, at Fayemi's declarations? The man's man not be in the billions yet but it is close. Jonathan alone claimed to have assets high in the $2 millions right after he served as governor(and this was excluding his wives) portion. This set for Fayemi seems to belong to him and his wife, so yes, we also have to QUESTION how his wife came about her share of the loot, not excuse it. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kayode_Fayemi |

Re: Fayemi Declares N750m Assets •deputy Declares N1.2bn by Kobojunkie: 10:40pm On Dec 22, 2010 |
AH!!!! Na wa oo!!! ROFLMAO!!! The word Loot is synonymous with MONEY, CASH, ASSET, WEALTH etc |
Re: Fayemi Declares N750m Assets •deputy Declares N1.2bn by Nobody: 10:41pm On Dec 22, 2010 |
Kobojunkie: Yea, but when Nigerians [i.e Kobojunkie] uses that word, they refer to stolen items such as the ones you mentioned above. |
Re: Fayemi Declares N750m Assets •deputy Declares N1.2bn by Kobojunkie: 10:43pm On Dec 22, 2010 |
Ileke-IdI: NO, you are wrong! You choose to READ INTO MY POSTS what you will. I rarely declare people guilty of any crime without some proof of it. Example, I have posted on Jonathan over and over, but no where do I have it that he is guilty of stealing, only made it clear that I am suspicious of the validity of the numbers he declared there. That you are able to READ YOUR OWN thoughts into it does not make it mine, and that is one thing I can definitely say people do a lot of here. Rather than asking questions, we jump to so many baseless conclusions here. The word Loot refers to money, wealth, asset. If you want it to mean STOLEN ITEMS to you, that is all you, not me. |

This asset declaration just showed that Fayemi is also a crook like his god father Tinubu. . . . . He just inflated his worth so as to create more room for his potential loots. . . . He should tell Ekiti people how he made that amount of money through his consultancy services as a war expert/abi democracy expert . . iol. |

I am a cynic (as far as this Nigerian project goes) and i have no apologies. This man may be worth what he says or not, the truth is that once you become a Nigerian politician, i stop believing EVERY word that comes out of your mouth. Believing a Nigerian politician diminishes my humanity. This man is worth 750million after contesting an election (you know how much elections cost in naija) and spending three years in court? How much was he worth before the election? Like i said he may be right or fooling us but i am unable to believe a word they say. |

dayokanu: Ok . . . can you provide us with details on the earnings of this "international consultancy" service? I know of a couple other people who are into the same but they do not come close to being worth $5 million, even those here in the states. So, it would be interesting to learn of how much more the governor's own firm has been successful and all. |

Ekiti people really need deliverance from all these fake professors and politicians mortgaging their future . . From Ayo fayose to Segun Oni, another tenderfoot rogue has now declared a non existing asset to the tone of N750 million. |

While not holding brief for anyone, rather than blind criticism, anyone questioning his source of wealth can as well take a trip or get someone to help him/her go to the Magistrate Court in Ado-Ekiti to get the details of his worth. This IMHO is a better way of constructive criticism than staying online to trade brickbats. I also believe this was the official response of Fayemi to the official statement of PDP. He said it is public document and it contains how everything was bought and owned by himself and his wife. About the NEWS magazine interview, he said "at a point" he had N5000 in his personal account and had to rely on his wife for support. Does this mean he and his wife were both broke? Even as normal humans, we have times we put in money into something and are broke for a while, does that mean we are forever poor? Land appreciation, inflation-adjusted values etc are numerous factors since liquid cash is only a small fraction of the assets. Bill Gates being worth $50bn plus doesn't equate to same amount in liquid cash, afterall Michael Jackson was broke in liquid cash but still worth over $500m in assets. Lastly, with regards to the deputy governor's assets and worth, without applying these same standards, we can do well to focus on more important issues of development. Afterall the assets were listed as hers and her husband's. |

^^^ Oooh give it a rest please!!! This is not to be turned into an US vs THEM battle some sort. if you do not have answers simply state you do not and move. You only insult yourself when you try to produce, as some have already attempted, silly excuses for why people should believe what their politicians tell them. Problem with most all PICK AND CHOOSE when and whom to believe and whom not to believe, simply based on PERSONAL BIAS and nothing more. So you want to compare Bill gates and Micheal Jackson to your politicians most of whom has no enterprising businesses on their resumes prior to becoming politicians? Why don't you apply the formulae you have above to explaining how logical it is then for Andy Ubah to be worth the over 1 thrillion he claimed he was worth back about 2007? jeezz If you know of his financials and his wives enough to show that he needs to be believed, print the information for all to see, else MOVE ON .ORG |
Re: Fayemi Declares N750m Assets •deputy Declares N1.2bn by msaalli(m): 6:48pm On Dec 23, 2010 |
Apparently, the analogy of the argument is lost on you. Not turning to US vs THEM as I "neither" know any of them nor care to anyways. Just thinking we, as the future of Nigeria, should move beyond criticism for the sake of it, not when those being criticised have not only opened their books but told us all where to view the books. It is akin to criticising a movie based on the preview without watching it in its entirety, while available at the movies. Or a novel based on its 10-line description, when it is available in some bookstore. |

If you do not have answers, rather than expecting people to suddenly do things as you prefer, it would probably be best for you to MOVEON ==> |

Re: Fayemi Declares N750m Assets •deputy Declares N1.2bn by Kobojunkie: 7:54pm On Dec 23, 2010 |
Ileke-IdI: But it is about believing or not believing, well at least for myself. The reason I question the declarations is because I am having a hard time here believing the numbers being thrown around are close to reality. I mean isn't that why one would even question anything? So many have come up with possibilities but not much else and so I still do not believe. And I wait to be convinced . . . who knows, by wikileaks possibly.lol Whether he is guilty or not or whatever crime we want to talk of, that is another topic entirely. |
