Don’t worry, the housemates for the upcoming sixth season of the Big Brother Africa will not only be gulping down Coca Cola products; they will still have their alcohol, get loose and create all the drama and exciting TV viewing moments that Africa has grown to love. Africa’ biggest reality series and Coca Cola are uniting in an exciting new partnership around the upcoming BIG BROTHER AMPLIFIED. The world’s largest soft drink brand has become a headline sponsor for M-Net’s 91 day reality super-series set to launch on DStv on Sunday May 1.

According to M-Net Africa Managing Director Biola Alabi, the relationship between the two companies opens a fresh new future for the Big Brother Africa franchise. “We are thrilled that Coca Cola, one of the most innovative and iconic companies on the globe has formed a strategic alliance with M-Net for what is our most dynamic show on the continent. This is a testament to the power of this series and the enduring popularity it enjoys with audiences through Africa for its themes of African unity, cultural diversity and fun entertainment.”

She goes on to say, “M-Net is confident that with Coca Cola we can bring to Big Brother fans, whose loyalty to and enthusiasm for the series is the driving force behind its success, a fantastic fresh new season of Big Brother!”

Coca-Cola Nigeria marketing director, Austin Ufomba said “Coca-Cola is delighted to partner with M-Net to refresh and amplify Big Brother Africa, the hugely popular reality TV show that has become a unifying entertainment platform for the continent’s youth”.

He explained his company’s rationale for the partnership. “This partnership advances our objective to connect to our consumers’ passion points. It also presents us with a valued opportunity to help dial up integrative cross-cultural conversations among the youth of this very diverse continent.”

Our partnership with M-Net on this franchise will give the viewers a more intense experience of Open Happiness during the 91 days of this new season, aptly tagged ‘Big Brother Amplified’. Significantly, Big Brother Amplified will begin airing in May 2011, when we celebrate Coca-Cola’s 125th Anniversary”.

With the logo of the show released recently, the countdown to BIG BROTHER AMPLIFIED has intensified as the final rounds of selection are completed and the show’s producers Endemol put the finishing touches to a redesigned BIG BROTHER house.

Celebrated female radio icon Anita Akua Kyerewaa Kuma of Kumasi based Luv FM, a subsidiary of the Multimedia Group Limited, has been confirmed as one of the faces to grace this year’s opening ceremony of what can aptly be described as Africa’s most popular reality TV series, Big Brother Africa.

Anita, a popular radio brand within the urban circles of the Garden City, has disclosed in an exclusive interview with internet blogger and publicist, Kwabena Agyeman-Kobia, that her five day stay at Southern Sun Group Hotel, Johannesburg, will offer her a golden opportunity to fraternise with people from other parts of Africa, and that her travel arrangements to South Africa, venue for the event were almost complete. “It’s a fun trip for me and I can’t hide my joy,” the radio diva said.

She will be meeting up with journalists from 13 other African countries (one from each of the participating countries for this year’s event). She will also spend a night with the other journalists in the Big Brother House to get a feel of the buzz as well as take part in other social activities such as a tour of the city and the Multichoice Head office, and will climax it all by attending the ‘Big Brother Amplified’ launch, says Anne Sackey, country publicist for Multichoice.

Though M-Net is yet to announce the housemates for this year’s event, which has been named ‘BBA Amplified’, the 91-day fun-filled TV entertainment series will be launched Sunday, May 1, where housemates from 14 participating countries, (Angola, Botswana, Ethiopia, Ghana, Kenya, Malawi, Mozambique, Namibia, Nigeria, South Africa, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia & Zimbabwe) will be unveiled.

Anita, the presenter with a voice silky and potent enough to ignite excitement and pleasure, has maintained her longstanding dominance over midmorning radio in Kumasi, a feat that has earned her the admiration of listeners of Kumasi’s number one urban radio station, Luv 99.5FM.

BIG Brother Africa Amplified kicks off on May 01 and Uganda is part of the fourteen countries that will be competing for the top prize of US$ 200,000. The latest information we are getting is that Uganda will be represented by a female housemate which was widely expected now that Maureen Namatovu was the last female we heard representing the country in Big Brother Africa 2.

Sharon Salmon is a member of the Obsession's group and a wife to Ronnie Mulindwa and they have a kid together called Lisbon and in the picture in black, it was two months after giving birth so on a good day she will be a good pack for Uganda.

According to close pals, she sos excited about the move and she was actually seen at Nakumatt Oasis shopping for new clothes that she will actually use in the Big Brother sixth edition.
