I literally wept. . .

Uneducated illiterates, bastardised baboons. .They will rot were they are. .They shall never prosper, their children, children's children shall never prosper, their families and future generations shall suffer for what they did to this man. .May they suffer and suffer after death. .

This is the most barbaric film I have ever seen in my life. I can not believe that we still have people in our society that can behave in this manner.
Poster, are there any ways this could be posted in GEJ or BRF facebook page for them to see? May be they can get the police to look at the footage with a view of apprehending those animals in human skin.

I couldn't bring myself to watch the video. Watched one with a similar theme once and had nightmares.

I think why some Nigerians behave like this is because they've been so brutalized by the whole Nigerian experience that somewhere along the line they've lost that thing that, to a large extent seperates we humans from other animals: empathy.

The guys that killed that guy are so hardened and cold-hearted that they'll probably forget about the whole thing the next day. They've been left devoid of compassion from the frustration; hunger; joblessness and lack of love that comes with being the wretched poor in Nigeria. They probably never had a hug growing up, and were never told how special and loved they are.

That's what growing up poor in Nigeria can do to you, if the necessary nuturing and love is absent. Unless you're one of the very few that get a lucky break, it's a sad situation from the cradle to the grave.

i saw a bunch of heartless, murderous bunch of miscreants taking advantage of a defenceless man. yes, these men are frustrated, angry, hopeless, jobless, etc but their anger should be directed to the politicians not to a man like them who felt crime pays. if our people channel their negative energy to fight the pot-bellied politicians stealing billions meant for them in the country, nigeria would have been revolutionized like egypt, tunisia, etc. nigerians are so barbaric to the point of murdering scapegoats on the streets is their only way to de-stress!

He did not deserve what was done to him and i am suprised no one stopped to calm the angry mob.Someone should have stopped and pleaded with them to take him to police .

^^^ True, true. The fact of the matter is there's good and bad in all ethnic groups. Our anger with our Hausa/Fulani brothers is that theirs seems to be a sustained recurring thing targeted at one because of his/her religion or ethnic group. All the same, we shouldn't tar all of them with the same brush. And in the heat of the moment i guess we all have been guilty of this to varying degrees.

The main problem arises when one goes further, from criticising the other religion/ethnic group on the internet to actual bodily harm just to express their anger.

Who knows if the government protected the traders, if this would have happened. There was no police in sight in all these, that makes it sadder. The big picture is terrible if we don't control the total breakdown of law and order in our cities.

I thought they have stopped these barbaric acts in Lagos. In 2001, they did something like this at Isale eko, they were going in to suspected armed robbers houses and dragging them into the streets and dissecting them with cutlass and burning them.

Almost every house around that place had a burnt human being at the entrance at the time. Its a shame!

This video has now been pulled from YouTube and Facebook yesterday after i sent emails to the Nigerian High Commissioner in the UK - His Excellency Dr. Dalhatu Sarki Tafida, Lagos State Government, various Fashola aides, the NTDC, and both Federal and State Ministries of Tourism a couple of days ago.
As i speak, a BBC journalist is doing an investigative report into the incident, and Guardian Films (who the the Child Witches expose) and also looking at it. Meanwhile, a petition is being organize to be delivered to the Nigerian High Commissioner in the UK asking for this barbaric act to be outlawed as it shows Nigeria and Nigerians alike in an extremely unsavory light. I will post the link of the petition here shortly.

Undue negative exposure in the world media, unfavourable press reports, and adverse attention creates a very jaundiced view of the country worldwide, and makes life hard for ordinary Nigerians living in the Diaspora; as we are having to constantly explain/ defend these heinous and abominable acts to our foreign colleagues, peers, friends and families.
In 2008, the Guardian UK exposé - Child Witches Nigeria (

As I speak, a petition is being organised over various social media outlets by Nigerians and non- Nigerians alike. The aim is to send a clear and concise message to the powers that be; That Nigeria is NOT a nation of barbarians and animals. It is time to stop the lynching of petty criminals, and make it a criminal offence for anyone caught participating in such an act.

I do hope you can join me and the half a million of Nigerians living in the UK, using the powers vested in you and your organisation to make this repugnant act a thing of the past.
