This is a very interesting read. Mankind needs to know these 3 personalities and properly identify them; Elijah reincarnate, Messiah, and the Prophet. Please don't derail the thread. No one is forced to participate if there is no relevant direct to the topic contribution intended.

Who were these three people?

Malachi 4 verse 5: "See, I will send you the prophet Elijah before that great and dreadful day of the LORD comes


John the Baptist Denies Being the Messiah; John1 verse 19 to 23:
19 Now this was John’s testimony when the Jewish leaders[c] in Jerusalem sent priests and Levites to ask him who he was.
20 He did not fail to confess, but confessed freely, “I am not the Messiah.”
21 They asked him, “Then who are you? Are you Elijah?”
  He said, “I am not.”

22 Finally they said, “Who are you? Give us an answer to take back to those who sent us. What do you say about yourself?”

So John, son of Zacharias says of himself that prophesy of Malachi 4 verse 5 is unfulfilled on him. I then read somewhere that Jesus, son of Mary stated that John, son of Zacharias [and Zacharias was a prophet] was incorrect about himself. Jesus said that John, son of Zacharias is the Elijah expected.

But the issue of the "Are you the Prophet?" was not not settled by John, son of Mary even as he accused John, a Prophet and son of a Prophet of not knowing his own Prophetic office as Elijah incarnate. What is shocking though, is that Jesus didn't stop there. But he then said that the same John is the "greatest Prophet" ever brought out from the loin of Israel [Jacob].

But Jesus, son of Mary himself spoke about himself and so did his remaining 11 disciples speak about him as a Prophet of God, sent to the Children of Israel.

Can anyone provide me with the Original Jewish Language of the tongue of Jesus at the time of his ministry the above verses? I want to know how the Jewish scholars asked the questions of John, son of Zacharias and how he answered it, not in english and not in greek.

This way I will know what Elijah was called, what Messiah was called and what "The Prophet" was called.

I often ask myself and others what the christian's holy spirit brought that Jesus didn't leave behind in the first place? no single thing has been presented.

people who say that the holy spirit made things clear, are the same people who will say things are mysteries to people like me because i am canal or disbeliever.

fine, i want the same people who are not canal and not disbelievers tell me what is the proper name of the holy spirit who came to make things clear for them, while it remains a mystery for me.

then they should throw in as free gift how did the holy spirit tell them to pray to him, or jesus his partner or Yahweh. are prayers to each 'Person' [i hate to use that word for Yahweh and holy spirit] different for the same? give me a example of formal prayer if it is te same. if not give me formal prayer to each one.

this will lead me to follow up questions, as i need proof if i were to worship the One True God Who sent Jesus. i cant be just accepting things by faith, when it is so confusing shrouded in mystery. religion should be made plain.

Secondly, Jesus said in John 16;7, it is expedient that  go away so that the comforter will come. This is the Holy spirit. ou see, if Jesus did not go, the ministry to the Gentiles would not have been possible. Through the Holy spirit, the whole world can carry God inside individually by believing in the death & resurrection of Jesus. As a man on earth, Jesus would have only been in Israel, but as the Holy spirit, Jesus can be real even to the Gentile.

Col 1:26-27 This is the mystery which hath been hid from ages & generations but now made manifest to his saints; to whom God will make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.

Through the Holy spirit, salvation has come to the gentiles by the death & resurrection of Jesus. Read Rom 11;1-24

Finally, the Bible did not say, art thou the prophet? The pharisees said art thou that prophet?

This should be your concern; the man who baptized Jesus and the greatest prophet of the children of Israel said Jesus whereas the Bible had declared no prophet like Moses was ever going to be raise in Israel disagreed with Jesus that he is not Elijah. Why one is true? And lets examine what Jesus said about the holy spirit; Jesus never said that he will leave and then return as the holy spirit. He said I will pray the father to send him. Another place, he said I will send him. Either way, the holy spirit has definite functions to perform; one of them is praising Jesus. How did Jesus as holy spirit praise or gloried himself? How did Jesus as holy Spirit now teach the disciples new things, how did he remind them of what he just told them weeks before, how did he correct them [correct them from what], how did he show them things to come? please explain each function and provide example in each case. i beg to differ that Jesus wanted his ministry to be universal, otherwise he would have started it so, before being lifted up after all he escaped to Egypt and said nothing there.

Why still mysteries consider the holy spirit was a te one of the 3 that mounted Mary, why is he now Jesus when it was the one father sent Jesus to strengthen him, earlier? There is not way that the holy spirit mounted Mary to produce Jesus, strengthened Jesus when Jesus was in difficulty all of a sudden becomes Jesus. It does not make sense.

Remember the letter killeth but the word gives life. And Jesus is that Word and giver of life.

Many of these Muslims do not have Jesus and are therefore void of this eternal life, so they read the bible like a story book and instead of understanding they become more blind and confused.

"The man without the Spirit does not accept the things that come from the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him, and he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually discerned." - 1 Corinthians 2:14

What they need is prayer, patience with their ignorance and love.

@Micuilles; Luke 1 verse 17 is another proof that The Gospels are not 100% from Jesus.

When John said he was not Elijah, that shows how confusing the Book is, because Jesus said John was Elijah.



One wonders who is correct. Jesus never forgot to remind us that John who opposed him was the greatest prophet from the Children of Israel.

Earlier though in the Old Testament, it stated after Moses no such a great prophet was raise from the children of Israel.
