I have just bought this book on kindle and it has blown my mind. Once I picked it up, it was impossible to drop, I am already half-way there.

If you read this book, you will discover the heresies in the modern church and be able to decipher between true christianity and false.

Now it is only £11.15 and if you can spend money on food and drink surely this book is not expensive.

I am not advertising this book as I DO NOT know the author or have any links to him, it is simply a MUST READ !!!

Product Description

Nearly two decades ago Hank Hanegraaff's award-winning 'Christianity in Crisis' alerted the world to the dangers of a cultic movement within Christianity that threatened to undermine the very foundation of biblical faith.

But in the 21st century, there are new dangers-new teachers who threaten to do more damage than the last. These are not obscure teachers that Hanegraaff unmasks. We know their names. We have seen their faces, sat in their churches, and heard them shamelessly preach and promote the false pretexts of a give-to-get gospel. They are virtual rock stars who command the attention of presidential candidates and media moguls. Through make-believe miracles, urban legends, counterfeit Christs, and twisted theological reasoning, they peddle an occult brand of metaphysics that continues to shipwreck the faith of millions around the globe: "God cannot do anything in this earthly realm unless we give Him permission." "Keep saying it-'I have equality with God'-talk yourself into it." "Being poor is a sin." "The Jews were not rejecting Jesus as Messiah; it was Jesus who was refusing to be the Messiah to the Jews!"

"You create your own world the same way God creates His. He speaks, and things happen; you speak, and they happen." Christianity in Crisis: 21st Century exposes darkness to light, pointing us back to a Christianity centered in Christ. From the Preface: "Having lost the ability to think biblically, postmodern Christians are being transformed from cultural change agents and initiators into cultural conformists and imitators. Pop culture beckons, and postmodern Christians have taken the bait. As a result, the biblical model of faith has given way to an increasingly bizarre array of fads and formulas."

Comment 1:

The previous edition of this book rescued me in a dark and dangerous part of my life; just how dangerous, perhaps I won't know with precision. I'm so tempted to draw parallels from my childhood; look right, look left, look right again - the highway code. And if you follow it, you'll never know what tragedy may have been. Hank is doing just that simple preventative care, and amazingly, without patronising us or shouting in the slightest.

The basic point - and he's dead right in this - is that despite a lot of history, dark ages, despots and cruel rulers, the community of God's people throughout the ages have remained as a faithful remnant, and the gospel has succeeded in surviving all kinds of insult; but this time the danger is different in kind, and dreadful in scope and character.

The people who are the terror now claim to be the principle holders of the faith, but as Hank describes them are absolute nightmares made flesh, predators of an extraordinary type.

This book really marked a tremendous watershed in my life, for when it was published it was not clear to me what had gone so very wrong with the church. And it all seemed to have gone wrong all at once, and almost everywhere. As in the film "Jesus Camp", the wonderful message of the gospel has been replaced with a strange, alien "other", and the genius of the book is it's systematic and careful exposition of WHAT this is and how it is quantified, even delineating it's origins.

Many of the movements and heresies that Hank describes have done one rather terrible thing - they have caused people to lose their faith. God, of course is still faithful and will pick us up if we permit him to.

Reading this book was something like being told that what you saw on stage was actually a rather shabby trick. Shabby; yes, that is a good word for it all. I think that I would be anything other than the people Hank describes; their only end is eternal shame.

Comment 2:

This book is a marvellous introduction to the dangerous theology of the `Word Faith' movement.

In sympathetic style, Hanegraaff first lifts the lid on the extent of the false teaching, and then introduces the main personalities behind it. He considers in detail the major errors, and then provides scriptural answers in each case. He further equips readers with a framework, and a biblical way of thinking, so that everyone can discern truth from error for themselves.

Whilst he is uncompromising in condemning those who lead thousands astray for their own gain, he is sympathetic and helpful to those who follow them.

If you are a well-taught Christian, you may not need his chapters explaining how to read the Bible, but every believer will benefit from the clear teaching regarding the `Word Faith' movement. If you are in ministry, or know anyone who is caught up with these errors, the book is a great aid.

This book truly opened my eyes to understand that the `Word Faith' preachers are not just another branch of slightly erratic Christianity, but a heretical and dangerous movement, who preach and teach a false gospel which cannot save a single soul - because they do not preach the triune and sovereign God of the Bible, and have created for themselves `another Jesus' who is no Saviour.

This book is sorrowfully, but strongly, recommended.

Comment 3:

Christianity in Crisis 21st Century edition by Hank Hanegraaff seeks to address some of the negative influences upon Christianity not from outside the church but from within it.

This is a development upon a book by the same title written by Hanegraaff 20 years ago to raise awareness over concerns emerging over the `word and faith movement'. In this 21st Century edition Hanegraaff develops upon his theme, referring to some of the well known teachers who we hear on our radios and see on our tv's each day such as Osteen, Meyer, Dollar and others. His point is clear, these teachers are teaching an untrue and distorted gospel and as a result pose a danger of being cultic influences upon Christianity.

This book is an interesting read, it outlines some of the key false teachings of the `word and faith' movement providing a basis for people to make informed decisions when facing such teaching. Haanegraaff is bold in his approach and presents his arguments and beliefs in an accessible format. This book challenges the individual to take responsibility for what they allow themselves to be taught and moulded by and clearly addresses a subject where few have been bold enough to even explore. Thoroughly recommended!

Comment 4:

Sadly the Word of Faith movement has infiltrated large sections of the church and is peddling its version of the gospel worldwide. Having read several good articles on Hanegraaf's Christian Research Institute website i decided to purchase this book. Christianity in Crisis 21st century is well researched and easy to read. I especially appreciated the fact that Hanegraaf did not use the Word of Faith movement as an excuse to throw mud on all charismatics/pentecostals.

I think most are acquainted by now with the cast of characters promoting Word of Faith mumbo jumbo, yet this book neatly places before us their various heresies and could prove a valuable tool for refuting them. I recommend this book to anyone interested in studying the Word of Faith movement or people involved in this movement that feel uneasy about it.

The bitter truth is this. Considering the current state of things going on in the world today,Religion will come crumbling down pretty soon, many people will lose faith in man made religion. As the saying goes 'what goes up must surely come down'.
