CERT CAN'T BE USED,WHY IS IT AN OPTION ON THE DV LOTTERY WEBISITE? (5).DO WE HAVE VOCATION SCH. IN NIGERIA ? (6). HOW MANY CREDIT IS REQUIRED ON UR SSCE/GCE CERTS, OR DO THEY JUST NEED A SNR.HIGH SCHOOL CERT TO COMFIRM THAT U'RE DONE WITH HIGH SCHOOL. Pls someone should explain

I've been doing a lot of thinking and i noticed that not everybody in naija is qualified but 95% register for the dv lottery and for instance, if 50% wins in naija only 15% will be given visa and the other 35% will lose their money, not every body is qualified. Not everybody has gce/ssce result, some are even secondary sch dropouts but yet they still go and register and they dont qualify for it, many of them win the dv lottery and when they get to the Us embassy, they just collect their visa fee almost 200,000naira and deny them, some has certificate but its likf there's a certain grade needed, and no vocation schools here mind u "cathering school" is not included, there are specific vocational courses

in my own knowledge, a secondary school cert means an ssce with p in english and maths plus 5 other subects. then you still have another option of 2 years working experience. in whatever case, try to certify your proof.

another question is how did you people manage to upload you passport photograph? the system is too selective, making it almost impossible to upload a photograph.

I will have to let the guy go find find someone else to fill his dv form for him, i do not even know where he fits in, HIGH SCH DEGREE or HIGH SCHOOL NO DEGREE

2yrs work expirence? what are the specified occupations, i went through a web and there are many ,i couldnt tell which is required

Qualifying DV Occupations are shown on the DOL O*Net Online Database. Follow these steps to find out if your occupation qualifies:

Select ―Find Occupations‖ and then select a specific ―Job Family.‖ For example, select Architecture and Engineering and click ―GO.‖ Then click on the link for the specific Occupation. Following the same example, click ―Aerospace Engineers.‖ After selecting a specific Occupation link, select the tab ―Job Zone‖ to find out the designated Job Zone number and Specific Vocational Preparation (SVP) rating range.


You must have two years of experience in an occupation that is designated as[b] Job Zone 4 or 5, classified in a Specific Vocational Preparation (SVP) range of 7.0 or higher.[/b]

Thanks guyz, that site's kinda confusing, i mean o*onlin.net site, could u please specify which job or jobs qualify u for the dv lotto, some people dnt know dis, e.g. a tailor or a cook wins dv lottory and he thinks his job qualifies him

I have checked the job specific site and i dnt understand the exact job needed to qualify

^^ what is your current job? it must have a category cz if it doesnt feature then you dont qualify.

It seems our photographers find it difficult to arrive at the specified size and dimensions of this year's passport photograph requirements. The site also stated they don't want doctored photographs.
What is the possible solutuon here and how does one cross this hurdle??

its not every photographer that knows how to get the exact pic and secondly, computer resolution settings

You can use Microsoft office picture manager to adjust your pics to 600 by 600 pixels. Firstly get a picture more than 600 pixels in width and height. open the picture with Microsoft office picture manager, click on edit pictures then click on crop and drag the pics upwards, downwards, left and right until you get 600 by 600 pixels then click ok and save. Thereafter go to the lottery website to validate the photo. If done well the photo will be accepted.

I appreciate replies from u guys, but the biggest passport i have now is 512 x 528 in dimensions (took the whole of yesterday + N400 to get that size) with a file size of 45.6KB, whereas, the specified file size is 24KB. Can i successfully work with that or do i need to retake another passport photo?

Are you saying in the whole of lagos or wherever you are you has no professional photographer to capture the exact type the embassy requires? You only need the microsoft office pic to adjust the size if you cant get one. Do not mess with shadows/contrast/background of appearance. Even if its 600 by 600 with wrong features it wont load.
Am sure you have read the instructions so well and its just that.Nothing more and nothing less.There's no compromise at all so do exactly as required.  Try as many pp photos as possible.Just read  the instructions.! I like the photo verifying process.
You guys give up so easily or are in haste.

Why are guys having issues with job group? seriously people READ and browse well. If your job is not in the list then you stand no chance. The website has all info. Read read and read again. Its not difficult.
