My brother, jive Turkeys should reveal their real motivation so that we know what is responsible for the 'bulls.hite they post. When it is clear that this case , within the purview of legal jurisprudence, was spurious, fraudulent and weak some still want to waste our time here with distractive talks instead of just admitting that Tinubu legitimately 'licked' the PDP on this one.

https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-815408.0.html

He wondered why Tinubu should be made to answer cases on accounts which are not bearing his name, with the prosecution failing to establish the link between the person(s) mentioned with Tinubu.

a. One who speaks as though they know what they're talking about, though they do not. b. a bullshitter.

@Gbawe,

Abi o. Sentiments should be shoved aside when topical/intellectual public issues are discussed. Objectivity is key. But certain elements just say things that do not hit any target nor make any sense and want to recognized as making contributions. If a man has displayed higher tendencies of sagacity than his peers, we should be bold enough to concur to that fact, not to be blown all over by storms of sentimental inferiority

Indeed. The first clue as per how this case was going nowhere was how some of the finest legal minds from the SW willingly agreed to defend Tinubu. Fashola, claimed to be at loggerheads with Tinubu, also sat with the lawyers of Tinubu. Surely, no one is foolish enough to think all these lawyers are ACN members or even admirers of Tinubu. What was annoying to those great legal luminaries was how obvious it was that this spurious case , with no basis in legality, is the best some can do to try and ensnare an opponent they cannot overcome stragtegy for strategy and in the political arena!!!! Any lawyer , patently against injustice and partisan usage/abuse of the law, will side with Tinubu for free . It is as simple as that.

Very True. The political elites in this country, especially the PDP believes in "capture" as against "win", they believe in "do or die" as against "ballot/mandate" Its really shameful at this age and time.

My brother, I tried to lecture the olodos that GEJ is not a sagacious politician anyone respects yet some folks contended that because he is President he can do anything. Even Sylva threatened GEJ !!! Tell me if Sylva would dare such against IBB, Buhari, OBJ, Danjuma, Atiku and others who , even if one dislikes them, Nigerians cannot accuse of lacking sagacity and influence. Jonathan has nothing anyone can respect . A totally colourless character promoted far above his station. The establishment still finds it impossible to respect him or view him as Presidential. This is why Sylva can take him on fearlessly.

Olodo Big B1 wrote:

A fight with PDP is also a fight with the president.
In Nigeria, president will always win any political battle regardless of your position or circumstance. It is a written and common protocol not to ever have a fight with the president.

I predict that Tinuba will leave the country very soon. The mess he has found himself lately will never end. The strategy that is in place is not only to weaken his power, but also to pulverize his spirit in every way. Pretty soon enemies from his own party (ACN) will start to emerge one by one to indirectly speed up the process PDP has put in place. MARK IT DOWN
I honestly think Tinubu himself also clearly recognizes his circumstance. It is a matter of time for him to escape disappear for some time.

Gbawe Responded:

My friend, power is transient . Take that to the bank !!!! Who is alive today between Yar Adua and Ribadu even as things looked very bleak for the former EFCC boss at one stage under a vengeful President determined to destroy him? GEJ is a poor politician backed by vengeful old Dinosaurs who only understand 'garrison commander' politics. I personally will not put any money on GEJ.

olodo Big B1 then wrote:

Oga, this is nothing but a story by/of a hopeless well wisher you have just vomited.
The way things work in Nigeria is what I have presented. You do not have to take my words, just let's allow time to tell.
I'm sure that at this point, Tinubu himself knows that caution has to be taken.

Gbawe responded:

Let us wait and see. The PDP were not rigged out of the SW. They were unanimously voted out !!! What will Tinubu's so-called enemies within the ACN gain by showing their hand when the Party , with or without Tinubu , is now firmly in control of the SW? Tinubu's trial is good and it will make the region close rank. The PDP is reviled in the SW so trying to cower Tinubu does nothing to diminish the disdain for the ruling Party in the region. GEJ has a penchant for accepting politically inane advice that always comes back to haunt him. Let us see how this plays out.

Abeg, will this now not "haunt" GEJ with how the entire Nigeria can see they persecuted Tinubu for nothing other than the fact he bested them fairly and legitimately at political strategising? The PDP should learn to go to school and recieve education instead of sponsoring clueless olodos who think power alone gives them all that is required to defeat those , by far, more naturally brillliant than they are.

From the common perspective of a neutral Nigeria, and not political rivalries, an accused persons who refuses to clear his name of allegations directed to his person but hide behind a finger using political tools and shamefully potray himself as an elderstatesman is a disgrace to the country and should cover his face in shame.he owes explanations to those who did not believe in politics rivalries nor blinded by using same to sweep grievious allegations under the carpet.shame.

I detest the comment above because you of all people should know better. Having said that, the task at hand is how to develop social engineering techniques which would rid the country of corruption. I'm afraid that barring drastic millitary activities or other extreme measures, it may take us a generation or two to get there.

If you detest corruption, how come throughout this thread you have only seemed to cheer on the corruption hurrah singers? You've got to walk the walk, not just protest at the observations of witnesses like me. This thread is dead serious and far from hilarious. If indeed you detest corruption, then you augth to show it.

As for the drastic military measures you profer, I understand the sentiment, but it is an expression of frustration rather than rationality. It was the military with their impunity that got us in this mess. No?
I will state it categorically that it was the army that foisted powerful criminals like Tinubu on Nigeria. For example, when Sani Abacha designed to make himself mega-wealthy by destroying local refineries and acquiring a personal refinery in Sierra Leone with FG money (to become the sole fuel importer), Tinubu helped finance the deal by buying 24% shares in Abacha's private refinery.

If the army foisted scumbags like Tinubu on us, how do you ask that same army to remove them? Especially while IBB is still well and kicking? We only have ourselves to do the job and it starts with the small step of roundly condemning those like Tinubu and all of his supporters. If that had not been done with Ibori, even from the grassroots in his home state, he would just be another monster prowling the landscape and devouring our hope for tomorrow.

If corrupt men like Tinubu walk free on 'technicalities' , does that not justify the argument that there is no hope for nation building. Tearing up this country remain the most viable alternative.

The funny thing is the ethnic coloration of the goons jumping into his defense. Tinubu has a case to answer, getting let off on technicalities does not in anyway eliminate any doubt on the charges of corruption against him. It is not yet Uhuru; Tinubu is yet to clear his name - both in certificate forgery, and corruption case. In any case, this saga has damaged him more than his bigoted supporters are wont to acknowledge.

Tinubu is a common criminal, that is the people's verdict!

The court just proved him "Not guilty".

If you understand law, you'd realize that your ppl/ laywers/ ANC-Haters could not find any sufficient vidence to find him guilty.

Yes, the country is indeed hopeless.

Some of those lawyers against prolly bought their certificates too. Like the recent one in the news.  That's why they couldnt stand the heat, incompetent bunch.

PS: Can someone post the names of the lawyers on both side?

Exactly how was he proved "Not Guilty"? Or how does dismissing a case on technicality amount to 'Not guilty'
Tinubu was not tried either because the powers-that-be does not believe it worthwhile and have decided to give him soft landing.
So you can continue with your victory lap because one of you was given a let off with a slap on the wrist but never because he was not guilty as charged. In any case, a leader is a as good as the society that raised him.

Bode George, Tafa Balogun, Bankole, Gbenga, Obj, Tinubu are all very exemplary citizens, and indeed of yours; I hail!

If there was enough evidence to bring forth during the pretrial and hearing, the case would not have been dismissed.

In this case, it was flung out of the window like a soiled diaper.

There were more "powerful" morons (on purpose) against him.

My broda, ask me!
I even provided ample documentry proof of Tinubu's corruption, but the usual brigade applied their failed stone throwing tactics to deflect from the issue. The amount of hypocrisy flowing in the blood of some Nigerians is really sad. These are the very same people who wil jump up tomorrow to cry crocodile tears about Nigeria's lack of development.
