If the government was removing the fuel subsidy, it means fuel must sell at N141 at the pump price.

so why N97? if the government removed the fuel subsidy why should it be at N97? please someone explain to me.

i thought the argument was the government removes the fuel subsidy so petroleum marketers would sell at a price regulated by international market rates. even those economists good with numbers arrived at N140 or so that is if the subsidy is removed. If these marketers sell at N97, wont they be losing profit?

so at N97, who pays the balance N43? is the government still running the subsidy? or was this just pump price increment which had nothing to do with fuel subsidy at all?

someone explain to me. i need to know if gej is taking us for a ride.

@Lucifa

i agree this minimum wage of a thing should never be at N18,000. this is a fight for another day, may be sooner.
But i'm talking about this subsidy wahala. any right thinking person would ask why N97? what was the reason for the subsidy removal in the first place. I think we need to rewind all those arguments.

Yes, Goverment is still paying the balance. But Mr. president fave his word that he will pursue the complete deregulation of the Petroluem Imdustry. Until that is done, let the cabal continue to milk Nigeria.
