Even a step mom can get direspected by her husband's kids and any attempt to discipline them will be termed wickedness.
One mistake and all their good deeds will be forgotten.

I feel being a step parent is most times a thankless job because those kids miss their real parent and don't appreciate what other people do for them as much as they would if their own parents did it. That's why everyone considers their mothers and fathers to be saints but don't see others that way.

I know it's the same,with step moms if not worse, but I was actually stating why I would rather not get involved with a single mom. Because after it's all said and done, some guys don't mind hooking up with them.

Maybe I should modify the single mom to single parent.

But either way, the idea of step children thinking you're the reason why their parents aren't together (and despising you for it) when you have nothing to do with it isn't appealing to me at all.
