Same Michael Girvin with the Excel Basics playlist that is 12hrs long?

Nah... I strongly disagree with you. He literally tore down everything about Excel from inside out that it’s mind blowing why his videos are still on YouTube for free.

There’s absolutely no way anybody wouldn’t understand his style of teaching with the many examples and homeworks available after each video.

The only downside I will agree to is that his playlists are long. Very, very looong.
bro! I stand with you. Fear catch me when I saw his comment about excel is fun's Michael, infact I weak instantly. Garri wey me dey chop for this early mor mor just sour for my mouth. Excel is fun wey done turn me to small genius for excel. The guy is damn!!!! Good

tnx for dis, I actually want to download all the complete season dis evening because I thought it's action series like strike back and the last ship, I would have waste my data.. Please kindly recommend a good action series like 24 hours, strike back, the last ship, the unit. Just a good shooting action series. Tnx
sorry, but the truth is I am not big on action packed TV shows, so I would find it hard to suggest any to you. can't think of any that can top strike back. I feel strike back and arguably, 24 are the best in that category from all I have seen. Let me leave it to the bosses of this thread to recommend for you.

Please rate homeland. I believe their is a lot of action
naaaaa! It's not filled with action, shootings and all that. But it's world class, very very dope. I think it's only once or twice the main character pulled a trigger during the entire show. (not too sure though).

1- Excel(and relatives/natives like pivot table, power query(you can skip the M language in it), learn to create dashboards with excel(because what a lot of business people know is excel and excel is everywhere; power bi is d shiny kid getting lots of love now, and for good reasons), learn formulas and array formulas. Once u understand how cell referencing works, excel becomes easy.
1.5- power pivot (or just move to 2)
2-power bi(please learn data modelling here, please please learn how to use d dax language to create calculated columns, measures, time intelligence so you can stand out. power query and power pivot are still here too.
Note that tableau can replace power bi too. These 2 are d most popular.
3. - involve urself in d statistical aspect of what you are learning. Using tools without knowing d statistics is not complete. after all data science, forger d sexy name, is basically statistics, some pure mathematics, cimputer science, and common sense. Please read all you can about probability, distributions, Central limit theorem, experimental design, ANOVA, manova, correlation, regression, Exploratory data analysis(e.g make sure you know all about d box plot, not just how to plot it), parametric and non parametric test, post-hoc tests. etc. Baba if you try all d things here, u are already a small boss.
4- Python or R, you choice (to implement 3, and even parts of 1 and 2. They are d languages of data.

5-Now, advance statistics and calculus( For MACHINE LEARNING!!!!!! which can be implemented using python or R.) You can start machine learning by using clicks and libraries before you go under d hood. machine learning no be beans sha o and its not just simple regression. But its learnable.

6. this has no number really. insert SQL anywhere after 2.

7- PRACTICE. PRACTICE. PRACTICE!!!

If all you want is mainly extraction, cleaning, munging, visualisation of data, and creating a shiny(apologies to R guys) dashboard, A simple knowledge of statistics may do it. Excel, Power bi and SQL will do.

To become a real data scientist aka machine expert, statistics, maths, must come in.

please, I put dis together in a hurry. others here should please chime in.
Thanks for this, you finished work. Very detailed

How did you solve it?
Had to re-download it on my phone, the 32bit version. Selected it to be downloaded on my phone then transferred it to my system where I installed it. Whereas this morning, i used my system and it automatically downloaded the 64 bit version, it didn't give me an option to choose.

tableau desktop is the paid version if you can afford that, if not, you can go for tableau public but just that you can't save your works to your computer. they can only be saved to the tableau server. but it's not bad if you're trying to build your portfolio.

Wow! OK, thanks. Another question, please is it wise for me to go with the 32 bit version or 64 bit version? I noticed that the size of the 64 bit version is really large compared to the 32 bit. Please am I safe, going with either version?

Excel, Power Bi or Tableau, SQL, and Python (pandas)

please which version of tableau would you recommend I download? Was on their website and noticed two versions of tableau public.

I am also hearing there are professional and community versions of tableau.

Please my questions are:1. Should I go for tableau public desktop ?
2. If so, which bit should I download? I saw tableau public desktop for 32 bit which is about 200mb and another, which is 64 bit. Though my system is a 64 bit windows system. Please help with answers. Thanks

True!!! You just jogged my memory. Those songs were pure fire. It's been a very very long time I heard that pink Friday album, 8 years or so. But the one I always go back to watch on YouTube is moment 4 life. Those you mentioned are my favorite too, especially "right thru me" and Roman's revenge.

I am no longer trying to survive,
I believe that life is a prize,
But to live doesn't mean you're alive,
Don't worry bout me and who I fire
I get what I desire it's my empire
And yes I call the shots I am the umpire
I sprinkle holy water upon the vampire
In this very moment I'm king
This very moment I slay Goliath with a sling,
This very moment I bring
Put it on everything that I will retire with the ring,
And I will retire with the crown, yes!
No I'm not lucky I'm blessed, yes!
Clap for the heavyweight champ, me!
But I couldn't do it all alone, we!
Young Money raised me, grew up out in Baisley
Southside Jamaica, Queens and it's crazy
'Cause I'm still hood, Hollywood couldn't change me
Shout out to my haters, sorry that you couldn't phase me
Ain't being cocky we just vindicated, best believe that when were done

1) kaggle . com...there are millions of dataset there...or if you are still learning, i advice you check out w3resource . com, bcz they drop solution to the exercises in case you are stuck somewhere..
2) We all love MySql bro....but only after you'v mastered it...I dont think you can move excel file into MySql...i tried that when i was learning back then but it didn't work...What you can do is to duplicate the excel file and change the extension to .sql and try importing the file....If it doesnt work, i suggest yoi google it.....This is one of the major advantage Pandas have over MySql..

Brotherly! It's possible. I just did it. I followed what yemyke001 explained. Try it too bro, it works. Thanks all the same for everything. Appreciate

Create a table in MYSQL, bearing the name of the columns in the excel file. Then right click on the table created (icon on your left) and import the csv/xlsx file to MYSQL. This should work. Although i do this with POSTGRESQL

Thank you, it worked. "I don dey feel like one mysql god now". In between, how cool is the job, database administrator? Do you know anything about it?

Thanks man for your swift response as usual. 1) at kaggle and w3 resource I will try visiting them. Hopefully, I would be able to download the csvs from there. Thanks. 2) but that's rather poor from mysql, it would have been great if they had incorporated that feature into it. I think the best bet for me then is creating tables in mysql and then moving it out to excel to do some quick analysis and then from there, panda(when I eventually start on panda). Thanks again. I am grateful.

For DAX Expression exercises in Power bi, check wiseowl . co . uk, w3resource . com, kaggle .com.
For exercises without DAX Expression, you can use same sites...
Basically, what can be done in Tableau can be done in power bi...so if you try out any tableau project, you can replicate too in power bi...
If you are on twitter, you can search for #makeovermonday....every sunday, a dataset is dropped and we submit our analysis in Tableau on monday or latest by Wednesday....Its a chance to improve yourself
GL cool

Bro! Your head dey there abeg. Please can you drop a site where I can get exercises in csv to download for excel? And please want to ask if you can put me through on how to move excel files into mysql to finish work on them? Please man. Sql is really crazy, loving it so far

Have you found solution to it, I had same issues too. This what I did, first make
Sure you downloaded the MySQL installer the offline package about 400mb not the web package. Secondly uninstall any sql and download the 400mb own, thirdly while downloading make sure your internet connection is on throughout the installation and follow the instructions. Try this out first
dude! Thanks for this. I have been battling with it all morning, Finally had a little break through not to long ago. Firstly, It was the web version I downloaded. I uninstalled every f*cking my sql on my system, except for the raw file I downloaded on my system. Then I had to re install and rerun everything again, I made sure that my internet connection was frigging strong. Because I noticed that the first time I did it that came with that error, my data bundle exhausted, so I had to resub and then continue. This time around I wasn't taking chances o. Subed mtn 1,5 gig and ran the stuff. It went well, only that this time it was the my sql server that was now posing a problem, it came back with reconfigure. Had to do battle for almost 3hrs thanks to Google and YouTube and a huge deal of luck. Even had to go to control panel and admin tools to start changing things. can't even explain what I did. The new head ache now is, updating the start menu link coming back failed during configuration in the installer. Biko I have left it, because I noticed that the mysql editor is working fine at least for now I can log in with a password I created and get busy. And that's what I need. jeeeeeeeeez! Sorry for my bad language and long post. This stuff really messed with me. A huge thanks to you, might eventually try out what you suggested later.
