To add to all d advice......Avoid all breast stimulation, pumping or even daddy touching it tongue. Instead of warm water try massaging it with an ice pack or a chilled towel . And pls don't be tempted to use ibuprofen, only use paracetamol cos of ur condition.
All d best

I will try the chilled water massaging tomorrow, thank you so much. God bless.

sorry dear, i understand how u feel. pls, DON'T use any drugs dat dries the milk except u are not ready to breastfeed u next child, and DON'T express it cos it stimulate it the more. just endure. inabout 3 to 4 days, u will be fine. all u need is a pain reliever to relief the pain.

Thank you, will keep to them.

mummy dats hw it feels lyk o.. u ar suppose to ask d question befor u wean ur baby, well my advice iz that u shd get breazt pump or use warm water n towel to press ur breast, it wil ease u buh try n take paracetamol too.. I was even. meant to understand dat dere is a drug dat dry it completely buh i dont knw d name.. Am sure oda mum wil knw beta...
sorry ma..

Thank you for the prompt response.

kaffy4bill:

U nid a very firm bra(u wear it alwaz even to sleep) and reduce ur fluid intake to d barest minimum. U hv to bear in mind dat the first 48hours is painful, paracetamol helps wit d pain. Try nt to express(stimulate more production) and pls stay off drugs dat dries off breast milk

Thank you nurse Kaffy. As regards the fluid intake, I'm pregnant and always feel thirsty. That's even my reason for weaning, my baby is still young. Will taking fluid extend the time it will take the pain to stop? Thanks.

Wow, seriously? That's too bad, the engine oil and the noodles are produced by two different companies. Why the bad-mouthing?

I didn't breastfeed her at all yesterday and by the time I woke up this morning, my Brea.sts were engorged, painful and very heavy as if they want to fall off my chest. What can I do to stop this? Please I need answers, I'm still feeling the pain.

Dekatron, is the lady's department aware? Is the University aware? I'm sure there a counselling and welfare unit in the school, or a similar unit. Are they aware? What are they doing about this case?

Mamas, I'm loosing weight seriously o. I don't know what could cause it. Everyone is complaining. Could it be because I'm breas.tfeeding while pregnant?

Thank you. She takes NAN and Friso wheat. I will soon go and buy one or two other cereal types for her. That should help with weaning. God will keep them for us.

Johnson wipes is d only one my boy has bn able to tolerate, heard huggies is gud too.
So pampers premium is good, what of d new baby dry?

Johnson wipes was the last one I used before switching to water, I still have some new ones at home till now, I refuse to use them. I've not used the baby dry diaper before, when I tried buying drylove, I couldn't get size 4 in Festac.

I'm in a dilemma now o mamas, seems I'm p. My baby just clocked 7 months yesterday. See gbege......

n d wipes is rubbish, just a pack messed up my lo's bum. #personal experience#. i have bn using huggies too, n i just tried pampers, seems i m gonna change to pampers, me liking itttt undecided

lol. I had to stop wipes totally when nappy rash didn't allow us to rest even after changing from one brand to several others. I now use water jejely. As for diapers, I still prefer huggies, Nigeria Pampers is BS, Pampers Premium is on the same level with huggies. I only use Nigerian Pampers when I go out and forget to take diapers along. It's safer than most.

@nggie, I believe the palm kernel oil will clear it, just be patient.

experienced mamas abeg I need ur advice on d type of walker to buy. I checked Konga and saw two main types.
1. The first one has seat and I am guessing that will help children learn to sit. My baby is just about 4 and a half months so I guess its more suitable but I am guessing that as soon as he can sit or crawl its goodbye to this type of walker.
2. activity walker: which is probably suitable for a child learning to walk.

So my question is does he really need the sitting one to learn how to sit? If he doesn't I'll just wait and by the second or do I need the two?

Thanks.

I got the walker for my baby but she doesn't like staying in it at all. I also learnt that the walker disturbs baby's development. You can research it online.

It's only done in general hospitals.

I use a private hospital and they give vit. A at the hospital. I took my baby for it last week, it's even free in my hospital. I guess it depends on the hospital.

Working mothers, how do you cope with introducing solids to your babies at 6 months? I'm finding it very hard, so my baby has been taking Frisogold and NAN 2 only, separately though.
Business / Re: Which Bank Do You Operate With And How Would You Rate Their Services? by NoQualms1(f): 9:07am On Jun 15, 2015
First Bank is the worst bank I know in Nigeria. They have extremely poor customer care officers everywhere I've tried carrying out transactions with them. Their worst branch has to be their 23 road, Festac town, Lagos branch.
GTB is better.

Hello mamas, trust we are all doing fine. Please, is it okay for a 6-month old to take cheese balls?

Also, this giving of yoghurt to babies (over 6 months old), is it the normal sweet yoghurt one sees everywhere or is there a special one for babies? Thanks.

Thank you Ma. Will be doing that now but he sleeps on his tummy during the day when I can supervise him and on his side @ nyt.

Tummy time is different from him sleeping on his tummy. It is done when baby is not asleep. You can google search for more details. All the best mama.

You shouldn't stop sterilizing the bottles till you stop using them. You may pack up the sterilizing unit and switch to tablets after like a year though. Depends on individual preference as well. The important thing is to keep these things as clean as possible!!

Thanks mama.
