Ok, thank you very much. I'd go look for a higher inverter

Can you state Ur battery type and size. Also avail us with the state of charge of the battery when you try powering your devices. Cheers

The battery is a 220ah tubular battery. I don't use the battery below 50%, so it's usually almost full b4 I use it. As I chat with u now, I'm using the inverter to power an 8kg washing machine of 360w. It still baffles me that it gives that short circuit warning only when I plug the freezer of 105w and fridge of 55w.

Every other things work normal, TV, chandelier, laptop, washing machine, etc. Only the fridge and freezer that the inverter gets to throw that warning.

Its same thing as overload. Ur inverter cant carry the surge current at startup. Experienced same thing and had to upgrade my inverter to power the freezer.

Oh, but it carried it initially. Are u still on a 12v inverter or had to upgrade to 24v? I'm on a 1050va inverter and the rated power is 730w. It powered the chest freezer of 105w initially but later on started showing the short circuit error.

I tried it on a table top fridge of 55w and it's still showing the short circuit error. What inverter size do you thing I can upgrade to, to at least power the 55w fridge?

Thanks for the response, btw.

PH is probably the most expensive state in Nigeria. Don't move there. You've been warned.

It's good u used probably, because I know there are state capitals with higher cost of living than Port Harcourt. You can still find a decent 1 bedroom flat in Port Harcourt for 400k with water and dining and a place to park ur car in PH. Just avoid all these new houses because they were built with high cost building materials. The least you'd find for these ones is 500k if you're lucky.

I just don't understand why this junk food price will be soaring like DStv price per second.
In the first place, I don't even see Indomie as a healthy food.
If Nigerians can just forget the fast nature of cooking this wormlike food for a while, the price will drop flat by force.

People are still buying in cartons. That indomie is one food that I rarely crave.

Bosses in the house, please I have an issue. I connected my 105w freezer to my 1050v inverter, and I got a message saying "short circuit, please check wiring". Please, what could be the cause of this?

Other appliances like my TV, laptop, lights work normal. The message only shows when I plug the freezer, and then the inverter would go off. If it were an overload issue, it would have shown the overload warning message. This is where I'm getting confused.

Thanks for all your contributions in advance.

Food / Re: Are some retailers deliberately hiking prices? Whats happening In Nigeria? by Nteogwuija(m): 7:50pm On Feb 29, 2024
Offpoint1:
They are. Once they heard price of dollar has increased, these folks will automatically increase the prices of items. I keep wondering if Naira is Nigeria currency or dollar.

The one I can't fathom till date is garri. No part of garri processing involves dollar, but the price keeps skyrocketing.

When I entered Lagos 2018, a paint rubber of garri was sold N400. How it becomes N2500 today I don't understand.

The garri sellers also buy stuffs from the market, so they'd need to compensate for the high prices of other commodities they buy in the market.

For the retailers hiking prices once the dollar rises, I won't blame them. Because u don't expect them to sell at the previous lower rate they bought those items only to go another time and prices increased, that'd be a loss for them.

My major problem with this is that most of them don't review the prices when the exchange rate declines, just a few are honest about it.

The government should as a matter of urgency set up price control task forces across the federation to go after mischievous retailers and wholesalers, else their efforts in strengthening the Naira will not be felt by the common man.

Visitors visa, like student visa is also a legal means to go to the US, only that visitors’ visa may have a shorter duration, while students’ visa ranges from 1-4yrs depending on the duration of the study. Also, you can get married on a visitor’s visa, even after your visa has expired, just like you can marry after your student visa has expired. Don’t let one here fool you about entering the US….just make sure you come into the US with any visa and you will be fine, even after expiration. The only thing is be prepared to get married to a permanent resident or a citizen. We dey run am wella with Mexicans and Cubans, for Florida.

Secondly, it’s best you learn a skill before leaving Nigeria as you will easily fit into a job site than someone with no experience. Learns construction skills like bricklayer, or electrician, or plumbing, or carpentry, or pipe fitting, or auto mechanic/Air conditioning. You can’t go wrong as you will make more dough than office workers who wasted time in a university, with huge student loans

Again, whatever you do, DON’T EVER come into the US via illegal crossing the Mexican or Canadian borders. Don’t ever use oju Oloju (look alike) to enter any western country or else, you’ll be toast!

Thanks, man. I really do appreciate.

I am telling you from experience dude. My own experience and you are here doubting me? Shoooooo
That's why I said, he should move legally.
You don't need any fund to be an apprentice Mr man. The company hires you as an apprentice, pays you hourly like $20 to $22 an hour until you are done training.
So many endless companies are looking for apprentices.
The problem with Nigerians are lack of knowledge and information. When you move to America, find apprenticeship skill job learn, the company will be paying you while you learn.
Once done, they give you your own van or truck equipped, give you loan for tools, you work and take your professional exams.
That's the root I am on Mr man.

Sorry to bother you. But how does one move to the US legally if not through school? And I have learned that the visit visas don't cut it.

Secondly, about the skills, do you advise that one start learning one here in Nigeria or just wait till one gets to the US?

Thanks for your response in advance.

Bosses, please the battery voltage on the inverter vs the one on the charge controller, which is more accurate?

Cuz the inverter and charge controller are giving different volts, although with a slight difference.

Secondly, are tubular batteries also called flooded batteries?

Thanks in advance.

Modern freezers are now energy efficient.
Is ur inverter satchet?
Saw an Aeon 150w freezer at 98w I was impressed.

No, it's the Su-kam Falcon+ 1050v pure sine wave inverter. They actually wrote energy efficient on the body of the freezer.

Not safe since the continuous is not even up to 500w.

Boss, so I decided to try that 105w deep freezer with my 1kva inverter. I switched off everything and put on the freezer. The inverter didn't even indicate that there was an overload. The freezer worked and I checked the inverter and the load was just 17%. I was surprised.

12v 1.6kva true continuous 800w.
Though currently using 3kva. Switches at times.

Is ur 1kva psw?

Start up for freezer is 5 to 9times the wattage.

Yea, it's pure sine wave.

How do you check the true continuous of the inverter?
