SLAP44:
Many of the people opening these threads are not Igbo people but impostors who thinks that by using partly of full Igbo names as monikers, they can deceive themselves and not Igbos.

1. Count how many unnecessary armed men are on checkpoints from Onitsha to Enugu collecting money brazenly, how many new checkpoints have been established since 2015? grin

2. How many people have been killed in avoidable circumstances in the s e since 2015?

Stop your propaganda because it's dead on arrival.

Oga those who know me can always testify that i am from Imo state so i dont need to forge anything,

I also agree with you that some people are claiming to be igbo here falsely

I agree with you that there are a lot of army check points but on the other hand their presence have reduced armed robbery cases on those roads.

Politics / Igbos Assessment Of Buhari Government So Far As We Go Home This Season by Nwadiuto247: 4:52pm On Dec 25, 2019
Umunna ndewo nu o.
Pls lets put sentiment aside as we are returning home this season. kindly take a look at the work that Buhari has done so far in Igbo land and report here. Its an infrastructural assessment.

1. For me i observe serious reconstruction of roads from Umuahia to Enugu,

2. Another serious road work ongoing from Enugu to Anambra.

3. Serious work on second Nigeria is going on too.

Jonathan spent almost six years in power without working seriously on these projects but Buhari came and today we can see big progress being made on the various projects.
Pls nobody should abuse the president here pls. Just comment decently. thanks.

i will post more as i travel from one part of Igbo land to the other

Wisdomkosi:
"N37b For Renovation Of National Assembly Is Not Even Enough" - Rep. Member

A House of Representatives Member, Hon. Chinedu Ogah, has said that the N37b approved for the renovation of the National Assembly is not even enough.

Igbere TV reports that the member representing Ezza south/ Ikwo federal constituency, Hon. on weekend said 'where you have 109 senators with their aides, you have 366 Reps members with their aides and other staff in that area. By the time you see that amount people are complaining about, you will see that the money is not even enough.'

Ogah who spoke to some Journalist in his Abakaliki resident noted that a lot of renovation needs to be done at the legislative complex Abuja.

He said, “Where you have 109 senators with their aides, you have 366 Reps members with their aides and other staff in that area. By the time you see that amount people are complaining about, you will see that the money is not even enough.

“Power has not been stabilized and the National Assembly is still burning diesel. Part of the money is going to be used for alternative power supply and you know the cost of power. So, the budget is not bad, it is something that can help this country to stabilized. If the National Assembly is not properly taken care of, you will not have good laws”, he said.

Meanwhile Ogah, elected on the platform of All Progressives Congress(APC), commended President Muhammadu Buhari for the availability of fuel in every filling station across the country at this yuletide season.

Season's Greetings From All Of Us At Igbere TV. Africa's No1 Community TV.

You echoed my thoughts. When we talk about financial autonomy, can universities pay their workers without FG sending the money?

From his points, I think universities have autonomy in all aspect except financial autonomy. Until they start making more money to pay their workers, they should key into the federal government payroll

Are you ready to pay 350k tuition? If the Universities should source for fund it means there will be high increase in fees

Igbos here were few that time and they tormented us so much.

Now more igbos are here firing back at them and they are playing saints. Hypocrisy is bad

edoairways:
Some Nigerians argue out of sentiment without been objective. They tend to view it from one angle without looking at the other side. The filmsy excuse this government gave was to accuse ASUU members of receiving salaries from two or more public universities. This is not possible except when the lecturer is on sabbatical leave or an adjunct staff. Many Nigerians may criticize all they want however should the government stick to that policy, be ready for increment in tuition fees.

You are right
Education / See One Reason You Should Stop Blaming ASUU by Nwadiuto247: 12:06pm On Dec 02, 2019
Some people here are blaming ASUU out of ignorance, Here are reasons why you should stop blaming ASUU.

All the school fees you pay in federal universities go into treasury single account (TSA) owned by FG, Thats you all pay through Remita,

The money is not enough to run the universities so FG adds money to it in order be able to run the universities.

This means that federal government is subsidizing your school fees.

Federal government has been using several means to push universities to increase school fees and charge like the private universities so that they wont be subsidizing your school fees for you again,'

ASUU has been resisting them all these years,, FG now wants to cripple ASUU so that they can achieve their aim of raising the school fees,

We know how Nigeria government works. If they succeed in crippling ASUU then sorry for university students.

You that is reading this post can you pay 350k as school fees? Beware of the danger ahead.
Education / Re: IPPIS: ASUU Asks FG Why Staff Of CBN, NDIC, FIRS Are Not On The Payment System by Nwadiuto247: 10:25am On Dec 02, 2019
Arsenella007:

You are not in the university system so you don't know what you are saying. The universities generate alot of money, I mean millions.. They don't remit nothing to the government, yet the government pays salaries, provides tetfund for research, infrastructure, also research grants that's is not accounted for, etc.. What happens to the school fees, the acceptance fees, the other IGRs? Most universities don't even pay the allowances the are supposed to pay their workers, cut their salaries..

You know nothing.

All school fees go into the federal government TSA.

Thats why you pay thru Remita. You think its schools that take school fees?

School fees as it is currently charged cannot be enough to pay university staff. There must be an increase before it will be sufficiient to maitain the universities. Government is subsidising it your fees by adding the[rs.

Arsenella007:
Until universities are able to generate revenue and remit some percentage to the Federal government, then they can have financial autonomy. The government pays and bankrolls everything in the Universities, without getting any monetary returns from the said Universities so the government can dictate and decide what gives.. Simple.. The above mentioned organisations do generate and remit to the government.
If universities should generate fund like the other ones as you said, it means school fees will rise to 350k per student.

How many parents can afford this?
