Hmmmm..... It is well is all I can say. Sometimes, when I think about the whole stuff, I will start loosing it and boom, depression almost setting in... Wifey had to find way to encourage me.... She too lost her job last month due to health reasons (missed few days to treat herself). But in all, we're not sick (mentally & physically) that's something to thank God for cause we won't want to add that to this.....

But it's a light at the tunnel.... Let's keep hope alive and avoid short cuts....... But being a man is a huge responsibility

I'm telling you, the lord will at his time renew our strengths once more, amen! My regards to your wife. Pls be strong boss, God will help us all

Lol, lucky me?....I wasn't retained naw. No corper was retained.

Yes, having experience is very paramount as an ad-hoc staff coz you'll be scanning OMR sheets for thousands of students.

I worked in the Online and Complaints Unit, so we hardly Scan Result Sheets... Just strictly Online related issues. We were just two in the unit in 2021.

You should have applied for their adhoc staff then. You're well equipped to handle the tasks. Heard they'll be recruiting before the year runs out. Heard Prof Ushishi, the new head of NECO has been really improved their pay & working conditions. I.T students now getting close to 150k

Most of you in Minna are those who served and chose to remain there.. Maitumbi, ducenkwora, bajago, people them. Minna is cool Sha, close to Abuja. Few hours.

I'm not from Minna boss, I'm stuck here cos of this crazy ASUU strike. I am from Akwa Ibom state, very far from here. Speaking of serving, I did mine in Osogbo Osun state. I came here strictly to get my certificate and bounce back to the street of job hunting. Didn't know it'll turn out this way.

Nothing presently.... I had a car I was using for hustling but I sold it and the expensive amount cars are being sold has made me used the money to sustain my family...... The bills I face daily,it's crazy when you have nothing entering your hand.....

But it's a phase sha.

I'm telling you my brother, this this last I had close to $1.5k on my E-wallet. Crypto crashed, plus the family issues I had to handle during Christmas and everything went down to zeros. Since then I've been struggling.

I can relate to this. Though I graduated last year, life hasn't been easy for me as well. I pray the almighty God in his infinite mercy hears our heart desires.

I'm also the first son, from a humble background. I've been applying for different graduate trainee Jobs before I will clock 28yrs this coming January, since 27yrs is always their age limit. I was managing a 15k teaching job that wasn't meeting my needs so I had to quit and I'm currently thinking of starting home lessons.

The first time I went to Abuja from minna was for a first bank aptitude test last week. Initially, I planned on not going being that I had only 4k on me...I've been struggling to feed, some days I starve. I've forgotten what it feels like to be happy.

Nigeria has happened to me...

For every graduate facing hard times out there, I pray that in no distant time, we will find our destiny helpers and be happy again.

I'm also in Minna, Bosso precisely. I was in Abuja last week as well for the just concluded Waec recruitment test at Jahi. Let's connect. God help us all

Hello Bosses in house! Good morning all!

My name is Goodnews from Akwa Ibom State, I'm a graduate of Electrical/Electronics Technology Education [with also an M.Tech in-view]. Since 2016 I graduated, I've been on this job hunting street without really finding anything productive for myself.

Life has not really been easy especially for one that comes from a family with no support system anywhere. By that I mean, there was absolute no one I would say I want to fall back to for job after graduation. So I had to go out and hustle for my survival.

As the first in a family of five, I won't lie, my parents have given their all to push me this far in life. Me on the other hand, I have given my best to be relevant in life by always fighting to do things that will better my life and bring joy to my mother. I've done several jobs, ranging from teaching, home lessons, bank relieve jobs etc, you name it cry

It was out of the growing frustration I faced and plus the fact that I wasn't really adding to myself that made me decide to return back to school for my masters in 2020. I never knew this whole thing would turnout to be like this. Two good years now wasted on top Covid 19 and ASUU strikes. I am depressed my brothers, I am 30years already with nothing to show for it. My mates have all gone far ahead of me, [Dem no dey send me again]. My mom and siblings are really suffering cry . This is not how I envisioned my life to be.

So house pls, I seriously need help in getting a job, I don't have anyone to fall to. I don't mind working for a year to pay whoever will slot into any of these government agencies or parastatals.

Pls anyone that feel like helping out should reach me via the mail below: goodmanobad@gmal.com

I applied for this already. Though am a graduate one must not be ashamed to do it especially when things are not going as planned...... Thank you for this thread God bless you richly.

My brother! When it comes to hustling for survival [especially in this current regime], there's nothing to be ashamed of as you're not alone. I am a graduate just like you, even with an MSc in view. We are many! I am still in this same street with u hustling to get a car for HP as well. God will help us all, amen.

Tommymoses:

Thanks boss Man, for following this thread.

Concerning the feeding I feed the chick with just granded corn, local fowl don't need any commercial feed.

Also I free range them exactly after 4 weeks, plus I do pack them in the evening inside the cage.

They roam around my compound, if them steal my fowl them don steal ogun (God of iron) b dat. grin grin

Lmao grin grin [I dey believe you man].

But don't you think that it'll be nearly impossible to notice when your fowl get stolen especially as the number increases?

Remember, your plan [from your write up] is to target close to 500 hens, each producing 50 chicks per year. All amounting to 25,000 fowls. That will be too much wahala to cope, and plus the fact that local fowls dey craze on a norm.

When I start, I won't go that high sha, 100 hens at 50 chicks per year [5000 fowls] will be a great target for me.

Top Sheriff! Thanks for the job well done here, this is my first time here, I must say you're doing a great job. I am a student of FUT minna and I reside in bosso. For a while now I've been searching for contacts on how to go into this egusi business (and probably garden egg business) but to no avail. Got this idea the last time I was traveling to PH, at the park where i board my vehicle, i saw lots of egusi bags been sent on waybill to Onitsha. There I knew there was something about the business. Thank you for bringing this here, God bless you.

I'll like to get few bags of the egusi and maybe, any other profitable farm produce you'll recommend for me.

I understand your plight bro... but I'm just wondering how you survive with 18k in a month. Highest I can manage 18k on my food alone is 2 weeks.

Let me tell you, if you're waiting for money or laptop to learn a skill you might wait far longer. I learned Web design 10 years ago with Nokia 3110c with partial screen damage and a notebook.

I was using Etisalat then because they give me 10Mb on every #100 recharge. So, I'll use that 10mb to visit tizag, w3school, and nairaland webmaster section. As I'm learning html, css, etc, I'll be writing it down on a notebook.

I got a laptop after nysc, then I started practicing. Today, I sub 120GB/month of which I exhaust in less than a month most times.

The time and data you spend on social media and nairaland can be channeled to a site where you'll learn a digital skill. There are many of them. Forget video tutorials, go for written content.

Remember, 90% of Americans are doing what they don't have passion for to put food on their tables and pay bills. Where I'm driving at here is, learn a skill even if you don't have passion for it. Make the money and then follow your passion.

Don't take this advice for granted.

1. Hello Boss, is it only web programming you're doing currently?

2. How much do you make monthly to be spending that much on subscription?

I need ginger, cos I'm planning to start with the website programming class next month before going onto software development. I have visited two places as regards this programming thing, the first guy encouraged me to learn software development, that I'll easily get jobs with skill as oppose to website programming. While the second guy said I should start with website programming being that I don't have any pre-knowledge in the field.

I need something that'll fetch me instant money the moment I start practicing. So as a pro in the field, I need your help on which one should be preferable, money wise.

I swear! I've been there before bro, it's not a good place to be, so I totally understand what you went through. Those guys act as if they're gods [with same BSc like every other person] just because they're superiors on a job they will eventually leave one day.

I was there as a teller for a year, I didn't even see half of what the OP saw before I decided to quite. It is not a funny place to place as a contract staff. Mine was crazy man, to cap it all, my BM was a nagging & rude lady, she fights blue and red with anyone that crosses her path. Wheneve she's talking and I don't join her & her gossip partner, na there she go start to dey beef me, as if we had a quarrel. Me as a smart guy, I had to blend in quickly since I noticed that's what she wanted to avoid issues, but I did that with wisdom sha. At the end of the day, the issues I was fighting hard to avoid still came my path. At the end of the day, I had to leave. I never liked the job tho, no room for self development. The stress and the peanut salary didn't even mk matters easy for me sef.
