I paid for my renewal online, I've been driving with the stamped printout with my picture attached (no temporary license because I bypassed capturing) . Nobody has stopped me to check since so I don't know yet if I should be afraid or not

Your are right they have seize my driver license b4
izzou:

Driving with your original DL has an advantage, especially for FRSC

If he's booked by the road safety, they can actually seize his original DL instead of impounding his car.

I use my original DL, but na only Road Safety I dey present am to.

Why are u people still working with Uber app in this critical time for me bolt is best for now. Have even forgotten that I have an active uber app.
xana101:
thanks bro. Please who get addresses of all isolation centre in Lagos so man go avoid those areas. This is the second time I’m hearing this. Once they discharged corona patients, there families refuse to come pick them home so they book Uber or bolt. With all this risk Uber still get mind charge 25% at a reduced fare. God go punish them.

It is well my brother.
Felicity0001:

Not active at thw moment. Remember it's a promo and notification is always sent first thing every Monday but at this time it has not been made available.

If you ask me, I'll say this lift on the lockdown is very much unnessary.

Though I understand the government want the poor in the society to use this time to raise some money to sustain them for some time since they can not provide palliatives to keep them at home for long while they fight they virus.

But looking deep and using uber driving as a yard stick. How much can a driver net a day?
Most businesses are under locks and keys.
Most banks are branches are closed.
Religious houses, all social gatherings, club houses, schools, airport and many others are locked indefinately.

How then do they want the poor to even have something reasonable within the hours allowed to to go out in a day? The other day I decided to drive I managed to gross 9k+ I was left with almost nothing after buying fuel, alcoholic disinfectant, data subscription, call card and a few other depending things.

Fast forward to next day, I watched my phone drained out in my sitting room, the only two requests that came in where short trips with long pickup and. to my unfavorable destinations, ended up cancelling them. Nextday, was even worse after taking a trip from Abule Egba to lekki.

Trip ended N4100
Uber commission was N980
Bought fuel N2k
Bought something to eat N700
Managed to carry out 3 short card trips within lekki axis after long wait at intervals in the sun.
It waa closing time and no trip waa coming to take me out of the island.
Called the rider I carried if he would like me to take him back but rider said he waa joining his colleague back home.
O menh, I'd to carry road side picking.

In the end I just thought, what's the unnessary suffering for when one can not boast of coming back home with at least 5-7k after buying fuel and paying commission so one can set aside money for weekly rent and still have some amount for family.

So to me driving at this time is not worth it but will only create a problem btw driver and owners partner because it Will be very very difficult for any driver to pay even 10k weekly.

Anytime I see your post, I instantly develop Migraine! Do u even reason with your head at all?? No sane person will even propose this in developed countries with good security architecture. Here u are in Nigeria proposing night way of life for a country with the poorest security & highest poverty level in the world? It is not even safe to move in the day, u are talking about night? I really don't know if u exhibit this level of senselessness for fun, but I tell u the truth today, a fowl is more sensible than u! Gosh!

What is this Wan saying?
Felicity0001:
To me the best way To relax this lockdown is restrict movement from 6am to 7pm them people can be free to move at night, this will give rise to a 24hrs economic system Gov Fashola has always wanted to make happen. And after this whole pandemic is over you will see how major cities like Lagos, FCT, Oh and a few others become a centre of attraction to foreign investors.

With this idea Gov will do their best to make elextricity available, street light a must and security a major thing.

We need to start thinking outside the box and start appreciating the advantages and disadvantages that come along this pandemic.

Thanks izzou am still learning. And I will surely create a thread for it when I start.
izzou:
Ofime123

My advice is just LEARN THE ROPES. I like the fact that you are not discouraged, but also remember that there are moments of failures, there are moments when you'll get burnt

Don't be carried away by the profits just yet. IF IT WAS THAT EASY, EVERYBODY WILL BE DOING IT

Truck business no easy, even if na one truck. Remember that the port is congested. It may take days to get to Tincan, and even come out. Remember the recession coming soon too. Importation may be slow from henceforth

Just watch brother. And I hope you start a thread about it, so everyone can learn.

And when the money start coming in, no forget to spray us cool

You have spoken well
BAZ001:

Please go ahead bro.
I tried not to comment but I love your spirit.
If the business is not good we won't be seeing thousands of trucks coming to Lagos every day.
Ehailing is no more lucrative yet I still see people buying cars to give out on hp and drivers asking for cars to drive. Lagos don full with Coro boys yet some drivers still boast of 25k net everyday.

I don't believe because 10 people failed in a business means everyone will fail in it.
Business / Re: If You Are Uber Partner In Lagos, Please Share Your Experience Here by ofime123(m): 9:06am On Apr 23, 2020
Thanks according to what I found out from my inlaw u need to be fully involve in the business or else you will fail. So if u have the courage of doing a motor boy on your truck for 6month or 1year u will susceed. That is what he did. And that's what am going to do.
Lush100:
Sir,
I like you.
You are talking from experience
And that risk part, u are very right.
Anyone who fears failure cannot succeed as far as business is concerned,
Learn to fail early, understand quickly and do what you want to do.
There are no shortcut.
Of course u have to pray and Trust God for favor so nothing unexpected happens like this coronavirus that has taken lots of people livelyhood away.
This month i still get paid from my PMS business. I mean paid in full in this coronavirus era.
I wanted to go into distributorship business or haulage to two years ago, I got discouraged from haulage( or the information I had was not encouraging) then I went into PMS business
I couldn't get the right product for distributorship so I challked it off.
Though I got the right information on the part that driver's can ruin your business and other info(even the person I was making enquires from who is a driver into distributorship is not honest.person when dealing with money) but I was going into it to do full time managing and modify my business operations.
On to another business, It's either of haulage, transport or farming (or an outside chance of exporting naija made clothes and fabrics)that I am heading towards.
Of course with a modification to suit the percularity of naija environment in the case of transportation.
No rush but u have to look at time too so that changes in business environment don't alter your projections or profit.
If I have spare time, I can link up with you just to know more about the haulage.
I ain't afraid at all but I am cautious and ruthless when taking decisions.
See if I have to sleep in "face me I slap u house "
or to learn how to drive a haulage truck just to get over the line I don't mind one bit,
There's no big man mentality , it's about achieving a goal.

Good luck sir

Thanks bros am going for a tokunbo truck
Nero2424:

Do it yourself you will be successful, however make sure your learn the trade before jumping in. Interact more often with drivers that own and drive their own truck, That way you will get a refined understand of the pros and cons.

Lastly make sure u buy a healthy truck and not those truck built in the late 70ties. Make sure your break systems are very effective because na for only Nigerian I dey hear say trailer fail break kill okada driver.
Business / Re: If You Are Uber Partner In Lagos, Please Share Your Experience Here by ofime123(m): 8:48am On Apr 23, 2020
Bros I didn't bother to invest in Uber business I only drove the Uber my self. If I want to invest 3or4 cars on Uber I can do u. Like I said I just don't like the way the price are determine by Uber and bolt. They make u believe that you are your own boss. But deep within u are working for them. Because if you are truly your own boss or partner like they claim. Partner should also be able to determine price. So don't make it look like I invested in Uber and wasn't suscesful.

And why will I give my self headache of managing 4 drivers when I can just managing one truck driver. I can go the extra miles when it comes to business if I have driven danfo b4 what makes u think I can be motor boy on my truck for at lease 6month.
So think about it.
dru23:

Thanks bro.. He thinks am discouraging him , my point is if he can't successfully manager uber cars or uber drivers, how do u think he will do well with truck drivers...

You see madness gets different level .. Truck drivers madness is above madness, because you dealing with stack illiterates and fetish people, during my experience I was told some truck owners do fetish things to protect themselves from fetish drivers.. It is very common in the haulage business.. Me I no fit do am ....but I wish him the best ......
Business / Re: If You Are Uber Partner In Lagos, Please Share Your Experience Here by ofime123(m): 8:20am On Apr 23, 2020
I just tire for this my oga dru so because drivers are fettish. Someone will not do business again.

Bros not everyone is afraid of fettish people. Because I have dealt with so many fettish people before. Bros for me to be were I am today. If I was afraid of fettish people I wouldn't have achieve what I have today.
dru23:

One thing I learn in life , if you can't handle little challenges ,how can u handle bigger ones... one thing I observe in Nigeria business environment, people tend to start a business, and if the business does not work out. They move to another business, and the circles continue all over again... I wish the young man the best. ... And one thing I learn from those haulage drivers, they are very ,very and very fetish .. But if you tell the young man that , He will say he is covered with the Blood Of Jesus.... Well what do I know...

I like your spirit bro, but don't learn from your in law bro... Go and learn this stuff from outsider and don't act as if you want to invest. Please start from the lowest point and watch how they lie and steal from the owner so you will understand the rudiments and how to handle drivers with lies. Also know the market value for spare parts so you won't help someone to build his house ontop your head....

There is no amount of discouragement that can stop someone that already made up his mind. If you watch I really don't talk much here. Am more secretive when it comes to doing something.
Have been into transport business long ago while I was in delsu. I have a shuttle bus I drove it my self. Even after graduation I bought a a t4 bus short chassis tokunbo for about 600k then and I drove it my self and made a lot of money with it. I had to sell it of cause I got a building contract in epkoma. When I came back from ekpoma that was when I started ehailing.

Now I didn't say there is no money in ehailing but I need to grow. But how will u grow if you stay in one place. For someone to be a suscessful businessman you need to take risk. And have taken a lot of Risk so I have nothing to fear or worry about.
