His Excellency Silas Ali Agara was born 4th April 1972, into the family of Mr and Mrs Ali Agara of Akwanga local government Area in Nasarawa state, Nigeria.
He is a Nigerian politician, sport enthusiast and the former deputy governor of Nasarawa State. He previously served as the Special Adviser on Sports to the Nasarawa State Governor, and was announced as the running mate to Umaru Tanko Al-Makura in 2015
Before now , he was appointed by the past administration of president Mohammad Buhari as the National commissioner National population commission representing Nasarawa state.
Currently, president Bola Ahmed Tinibu appointed HE. Silas Agara as the Director general National Directorate of employment (NDE).

The appointment was in consideration of his pedigree and positive hardworked towards the true actualization of the primordial Aims,Principles and Objectives of the president Tinibu *RENEWED HOPE JOURNEY.*

In order to fulfil the statutory mandate of *NDE HE. SILAS AGARA* will focus on the already established four major area of intervention, which includes Vocational Development. Entrepreneurship development and Agriculture Skills Training geared

HE Silas Agara , the Director General of the *National Directorate of Employment (NDE),* is on a revolution to reposition the NDE to meet up with the *Renewed Hope Agenda* that addresses job creation, improved micro economy and curbing youth restiveness among others.

The Federal Capital Territory High Court sitting in Nyanyan Abuja will on December 11th deliver judgment in a case of legal interpretation of whether any institution has a right to choose how to obey a specific court order. Pointedly the court is going to rule on whether the Inspector General of Police has the right to take over the investigation of a direct criminal complaint given by a court to a specific police formation without reverting to the court in the form of notification.

The matter which was filed by UNINVOICE Chambers on behalf of his client, Njoku Ifeanyichukwu is an off-shoot of a matter from Chief magistrate court sitting in Dutse Alhaji, Abuja wherein the applicant, Njoku Ifeanyichukwu initiated a direct criminal complaint against Ms. Odom Anurika Anita (Nee Obasi) for alleged certificate forgery and job racketeering.

After listening to the prayers of the applicant, the magistrate ordered that FCT commissioner of Police should investigate the matter and get back to the court after the enquiry.
However, somewhere along the line of investigation, the Inspector General of Police got interested in the matter and ordered the Deputy Inspector General of Police, FCID to take over the case file from the CP, Abuja, an incident which the applicant found very curious.
Apparently dissatisfied with the manner the case was being wringed out of the hand of the person the court ordered to look into the allegation by the top hierarchy of the police, the applicant elected to approach the FCT High court Nyayan, Abuja vide an originating summons for proper interpretation of the order of the lower court (Chief Magistrate Court)
His prayer is that the order of the magistrate court was specific and direct to the commissioner of Police FCT citing several authorities to back its position and that the IG’s office cannot take over the matter without carrying along the court that gave the order.
But the respondent represented by Agba. C . Martin contends that the order of the court was made to the whole Police force while further challenging the competence of the originating summons albi nitio to suffice in a matter of criminal investigations.

The trajectory of this contentious matter dates back to October last year when Njoku Ifeanyichukwu who claims to know Ms Odom Anita Anukira (Nee Obasi) to her roots dragged her before a Chief Magistrate court in Dutse Alhaji for allegations bothering on criminal conspiracy, job racketeering, forgery, cheating and use of forged university degree certificate to secure job with the Federal Capital Development Authority.
Ms. Odom Anita Anukira(Nee Obasi) who is an in-law of former minister of state FCT during Jonathan’s regime, Chuka Odum , was alleged to have failed out of university of Port Harcourt, faculty of Education, Department of Educational foundation in 2006/2007 session and that the certificate she used to secure employment with the Federal Capital Development Authority, Bsc Political and Administrative Studies was forged as she never graduated from the University let alone from the department of Political science.
Ifeanyichukwu further averred in an affidavit deposed to at the Chief Magistrate court that all Ms Odom Anita has is a WAEC result obtained in 2000 which she used to enter the university in 2002 and that between 2004 and 2006, this same Anita was living in Dubai, therefore, she couldn’t have been running an undergraduate course in Port Harcourt while at the same time living in Dubai when the course was not an online course.

To buttress his litany of allegations, the affidavit detailed a list of documents to ascertain the claims. They include: The 2007/2008 University of Port Harcourt 25th convocation ceremony handbook for the award of certificates, first degrees and higher degrees in which Ms. Odom Anita’s name was not included.
Second, a duly signed and stamped letter from the office of the Registrar, University of Port Harcourt responding to a request about the profile of Ms Odom Anurika Anita, the university stated clearly that Odom Anita was actually a student of the university with the facaulty of Education, but failed out in 2006\2007 session having scored a cumulative average point of 1.48.

Third, the NYSC profile request which also showed that she never served the one year mandatory scheme for all graduates of tertiary institutions in Nigeria.

But in a statement she offered to the Police in her hand writing, Odom Anurika Anita who is a level 13 officer with the Abuja Geographical Information systems denied all the allegations leveled against her by the applicant Njoke Ifeanyichukwu, describing them as patently false and the handiwork of some desperate elements to intimidate and distract her from her from her job.

In her counter affidavit opposing the originating summons of the applicant, she stated inter alia….. I never failed out of the University of Port Harcourt in 2007 or any other institution of learning nor forged any degree certificate from any institution of learning any never used the said degree certificate to secure employment with the FCT or FCDA.’

The Police report equally lent credence to her claim as a letter written from the office of the Registrar in response to Police enquiry says she obtained a Bsc Political and Administrative studies from the University in 2006/2007. A copy of the letter which the police have filed as part of their investigations was signed by one Mrs Nkechi Barinua for Deputy Registrar Academics, but does not bear a stamp of the office of issuance.

Mrs turned a year older in July 2022, a day that didn't quite end well for Mr Azuibike Martins Eze. On this day Mr Eze Discovered his wife had been cheating on him with his long-time best friend and this had been happening for quite a while. You can imagine how demoralizing that must have been for Mr.

He got really bothered by the latest discovery and one part of him was considering overlooking it but his emotions couldn't just permit him. Such feeling is really justified, knowing how much he loved and cherished his wife, and the good times and emotions they have both shared over time. He proceeded to confront her about her affair with his best friend. At first, she blatantly denied but after much persuasion and undeniable evidence, she confessed to actually cheating on her husband, Mr Eze, with his best friend, Mr Desmond Maduka.

Mr Eze felt all shades of heartbreak. The kind you feel when your trust has been broken. Broken not by an outsider, but by two individuals whom he has grown into loving and trusting unconditionally with every fiber of his being. This heart-crushing act by his wife and best friend, left him questioning a lot of things, wondering if all he and these two people had shared during the cause of life have been true or just a big lie. More questions kept crossing his mind, one of so many was if he is the father of the 4 kids he had with Mrs. Just for clarity and the risk of not losing his mind and sanity, Mr Eze suggested a DNA test. Shockingly, Mrs Uju Azuibike Eze turned the DNA test down, this extra act by Mrs Eze left Mr Eze with more questions that led him to a conclusion, divorce. He went ahead to do the necessary filings.

Weeks went by and he made his divorce intention known to his wife, Mrs Eze. This of course didn't go well with her. It also gave Mr Eze a clear view of and true side of the woman he married. She lost her cool and suddenly started sending threats to Mr. Eze. Initially, these threats sounded like bluffs, until she started to bring most of them to reality. Days after these threats were sent to Mr Eze he left town for a business transaction. While he was at it, Mrs Uju Azuibike Eze , his wife started sending him videos of her destroying his personal belongings [clothes] and other home appliances he spent money buying.

These acts threw her husband off balance, so he decided to reach out to her mom to probably call her to order. Unfortunately, that didn't work, instead, it led to more threats. This time, it was a death threat from both Mrs Eze and her mother. They threatened to destroy and end Mr Eze's life, using diabolical and fetish means. He got really scared for his life and decided to report all of these to the appropriate authorities.

The threats didn't end, as Mrs Uju Azuibike Eze took a step further by reaching out to some social media bullies, who have since been bullying, insulting, threatening, and tarnishing Her husband's image to the general public. Mr Eze, a legitimate businessman got really unsettled, being accused, bullied, and threatened solely because he wanted to leave a marriage that in his words 'wasn't healthy for his sanity. Is he wrong for wanting to pull out?

Months after discovering His wife was cheating on him, Mr. Eze started seeing a new lady, to get his mind back on track, an act which he didn't hide as he was openly processing his divorce with Mrs. Uju Azuibike Eze . This also did not go down with his wife who has been cheating on him and who also might have supposedly bored her 4 children for Mr. Eze's best friend, Mr. Desmond Maduka, or someone else whom he hasn't discovered. She went on social media again, accusing her husband of being an irresponsible father and husband, who never provides for his family. Mr. Eze stated how she accuses him of not meeting her and their children's financial needs. he also categorically stated that he gives his wife nothing lesser than #500,000 [Five hundred thousand Naira] monthly, for personal and children's needs. Below, are proof of regular funding.

It over time came to Mr. Eze's notice that Mrs. Eze wasn't using the money sent to her by her husband, strictly for her and the children's on actual upkeep, instead, she spent it on alcohol, smoking shish and other vices.

Mr Azuibike Martins Eze is trying the best he can, to cut ties with Mrs. Uju Azuibike Eze so he can go back to living a healthier life without emotional blackmails, death threats, and any other thing that tampers with his mental health,.

Gaby Splash Waters finally gets launched on the 28th of November 2021. This is a brainchild of Business Mogul Adedapo Morenigbade.
The event took place at its factory, opposite Osun State University, Ikire campus, Oloro Road, Osun State Nigeria.
The founder of the business Adedapo Morenigbade says he set this up as a stepping stone and point of reference for other business owners to know that there is a lot the town can offer to the world and there isnt any reason why Ikire town should be underdeveloped. He also added, that Ikire has one of the purest water in the country, for it not to be taking advantage of and marketed to other neighbouring states. He strongly indulged other business moguls and youths to improve the town’s development, by setting up other kinds of profitable business in Ikire, so the town can make some money for itself and also be on the same, if not higher pedestal as other developed states in the countrty

The Gaby Splash Water Factory’s launch, was graced by a lot of dignitaries. To mention a few; Akire of Ikire land, Oba Olatunde Falabi, Lambeloye III, who cut the the ribbon, Akogun Kamarudeen Olalere: He was chairman of Irewole Local Government on a platform of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) and a member of Nigerian House of Representatives in the third Republic. He is the former Commissioner in the National Population Commission, Abuja Chief Imam of Ikire was also present, representatives from CAN President. Opeyemi Adeboye who is the chairman of Irewole North East, Ogundele Bashiru Idakula PDP chairman Irewole local government Monsurudeen Badmus Adekunle Imam andarudeen Arimiyau Owoade apc irewole local government chairman Sweet sisters club of Ikire Party faithfuls from both APC and PDP Ikire indigenes. Also in attendance were Morenigbade's friends and family members, both immediate and extended.


Dignitaries expressed their excitements and appreciation to Morenigbade, for being really thoughtful by placing the development of Ikire , as his highest priority.

Dear Distinguished Young Colleagues;

One of the assumptions of Learning Curve Theory is that "when someone engages in a repetitive job over a long period, the time taken to execute the exercise reduces and efficiency is increased". Choosing leaders for future assignments today affords the progenies "hands-on" experiences from the crucible of retiring adults.

The time has come once again to set the pace that determines how far the Party's youths will be included in decision making and governance that assures continuity of APC and development of Ekiti state.

Young people constitute 60% of membership of every political party and so are valuable resources that can only be ignored at great loss but one would wonder why we do not take the advantage of the genuine opportunities in their numerical strength to take part in governance.

Our generation is one that is obsessed with quick results, often blissfully unaware of the concept of consistent hard work. When the elders are putting the structures together, we seem to focus on tokenism and "the highest bidder syndrome" with fleeting benefits which lasts but for a little while compared to being part and beneficiary of good governance for the next 4years.

The administration of Dr. Kayode Fayemi gave our youths the opportunity to thrive, the Deputy Chief of Staff, Commissioner for Finance, Health, SA's SSA's, Chairmen of LGA's and many more are youths. Ekiti 2022 APC Governorship primary election provides us another opportunity to deliver the Choice of the People and create more chances for continuity and youth inclusion in governance.

Before us is the man who was accorded with the responsibility of Secretary to the Committee on Creation of Ekiti at the age of 26years, Chief of Staff (CoS) to Governor at 34years, 11years as part of the Government of Ekiti, one time Student and Lecturer in our indigenous University (EKSU) in the person of Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji (BAO).

Biodun Oyebanji has the requisite experience in governance as SA, CoS, Head of Office, Commissioner and SSG to the Ekiti State Government. He was given the opportunity to serve as a youth and he devoted is time and discharged his responbilities diligently. We are confident of the replication of this by prioritizing youth inclusion in policy and decision making that affects them.

We are Fountain of Knowledge and in driving our Economy via our knowledge, there will be a need assessment to target the special, most critical sectors particularly, where very urgent actions are most suitable in the State, the nation and at the global level.

This will birth a deliberate approach to create an institutional platform where Ekiti students will be encouraged and supported to go into study and research and to train and retrain the youth to be solution finders and catch up with the global needs.

Consistency is all about being committed to your actions and it is the quickest way to climb the ladder of success. I didn’t come this far so that I can come this far, I came this far so that I can be strong enough to go further. For my entire political sojourn, I give glory to God Almighty and I appreciate my family, friends and many stakeholders who have journey with me through my life's trajectory and the roads I have traversed.

I am an advocate of continuity, it births growth. Continuity, undoubtedly, is a harbinger of growth. Ahead of #Ekiti 2022 Gubernatorial Elections, as Dr. Kayode Fayemi transfers the baton of leadership to a successor that represents the will of the people, it behoves on #Biodun #Abayomi #Oyebanji (#BAO), an illustrious and industrious son of my Jerusalem, Ikogosi Ekiti (Warm and Cold Spring City), to continue the multi-faceted development and sustain our restored identity and values in the Fountain of Knowledge. To say the least, it's a de facto duty call!

Biodun Oyebanji, an uncle and present Secretary to the State Government held three positions within four (4) years of Otunba #Richard #Adeniyi #Adebayo, CON tenor, the zenith being the Chief of Staff to the Governor. ROAD TO THE NIGERIA SKITS INDUSTRY AWARDS AND THE SKITS MAKERS VISIT TO THE VICE PRESIDENT - CLARIFICATIONS.

Vice President, His Excellency Yemi Osibanjo SAN recognises the place and Contributions of Skits Makers in National Development,  Pledges Continued  Support  Continued For The Creative & Entertainment Sector.

Presidential recognition topped the series of endorsements earlier received by the Nigeria Skits Industry Award as Vice President, Federal Republic of Nigeria, His Excellency, Prof. Yemi Osibanjo  received in audience  renowned  Skit Artistes  and members of Awards Council who paid a courtesy visit to the Villa in continuation of the awareness drive tagged ROAD TO THE AWARD.

The Vice President, himself a lover of  Skits and one who regularly watches them, mentioned several artistes and some of their works needed no convincing on the need to further recognise the artistes for their talents and creativity and the need to support that sector of the economy thereby encouraging the Nigerian youths.

The Promoter, Congressman Bimbo Daramola, in company of  some Skits Makers, like Woli Agba, Taooma, Yemi Eleso, Josh2funny, Hyenana, Inspector Semiu, Gorozo Ekiti  appreciated the Vice President for receiving the delegation, noting that Prof Osinbajo has a reputation of listening to young people who also find comfort around him.

Skits Makers also had opportunity ask government  to pay more attention to complimentary features that  affects the young people in their quest to survive in their chosen careers like  the issues of twitter ban and support for education across the tiers. 

They asked government to continue to extend  support to  creative talents as well as  ensure that the environment is made more conducive for contributions to the nation's growth and development.

The Vice President  responded to all the issues and was later presented with the Awards insignia and was  formally invited to the maiden NIGERIA SKITS INDUSTRY AWARDS,  the first ever slated for 12th December 2021, with Lagos being the host city.

The Nigeria Skits Industry Awards had earlier been endorsed by His Excellency Babajide Sanwoolu,  Governor of Lagos State , the host governor,  and blessed by royalty led by the Ooni of Ife, His Imperial Majesty Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, Ojaja II.

For the second time this week, Ibadan City again received the #NSIAwards2021 team, but today @woliagba_ayoajewole Mr Ayo Ajewole (Woli Agba's) office.

We were welcomed by the ace Comedian with his characteristic cheerful smile and charismatic display of love. To say he's warmly receptive and highly accommodating will be an understatement.

He attested that the Skit Industry Awards came at the nick of time, where every Skit makers need to be #Recognised, #Rewarded and #Inspired. He sent out words of advice to up and coming skit makers and charged them to be consistent and embrace failures because only through it they can become more experienced.

TRAINING ON RESCUE ACTIONS IN MULTISTORIED BUILDINGS - NGO Salute Federal Fire Service

Congratulations to the officers of Federal Fire Service, FFS under the leadership of Dr Liman Ibrahim MIFire.E who have been trained and certified on Rescue Actions in Multistoried Building at the International Rescue - Firefighters Training Center in Belarus.

This is another progression and assurance that FFS are getting prepared daily to ensure the people and properties remain safe.

Thinking about the emerging zoning and eventual choice for the position of National Publicity Secretary, it shows our party is not ready to rise from the ashes of opposition.
That position is a very strategic and capacity driven office. Someone with pedigree, visibility, rugged, articulate, with clout and accessible.

The party was virtually buried by the media exposure of the ruling party as opposition prior to 2015 elections, their publicity man by hook or crook got them that.
Fast forward to today when the party needs to put all our guns out, People’s Democratic Party want to get buried finally. You can not be rising from the death knell to a stable position which needs building upon, to now decide to use zoning to begin a downward spiral fall. Who does that?

The question is, is our party ready to take Aso Rock or not? I seriously doubt it. We must collectively jettison the micro zoning to get quality Publicity man. What is the digital footprint of the South West consensus Candidate for National Publicity Secretary?

We must call on Governor Seyi Makinde as South West leader to forget parochial sentiments and strengthen the Party as a formidable opposition which is galvanised from the desk of NPS.

SANWO-OLU ENDORSES NIGERIA SKITS INDUSTRY AWARDS

…Lagos To Host Maiden Edition

Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu has taken his commitment to the promotion of inclusive society a notch higher as he formally endorsed the Nigeria Skits Industry Awards and gave consent to the nomination of Lagos as the Host City of the first edition.

The Governor said this is in demonstration of his belief that the society will be built with everyone contributing their quota in different ways.

He stated this on Monday when the promoter of the NSIA, Hon Bimbo Daramola paid him a visit at the Lagos House, Marina where he presented the Governor with the Awards insignia.

Governor Sanwo-Olu added that the creative sector continues to be an area of interest to him therefore necessitating the many support for arts development in Lagos State, particularly because Lagos is the entertainment capital of Nigeria, with the State providing the launch pad for many successful artistes and a city of hope, where dreams are realised for the budding ones.

Declaring his love for the emerging Skits Industry, Governor Sanwo-Olu commended the organisers for thinking of giving formal recognition to the artistes who have used the medium of skits to give expression to their various talents.

The Governor said the creativity, passion and determination that they have shown has made skits a significant feature of the Nigerian entertainment landscape, agreeing that giving the skit makers the recognition they have earned is proper and thoughtful.

He urged them to continue to use their talents to promote the wellbeing and the advancement of Lagos and the country at all times, because as great influencers to millions of people they must realise that they also have responsibility to ensure that their talents and creativity is deployed responsibly at all times even as they use the vehicle of humour sometimes to deliver such messages.

MOHAMMED UMARU BAGO CONTRIBUTES FOOD ITEMS TO INTERNALLY DISPLACED PERSONS (IDPs) IN NIGER STATE – Rice, Maize, Millet and Noodles.

We have through the Federal Ministry of Agriculture, Nigerian Stored Products Research Institute (NSPRI) gotten the above food items for distribution to IDPs in Shiroro, Munya, Rafi and Bosso Local Government Area of Niger state.

The items were handed over to Niger State Government in commemoration of the Independence Day Anniversary and recieved by the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Alhaji Ahmed Matane at the State Government House, Minna for onward distribution to the IDP's according.

Today, 18th day of September 2021, another sets of farmers numbering 300 in Chanchaga Federal Constituency, Niger state were sensitized on seasonal farming and empowered with Water Pumping Machines, Knapsack Sprayers, Herbicides, Pesticides and Cash Gifts.

The party secretariat for instance must be manned by competent hand not by mere grandeur of the position displayed to squander the already recieved goodwill.

it is against this background that we have profiled therein, these eminently qualified lady and gentlemen for the secretary position.

First and foremost Hajiya Ladidi Bawa Bosso a renowned grass root mobilizer with a strong connection across the three zones of the state, has the capacity to unify the party, she is undoubtedly a lady with social reflexes, and a robust human relations that will attract more support for the party.

She is capable of bringing renaissance to the party, to the extent that everybody will have sense of belonging, with her emergence as secretary of the party , it is indeed another opportunity to make history; the first female secretary of a political party at the state's level.

Secondly Alhaji Idris Azozo is another tested politician having held the position of Party secretary, commissioner without history of failure.

Thirdly, Alhaji Mudi Mohammed the suleja born immediate past Commissioner, is another calm and hardworking personality that will bring calmness.

Without preempting our able party men and women it is necessary that our party look critically the aforementioned personalities and choose a worthy Secretary For our party, not people who make more enemies for the party.,a party secretary must understand the dynamics of political engagement not just the 'bragado' of being a party secretary.

September 4th remains one of the darkest days in the annals of history within the APC fold in Chanchaga LGA. A day billed for party faithfuls were to affirm the selection of party leaders to serve as Excos of the All Progressives Congress in Chanchaga LG. It was the same option as adopted during the Ward Congress.

Fast forward, the Chairman sent to Conduct the LG Congress overstretched his mandate by Screening and Disqualified the consensus candidate of the ALL Stakeholders with the 4 Wards of Limawa A & B, Makera and Minna Central. Out of curiosity and in a bid to play along with the Governor's in-law. Murtala Badaru hurriedly disqualified Hon Isa AbdulKadir on ground on not possessing a nomination form.

Evidently, Badaru has a poor understanding of what he was actually sent out to do by the State Chapter of the party. Murtala Badaru was to CONDUCT and not to SCREEN anyone. Funny enough, he said "by the power conferred on me I here by disqualify Isa AbdulKadir". Which power Murtala Badaru is laying claims to? Is it because he was heavily BRIBED? In fact, Badaru made a mockery of himself and by extension the Youth.

We understand the curiosity of certain brothers and by extension their family to take control of the party in a bid to pave way for the emergence of one of them as a candidate for House of Reps come 2023.

This is a poorly written script the 'Curious Brothers and their Family' are eagerly playing by spending Dollars and Electronic Gadgets to actualize. One wonders why this people refused to identify with our party members in moment and periods of need until now?

The best thing for the Governor is to the needful and allow a free and fair contest. APC is no one's family possession or property. It's a Progressives Party formed and solidified by hardworking people.

Many things are happening so rapidly and many more will occur in the build up to the Ekiti State gubernatorial shadow election of January, 2022 but one thing that's sacrosanct is the quest for continuity which remains the only panacea for sustained development in the Land of Honour.

Since the return of Democracy in 1999 till today, Ekiti state leadership have been alternated between the Progressives and Conservatives, unfortunately, same level of consistency can't be said to have occurred to the State's development in terms of infrastructure, industrialization, employment, wealth creation, education, tourism and economy as manifested in policy somersaults and abandoned projects from various past administrations

Ikogosi Warm Spring Resort Centre, Social Welfare for Elders, Peace Corps, Youth in Commercial Agriculture, Ire Brick, Computer per Student Desk, Operation Renovate All Schools and many more viable projects and initiatives of the first administration of Dr. John Kayode Fayemi (JKF) have suffered same fate in time past for lack of continuity.

The beauty of governance is to have successors who perpetuate the policies and programmes of predecessors, one that will not watch the labour of past leader and legacies go into extinction by growing the system faster and consistently building on the solid foundation of those who have gone ahead.

The best the All Progressives Congress (APC) Party can do to ensure continuity is to foster unity among the stakeholders and present to Ekiti populace a credible candidate that is devoid of malice and baggage, a unified rallying factor that will dwell on his wealth of experience in collaboration with notable indigenes of the state to continue the good works of JKF and at the same time, giving breath of fresh air into the system.

There is need to step up the factors driving Ekiti economy among which are: Youth entrepreneurship development and sustainable empowerment. Also, germane is wealth creation and industrialization which will enhance the growth of our Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) with fewer burdens on the people. We cannot continue to rely on the Federal Allocation to bring forth a spontaneous development.

The processes leading to the Ekiti 2018 APC Gubernatorial primary election, the hard lessons from the results and the aftermath speaks volume of why prospective aspirants for the primary election slated for January 2022 would rather not deploy time, energy and resources to mobilizing executives/delegates from ward to ward from now. With 33 aspirants who jostled to be candidate of APC in 2018 and a total number of 2,313 delegates accredited across the 16LGA and 177wards in the state; Dr. Kayode Fayemi scored the highest number of votes 941, Segun Oni 481, Kayode Ojo 281, Bamisile Femi 179, Wole Oluyede 121, Gbenga Aluko 86, Sesan Fatoba 45, Congressman Bimbo Daramola 28, Bamidele Faparusi 23, Victor Kolade 16, Kola Alabi 14 Babafemi Ojudu 10 (withdrew a day before the election), Micheal Opeyemi Bamidele and Dipo Ogunkoyo 8 votes each, Yaya Kolade 4, Ayo Arise, Muyiwa Olumilua, Olumilua Coker and Ajayi Olatunji has 2 votes each, Elizabeth Taiye and Ajayi Adebowale has 1vote each, Adekunle Patrick and Biodun Amudipe recorded no vote among others.

However, this time the stakeholders across boards must ensure they pull their arsenals together, narrow down the number of contestants to make the process more competitive and produce the choice for the continuity that will be acceptable to Ekiti populace. The voice of the southern agenda can only be heard if they can come together to present a consensus aspirant but at the same time, competence and the vision ahead will take the day because from the North to the Central and South, Ekiti remain as one.

The constitution of the party, APC is clear-cut. The governor is the leader of the party in the state and it is only a half-witted leader that will not care about who succeeds him. It has become a standard among outgoing governors to handpick or at the minimum, have a controlling influence on who succeeds them because of the battle for political relevance but in so doing, Dr. Kayode Fayemi wisest approach will be to close his eyes and go for the best candidate for posterity’s sake.

There are thousands, if not millions, of people in Ekiti State, Nigeria and all over the world that are loyal to Dr. Kayode Fayemi and so, loyalty is a norm that shouldn't take the place of competence in the race ahead. History is replete with examples as cases of predecessors against their successors in acrimonious relationship and bitter rivalry within the same cabinet abound. Some have gotten so bad that the visit of the former to the state has degenerated into a breakdown of law and order with fingers pointing to the later as the culprit.

Many Governors frustrate ambitions of many close associates when choosing who to succeeds them. What became of those choices are fall out with their benefactors few months after taking over. Case studies are those of Aregbesola vs Oyetola his Chief of Staff (Osun), Oshiomole vs Obaseki (Edo), Akpabio vs Udom (Akwa Ibom), Rufai vs Shinkafi vs Abdullahi Yari (Zamfara), Kwankwaso vs Ganduje his Deputy Governor (Kano), Ali-Modu Sheriff vs Kashim Shettima (Borno), Liyel Imoke and Prof Ayade in Cross River State and the list seems endless. If you look carefully around you, your best friend may turn to be your worst enemy.

The type of system that should be embraced and adopted by Ekiti leaders at all levels is to consider the continuation of programmes and projects that are acceptable, not rebellion egocentric desire that will bring disagreement and retrogression. Ekiti needs a Governor that is head and shoulder above the previous Governors in terms of intellect, capacity, skills, creativity, in terms of wealth creation and indefatigability. Let someone who has what it takes to take over from Dr. John Kayode Fayemi come forward and present their credentials and let the people decide. This, in my thoughts, could be the much-needed panacea for an exchange of baton at Oke Ayoba and a smooth transition in the body polity of Ekiti State.

Stakeholders of the Nigeria Skits Industry Awards [NSIA] have officially set aside Saturday, October 3, 2021 to honour, reward celebrate and recognize social media comedians who have pitched their tents in the production of skits on YouTube, Instagram, TikTok and other relevant platforms.

The auspicious and high profile event will hold in Lagos State, the commercial nerve centre of Nigeria.

According to the organizers, these individuals have changed Nigeria’s entertainment land scape, and through these creative audio-visual presentations have further consolidated Nigeria’s place in the Arts world and entertainment industry Africa.

The promoters of NSIA added that these Nigerians have been seen individually, watched and enjoyed in full display of their creative skills and talents, therefore it became necessary at a time like this to acknowledge, celebrate and reward them in the order of Cannes Film Festival, Grammy Awards, BET Music Awards, etc.

Impressively, these emerging crop of young comics are leveraging social media to create video content that makes people laugh and learn many quality and timeless lessons. What initially started as a mere hobby is now turning into a lucrative business opportunity and more importantly it is now being used for education, advocacy, information dissemination, advertisment, social orientation, brand management etc.

Through leaning on the very fast growing internet access across the continent, these comics are uniquely creating characters and acceptable/fascinating skits for their fast growing fanbase. They have made something out of nothing, made an industry out of sheer determination to survive well and earn livelihood legitimately, as well as representing the new face of entertainment, showing the “can do do spirit” and the “never say die” spirit of Nigerians.

CRISIS IN NIGER STATE APC AS GOVERNOR BELLO'S INLAW IMPOSES CANDIDATE IN MINNA, CHANCHAGA LGA

We received with shock and dismay an undated and unsigned purported press release circulating on social media in the name of State Chairman APC Niger State.

It is unfortunate that this is coming after a resolution by the APC state caucus and Mr Governor, His Excellency Abubakar Sani Bello on the need to have a consensus congress in Niger state and thereby not allowing anybody to purchase forms for contest except if there is no consensus and that the State Government had already purchased forms for candidates who will finally emerge victorious from the consensus arrangement.

Surprisingly, the statement made reference to one Hon. Muritala Badaru’s report that a candidate for APC Chairmanship position in Chanchaga Local Government (Alh. Isah Abdulkadir), the people’s consensus candidate was disqualified because he did not present a nomination form. This is at variance with the resolution of APC caucus and the Governor.

More so, the statement went ahead to confirm by quoting the constitution of APC (2014) that, any result submitted by the Congress Committee cannot be nullified by the State Working Committee and can only be challenged in writing to the Appeal Committee.

It is regrettable that despite our collective and unalloyed effort to make our party APC stand on the side of justice, equity and fairness, the State Chairman have now demonstrated otherwise.

However, we hereby reject the purported selection of APC chairmanship (Yusuf Mohammed) in Chanchaga Local Government in its totality.  And therefore, we shall make our position Bold and Clear on behalf of the people of APC in Chanchaga Local Government of Niger State.
