Not the end of problems but a step in the right direction. This has nothing to do with religion/ faith.
A kingdom divided against itself can not stand.
We are not one. There is no strength in imposed unity.
It doesn't take any exceptionally smart mind to see that we can't move forward as we are.
Saner countries have followed this path in order to progress.

We can stand if the power returns back to the regions or if we practice federalism. Not what wee have now. The saner countries that called off their unions did not resort to hate speeches and lies to achieve their aim. They had civilised and intelligent pple as drivers. the knew what they wanted and the followed thru.

In all this your above write up, the answer is simple"FRUSTRATION" since the civil war ended every igbo man(including south south)started looking for every single way to survive because of the harsh policies meted to them by the hausa/fulani/yoruba. our chidren will graduate from school no work because the so called past leaders of Nigeria(hausa/fulani/yoruba)never made policies to create employment rather some regions(north and south west)were favored through quota system, favouritsm et al but in the Restoration of Biafra it won't be same because most of these jobs being occupied by hausa/fulani/yoruba in the embassies, ministries, aviation etc and even the force jobs will be for biafrans and most of the oil companies operating in biafra territories will build their head office in biafra land and by so doing it will create more jobs. other investments will come up in form of technologies because our brothers outside the country will come home to invest on what they have learnt so far which will help make biafra superb.

My brother alot of good things will befall biafra if its restored because we are hardworking and we won't be encouraged any longer to leave our land(God given country Biafra) because no more victimization and oppression even though their will be little of it because we are all human but it will be controlled because we believe on merits.

Also the Nigerian government policies that hindered development in the old eastern region forced our brothers down here to move abroad to go and look for greener pastures since at home they are not carried along and these resulted to some of them engaging into crime(drugs)because some of those countries they ran to secure a well paying job are still having some employment issues based on their population not self inflicted like Nigeria,so they will satisfy their citizen first before foreigners.

ONE QUESTION for you, why didn't the igbos come out to build the Ogbunigwe for Nigeria when IBB told them to do so.......,Every igbo man knows what they want until that is restored that you will see the replica of singapore and china mixed together in Africa.

Finally for today,Imagine we are referred to as INFIDEL in the north. wallahi may thunder strike and punish Luggard in his grave million folds.

Your writeup is usually long Thats why I try to capture as much as I can.
As for the jobs you talked about, is it not same thing that you are complaining about that will be experienced. If u ask an Ikwere man if he is igbo he will tell you no. Will the ijaw man not cry that the igbo man has filled all the positions just as you are now crying. If you have ever worked in a multinational coy you will prefer to work with the Hausa man or to some extent Yoruba man than an igbo man. These guys will help their brothers but they still consider others. But the igbo man does not care if you exist if you are not igbo. You can ask non igbos in Halliburton, shell (especially logistics dept) and others. Do not expect an Eldorado with the igbo man at the helms. Exactly same thing they complain of is what is metted to others. I know of many igbos who got federal employment thru ayim when he was sgf. Your bubbles will burst of u ever think u will fly in the skies of a new country.

@Ogmaskman, check my quotes on your write up or your mention if you are honest to yourself you will see the points i dished out for you to digest and contemplate on.

but i can still summarise what i wrote in details here, you said whether i will opt out of a marriage for the mere fact youperceived oppression and my ANSWER is this:

Was there really a marriage between the so called husband and wife?
Was the so called marriage mutually agreed on?
In the so called zoo(Nigeria) marriage who plays the role of humble guy/gentleman?
In the whole zoo called Nigeria who played the role of more Nigerian?
In this zoo called nigeria who is more patriotic?

The above answers are the "Igbos" and their south southern brothers(Nigerian created cardinal point region to achieve divide and rule),Igbo man is everywhere building and taking every part of Nigeria as his home which in return they either be killed or threatened to be sent to lagoon if they ever air their political point of view on who to vote or be voted for.

What if the igbos threatened the yorubas in south east and south south that if they voted for buhari they will be sent to lagoon hope it will be welcomed.

Recently igbo peoples shops were set ablaze in kano and you will tell me that it wasn't intentional or is it the fulani killing spree especially the one that happened in Awgu Enugu and when the owners of the land retaliated the hausa/fulani command from above locked them up which they spent up to two weeks in prison.

Then, the answer to third question is who is more patriotic to the so called zoo called Nigeria its the Igbos because despite them being killed in what they forced them to be part of(nigeria)they still thrive to survive and not cause catastrophy, even when their brothers were killed during the peaceful protest of the detained leader of IPOB still they were guided within the ambits of the law not to resort to violence. but check if its in the North or South west what the outcome will be(the answer is simple"VIOLENCE"wink. honestly we are tired of the marriage that the people of the old easter region weren't even consulted at the initial stage to be part of,so their was no marriage at all but if you insist that their was then prove it with papers and also know that the so called marriage had an expiry date(Quoting from Lord lugards Amalgamation papers) which from that paper Nigeria has expired.

My brother the marriage isn't working despite everything the old eastern region have done,so now we have decided to opt out and nothing will stop this ideology like i said even 4 years old child is aware of the injustice of Biafra civil war in the old eastern region.

When marriage isn't working you can divorce mutually without fight but the grudges will still remain till eternity.
Take these points as lunch and digest till my opinion is needed again.

There u go again still playing the victim card. El zazaki, pardon my print, the leader of the Shiite group was not only shot he is still in detention. He has not be taking to court till date. I kno that the igbos have suffered a great deal due to lack of protection from our leaders but will the hate and bile preached by kanu stop, reduce or aggravate the situation. If biafra is created today will all the igbos come back to the new country to start all over again? Why fight a war you genuinely have no clue on how to win. Lemme ask you, what is the post victory strategy should biafra win this struggle.
The picture is bigger than most of us can see. Its easier to say call the marriage off, break the qoddam agreement.
The most patriotic Nigerians are those who make us proud within and without. You can not say you are patriotic when you peddle drugs and do 419 activities. How patriotic are you when you sell fake drugs to your fellow Nigerians. It is not enough to shout patriotism and do otherwise in deeds. The other day I supposedly bought four brand new tyres that turned out to be old reworked stuffs from my igbo brothers in Lagos. Will that make me discard all my igbo friends including my biz partner?
Most of you calling for the head of Nigeria are only doing so because Jonathan lost and not because we hate ourselves. This is reason enough for the non realisation of the state of biafra by the ill equipped disciples of biafran agitation.

@ Op, have we (igbo, yoruba & hausa/fulani) ever been One? Would you say we are One presently (after co-habiting for over a century)?

Am sorry to say but nigeria will never witness progress under the current arrangement. Even if we stay together for another century we will just be perambulating from one crisis to another. The foundation of this d.umb union is skewed and until we address this fundamental problem, we are just marking time.

The only thing that keeps us one is the level of hatred and distrust we harbour for each other.

The last time I checked all the igbo senators are solidly behind a Yoruba (saraki) senator. Same goes for the house of reps where all the igbo rep members threw their weights behind a certain yakubu dogara.

My dear, is it not clear to you now that this whole hatred thing is a carefully crafted bait by the political class to continually keep the pple where they want them?

The political philosophy of the igbo man is not different from other regions.

I am yet to see any significant difference realy, other than the usual fairy tale our fathers used to tell us, which some of us have taking too far.

Whoever said the igbo man will not peddle drugs like his Yoruba or Hausa brother because he now answers biafra.
Honestly, the arguments put forward for biafra is lame. At least pro biafra activists should be able to put forward measurable indicators as reasons for their wanting out. Not this we hate ourselves, we can't stay as one, they are killing us, in biafra nobody can steal our money. C'mon guys, we can do better..

No mind the fools. They think their politicians will repent once biafra is declared. clowns grin

The question I keep asking is what efforts have they putin to make sure Nigeria work befor threatening to opt out? It's like a man divorcing a woman because she has sagged breast after 10 deliveries. If you go marry a new wife she will still sag in a matter of time after many deliveries too. The right thing to do is appreciate what you have and make it look good and attractive.

These men you called local lords how did they come about?

In one of my write ups to you earlier i told you categorically that you can trace their emergence into politics through northern/yoruba political lords that imposed them us,the so-called Ikpeazu was imposed on abians through T A Orji and TA Orji was imposed on Abians by Orji Uzor kalu and orji Uzor kalu was imposed to the east by the yoruba/hausa/fulani politicians that wanted to be relevant wherever they go once PDP party(now in APC because they were aggrieved)is concern.

Then as for peter Obi he came in through court decision but tracing back i can tell you in 2003 that Anambrarians really voted for him but the powerful yoruba/hausa/fulani politicians in Abuuja(OBJ and co)imposed Chris ngige by rigging him into Anambra state house which he was later booted out by the court even OBJ tried that with Andy uba which court also booted him out just imagine the type/crop of politicians this so called abuja(yoruba/hausa/fulani)are imposing on us all through. peter obi's decision/choice for governor(willie obiano) on Anambrarians is the best so far for his people just that he is killing IPOB(i know its not his wish willingly but trying to impress his northern pay master so that his allocation wont be tampered, thats why we really need to separate from these never do well yoruba/hausa/fulani politicians in Abuja) but for good governance i remove my cap for him cos Anambra people are seriously witnessing development and growth as well.

As for david umahi of ebonyi state he was imposed by anyim pius without the consent of the former governor martin elechi.but one question i will also ask you is this, did Anyim Pius secure the ticket of his contituency people in Ebonyi to represent them in Abuja just like that, NOO is the answer its the same connection of the yoruba/hausa fulani godfatherism that exchanged hands before he got(PDP)ticket to represent his people if not, from the onset Afikpo people know the right person to represent them in Abuja not anyim pius.

Then as for GEJ, who imposed him on the so called zoo called Nigeria is it not OBJ the former president then his incompetency and inexperience during his regime should be blamed on this so called yoruba/hausa/fulani God fatherism crippling Nigeria. because i remebered vividly he wasn't the best performing governor from this our south south(ex governor donald duke was better than jonayhan who never achieved anything for bayelsa just that he is a humble man and a willing tool for the yoruba/hausa/fulani to protect their selfish interest which they used and dumped him).

Then i smell something fishy here you never replied my last quote to your moniker but you rushed to come and defend irunooboo are you sure you are not birds of same feather(my opinion though no bad belle ooo). if Irunoooboo is fit she should come and defend Nigeria not hiding people's quote and writing unreasonably.

let me stop here to comment later when needed.

My brother I replied you oo. Or maybe I thought I did. Check your mention and you ill see that u have not replied my last msg. I have been waiting for days.
I like the way you pick your points in a discuss.
Lemme start by saying that no country the world over is isolatedt from interests within and without. biafra inclusive if and when it eventually comes. What you have said still revolves around oppression and playing the victim card. I asked you a question befor and I ask again, will you opt out of a marriage for the mere fact that you perceive oppression or you try to make it work in the first place. If the later is you answer. I ask again 'what have you done to make it work'?

It is important for us to understand the reason why we agitatt in the first place. Too many uninformed here. Many nairalanders see the coming of biafra as the end to all their problems. I am sorry to tell you this, if and when it eventually comes, it will be the begining of your problems. What you experience in Nigeria will be a child's play. That is when the real cry of witch hunt and political depravity will will echo loudest. Is it not this same kanu that is telling you that winners chapel, deeper life, redeem and others are Yoruba churches that will preside over the New state. Or maybe he will be a king maker. What about cases of anambra man not qualified to work in Abia civil service even when he was born in Abia state. Should I even mention the issue of Anglican Catholic quota. You wont know what you enjoy till the day you find yourself in a small box fighting to survive. Igbos in Nigeria will be giving the treatment kanu himself asked to be giving others. This whole biafra thing will have far reaching effects especially on the igbos.
The biafra agitation as it is today has taking a dangerous dimention. Kanu's hate speeches towards other tribes, pples religion, orientation, heritage and igbo leaders who do not share or support his aggressive approach will only work against the biafran nation.
I laugh when I hear pple say ' face your state and leave biafra alone'. It is funny when Every dissenting voice is tagged Yoruba or Hausa. Truth is, apart from geographical location nothing else discribrs the igbos as a pple. Not marriage, not religion/denomination, not language, not even VOICE. I say this because thru marriage the igbos have fused with others, Yoruba and Hausa inclusive. The igbo nation today can not point at a particular religion as the only religion of the land. most of the churches (Yoruba church) in the east have their hqtrs in the west. These churches have mlions of igbos attending them, and these pple will rather follow their pastors than follow kanu. Do not forget igbo ha v Muslims too.
Playing the victim all the time is not just laughable but obsolete. The south south asked for resource control during obj's tenure and got 13% derivation (still wondering what they have achieved with it though). You do not win by playing the oppressed when indeed you can win. Jonathan whom the igbos have suddenly found a hero in, warned delegates during the ill fated conference not to discuss secession. Isn't all of these enough indications to work towards building a better Nigeria?

The greater Igbo nation has the wherewithal to stand on its own. But this is not just about what Igbos want, it is also about what the minorities want. It is strategically important for me to know who my neigbour is. So those minorities must be given their say as I demand my own say. It is not for you as Yoruba man to come to an area you have no historical connection with and talk about who should go with who. Last I heard, the Aworis,Eguns and Badagry people still regard Yorubas as 'invaders' who stole Lagos from them. You should be talking about offering these people a referendum so they too can have their own say.

Abeg make una leave this minority thing. Fight your biafra battle alone. No minority tribe will follow u pple. Did you pple confer with the minority bfor you went to war in the late 60s? Did you see them as a pple u should talk to one a pple to be subdued. History is a biatch. You can preach all you want, the minorities are better protected in Nigeria. How will the minority strive in a situation were even the igbos have no unity of purpose.

lol, what a blunt way to answer simple question but let me leave you because if you have concrete facts i think you should have come up with a comprehensive answer.

Anyway, the last time i checked for you to be a governor here in south south or south east you must be highly connected with the Northern/South Western politicians before you get the ticket to contest either in their PDP or APC party here in south south or our south eastern brothers which shows both parties have nothing to offer.

@ Irunooboo, Things are not working and will never work in this damn country because its still same old wine(PDP)re packaged in new wine(APC)so what is our problem in the late 60's, 70's and 80's is still the problem now so are you telling it will be solved in the next 4-8 years its a blatant LIE and you know that.

We need to separate and fight for our different destiny, yoruba is a great tribe to watch out that will compete strongly with the old eastern region in terms of development.

Will stop here till something calls for my opinion again.

You missed the point. Most of the govs and legislators were imposed thru fraudulent primaries by powerful local lords and not huasa fulani or Abuja politicians.

Ikpeazu is a making of ochendo, obiano is a making of GEJ and obi, ifeanyi of ebonyi was ayims candidate even Sullivan chime is not spared in the power play. If you think biafra will be free of the Nigerian political philosophy? In your words "old wine in New bottle'.

No. Do You think anyone forced or is forcing me to be a Christian? Of course not. Now let me ask you this, do you think anyone is forcing me to be a Nigerian against my will? There lies your answer.

That you do not want to be a Nigerian does not mean your brother also want to opt out. You need to hear all sides and come up with a balanced view. That's the point.

We are not the only country formed by the british. Others have moved on and prospering. The british colonized Canada, USA and Australia. Today these countries are envy of the world. The problem we have here is leadership. Our leaders are united in corruption while we frustrated commoners hates each other for no reason. Stella odua stole massively when she was a minister. Rochas and other igbo leaders are not clean. Even if you get the biafra, Will Jesus christ be your president? Will you not be ruled by these so called corrupt elites who see no wrong in one Nigeria as far as they keep feeding fat while u go to bed hungry? Ooh you expect Kanu and Uchemefor to become president and vice president of biafra consecutively? grin They will turn ibo land to paradise bah? Guy stop fooling yourself. Biafra is just a change of name. the corrupt elites remains the same scattered in all tribes

Unfortunately, they have succeeded in painting the entire igbo land as pro ipob. Majority of the igbos do not support his approach and he knows. I do not see kanu making further progress on this issue. He has been caged and that has put paid to his archaic strategy.
The question is 'where was ipob when we had Jonathan as president, ayim pius ayim as sgf, David mark and ekweremadu as Senate president and deputy respectively. There was also ihedioha as deputy speaker and ihejirika / minima as COAS .Where were they? What better time to ask for biafra than the period in question.
I pity those foolish ones who will be crushed by the military should they decide to protest.

The governors took the Federal government to court insisting our savings be shared, same can happen in this administration.

The question is What did the federal govt do with its share of the money. If states ask for their share, the federal govt still had the lion share. what did the court say about the money? Did the court order the federal govt not to save their share of the money? These are the questions.

I support the op to the extent that we do not need the NLC to start a movement. We all saw how they faired over the years. The govt call the leaders, line their pockets and the strike is over. We all saw how Labour leaders went to aso rock with cap in hand to beg for honey instead of representing their constituencies during the last fuel hike.
We do not need an NLC coordinated strike at this point. when the time is right a big protest will naturally occur. A protest that will capture the feeling and suffering of the common man. One that is driven by hunger and lack. One that will change the face of Nigeria for the better. Rightly or wrongly, some folks will support the strike hoping to have a breather, but I tell you it will turn out to be perfum over Shi.it.

Modified:
Except someone is saying here that this strike is to score political point as was the case many times in the past. The problems plaguing this country cut across tribe, religion, political bias and region.

It is incomprehensible that a senoator will take to tv, radio and tweeter at every turn when in reality, he can make a dffnce as a senator.

Yes politcians are bound to have god fathers but it depends on individual,eg Peter obi has a god father in ojukwu then but Ojukwu played an advisory role not like the scavengers we have in Nigeria that plays godfatherism for their own selfish interest if not for ojukwu's action today Anambra state would have been another free meal from what emeka offor started through his Abuja connections(Hausa/fulani/yoruba oligarchs).

Secondly,if you have listened to Nnamdi kanu vividly without sentiments he preached independence of each state in the biafra region,he wants to make biafran federal government to be weak so that the excessive money the politicians spend in campagn will dissappear and the federal government will be less attractive. he(Nnamdi kanu)stated that Aba man or Igbanke man should not rely on ijaw man oil to survive that all hands must be on desk to make sure we source out our talents for development, then by so doing nothing will be like minority and everybody will be carried along.

meanwhile nigeria is not a country you preach for fairness because to the present government they believe that without our south-south vote and south east vote that they will still clinge to power so we dont see anything like fairness coming soon but if they decide to change we will still eat whatever benefit that comes with it and still reject them(memories of Ken sar wiwa, isaac adaka boro et al are still in our mind)because they(North and south west)really dont want us near the corridors of power that's why they tagged our brother infidel and sabotaged his government anyway i blamed him for his inexperience.

Finally,Yes i am married to your sister(my lovely Edo wife)and to be honest with you initially my house is a no go area for both of us in Biafra issue but i gave her my reasons for not supporting Biafra and my neutrality during election made her to be convinced the more. but what changed my wife's opinion to biafra that made her an ardent Biafra follower was when i showed her the various youtube video of how nnamdi kanu was brought to court with handcuffs and also the youtube video of dasuki who spent money meant to be used to fight terrorism was brought to court like a king, i also played the youtube video of kabiru sokoto and the abba moro. honestly the video got her mad and she started singing biafra praise even in her place of work because biafra is for the oppresed in the Nigeria society.

But brother before i converted my wife some things played out at a point my wife was consistently giving me yam cos i hate yam so much and its more especially anytime i come home with Biafra gist(she will go to the fridge and bring out that yam she has cooked since and put in the freezer, she will steam it and give me even though she prepared a new soup that day.she doesn't care rather na yam we go chop that night)then secondly no night show for bed for that night(you know naaaa.....). also at a point she also gave me this reason that she won't support biafra because if it comes i will send her home cos of where she comes from and pick an ikwerre girl, i smiled and told her to me she is my first Biafra of physical then the restoration of Biafra is the accomplishment. the smile and hug i got that night has no bounds.

Honestly I enjoyed reading your post. But things are not as easy as they sound. For a biafra to materialize, there must first be unity of purpose. I say again, your reason for rejecting Nigeria is still based on marginalization and resource control.
To the extent that we have control (politically and otherwise) what have we done to improve the lot of our people. What makes you think that the man (our politicians) will change overnight because he now answers biafran. or will they be giving the Rowlings treatment?
Lemme give you a few examples to buttress my point. In the east today if a Catholic becomes the gov it is expected that the deputy should be of the Anglican stock. Sometime ago an anambra lady married to Abia man was made chief judge of Abia state. The pple of Abia rejected her for the silly reason she was not born abian. No recourse to qualification, entitlement, professionalism and humanity. In rivers here, it is a case of another ikwere again. Another upland man again.
I tell you all of this will still be active sign posts in the biafra you intend to build. As you must be aware by now, am not against a biafran republic but simply saying it's no use jumping from fry pan to fire. Why not fix the fry pan bfor you put it on fire to at least reduce associated damage.
It will suprise you to know that there are Christians in the north just as we have Muslims in the east. If a marriage does not work do you just bail out, or you put in effort to mend fences. As a pple, have the biafrans done enough? Have their representatives seen it fit to work towards a better tomoro? At a point the entire east was tied to the building of the second Niger bridge as if that will soak all the problems plaguing the east.
I feel very strongly that we are placing the cart befor the horse.
