Crime / How I Lost All My Savings With First Bank Of Nigeria by ojimma: 2:59pm On Dec 19, 2017

The wake of my financial agony started on 6th October, 2017 at 12.30pm when I witnessed mass withdrawal from my account. All attempt to reach FirstContact proved abortive and I quickly withdraw the remaining balance with my ATM Card.
Since then it has been a series of complain to the head office of which they promised to investigate the matter with the master card since the transaction was done in dollar. It took First Bank about 2 months to revert about N60, 000 out of N150,000.00 debited with the excuses that the remaining balance cannot be refunded because details of my card was linked to the transaction.
The following questions begged for an answer of which First Bank was shying away from responsibility:
1. Can a man authorize fraud against himself?
2. My account was subscribed to OTP services which provide me with a temporal password to authorize all online transactions initiated with my card, how come the whole security apparatus was bypassed without my knowledge.
3. Every online transaction has a reference number that can be use to trace the IP address, yet they decline to name the source of the transaction.
4. I was also dumbfounded that my complaint letter to CBN Consumer protection since 2 months has not been responded because First Bank was involved.
5. It’s obvious that there is security lacuna in First Bank internet banking but they refuse to accept responsibility as custodians of my money.
6. I beckon on well meaningful Nigerians to expose the menace in our banking system particularly First Bank LTD and also to help me to recover my money.
***Please share widely until it get to the relevant authority***** THANKS

I met this girl back in the day. Everything checked out right with her and I believed I had finally found my lost rib. It started with debt, she claimed she was owing a woman 150k and that the woman was on her neck ,so she pleaded with me to help her pay and without hesitation I wired the money to her. A week later she she posted different hair types on my wassap wall and their prices with the cheapest at 80k. when I asked her what the post meant she said she urgently needs to fix her hair and that she needs like 200k . I objected at first but she started this emotional blackmail thing by saying; Don't u want ur baby to look nice? so after much pressure I wired 180k to her to go get a new set of weavon. A week later,I noticed if I don't call her she won't call me or when she calls we may end up quarrelling. A day came she brought up this idea of starting up a small business so that she won't be asking me money all the time and when I inquired about the business she gave me a bill of 600k. I told her u don't expect me to wire 600k to u just like that. I asked her to explain what the business is all about and if I'm convinced I will give her the money. Then she came up with one story like that about gas supply and the profitability level. After much argument back and forth, I gave her the 600k. Barely a week later she came up with a story about how her ex saw her at the bus stop and collected her phone from her and that she should come to his house and collect her phone . From the direction she was going I knew she wanted me to buy a new phone for her and when I asked what phone do u need to buy she said iPhone 4. Then ipone4 was being sold at about 120k for a new one so without baiting an eye lead, I went into zenith bank and transferred 130k to her . Two weeks later, during easter we were meant to spend the easter together but somehow she just found one excuse to be away from me . when I call her, she wouldn't take my calls but send message later that she will call me which she would never do. A week after easter, she sent me text one night around 1130 pm that she lost her phone I bought like two weeks earlier. In the morning of the following day she called more than twenty times before I finally picked her calls and she was crying on phone ,apologising to me . I asked her to come see me at my office and within 30 minutes she was already troubling my secretary. When we met, I took her to shoprite where I got her a brown new iPhone 5 that was just launched in Nigeria. Well to cut the long short, after I blew over 1.5 million naira on her within a span of 3 months she told me to my face she doesn't love me . I said ok and let her go.

Jobs/Vacancies / Re: Hope For A Graduate by ojimma: 6:10pm On Jun 02, 2017
secretsuccess:
my name is joshua a chemical engineering graduate. it is so difficult to survive as a hardworking, honest and God fearing person here in Nigeria. After my NYSC i have been struggling from place to place, looking for opurtunities. i always shuttle from lagos to portharcourt...thinking that one day it will be well. i just discovered that it will never be well..

When we were in secondary school we were told to get a good course..my parents were happy when i got chemical engineering..then in school it was get a good result..that was no problem, i got a second class upper.

Ater service it was get certified..ahh, no wahala.. i got my NEBOSH certificate..then again some said it was connection..ok, i joined lots of proffesional whatsapp groups after much work, i even had to pay for some...funny enough the so called proffesional group failed woefully.

twice i was called for a job brief..twice i was rejected..the first reason was because i am igbo the woman saw my name and her countenance changed though she dashed me 2k and told me the usual words i would get back to you..ok, fair enough. The second was in portharcourt i was rejected because
of my church..Roman catholic.. hmmm. A young man was also rejected for same reason he kept on complaining while i was just laughing..though later i begged him for #100 for my TP, he gave me sha.. he is a nice man.

ok. i had to go back to the drawing board..met some people and they said i should just do further courses..oooo! course again, ok.. no wahala. i begged my mum to sell her bike for 110k so i can add 30k and do process safety and loss prevention..she accepted.. i sold the bike and did the course.. yet, no interview call. i said ok let me visit companies and give them the cv..my brother no show.

i sat still again..and then reviewed my cv..paid 2k for push CV to review the cv..still no luck.. downloaded CV review app used it time and time again. same results.. no calls.

the only thing i get everyday is insults from my Father and some relatives of how lazy and weak i am...this is not fair life itself is not fair..is it not better to die? after working hard in school and after school for about 8-10 years no result for it..

People will always say dont be tired but my brother i don tire... i know many of us have same story, but for me the only thing i can do to make the pain easy.. is write..

Nigeria is not worth it.. did i tell you i briefly went into business?.. but how can you do well in business without long time experience.. it is always difficult..well, the pressure is much and i see that breaking point is close... only God knows Tomorrow.

These days the only thing that comes to my mind is suicide..i have downloaded lots of books to see if i can find a solution.. but none yet.. please if you have good advice for me i am willing to hear it.

thanks
E Joshua

Your story is quite pathetic, as a chemical engineer, learn how to mix paints. With little capital you can start supplying paints to contractors. You need to think outside the box. God bless your hussle.

Business / Nairalander Solution To High Dollar Demand by ojimma: 11:19pm On Nov 16, 2015
It is no longer at ease with importation businesses in Nigeria due to recent CBN dollar policy. Its obvious we are import dependent nation due infrastructural decay in manufacturing industry. The present CBN dollar policy has opened another cankerworms for law enforcement agencies that took advantage of desperate situation of importers to charge as much as $1000 per $10000 to cross them to avoid cash seizure. The odds is against our economy because many importers are closing shop. The cabals in BDC are not helping out because of their interest. They even dictate on the policies.
SOLUTION: The final solution to address insatiable high dollar demand was to formulate policy that will eliminate dollar as our medium of exchange. let CBN make rules for genuine importers to lodge all the monies they need for travelling with their banks in our local currency, issue receipt of such cash lodgement that will make them to cash it with local currency of destination country. With the above solution, we can cut off the service of BDC and their cabal masters, because importers do not need to change their money to dollars again before travelling.

Porter u dey mad!!! That reminds me my first day in the toilet, unit2 room 200 . I innocently asked the cleaner to excuse me and she bursted into laughter saying "this one na jambito ooo" before I knew it all size of dick started taking their bath before this pretty young lady, and she was hurrying us to do quick so that she can finish her duty. I also remember dodging spite and fall into urine. I bath like 2 hrs at the reservoir .

Does it mean that we no longer have single ladies in Nigeria? But their prayer points on Sundays will shock devil himself especially as it concerns life partner. Normal Nigerian lady will ever claim to have somebody in a first encounter yet they wallow in grief under their pillow. Having somebody or not does not increase your personality. Its high time we shorn pride and be frank with our status.

Only the misguided fellows will ignore d handwriting on wall. For us in the maritime industry, GEj adm.was a golden era in our history where policy framework was crown with physical development. This year alone our navy built two naval ships. On- going construction of dockyard for vessels. Maritime University so that out cabotage law will be effective. Its only the stumbling blocs made up of Yoruba press that are crying foul. In as much as I don't like PDP, APC is not an option.
