Took my GRE last month, although some institution has waived the requirements, just had to take the exam to show Commitment

GRE score:
Verbal: 150
Quant: 145
AWA. - 3.0

BSc: 4.11/5

Intended Graduate Course: Computer Science

Can someone kindly recommend schools that might probably have funding for Computer Science.

I would appreciate it

With your scores, it's going to be an uphill battle to secure funding if you manage to get admission. My advice is to retake the GRE if you can. I'm applying to do a master's in Computer Science as well and I must say: CS is really competitive right now. The international competition, from China and India especially, is really fierce.

Alternatively, if you can find places that actually do not consider the GRE at all – I have heard of a few places saying explicitly not to mention the GRE anywhere in your application – you should definitely apply since your GPA is okay. To be competitive though, you should have higher GRE scores. Something like Q: 160+, V: 150+, and AWA: 3.5+ would suffice for mid-range CS schools. Do as well as you can in your quant.

Good luck bro.

Evening house. I took the GRE recently and I had 329/340: 164Q (83rd percentile), 165V (96th percentile) and 4.5/6.0 AWA (80th percentile). My TOEFL score is 110/120. For my undergrad, I studied Petroleum and Gas Engineering at The University of Lagos and my CGPA is 4.67/5.00. Amongst other schools, I am keen on applying to the MS program in Petroleum Engineering at Stanford University, but I wonder whether my Quant score is on the competitive side. I'll appreciate your thoughts in this regard. Thanks.

Hi, although your quantitative score is very good, generally speaking, it's on the low side for that programme. The average quant score for Stanford Engineering is 167. Your verbal and AWA scores are great and good respectively. However, since the quant score is the most important one for your intended course, you should definitely retake it or apply knowing that your chances at a Stanford admission are below average, based on your score, at least.

Also, I think the application deadline has passed. If you really want to go to Stanford, you can try to get as close as you can to 170 against next year and work on your research experience and other parts of your application such as your LORs and SOP. If it's not a dealbreaker for you, apply to other places.

Take with a grain of salt.

Good luck bro.
