No... I am saying that they should be queried on automatic subscription of clients into the the DND service.

Good day Nairaland family.

I am writing this with so much pain in my heart and frustration MTN has caused bulksms service due to DND implementation. I am not against the idea of DND, in fact I appreciate it. But the problem is that MTN has used this platform to cripple bulksms services in Nigeria while even the big fish in the business has been quiet on the issue.

Other networks implemented their own DND with no issues, no one was affected except those that opted in for the service. But MTN implemented this same DND and millions of their subscribers were automatically activated without consent. This has led to many people missing important information sent by organisations, churches, associations etc. they belong to. This issue of numbers not receiving bulksms started the first day (1st July 2016) this DND was implemented. When MTN customer was called, they claimed that those people activated for the DND. Now, if you call the owner of the line, they tell you they never heard of DND of know about it. So how can some many people activate for service that was launched today of which no advert was actually done about it?

The worst being that MTN charges bulksms providers for these DND automatically affected numbers and still don’t deliver the sms. I have sent them complaint via twitter, called customer care but they kept on arguing that they never activated anyone automatically. I also sent email to the NCC that initiated this idea to query MTN to review this DND implementation on their network but NCC never replied any of my emails or Facebook messages.

So I have come to this place believing that appropriate authorities might see this cheating and injustice and query MTN to review this problem so that bulksms will deliver to people it was sent to and not charge falsely blocked numbers due to MTN programmers’ incapability.

Please This is a very True Life Story and really need you all to help out in this matter.
I actually never believed that there is a True Love until this day I see my wish and dream come to reality for the friend of my friend. This story have overwhelmed me as this is the first time I have come to see it really happen…except in the movies. I am not a great story teller buy will try as much as possible to explain it well… Here is the story.
My friend’s friend of which I will address as my friend came for a very poor background…. (I mean the dad is a drunk and the mum is the only one hustling for his academics and other siblings). He is the first son and got admission into one of the Nigeria’s Tertiary institutions. The mum will have to sell some of her belongings to be able to pay some of his fees.
One day in school, the guy came across a lady (he is older than her) that she helped during clearance and from there they became “friends”. The guy, being a mama’s “Good” boy that doesn’t want to disappoint the mum kept the friendship at arm’s length but the girl really liked him. At a time, the guy has to tell the girl that he isn’t interested with the fear that someone must have sent the girl to come and tempt him. So the girl has to go through the guy’s friend to get his contact and close to him. And it worked that they became really good friends. Meanwhile the girl is very beautiful, homely, humble, respectful and very social. She is not the “WTF type” girls.
The girl is really from a wealthy family (as she ride Toyota Camry to school) and now pays the guy’s school fees, changed his apartment from “face me, I face you family house” to one of the best self-con hostel within the school locality. She takes care of this my friend so very well that she bought a bike for him, gives him 20k monthly for his upkeep, they go shopping together…etc as in… people and me envy him so much. The guy also likes her to my own best knowledge.
Now this is where there is issue… The girl is going to be given to marriage (she has been having suitors from year one) and travel to London soon for her masters because it’s their family style. She wants this my friend to come and do initial traditional rights on her head as she doesn’t love the person (the dad’s business partner’s son) the dad wants her to marry, so when she is back, they will complete the marriage. But my friend is afraid…reasons that he doesn’t have any cash that can marry someone (of which the girl told him that she will give him the money for that, that all she needs from him is let him agree and come); and the mum might say no and might complicate her help issues as she has High BP.
So now, to me it’s a dream come true but this my friend has been contemplating on this issue for long and I’ve advised him to take the bold step. That if I could see someone that could love a broke as.s nigg.a like me in this present situation, I won’t waste time to such offer considering all that she has done and proven her love for him. Not as though people don’t chaik her, but still she chose him.
Pleas I need you all to help me in this case to render advice to this my hommy; say your mind because I am exhausted with the whole stuff and need more heads in the matter.

You should have seen the devil in that person during courtship before putting your neck for slaughter. All this divorce talks sounds funny to me. It's an American way of life and it's practically adulterous because if you are a christian, after divorcing your spouse, the bible enjoins you not to marry again but in today's America its different, marriage is seen as a thing of comfort, whenever you feel uncomfortable, you get the hell out... It's not so at all. That's why you should take your time to learn and understand your spouse, if it won't work before marriage, it will be disastrous in marriage, so don't take the risk- don't even dare if not you'll be on a suicide mission.

If you have built a very strong relationship before marriage, there's every tendency that both of you are inseparable no matter what. 'I love you' isn't just enough, it takes more than that to build a strong relationship. Funny enough most marriages today are standing on a baseless foundation, e.g the guy is so crazy about the girl's beauty and he can't wait for another saturday so he wants to use the next saturday for the wedding. Can you imagine? He barely knows the girl.. On the girl's side, she just can't wait, he's too handsome and wealthy, guys like this don't come all the time so a yes to him will keep him~ without knowing him? Some even marry who they've not seen , so it's just an emotionally induced hormonal thing.

Marriage is beyond your emotions, it takes more than what you feel or think, marriage is a life of sharing, a life long committment. If you are dating or courting with a purpose, please if you don't see your spouse being that perfect better half for you, forget the relationship, drop it and God will reward you for doing so. Marriage is not by force and am tired of guys marrying for beauty- agreed, the girl should at least be fine but the question is, what if she's the cutest yet she gives you the hottest heat in life, can you proudly walk with her with a grin on your face all the time? There's nothing like having that awesome peace of mind knowing that your spouse is just the perfect person anyday anytime... It pays to marry somebody you know is your friend amy second no matter what happens. It takes more than beauty, because beauty fades, it takes more than I love you because you've heard enough to take you through life. Relationships should be built and not feasted, it's a gradual process, it doesn't become perfect in a day but at least both of you should be builders and not one person being a beneficiary while the other is over working him/herself just to prove that they can be the perfect match. Some girls also prefer the money to their peace in a home... It's good to cry in a LAND ROVER you think but the high time you woke up, the better for you. If you want to get wealth, who says a woman can't be wealthy. It's when you have chosen the path of laziness that wealth dictates to you who you should marry. So many men weren't as wealthy as they are today but because they married women who were strong enough to build with them, patient enough to stay and not run away, they were women enough to suit their man's need for help when he felt discouraged, today they are swimming in ocean of wealth with smiles on their faces and thanksgiving in their heart that they stayed and never left. It's high time you started thinking like a home builder and not a wealth eater (money chopper), wake up to reality if you want a perfect Godly home.

Also, one ingredient that spices up the whole thing is God. If your man is God-fearing, I bet that he would want to please God by making you happy, same goes for a woman that fears God. I've seen that in my parents, their romance is complete with God. They pray together morning and night, they teach each other God's word, hence they hadly offend each other and when they do, they reconnect via the fellowship they always have together. Somebody said, if your spouse doesn't care about your soul(i.e your relationship and peace with God), then he/she is not your soul mate. Funny and senseless you may say but very true...
It helps the couple to hold on to something as their reason not to fall. Please hommies, it is possible to build a home that can stand without divorce or a threat of divorce but first, build a strong relationship, let it be a fellowship- a coming together of two people who are compatible enough to please God... Divorce should come before and not after the alter has sealed your vows. It's as wrong and bad as it is- divorce has more demerits than the merit you think it can afford. For the fact that some pastors are changing women like clothes doesn't make it right at all. The truth will always prevail... Think about what you are teaching your child, it's never a way forward. Build, build, please build your relationship to be a strong and unshakable as the irreplaceable word-perfect. It's possible and it's you who can make it work. God bless you all***~with love~***
