Politics / Re: N-power Can Give Buhari About 5millon Votes In 2019. by OLADD: 11:32am On Jan 15, 2017 |
OP, life has taught me that power only comes from God and not from man. Buhari was destined to become president in 2015, not necessarily because of "packaging" from the likes of Tinubu, Fayemi, Ameachi, Obama and co., but simply because Heaven had chosen him to lead the country. So, if Buhari and his "packagers" think NPOWER and some muchroom tokenism can make him the president in 2019( if he chooses to contest), a great shocker awaits them. Idi Amin also did one or two "good" things in Uganda. 4 Likes 1 Share |

WorldRichest: I am surprised this recession has not formated your brain to see the reality. How has Fayose abused Buhari by exposing his anti people policies? For your information, Donald Trump's critics during the US elections are been approached for political appointments while your saviour (Buhari) is here declaring war on both the opposition and the masses. Leave Fayose alone. 117 Likes 8 Shares |

Hate or like him, Rev Kukah has just hit the nail on its head by saying the obvious truth. These waton killings in the name of religion and tribal grandstanding may consume Nigeria faster than the most dreaded terminal disease. A nation goes into extinction when elders keep quite in the face of nepotism and religion-induced murder. 3 Likes |

Politics / Wike Tongue-lashes IGP Panel On Rivers Rerun by OLADD: 8:57pm On Jan 11, 2017 |
Rivers state governor, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike has berated the Nigerian Police Special Joint Investigation Panel on the Rivers rerun legislative elections. The governor stated that the committee was established by the Inspector-General of Police with the aim of assisting the All Progressives Congress(APC) at the election tribunal. He made the pronouncement while receiving the committee members at the Government House, Port Harcourt earlier today, January 11.He told the committee that his government has since challenged the setting up of the panel in court, with the chairman of the panel, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Damian Okoro as one of the defendants. He also notified them that the people of the state will not participate in the activities of the panel since the matter was already in court. The governor said:"I must tell you with all honesty that my people and I will not participate in the sitting of this panel. We have challenged the setting up of this panel in court."Let there be a judicial pronouncement on this matter. It will enrich our jurisprudence. This panel has not shown us that it will not be biased."All these activities are orchestrated so that APC will use the materials therefrom at the Tribunal ."Even you as the chairman of the panel cannot say from your conscience that you are not biased."The governor berated the Police High Command cover-up of the video evidence that showed the invasion of Rivers East Senatorial District Collation by an officer, Akin Fakorede and his SARS personnel. He also wondered why the police has refused to make public how DSP Alkali was killed, simply because the person indicted was a commissioner under the minister of transportation, Rotimi Amaechi. His words:"The same Akin Fakorede who was caught on video after he invaded the Rivers East Senatorial is the one who is arranging witnesses for the panel set up by the Inspector-General of Police. "Nobody is investigating the case of Rivers APC printing fake result sheets which the police is trying to sweep under the carpet "He continued:"We believe that the Panel has already taken a decision. We are convinced that the essence of the panel is to witch-hunt our people and we have evidence to show. We cannot because of one man's interest, destroy the state."Already, you have dismissed policemen attached to me without even hearing from me. This is the same panel that claims it is investigating the conduct of all policemen during the rerun legislative elections." Earlier, Chairman of the Nigerian Police Special Joint Investigation Panel on Rivers Rerun, Mr Damian Okoro said that the panel was in the state to interface with the governor on what transpired before, during and after the rerun elections. He added that the panel will also examine the role of security personnel during the rerun legislative elections. https://www.naij.com/1082081-wike-tongue-lashes-igp-panel-rivers-rerun.html?_e_pi_=7%2CPAGE_ID10%2C7667354496 1 Like

Alariwo2: If there's anything that's pitifully useless, it's your head that fails to function optimally. Which part of the report says the freed suspects were all arrested during Jonathan's reign? Were these not the same set of people Buhari's govt used as political stunt to give the impression of been serious with arrest and prosecution of Boko haram members and Nigerians were hailing them? Did your head ever care to know why this adminstration failed to prosecute those found to be culpable in the act of terrorism in the last 18 months? Remain gullible for the rest of your life. 3 Likes 2 Shares |

Politics / President Akufo-Ado Of Ghana Caught In Plagiarism Scandal by OLADD: 7:41pm On Jan 08, 2017 |
Ghana's new president, Nana Akufo-Addo, has begun his tenure on quite an embarrassing note after being fingered in plagiarising his inaugural speech. The president who gave the speech on Saturday, January 7, 2017, appears to have picked quotes from the inaugural speeches of former US presidents Bill Clinton and George Bush in 1993 and 2001, respectively without giving intellectual credit. Akufo-Addo, 72, was sworn in alongside his Vice-President, Mahamudu Bawumia, at the Independence Square in Accra, the Ghanaian capital. The Ghanaian president first lifted a portion of Bush’s January 20, 2001 speech where he said:“I ask you to be citizens: citizens, not spectators; citizens, not subjects; responsible citizens building communities of service and a nation of character.” Similarly, he also used quotes from Clinton’s speech delivered on January, 20, 1993, where he said:“Though our challenges are fearsome, so are our strengths. Americans have ever been a restless, questing, hopeful people. And we must bring to our task today the vision and will of those who came before us. ”The similarity of the two speeches was brought to the attention of the public by an NDC activist, Stephen Kwabena Attuah on Facebook after the president’s inaugural address. Meanwhile, the Director Of Communications at the Presidency, Eugene Arhin has apologized for what he calls a complete oversight in the inaugural speech of President Akuffo-Addo. He said:"My attention has been drawn to references being made to a statement in the speech delivered by the President of the Republic, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, at his swearing in on Saturday, January 7, 2017, which was not duly acknowledged. I unreservedly apologise for the non-acknowledgement of this quote to the original author. It was a complete oversight, and never deliberate. It is insightful to note that in the same speech were quotes from J.B Danquah, Dr. K.A. Busia, Dr. Kwame Nkrumah and the Bible which were all duly attributed and acknowledged. Recall that President Muhammadu Buhari about five months ago apologised for plagiarizing President Barack Obama’s 2008 inaugural speech. Buhari had been accused of plagiarism following similarities between his speech and President Barrack Obama of United States speech. He blamed it on a media aide, saying he will be punished. https://politics.naij.com/1081414-president-akufo-addo-ghana-caught-plagiarism-scandal.html?_e_pi_=7%2CPAGE_ID10%2C3673853301 |

These are my candid suggestions to Governor Wike and the government of Rivers State: 1. Do a thorough profiling of each of the police officers involved in the dismissal. 2. Begin monthly payment of allowances to the dismissed officers equivalent to amount recently earned as salaries before their victimisation by Buhari's govt. 3. Ensure adequate legal representation and footing of litigation bills of the officers if they choose to seek redress in any courts of law all through to the Supreme Court. 4. Ensure none of the officers lack basic human needs now and as long as their travail lasts. This is the only way tyranny can be put to shame in Nigeria. 1 Like |
