Career / Should He Leave His Current Job? Help by olafunny(m): 10:53am On Nov 17, 2015
Hi nairalanders,

A brother, who is currently working with a company in ibadan and also stays in ibadan, has got himself in a condition which he needs nairalanders to be of help.

The issue is;

where he's working nw, he's been paid something above 80k sha which is obviously not the worth of the job and his kind of person cuz he has his ph.D. But because of the situation in the country, he decided to stick to the job till he gets another one.
His hustle paid off last week friday when he got another job in Lagos and the pay is above 130k with other monthly allowances. According to him, he loves his current job as it's less stressful and makes him closer to his family. He considers Lagos as a place that is very stressful and will probably cause him to relocate. But the pay is higher.

Now, he's thinking of threatening his current boss with his new job nd pay, maybe the boss might increase his salary and beg him to stay. He is staying with his younger brother in one of the houses his father built before he died. So he doesnt pay house rent with his salary. All that will change when he get to Lagos.

What he wants Nairalanders to do for him is to advice him whether;

-to go for the new job since the pay is high and try to get used to Lagos situation and since he is a ph.D holder, he might higher opportunities from there.

-to stay and continue with his current job since his expenditures are far low.

-to threaten his boss to increase his salary. What if the boss dismisses him? He might end up being in where his mind doesn't.

Thanks in advance.

Just a little bit anxious to know the view of nairalanders on the recently sworn-in ministers. If, as a nairalander, you were given the opportunity to remove a minister and appoint another, who would you remove and who would you nominate? With solid facts.

Let's talk politics

Career / Can You Quit You Job Because It Doesn't Allow You Time With Your Man? by olafunny(m): 1:32pm On Nov 12, 2015
This question is particularly directed to married couples. As a lady, can you quit your job cuz of your man whether or not he asks you to?

And for men; can you force your wife to quit her job cuz she doesn't really have enough time to be with you probably at night?

And for those of us who are yet to marry, we can state our own view and learn from the married.

It's actually not that we don't have talents as Nigerians, but the simple truth is that our talents are not well appreciated. If na oyinbo pikin do dis small tin (though e no fit fly o), an average industry go c d need 4 d boy. D only talent we embrace in Nigeria is wen a boy hides under d tire of an aeroplane from Abuja to Lagos, nt wen he tries to construct an aeroplane that flies from Abuja to Lagos.

Music/Radio / Which Is Your Best Dance Ever? by olafunny(m): 11:16am On Oct 23, 2015
It is quite obvious that 'shoki' is the 1st step an average teenager will push up when dancing to any music. Shoki is making it big and it is one of the dances that has been introduced by our musicians. After shoki, we have 'sekem' 'bolingo' and the trending 'shakiti bobo'.
I bilieve these dancing steps only stay for a while before taken over by another dance. I never believed 'yahooze' would fade away, where you point two fingers upward (one from each hand) and waving them around like a 'yellow fever'.
Now am curious to know from where did these dance steps start from and who introduced them in their order down to the latest one. If you don't know any, that means you must be an hausa man (jst kidding).
For me, i started dancing 'suo' by marvelous benji, then i think 'galala', 'alanta' 'yahooze' 'kukere' 'shoki' 'sekem by mc galaxy'. I knw i must have missed some.
So, who can list all accordingly?

...and which of these dances is your best.
