Family / Pls Help My Cousin Out by olafunny(m): 5:13pm On Dec 29, 2014
My name is ola and this is all about my cousin.
My cousin (name withheld), age 27, who graduated from unilorin in 2010 was so much lucky to secure job in a nice company in lagos. Before he became a man of his own, he was leaving on his parents and his father has been supportive. He had worked partly in many small companies to make a living before gaining admission into unilorin. The problem he had then is that whenever he collected his salary, his father would collect it and give him what to spend. At first he tought it was normal not until his father turned it into a routine task. As soon as he collected his salary his father would collect and divide. This happened for a while before he quit and gained admission.
When he fortunately secured employment in lagos in 2013 after 3years of searching, he though he had become a man of himself but his father cleared his doubt. The first salary he collected, his father asked for it in cash and he complied. He shared it and kept the rest. The only song of his father is 'you are too young to spend money without guidance, i dont want you to perish because you are not married'. Whenever this my cousin wants to do anything big, he must inform my uncle, who is his father. This has been going on from then till this moment. He is confused, he wanted to quit the job but i said he shouldn't.
Pls wise people on nairaland, what should he do? He respects his father alot, but he needs his freedom.

I love it wen ladies dance kukere, its sexy.
Music/Radio / Dance Evolution In Nigeria by olafunny(m): 11:01am On Dec 28, 2014
It is quite obvious that 'shoki' is the 1st step an average teenager will push up when dancing to any music. Shoki is making it big and it is one of the dances that has been introduced by our musicians. After shoki, we have 'sekem' 'bolingo'.
I bilieve these dancing steps onli stay for a while before taken over by another dance. I never believed 'yahooze' would fade away, where you point two fingers upward (one from each hand) and waving them around like a yellow fever.
Now am curious to know from where did these dance steps start from and who introduced them in there order down to the latest one. If you don't know any, that means you must be an hausa man (jst kidding).
For me, i started dancing 'suo' by marvelous benji, then i think 'galala', 'alanta' 'yahooze' 'kukere' 'shoki' 'sekem by mc galaxy'. I knw i must have missed some.
So, who can list all accordingly

Music/Radio / Dorobucci Again? by olafunny(m): 7:19am On Nov 13, 2014
This is the message I received this morning from a friend concerning the listeners' choice 'dorobucci'

Please check this out if it is true! Got ds now!!Av u heard abt DOROBUCCI SONG?
THEN READ DS: Is the DORO song Demonic?
Read this write up and share your
views
DORO song.
Listen to the song very
attentively and confirm it yourself.
So many people are being blinded by
the tones and sounds of music, nobody
ever bordered to know the meaning
and the
words, everybody is
busy singing and attaching doro to
even their names, but the big question
is WHAT IS DORO?
Have you taken
your time to listen to this doro song?
I have and I will tell you what doro is
by what the
singer sang in the song.
It’s a gathering of all the doro
worshipers, their she god, each of
them praising and explaining how BIG,
HIGH and BLOODY she is. Now let's
follow the song lyrics.
The first singer started by praising,
DORO~Boss, Big,
Heavy, Doro~bloody, Doro gather pass
everybody for the gathering.
Doro get money pass everybody here,
{meaning that the Doro is richer than
all of them singing}. Now for people
who say doro is
money, from these
last words, do you think they are
referring to money? I am only picking
my points from all the singers. So let's
go to the Second singer. Another
praise to their she lord, Doro fresh,
flashy, fine pass everybody wey doro
sing, {meaning that Doro is more
pretty then all the singers}.
Think!!!
The third singer started with praise
again, Doro na DIVA,{diva means a
queen, female
celebrity, god}. Doro
the leader{meaning doro is a leader as
in their leader}.
Doro is bigger, Doro
is higher so follow the leader, Doro get
liver she no dey tire,{meaning that
they are referring to she not money
not fine}.
Now the forth singer said Doro bad,
make nobody try Doro, Doro we get
money but lastly she said make nobody
join Dorobucci ooo.
The 5th now explain the personality of
their god DORO is a kind of boss, a
cheerful
giver, doro get pass everybody wey
don get before, doro fly pass
everybody wey dey this plane.
Now from all this what is doro? they
have
made their point in the song every
other words they added was to confuse
us the listeners, they now use
it as slang to everything they say
because they have sold their soul to it
and they belong to it, so that is why
you hear doro don jazzy cos all are
members, just the way Christians call
themselves, children of God,
Pick your phone please and play the
song and listen carefully because we
are at the end time.
[By the way, if you understand Igbo
language, you'll know that "dorobucci"
translates to "doro is god"]
Please fowod to all to be carefull
for music is evil & the only way out is to stay
away from it.

Is this true? What is your view?

If a picture is worth a thousand words, then these awesomely timed and hilarious photos are worth about fifty-thousand words. It either takes true talent or dumb luck to capture photos that are this perfect. Moments like these make you sit back and appreciate how entertaining life can be if you let it (or know some spectacularly clumsy people). At least one of these awesome pictures will make you laugh hard. ... it'll probably be #5.

Education / 12 Types Of Students You Will Meet In Night Classes by olafunny(m): 1:49pm On Oct 06, 2014
12 TYPES OF STUDENT U MEET IN NIGHT CLASSES
The following are the different categories of people you
will meet in night classes.
1. Customer care agents: this category of people will
keep on receiving calls from the time the came to
class till the sleep off. If you sit beside them "sorry"
and it is more among ladies.
2. The lookers: this category of people will make sure
that they look at any slightest movement around
them. If they ever see a beautiful/handsome girl/guy
then they will never cease catching a glimse at her/
him. You will even wonder if these people actually
came to study or to observe others study.
3. The late comers: this is common among girls. When
you get to class from 4-7pm, you will discover that
the class is empty. They are waiting till 9:30 when
their presence will be noticed.
4. The preachers: I am sure this set of people annoy
every reader in that class but nobody could pick the
courage to rebuke them because nobody wants to be
tagged enemy of God' word. The worst part is that
these preachers come to preach when they are tired of
reading and want to stretch themselves.
5. The itenarant readers: they are people who move in
and out of the reading room every ten minutes.
Sometimes you see them walking about the corridors.
In an extreme cases they can read in four to six
classes in a night.
6. The unarmed robbers: yes i call them unarmed
because they look very innocent when they are reading
beside you waiting for the operation time. The steal
things like phones, reading lamp, purse/wallet, laptops,
wrist-watches, textbooks etc depending on the
person's level of expertise and stealing intentions.
7. The chronic sleepers. Hmmm, this set of people will
just enter the class and lay their face on the desk and
sleep off. They will not open their book from the time
they came in till the time they left. They are always
victims of the category of people above. The bad thing
about these set of people is that the snore without
regards and they fart without conscience.
8. The ash-crammers: they are our first classers, they
will start reading from the time they came in till dawn.
Sometimes i wonder what they will be doing during the
day.
9. The eaters: they will buy biscuit, virju milk, lacasera,
gala, chewing gum, infact all the snacks in the world
just to attend night class. You will wonder if you are in
nursery class or university night class.
10. The pingers: this set of people will never let their
phones be. Some will even come with upto three
phone. Pressing their phone every now and then that
you will wonder if they are actually studying or proof-
reading.
11. The toasters: if i mention everything without
mentioning our guys and babes who come to night
class to look for partners then my list is incomplete.
This is for people who are single and searching every
night.
12. The last of it all is the couples: they will come to
class together, continue talking, chatting and touching
each other until they are tired then off they go. They
have gone to night class.
Education / Is Jamb Admission List Acceptable By The Universities? by olafunny(m): 12:58pm On Oct 06, 2014
Hello people,

I just want to know if actually the admission list released by jamb is truly reliable cuz I have come accross brother who was given admission by jamb in 2011 to BUK and when the school admission list came out, he was denied of the admission, although he went their with the printed admission letter by jamb, yet he wasn't given. A similar case happened to a brother in last year. So, is this jamb list not reliable, does it need extra prayers again??

Now this year, my sister has been offered admission. Scared though.

Career / My First Time On Stage by olafunny(m): 9:52am On Sep 13, 2014
Hi everyone,

Am olayinka. Getting into the world of comedy is quite not easy. Since I was young, I have always wanted to be a comedian and make people laugh, I never had the chance to do so (or should I say I was scared cry ). But as I proceed in the journey of life, I realise I can't do without making people around me laugh(quite easy though wink cheesy ). But now, I want to take the next step by performing on stage. This is what I actually have been waiting for, but am scared to face the audience(is this normal?). Many people with different thought are in the audience (who knows what they think about my appearance ), but the truth is, I don't want to go back, I really want to continue this journey.
I told a friend of mine and he happened to be an exco of an association in my school, so he invited me to perform at their DAY, which is today.
Pls, if you have gone through this process before or you have someone who had, advice me on this journey and tutor me on how to summon courage on stage.

The show is today by 4pm.

Thnx so much cry cry
