AskProf: How can I get in touch with you? The 3 touch down this week and I also want to know how much you want to buy them... have other offers. |

Hello everyone, I have 3 iPhone X, 64gb silver for sale brand new unlocked. if interested, send me a PM. The phones arrive naija this week. Price is 400k Because of some unfortunate posts I have seen below, please I did not ask anyone to pay me, I am an open book.... search for my name on Nairaland and I have never done any business in this section before. This is my first transaction on this section, thank you. Make sure you see the phone in a public place before you make any purchase.... I would even prefer sellers who want to resell to buy from me.. in that way I send someone to do the transaction in their office, thank you |

knwuna: I would have said why would you sell your property cos of UK masters but then I saw your other posts and then I know the real reason why you are going (I will still pretend I did not see that) Well you are going for studies (this is what I will focus on). you still have from now till September 2018.....the money from your property can cover schoo fees right? try and get money to put in your account to show for maintenance fees, please make sure it is your own personal account or maybe parents account. How do you get maintenance funds is the main issue: Talk to family and friends, You may borrow money from family or friends and put in your own account for the mandatory 28 days and then another maybe 28 days for the visa processing. ( you have about 7-8 months from now to look everywhere for the money). The main thing is for the money to be in your OWN personal account. I am naturally scared of anything called agents but I will be lying if I say I don’t know peope use them. If you must use them, let it be your last option, which is really really risky. 2 Likes |

@darkmax,wait for the AR decision, at least wait till the end of this month before knowing next decision to take. I am sure you should get the AR decision before the end of this month. Also find out if Swansea will give your money back if AR turns positive and you end up not coming again to the school. The most important, pray that God should direct you, I can only advice as a mortal being based on how far I can see and my perceptions but God knows the end from the beginning |

chupcake: What I mean by destiny runining is; I have seen people who come to UK and get stranded (they can’t pay school fees anymore) they then listen to bad advice and become illegal or let’s say that will be their only option cos they cannot afford to leave UK and go back to naija empty handed. They change adress, no bank account anymore and they start looking for white babe to get pregnant or get married to. During this process, they cannot leave the country, they will search and search, na them go club pass, they will get white woman pregnant and then hire lawyer when the babe gives birth to try and get papers for themselves (21/2 if she is British or 5 years if she is EU). In all this, the education that made them come to UK has been abandoned, no certificate and trust me, you do g want to see how frustrating or frustrated this people look..... it is a bad experience and yes it can Ruin one’s destiny. Someone I know came in as a student, till today has no certificate to his name ( he currently has 21/2 years but he regrets that Decision till date). Do you even know how many years it took him to get that 21/2 years? Well I am not in a position to say ones destiny is ruined, I think I should have used “it alters ones destiny” Bros I don’t mean marrying a white lady will ruin your destiny just like that ![]() |

@chupcake You still don’t get the point, don’t ever give such examples, let people find that out themselves else you will give false hopes. Imagine if you say it is possible to do more than 20 hours during term time and so he puts all his hopes on that and then gets to UK and he is unable to pay his school fees via that route and he ends up not getting jobs when he comes, what happens? He may be forced to become an illegal immigrant or end up marrying white woman and hence, destroying his destiny (I have seen many of such cases). I did not come from a wealthy home, I struggled to pay my fees, I mean struggled big time so I know wassup. Confession time When I first came to UK years back as a student, I did more than 20 hours (I would not even lie about it), infact I did it through agencies. Agencies gave me jobs more than 20hoirs, I kept on doing them even though my visa wrote it clearly that they were only permitted to give me 20hours. It worked for me and I got away with it does not mean it will work for you... my head is different from yours, the reason why I can never ask anyone to do such. Things have even changed now. Yes some students still do it BUT I will never advice such. If you want to do more than 20 hours as a student If you want to do this, you must be attending church regularly so that you meet people and advertise what you do. Be street smart, go out and meet people. please make sure it is cash jobs. If you are an electrician, carpenter, hair dresser, Painter, can edit or proof read dissertations, church drummer, stay at home with kids or pick kids up from school, tailor etc you will get cash from these jobs and make extra cash to support your official 20 hours but I don’t like saying this too much so that people don’t get their hopes up high thinking they can pay school fees via these jobs. Guess what, just last week, I went to take measurement for a native cloth that will be sown from Nigeria (I needed to send the measurement to naija). The girl who is a PHD student in Caledonian collected £10 just to take my measurement (lasted less than 5 minutes). At the moment in UK, don’t try working more than 20 hours via agencies or via bank payments Currently, I know some agencies that willl even write to your school to be sure you have good attendance in school before they register or give you job. For example, Brightworks in Glasgow will never give you a job as a student until they write to your school. In fact they even have a compliance officer that works with the home office to make sure the agency does not give any student more than 20hours. ASA another top agency in Glasgow at the moment don’t even Register students except you already registered with them long tine ago. They will tell you, we don’t have jobs for students and when they do, you can never exceed 20hours. This thread promotes legality and that is students should do 20 hours during term time. 2 Likes |

guiddoti: I know what you are saying, the person I responded to was talking of doing more hours during term time. |
![]() |
chupcake: To be honest, people do more than 20 hours but it is illegal and this thread preaches “legality”. For someone just entering into a new city, you must not say such so that he does not end up thinking it will also be like that for him and it is even risky. It worked out for your friends does not mean it will work that way for him. Trust me, I have lived here long enough and I know all the “runs” that is happening and still happens but you will never see me advicing such cos it is better they come to UK having the money with them than to think they will be able to do side or cash jobs and then get stranded if the jobs don’t come in. If the side jobs or cash jobs comes in along the line, then good luck, but the advice should always be, come prepared with money. |

darkmax: When is Coventry going to resume? If I get you correctly, you must have made payment to Swansea before now, have they returned your money? Why don’t you wait for the decision of the AR before making another payment To Coventry ? If the AR turns positive, what will happen to your money with Swansea? You need to know their return policy when it comes to cash paid and visa granted so your money does not hang......some schools will not give you back your money if visa has been granted or they may take some percentage out of it.... and it could even take time to return money.... these schools like collecting money but before they give you back, na war .....please find out from Swansea o.... If Coventry will resume maybe middle or late January, I will say chill to know the AR decision with regards to Swansea. Since you applied for AR weeks ago, you should get the decision before the end of this month. What I will just suggest is to have your money ready in the bank so that your 28 days would have been sorted out and then you can make the decision on which school to go for by last week of this month or 1st week in December . Even if the AR does not go in your favour (God forbid) you will just get your cas easily from Coventry cos your 28 days and money for initial deposit of school fees is available |

lolawilliams: I will use the word challenging and not harder but nothing is impossible (I believe in prayers, grace, favour etc). If you get a job from a company that sponsors international students, they will do all for you and you will stay back. There are still some people who do get jobs in UK, infact a friend just got a job and he studied in Caledonian university. I am only preparing people’s mind to the reality on ground that the chances are small. Students need to be strategic, chose the right school and course and apply very very early. Find out sectors they need people here in UK, also find out which schools in that particular sector that most companies in UK recruit from..... that is a way to go about it. Some schools have the name, so you will just be left with getting a good grade and then it will be much more easier. For example, If you want an oil and gas job in UK and you are thinking of studying in Scotland, then as a student, you have to first of all consider university of Aberdeen so as to get better chances. A graduate from uni of Aberdeen stand better chance than a graduate from UWS, Caledonian and even Strathclyde in the oil and gas sector. I hope I answered your question. For those already in UK, apply early, those coming in January, this is not to discourage you but rather plan ahead and put it in prayers before you come to UK, that God should settle your case Also please try and find the username umarwy, he gave some useful suggestions on finding work and staying back if you are studying in UK. Please read that post. Please check page 251 In other news, why can’t I log in to Nairaland via my laptop? Any other person experiencing same? 1 Like |

@nwizu042 Also you made mention of some people saying there are no jobs in UK, let me clarify this statement as I also made mention of it some posts back. If your school is promising you a job like you said ( please confirm from school website or contact them directly to be very sure), then congrats to you. Student jobs for survival There are jobs you can do weekly all around Uk that will take care of feeding and accommodation hence why they gave you 20hours to work (strictly for feeding and accommodation) Jobs after graduation There are few jobs with many international students coming into UK yearly which makes it very difficult to get. You neeed to be doing a good course ( a course that most of their students in UK are not really doing or doing well in), very good grade and also apply early (cos you only have 4-6 months after studies to leave the country). Yes people still get jobs, I mean international students but how many? If 50 out of let’s say about 1000 people that come to study in Scotland get jobs, will You say that is a good number? Ask around, there are many many people who come to UK yearly and only few, I mean very few get jobs and stay back. This is why I always advice that if your aim is to stay back in UK after studies, it is better you just try Canada cos after studies, you are guaranteed post study visa which could be 1-3 years depending on how many years your PG programme is for. Infact even after the post study, you can get PR. If your aim is to get quick masters degree, good education even with a Poor BSC result within 1 year and then go back to Nigeria, then UK is the place to be. Just of recent I was shocked to find out you can even do a masters in Strathclyde university with even a third class.... yes for real. Also, most people that come back to Nigeria after masters abroad are usually people from UK. Go on the island in lagos and shout masters from UK, you will be shocked how many people have it. How many people do you see come back after studies in Canada? USA? Germany? If your aim in permanent immigration, then UK is definitely not for you. Infact from their immigration laws, you can tell they only want you to study and look around and take pictures for the extra months on your visa and go back home. I love UK, I reside here, so peaceful etc but truth is possibility of getting jobs to stay back after your PG is very very low. 3 Likes |

@nwizu042 I live in Scotland and I have been here for years.... I will tell you nothing but the truth. I doubt someone who just starts a care work can be given £12 (night shift) for a start until at least 3 months of work experience in that same sector. Even if that is the case, you will need to pay for training .... I don’t know how much that is at the moment. I will strongly advice you sort out payment of your first year fees (look for family or friends that can support you) you don’t want to come here and be disturbed. Within the first year, you would have understood the system very well, be doing one or2 care jobs so as to boost your experience in that sector. Bro dont ever think you will come to UK and start working immediately, this can only be possible if you already have someone (like a family member that lives in that same city and will show you the way immediately). If you don’t have any support in that city, I beg you in Gods name, make sure you have funds to easily settle your first year fees without stress or the school pursuing you up and down. Remember you are paying almost £15k for This MBA and attendance for international student is compulsory. And I can say confidently that it is very difficult to even get 20hours as a student weekly, regularly for the duration of term time. Agency have lots of workers and demand for care workers can be high and low depending on if clients have jobs to offer and on your own availability. I can bet that you will not get job every week in your first year as a student (no be say I dey curse you, na reality). Also forget all those calculations you see up there, things don’t work that smooth in reality, they are just on paper. When you get here, you will realise that you will not get job almost in 2 months cos you will still wait for NI number, you will just be adjusting to a new environment, school work, register with agency, go for training, pay for PVG and even before agency start calling you for jobs etc if you are not well prepared for all this mentally and financially, you may start panicking and may even. Start getting bad advice from some people you meet in Scotland reason why I said if you have your first year fees settled, you will be at peace). In Scotland and even in the whole of UK, there is no free money, them no dey even dash tips even fellow church members hardly give money, I am telling you as e dey go. As a naija boy, you will definitely survive the second year cos by then you would have had work experience on the care job, you would have fully settled down, know more people, get more information and then during your holiday (between the first and second year) you will do 2 jobs , you can do cleaning in the morning and then care job at night (by this time you would have had experience and you should be earning £12). What I have written above, is the most feasible way out for you in your situation. Can I ask, how many months break will they give you between your first year and second year? You need to know this information , to aid your planning. 2 Likes |

darkmax: You were able to explain and you have submitted right? Then just go and pray, that’s all you can do now bro. Asking for the success rate of AR might kill your faith and spoil your mood. Nothing can be done now apart from prayers. Have faith bro. 1 Like |

@christisam, Are you really sure of what you posted? You entered UK with that method? you must be joking right. @umarwy Good information you posted but there are somethings I don’t just want to say, so that it does not look like I am discouraging people from studying in the UK. I will leave it at that for now. |

@Endyyoung, Stop troubling yourself......Since you have applied for AR, they will look at your documents and if they realise they are the ones that made a mistake, they will ask for your passport and stamp your visa. If they require further documents, they will get across to you. As for the answers you gave, stop troubling yourself. Did you speak good English, where you audible enough? Of cos a masters from UK looks good on your CV .... you should be more concerned about you submitting the right documents and filling forms correctly. But at this stage, who worry help? The deed has been done. My brother go and pray and come share testimony with us for here. Free your mind. All the best. 1 Like |

Please go for the direct entry into medicine (provided you love doing it), you will be happy you did in future. You have all the time now..... with focus and patience, you will see your dreams turn to reality in 5 years time and before you start the journey PRAY. If you were 25 and above, my advice would have been different. Once again, God be with you. |

@timmiey Let me be honest with you, that route you want to take is not a familiar route, infact it is a lonely route as no one I know that has applied for UK student visa (trust me I know many) has used that route before. Even here on Nairaland, I doubt if many people have used a legal guardian. I strongly advise you use your personal account or parents account. This is my honest opinion. |
![]() |
guiddoti: Actually according to the rule, he can use a legal guardian but to be honest, it is a very very difficult route. not trying to be all negative, I doubt if that can work in naija knowing fully well that we don’t document things so how would he prove his aunt has been his legal guardian? Well no harm in trying. |
![]() |
timmiey: Well using a legal guardian is an option provided according to rules but I have not seen anyone around me that has used it before. Yours will probably be the first if you go through with it as planned. But make sure you think about this route very well and you are very sure you can successfully pull this through. Also read what is required as proof to be shown by the legal guardian and you. All the best. |
![]() |
timmiey: Different schools have different rules ... some schools just issue CAS without asking for bank statements or properly scrutinise the documents sent by students before issuing CAS (although this is chabging now as the home office is making sure the school do detailed check on the students documents before issuing CAS). These are the options; (1) I will suggest you tell your aunty to move the money to your parents account (reason for this is that your parents having that huge amount of cash is not going to be a problem since they will assume they are working). All you will need is to submit your Birth certificate and your parents write a letter permitting you to use the funds in their account. OR (2) you can move the money to your personal account BUT If you just finished from school and you have that amount of money in your own personal account, they may start asking questions depending on the ECO that handles your case. Also transfer of a lump sum to your personal account will raise a red flag. If you decide to go with option 1 which I always strongly recommend for people who just left school, remember to submit your birth certificate and a letter MUST be written by your parents confirming that they have given you full access to the funds for your maintenance while studying in UK Also, due to fluctuating rates, try and add extra money in your account during the 28 days counting period just to be safe. |
![]() |
olalekan9320: Hello bro, if your plan is to stay in UK after studies, forget it. immigration laws makes it almost impossible and again, your course is not even among the most sought after. Except your are privileged to study in Cambridge or oxford.... just forget it. Bro, try USA, CANADA or so your masters in naija and get a job and continue with your life. How old are you? I really don’t like the idea of spending another 5 years (minus assu strike and the other strikes) in school to study medicine..... how much do they even pay doctors in naija? I will never advise anyone to student medicine in naija except it is your passion. |
![]() |
timmiey: Did you follow this page very well before starting your application process? The rule is that you can only use your own personal account or Parebts account (of which you must show both certificate to prove relationship) OR use a legal guardians account. When would your school resume? If there is still time, let your aunts move the funds to your own account and start counting another 28 days. In fact, if your school checks your bank statement and see that there is no relationship, they may not grant you your CAS. |
