Guys I'm having some issues here.

JMU Liverpool just told me they cannot extend the latest date of enrolment for me because the money in my account is just 10 days. The only bank statement i can have access to now is that of my sister and uncle, and I'm very sure they will be willing to write letters for me. I also have family pictures to prove this.

What do I do? So confused right now.

Uncles and sisters account is not acceptable. You can use that of your parents. If your school is not willing to give you an extension, why not just wait till January? We are in October already tomorrow, and you will be left with just 2 months before January.

Infact, by the end of November, you can submit your application for visa. By all means, try and beg your school to give you an extension and if they don't, wait till January.

At this stage, let me give you my own opinion. It is better to be patient till January (just 2 months away) than to risk paying almost 300k for application fees (IHS fees not included) and be denied.

Hello house, how does that embassy skype interview look like?will i be using headset?please explain because i dont want to struggle with oyinbo accent ooo

You will be given a headset and you will see the person who is asking you questions via a screen and you will be asked if you can hear them clearly befire and after the interview.

Trust me, any Nigerian student who passed through Univeristy will never struggle with the English. From reports I have gathered, the English is very clear and if there is anything you don't understand, you can ask them to say it again.

Nothing to worry about.

hello, please if your school gives you extension after their resumption date, can you still apply for visa?

It depends on how long the extension is, have you gotten your CAS already, is your money in the bank for 28 days already, have you done your TB test etc

If you have all the above and the school has given you an extension and indicated it on your CAS, you can still apply for visa.

The ECO should be able to see it on your CAS (since it is a virtual document) that you have been given an extension.

I am hoping the extension is like 2 weeks, you can still do priority.

I am talking about the printed online application form,

That means you have nit yet gone for the interview right? Just write it on the form and you will aslo be given a form on the day of your interview to fill in your CAS number and other details, endeavour to write your IHS number on it. Nothing to worry about.

I even think once you have made payment online, the IHS nunber would have been automatically linked to your application form.

So pointing out to someone that a school has problems is insensitive now!
Should we sugar coat everything? or should we give factual advice?

For example the poster may not be aware of things, if it is not good news you are saying that we should not inform them.
Facts are facts and are not always convenient or nice!

You are still not getting the point, no one is against you giving out facts but you have no right to say a certificate is worthless. You do not know his plans.

Are you saying someone who is going to do a PG in JMU Liverpool would not have done is research about the school? And the last time I checked, JMU is among the top 80 universities in UK.

Yeah agreed, he may find it difficult getting a job in Uk with a degree from that school ( even jobs now for international students is difficult to get irrespective of school) but he has better chances in Nigeria or may even migrate to USA or Australia and do internship. The certificate from that school is not and can never be worthless.

Are we even sure he wants to get a white collar job after his masters? What if he was simply going just to get knowledge and come back and do business or run his family's business?

No certificate from any UK Jniveristy is useless, it is what you make out of it that matters.

angry... hi all, I forgot to write my IHS reference number on the completed application form before submitting my application, will this be a prob?

Are you talking about the online application form or the manual form you were given to complete and to be submitted alongside your documents on the day of the interview?

Even in Nigeria good employers will look at the quality of your school when assessing your employment.

In the UK or USA, and Shengen the quality of your school is very important.
The best graduates from the top schools are always first on the list for powerful jobs.
Those from schools with poor reports or performance will be at the bottom of the pile.

At bolded, No one argues that, even a baby knows that but you have NO RIGHT to say a certificate is worthless. You are not the one paying his fees and that same "worthless" certificate according to you still beats certificates of some schools in the world.

And from your response to his post, he never asked you about his school nor its certificate but you Just decided to be insensitive as usual by talking about his school and certificate.

Learn how to chose and use your words carefully when responding online as many other people read what you write.

Hoping is not good enough!
Get off your bottom and check with them!
Without permission you stand a very good chance of being refused entry.

Also that school has a VERY poor reputation.
You could school there and end up with a worthless certificate that would not get you a job as a truck pusher!
http://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/news/300-students-caught-cheating-liverpool-9361703

Honestly, I am boiling right now. What do you always feel like? Your words are so insensitive and shows who you are. Who are you to say a schools certificate is worthless? Which school did you even go to? I see no reason why the MOD of this section should not remove your post and also give you a ban.

I think @umarwy has already answered you. No need saying much again. Nonsense.

Hello guys, this group has been insightful and I appreciate every active member for that.

I have some questions:

1. Is the TB test compulsory? If yes, can I go for it while waiting for CAS? (my CAS will come today or tomorrow)
2. Can I do the test at any tertiary hospital like National Hospital, Abuja?

I have many more questions but that will be after the receipt of my CAS.

BTW, I am going to JMU, Liverpool, anybody with me? Anybody on how I can get cheap rooms around city centre Liverpool? Yeah, cheap rooms because I purchased all the GBP I used to pay my tuition fees from Abokis around Sheraton Hotel, Abuja. 'I SAY MAKE I PITY MY PARENTS SMALL'

1) yes it is compulsory ..... There are exemptions for some group of people .... I am assuming you don't belong in that group. You can do the TB test while waiting for CAS

2) has to be the recognised body endorsed by the embassy themselves

Permit me to ask, when is your school resuming?

Finally do not pay for any accommodation until you get to UK and see the accommodation yourself.

Na waooo and school resumed on Monday but enrolment ends 10th October. Abeg hope it won't affect in anyway

No it won't affect in any way. You have until October 10th to enrol that's what it means. But I had suggest it is better you travel this weekend or get to school next week once you get your visa cos this week would likely be just for induction, collection of BRP, and some students will begin enrolment.

Next week, your lectures would likely start.

@fizzle did you pay for courier? If NO you can just stroll to their office today or tomorrow to see if your passport has been returned

All the best.

I should get the Cas this week , if I pay for priority can I do the interview same day , lastly how much extra is application in ikeja

You will select your interview date online and then you will do the interview on the date and time you have selected.

As for the money you will pay for priority, I Think it is £150.

If you are using Ikeja Applocation centre, you will pay extra fees to use that centre but for other centres, it is free.

You can also check the website of Teleprrdormance to know how much for other value added services like courier etc

Hello house , I got all the money needed into my account , on the 9th September , bearing in mind the 28 days , what is the earliest date I can make the visa application online.

Have you gotten your CAS already?

from my calculation, 28 days will be on October 6 (please re-confirm). Print the statement out on October 7 and you can chose your interview date and apply online that same day if you already have your CAS.

Please note for your statement, try and carry out one or 2 transactions within the 28 days period so that the account is active. All the best.

Bro, I believe it is not a good idea to churn out discouraging comment at the good work of others. At least, even if you want to criticize someone's write-up, you should be logical and honest with your comment

Mind you, Tosyne2much and Wristbangle are not the same

Trust me bro, I was as honest and logical as I could be in my response to ops thread. I understand the system perfectly and I know what I am saying. If you feel I was not logical, point it out and I will further clarify myself.

As for you not been the same with wristbangle, it is very strange that most of your topic, wrist bangle is always the first to comment and vice versa. Just my observation, I could be wrong.

If truly you are not the same persin as wristbangle, sorry for the mix up. I must say tosyne2much topics are always very nice and cool. Keep it up.

wrsitbangle aka tosyne2much, I think your craving for front page is making you churn out useless topics. You are one guy who I always look forward to seeing your topics but to be honest, you are losing it.

please permit me to ask, how is marriage an illegal route? getting married to a citizen is acceptable by law in many of the developed countries if not all. The motive of the individual might be bad but that does not make marriage an illegal route. Get your facts right. Who are you to judge if a young guy of say 20 gets married to a woman of 50? is it not in that same Naija an ex beauty queen of about 28 or there about is married to a man of 70+? did she do it to get citizenship? I don't support such but that does not make me judge people that do it. Love is unpredictable ask Dabota Lawson and Grand pa Sunny aku grin

Illegal jobs: What are you on about? How is been a cleaner, sewage packer an illegal job? and how does these jobs even make one a citizen? please don't embarrass yourself on a public forum by saying things you are unsure of or you know little about.

As for the remaining points, I agree with you that they are routes some people use to enter into foreign countries but not necessarily becoming CITIZENS. shalom

What's the acronym PCC? What is it for?

Police character certificate or some also call it police clearance certificate.

It is a certificate that would be needed(you will need to get it from Nigeria or you can also apply online if you are already in UK) when you are trying to apply for a security license in Uk.
