Politics / ENDSARS Report: Group Questions The Report Of The Lagos Judicial Panel by Oluwamarc(m): 1:00pm On Dec 01, 2021
ENDSARS Report: Group Raises Questions on the Report of the Lagos Judicial Panel of Inquiry

The Center for Leadership and Good Governance and Movement for Justice has raised several questions regarding the conduct and outcome of the report presented by the Lagos Judicial Panel of Inquiry, this was revealed through a press statement signed by its spokesperson, Comrade Elijah Ajanu, titled “EndSARS: Lagos Judicial Panel of Inquiry and the many half Truth”.

According to the Comrade Elijah Ajanu, “Lagos, more than any other places, witnessed wanton destruction of public and private assets in the violence that trailed the protests. The coordinated arson that trailed the EndSARS protests became a wake-up call and the governor of Lagos State, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu, without further hesitation, constituted a Judicial Panel of Inquiry into the events of October 20, 2020 and of course, reports of previous cases of Police Brutality against citizens of the state.”
It was further stated that it was in the sincerity of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu that he nominated notable persons cutting across the judiciary, civil society, media and the youth constituency as members of the panel.

They also added that “sadly, despite the commitment of the state government towards ensuring that the Judicial Panel provides justice for all and discharge its duties with all sense of sincerity, certain individuals, allowed the manipulation of the works of the panel, and its eventual recommendations, by external influence, thereby altering the integrity of the process, while producing many recommendations that are premised on half-truths, and inconsistent evidences.”

“Despite the glaring inconsistencies and falsehood, that characterized the report of the judicial panel, we cannot but appreciate the governor of Lagos, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu, for accepting the report, and proceeding to release a white paper consideration of the panel's report, with the clear intention to execute the credible recommendations of the panel.”
Some of the questions raised by the group in view of the release of the panel’s report are,

i. Why should we trust Mr Ebun-olu Adegboruwa, a member of the panel, who leaked official documents, before it got to the Table of the Governor who constituted the Panel.
ii. Is Mr Ebun-olu Adegboruwa a victim or a jurist in this matter, why crying more than the 'victims', even before the release of the White paper by the Lagos State government.
iii. Why did the panel refuse to speak or make recommendations about the destruction of Lagos aftermath of the protests?
iv. Does it mean that only few lives matter, and not all lives matter?

v. How many Judicial Panel of Inquiry enjoyed the Independence granted the Lagos panel by Governor Sanwo-Olu.

vi. Where is the Justice for the Policemen who lost their lives and the Police stations and Properties destroyed during #EndSARS?

The group also encourage the Lagos State government to focus on reform: stopping abusive police practices, ensuring justice for victims and overhauling law enforcement while also commending the Babajide Sanwo Olu led government for leading the state well as it seeks a proper channel and platform for healing and reconciliation.

The Speaker, Ondo State House of Assembly, Bamidele Oleyelogun, is currently in court as the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) arraigned him for financial impropriety.

Public Relations Officer of the correctional centre, Mr Ogundare Babatunde, when contacted on phoney corroborated the Squadron Commander, insisting that no journalists would be allowed into the court

Oleyelogun and some members and officials of the Assembly were alleged by Hon. Iroju Ogundeji, the deputy speaker of the Assembly who was controversially removed, of collecting and sharing some money for a seminar in Lagos which they never attended.

Ogundeji had written EFCC to investigate the fund allegedly collected and shared by the speaker and others for a phoney seminar in Lagos.

But operatives of the Olokuta Correctional Centre prevented journalists who were on ground to cover the court proceedings from gaining entry into the court.

A Squadron Commander, who manned the entry point, insisted that journalists could not be allowed in because there was an order from Abuja that all correctional centres should be on red alert to prevent jailbreak.

Politicising Tragedy

The sad occurrence of the collapse of a 21 storey building in Lagos was a monumental disaster. Certainly the loss of more than 20 lives up to-date is a painful human tragedy.

All attention must be focussed on what happened, why it happened and how can future occurrences be prevented all together!.
Governor Babajide Sanwoolu, as usual of him, immediately rose to the occasion. Cut short his schedule official engagement in Rome and went to the venue straight from the airport.

Even before his arrival the General Manager in charge was immediately sent on compulsory leave. Within 24hrs the governor has visited the site and the surviving victims about twice and a technical enquiry committee of capable and highly credible professionals has been put in place to unravel whatever happened and to advice government appropriately on issues including that of culpability, negligence and possible acts of criminality.
It is widely reported that the number of floors constructed was far in excess of the actual approval.

It is mischievous if not evil for anyone to distract the public and begin to manufacture unverifiable fables not supported by reason or facts. Just confabulations tainted with politics with no other intentions but to tarnish the image and reputation of people who have dedicated their lives to the service of their people and the nation.

We sympathise with those who have lost their loved ones and those whose relations are yet to be seen or rescued.
We will enjoin the governor of Lagos state and his hard working officials not to be deterred but rather to continue doing the good works this government has become known and severally commended for.

Signed

Politics / Time To Make Peace With Ipob-Doyin Okupe by Oluwamarc(m): 7:26am On Nov 02, 2021
PRESS STATEMENT

The anambra state elections is no doubt a security nightmare and a major cause for concern for many Nigerians.
Wether we like it or not, the IPOB has become an established " army of resistance " for the self determination group in the southeast.
Also we must come to accept that the BIAFRA ideology has come to stay.
Although it is self evident that the major stakeholders of these movements are predominantly youths, the adult themselves share the concerns of these fighting youths even though may prefer a different approach to achieving the same goals.
Unfortunately also, concurrent events in the nation make the counsels of the elders untenable and therefore unacceptable to the warring youths .
The police has deployed 34, 000 officers. We do not know the numbers for the military and civil defence institutions.
To the average citizens in anambra this militarization and over policing though inevitable, can never the less be comforting.
From my own projections nothing less than 50% of normally voting population, purely out of fear and apprehension, will stay in their houses and avoid voting.
If this happen the election itself becomes substantially flawed because a major ingredient of democratic suffrage, "free & fair" will be absent.
While one must of necessity concede to the federal government that it should not normally tolerate or succumb to internal threats to peace and good order, perhaps it's now time to seek the seemingly elusive peace in the southeast.
I hasyen to call on the federal government at this point of our national history to invite the leadership of IPOB to a peace meeting to listen to the complaints of the youths from the southeast and see how a true solution can be negotiated.
I say this as someone who was part of government when Boko Haram was in its wake or infancy. The presumed might of the federal government made it looked preposterous for the government to call a rag tag group to a negotiating table.
Now after more than 10years, thousands of deaths, human tragedies and millions of internal human displacements, and with billions of dollars down the drain, I am convinced that it was indeed an error not to have negotiated for peace ab initio.
Finally I will like to remind the administration that since the mid 1900s, historically no insurgency , once fully established last less than 12years on the average. Nigeria cannot afford sustain another major internal rebellion for another 10years.

Politics / Okupe, Dark Horse To Watch In PDP Presidential Race by Oluwamarc(m): 9:17am On Nov 01, 2021
The declaration of Dr. Doyin Okupe to contest the next presidential election in Nigeria is one which has continued to garner immense support from Nigerians, and Party Members of the People Democratic Party. It is one which has given Nigerians hope that they can have a candidate with value and substance, one with the needed experience and drive to lead Nigeria to a new and greater height.

While the People Democratic Party (PDP) recorded a great success with its just concluded National Convention, it's also a big win for Dr. Doyin Okupe has he was amongst one of the few Presidential Aspirants who stole the limelight.

If there was any doubt about his resolve and determination to contest the next presidential election in the country, the recently concluded National Convention helped erase any shade of doubt.

The posters and campaign materials of the two times presidential spokesperson became a common feature of the convention as his supporters came en-masse to throw their weight behind him.

His army of supporters took the venue of the convention by storm going head to head with the supporter's strength of candidates like Former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar and Former Governor of Kano State, Rabiu Kwankwaso.

Ever since the declaration of Dr. Doyin Okupe for presidency,he has continued not only to make his plans known to all Nigerians, he has also cemented himself as the only candidate of the PDP who has come out from the South to vie for the presidency come 2023.

His resolve is unshakeable, firm and determined, in his words, "There is no stopping us now, we've got the groove, in this upward beat of the PDP towards 2023, by the Grace of the Almighty God, I will play a leading role"

Evidence of this became manifest during the recently concluded National Convention when little me was the only visible Presidential Aspirant from the whole of Southern Nigeria."

It may be too early to start predicting those who will eventually contest the next Presidential election in Nigeria, however it's not far fetched to put Dr. Doyin Okupe in the ring of the strong candidates who will replace President Muhammadu Buhari as the next president of the nation come 2023.

Politics / Aremo Of Yewa Land; Àwàdà Keríkerì Might Lead To Yánpon Yánrin by Oluwamarc(m): 8:50am On Oct 27, 2021
The beggarly game played by the Lagos west senator, the person of Senator Olamilekan yayi to retain himself another seat in red chamber through ogun state after his acceded tenure in Lagos is coming to an end is nothing but a show of ludicrous and desperacy.

It all started from getting himself a self acclaimed family root from yewa which is more than comical as his charade started from From Isaga orile under Abeokuta North to ijoga orile a town that falls under yewa north before moving to pahayi in ilaro after he was being chased out of the aforementioned due to limited numbers and remote communication of all the families in the town.

The joke; shortly after he met with the paramount ruler, he was given a supposed family which was more than a comedy show and now after some alleged prizes has been paid he’s anticipating a title to which he is obviously not entitled. In order to cover the flame of these shabby flops they made a motion to give more titles to more persons across the state. That’s where the violence comes in...

The violence; The popular preposterous chant “west to west” is remarkably the most vicious expression to the indigenous people of ogun west as they considers it an abnormal practice to include the senatorial district in his aggressive jostle for power. Hence conflict of interest looms. And talking more of this anticipated title, is nothing but a invitation to inseparable fight as more groups sprung up standing against him having the title.

The painful exit of the Late Hon. Adedayo Omolafe has robbed the whole State, and the National Assembly of the services of one its best and finest political and diplomatic icon.

It's still hard to accept the painful reality of your exit, you are more like a brother to me, nobody is ever ready for moments like this because I have never thought within my wildest imagination that you would ever leave so soon in this manner.

Death has done it's worse, nonetheless we take strength in the Divine for we know that you have gone to eternal rest.

You rose to the pinnacle of your career as a diplomat and politician by hard work and dedication to duty and you in a beautiful way made life not only beautiful for you but also for everyone around you.

Your kind is rare and it's sad to see you leave this world. Dear brother your legacies will forever be with us all.

Rest on brother, my heart will always bear your touch.

Politics / Tribute To A Godfather I Never Had by Oluwamarc(m): 6:36pm On Sep 30, 2021
Hon. Isaac Adedayo Omolafe (Expensive) was to me a father figure, a dear brother, a true friend and the godfather I never had in politics.

You were my gist partner as we always discussed different issues, especially discussion that bothered on how to move our federal constituencies to a higher level.
One of our major concern was how to take care of the vulnerable people in our constituencies. We often ruminated on how to overcome the challenge of satisfying everybody in our federal constituencies.

We became very close because of your consistent fatherly advice and we related as if we were friends; this is notwithstanding the reality of being far far older then me.

We did a lot of things together before your departure. You called me on a Friday before your shocking death and we had a long phone discussion. I remember telling you that we all needed to rest since we were on recess then. Expectedly, your reply was : "Alhaji, leave me and let me take care of my people. I have missed them and this is the little time I have to attend to them".

I stand to be corrected that you lived and died for your people and I am glad that the same appreciative people came out in droves to mourn genuinely when your death was announced.

You were the very first politician in Ondo State that transited and all market shops and stalls in your constituency were closed in honour of your passage. There could not have been a better honour and I have decided to cry no more because of the reality of the love and honour already shown to you by the people you satisfactory lived your life for. This notwithstanding, I am certain that your people will still miss you sorely.

It is painful that you left without saying goodbye to me. I am still at a loss on who to discuss our plans with. I will certainly continue to miss your gentle mien, compassionate disposition and invaluable fatherly advice.

In spite of the stark reality of your death, I still cannot believe that you are no more with us. God help me, I promise to always be there for your immediate family till when we shall meet to part no more.

It is my solemn prayer that Almighty Allah shall clear your path and reserve a place for your soul in Alhajah friadaus.

Politics / Major Dee@42: The Unique Testament Of A Faithful Ally by Oluwamarc(m): 6:57am On Sep 29, 2021
Kind-hearted individuals with robust touch of charity channelled to the destitutes, undoubtedly earn downright support of the populace. Of such a stock of individuals is the Chief Executive Officer of Major Dee Motors, Adewole Ayodeji Steve, whose pseudonym is Major Dee.

Major Dee, who is a chieftain of the ruling All Progressives Congress in Ondo State, has proved his unfettered love for the needy who largely constitute the desenly populated society, despite his paltry resources with its concomitant economic downturn.

Ayodeji, a blithesome young man who never kept his associates, acquitances at arm's length will on 29th September, 2021 clock 42 years on earth.

Reminiscing on the good old days, Adewole Ayodeji was born in Akure into the family of Pastor Adewole Charles Adeyemi.

He attended ASCON Staff school Topo Badagry for his Nursery and primary education before proceeding to Badagry Grammar School, Badagry, Lagos and African Church Unity Secondary School, Epinmi Akoko in Ondo State, Nigeria.

He then studied at the prestigious University of Ado Ekiti, Ekiti State where he bagged his Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology.

Major Dee has over the years accumulated several number of years in the Nigerian workforce.

Upon completion of his compulsory National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) in 2006, Ayodeji joined the Intercontinental Bank, Ojota Branch sometime in 2007 where he
worked as a Marketer.

While at Intercontinental Bank, Ayodeji carried out several important
responsibilities including but not limited to preparing and following up on financial loan applications while monitoring the risk of Clients’ business in line with credit requirements.

He left Intercontinental Bank to join and become a pioneer staff of Triple A Microfinance Bank Limited, Utako, Abuja where he was the Team-Lead, Marketing Department. Under his leadership, Triple A Microfinance Bank Ltd experienced a huge financial turnover in yearly profit particularly
due to his involvement in the management of non-performing loans and the incorporation as well as structuring of the SMEs into all branch credit facility.

In 2015 upon incorporation of his Auto sales company, Major Dee Global Motors, Ayodeji commenced full-scale business in the transport sector, creating job opportunity for thousands of youths and helping to provide the much-needed competitive edge in the transport sector to further
improve the economy.

Earlier, Ayodeji’s interest in politics dates back to the 90s. His first official political role was as a personal assistant to Mr. Tony Ala who was the special adviser on Security to the former Governor of Ondo State, Dr. Olusegun Agagu in 2006. He was actively involved in the State political affairs particularly at the ward and local government level as a then Member of the People's Democratic Party (PDP).

Ayodeji officially became a card bearing Member of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in 2020. His selfless service attracted the nation's attention when in November 2020, the Vanguard newspaper recounted the laudable contributions of Ayodeji towards Akeredolu’s re-election success.

In the report, Ayodeji was described as “One of the very few who has etched for himself an honourable path
which sets him aside from his peers as a true progressive, a good son of the soil who has ever remained committed to his roots; one whose people can truly call “OMOLUABI” that’s a child well birthed and nurtured.

As a captain of industry, Ayodeji doubles as a member of Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Abuja. Having associated with the body in 2019, he became a member of the Junior Chambers International (JCI), and later bagged the Ondo State Young Achiever’s Award for the year 2020. The award came on the heels of his valuable contributions to the development of the State through various self-sponsored empowerment schemes.

While describing Adewole and his laudable projects, the immediate past commissioner for Works and Infrastructure in the state, Hon Saka Yusuf Ogunleye, described Ayodeji as “a friend of the masses and a staunch supporter of the present (Akeredolu) administration”.

He continued: "To Ayodeji, it is always
pleasure for him touching the lives of the less privileged in society"

Albeit, it is an incontrovertible fact that some leaders at the helms of affairs, welding powers with enormous influence and affluence have not touched the lives of the less privilege, while Adewole has been passionate from time immemorial about lifting up the proletariats grappling to eke out a living inspite of their frailties.

Exuding his unalloyed benevolence, thorough entrepreneurship training partnership, with beneficiaries of his foundation (Major Dee Foundation), are widows who get #10,000 monthly, and youths who are exposed to thorough entrepreneurship training accompanied with empowerment. Specifically, he has trained 100s of youths and widows in fashion design, soap and cosmetics making, computer and skills acquisition and giving them materials such as sewing machines, Laptops and cash to kick start a new life.

Barring the aforementioned gestures, the Foundation, during the last yuletide season, gathered no fewer than 100 people who were chiefly widows and physically challenged unexpectedly and put smiles on their faces through gifting them cash and food items. This unanticipated succour sent a signal of hope to some spines of the recipients while others bleakly lamented about the dire state of the country, adding that if other well-meaning Nigerians advocating for nation building, restructuring, had helped the poverty stricken class as Major Dee has apparently been doing, then calls by agitators, separatists would have journey down the grave, as there would be a light at the end of the tunnel.

Also, during the COVID-19 pandemic that shut down the whole country last year, Major Dee alleviated the devastating effects of the novel virus by putting smiles on the faces of those beleaguered and left with quite forlorn of hope. The palliatives he distributed during this perilous time amounted to a huge sum of over N1milllion in the name of Ondo State Governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu.

However, he explained that tagging Akeredolu's name in the scheme was just to support the good administration piloted by the Governor, since Government at all levels couldn't satisfy its citizens.

Major Dee's burning and unquenchable desires to give back to the community is staunch and unwavering. As a Philanthropist, he has committed to several humanitarian works through his foundation,

Unequivocally, his political aspiration keeps receiving unrestrained boost in Akure metropolis due to his conspicuous but unalloyed generosity, this is even as he is currently aspiring to be a lawmaker in the State.

Without a shadow of doubt, he has seen the farther than any other intending aspirants because his weight is already resting on the compassionate electorates.

Delving into his political career, his foray into politics earned him a rising profile. The rationale behind his rising profile that gave him an edge above all other politicians in Ondo State was his sincere loyalty to the APC.

He commenced by supporting Akeredolu Mandate Group (AMG) with N1 million, while he donated another N1 million as part of his own contribution to the nomination form of the Governor Akeredolu during the last gubernatorial election held in the State. This made him Staunch financier of the group in Akure South local government area and beyond.

Since he had the prognostication that Akeredolu would surely return as Governor, he dissipated his financial strength towards the victory of the Governor. He supported Arakunrin by donating two branded sienna bus to ease off campaign burden resting on the shoulder of the ruling party.

He flooded Akure, the state capital with billboards and he provided in abundance, customized souvenirs with party symbols, while other politicians also tapped from his sheer benevolence as he helped APC candidates during the 2020 local government election in Akure South council area with 5 APC Councillorship candidates in Akure South constituency-II as they enjoyed astronomical financial and logistics support from Ayodeji.

As a friend of Her Excellency and unrepentant girl child education and empowerment, Ayodeji who is blessed with three daughters, gave a financial support to popular initiative of the State First Lady "BEMORE SUMMER BOITCAMP" recently organized by Arabinrin Betty Anyanwu-Akeredolu.

His unparalleled contributions to the APC growth, community development and uplifting the less privileged through Major Dee Foundation, have all prepared and placed him head of others in the quest to have the people-oriented representatives for Akure South Constituency-two in the 2023 general election.

*MAJOR DEE* is a philanthropist, lover of less-privilege, a vibrant with an ever radiant smile, immense and humble sense of humor. *MAJOR DEE* has helped and trained widows and youths in Tailoring, Computer Training, Barbing, Mechanic, Petty Sales.

By December *MAJOR DEE* will be empowering more youths with Sowing Machines and Laptop Computers and support for the less-privilege through the NGO Scheme of St Gabriel Skill Acquisition And Empowerment Foundation.

*MAJOR DEE* promised to continue with another set of training with different skills in Fashion Design, Hairdresser, Vulcanizer, Shoemaking and more. *MAJOR DEE* is seizing all opportunities to help and improve the standard of living of people through humanitarian services.

Major Dee is a Christian whose philosophy about life is changing the political narrative and landscape of Akure politics. He has this popular saying that we come with nothing into this world and we shall leave with nothing; "The essence of living is giving."

Ayodeji Adewole is married to his Heartrob, Mrs. Olajumoke Deji Adewole and their marriage is blessed with three (3) lovely children. Ayodeji who enjoys spending time in his personal library as he believes strongly in the popularly aphorism that “readers are leaders”. He watches football during his leisure time and enjoys listening to good music.

"A year of new tomorrows that is shining, bright and clear; A year of possibilities as endless as the sky, and a chance to meet the challenges in everything you try." It is in the light of this that while wishing this patriotic Akure son, vibrant leading light, uncommon philanthropist, hope for the youths and hope of the less privileged, happy 42nd Birthday, it is our firm belief that all these good deeds of Ayodeji will be rewarded by APC faithful and he shall celebrate his 44th Birthday as a lawmaker representing Akure Constituency-II in the Ondo State House of Assembly.

Politics / Ogun West, Not For 'bandits' And 'herdsmen', Says Ojelabi. by Oluwamarc(m): 1:46pm On Sep 26, 2021
The people of Ogun West have warned that they were ready to ward off any political 'Bandit' or 'Herdsman' trying to encroach into Ogun West territory for the sake of turning it into his colony.

This was expressed in clear terms by an All Progressives Congress (APC) community leader, Mr. Deji Ojelabi at a community event in Ota on Saturday.

Ojelabi explained that Herdsmen and banditry, two popular words in our polity today, have slipped into the diction of politics. A situation where one of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu's political boys is roaming and wandering about like a nomadic Herdsman seeking for colonies to conquer in areas that do not belong to him should be resisted.

He added, we therefore call on our leader Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, a man with very impressive profile in terms of politics, a man whose name is a reference point in Nigeria and one of the most talked about Yoruba man today, to rein in his political 'herdsman' trying to cross from Lagos to Ogun State. We also hear that he has been causing problems in Ekiti State too. He is not wanted in Ogun West and no one can force him on us, this is the simple truth!.

The APC community leader noted that, We don't need a fraudster with ill gotten wealth in OGUN West. We want worthy leaders who are consistent and dependable.

Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu that we know and love will never encourage inconsistency, operation jump from state to state because of selfish ends. It is consistency and sacrifice, not inconsistency that earn Asiwaju Bola Tinubu the huge respect he commands today in Nigeria. We will advise this political 'Bandit' to emulate his political mentor rather than jumping from state to state looking for where to graze.

OGUN WEST is not a colony! May the spirit of “Amotekun” fight for us and drive away the demons. Ojelabi said.

Senator Tofowomon is a tool in the hands of God and a vessel unto honour. No wonder God used him to resolve the issues of metering challenges in Ode Aye, Igbokoda, and Okitipupa that put the three communities into darkness despite having electricity on their transformers with resultant in the total end of estimated fraudulent electricity bills in the affected areas.

Furthermore, Senator Nicholas Tofowomo has the following motions Sponsored by him:

While presenting the motion, the Senator had urged the NDDC to complete the outstanding work on the transmission substation within the shortest time possible so that the electric power supply would be available before the end of the year.

For the people of the affected areas in Ondo South, no doubt the challenge posed by the lack of electricity in the region is one which has given them sleepless nights, the endless hope and thought of how to find a way out of the mirage posed by this reality.

The power supply is an important factor that is highly needed for industrialization to occur and by implication of the motion presented by the highly thoughtful and proactive Sen. Nicholas Tofowomo, the restoration of the power supply back to the region will be a key factor in changing the economic life of the people of this region.

Kudos to Sen. Nicholas Tofowomo, he surely deserves all the accolades coming his way as he has shown his commitment and dedication to his people. He is indeed a man to be emulated by all and it is the hope of many that he will continue to do more for his people.
Politics / No Northern President Can Stop Insurgency In Nigeria – Elderstatesman, Dr. Doyin by Oluwamarc(m): 10:05am On Sep 21, 2021
Former Presidential Spokesperson, Dr. Doyin Okupe has stated that if the nation is to overcome the issue of insurgency which has miltated against its growth and development in recent years, it must ensure that it did not return elected a northern candidate as Presidency come 2023.

Dr. Doyin Okupe revealed this while responding to questions during an interview with newsmen in Abuja. When asked about his opinion about the fielding of a Northern Candidate by the People's Democratic Party (PDP) for the next presidential election in Nigeria, he stated that it would be in the best interest of all to ensure that the presidency is given to a Southerner.

According to him, " If we are really serious and we want Nigeria to move forward and want to end insurgency, banditry and kidnapping of school children in the north, you cannot use a northern president. Because if it was possible, Buhari would have done it. If it was achievable, Buhari would have done it. And we do not have any aspirant, either in PDP or APC who has a stronger character than Buhari."

In his words, "They are northerners. Give it any colouration, Fulani or not, they are northerners. So to confront them will be difficult for somebody who shares that ethnic or regional affinity with them."

He also added that, It is only a well-celebrated servant politician who understands the terrain that can resolve this issue, with the support of the northerners. That is the truth. And that is the truth we must tell ourselves.

Politics / Hold Your Leaders Accountable For The Deplorable State Of Your Roads by Oluwamarc(m): 12:38pm On Sep 07, 2021
It's indeed shocking to see the sheer amount of resources and strength that some people will exert all in the name of propaganda.

The ones you think you want to decieve with these ludicrous claims and positions have grown beyond these, the people are not pushed by emotions any more, the realities of our political climes has made them more logical than ever.

You claim that TOD is responsible for the state of roads in Ogun State, lest you forget, TOD is a serving senator, represent Ogun West Senatorial District who is in his second year.

I wonder why they will choose to drag him inside their sheer propaganda when they have other people who they could have held responsible for this.

Right there they have a former president who served for two terms, they have a serving Deputy Governor and a 3 term house of representatives member who they could have held responsible. Also is another MHR from Ota who they chose to ignore while compiling their list

Yet they chose a man who is in his second year to hold responsible for a problem which have lingered on for over a decade. This is just another height of pettiness, one totally devoid of common sense and logics.

Nothing much to worry about, the people know these things even without reminding them and when the time comes, they will surely speak for themselves

Travel / Why Green Africa Airline Must Pay 50 Million Damages Fee by Oluwamarc(m): 8:13pm On Sep 03, 2021
Green Africa Airline in Akure today 3rd of September 2021 shifted their flight schedule from 2:45pm to 5:45pm because of reasons best known to them. Many people who had importance things to do had to reschedule their engagements because of this, many even missed out because the couldn't meet up.

Getting back to the airport for the 5:45pm flight, many were surprised that they had taken off at exactly 5:10pm after they had initially announced 5:40pm. Many have missed their flight because of this huge mess created by them today and it's very appalling to see them start their operations in a distasteful manner like this.

Politics / Akeredolu Employs 1, 843 Workers, Promotes 6, 106 by Oluwamarc(m): 11:28am On Aug 25, 2021
The Ondo State Government said it has employed no fewer than 1, 843 new workers in the state public service, even as 6,106 workers have also been promoted across all ministries, departments and agencies of the government.

The State Head of Service (HoS), Pastor ‘Niran Adeyemo, made this known in Akure while briefing journalists on the activities to mark the 2021 Public Service Day celebration. He explained that the new staff were recruited in to the critical sectors including education, engineering and health.

The 2021 Public Service Day celebration which started yesterday interfaced with a cross section of officers on grade level 12 and above and later grade level 10 and below at Adegbemile Cultural Centre, would be rounded off on tomorrow with Public Lecture at the The Dome.

The theme of the two-day event is, “Deploying Technology to Sustain and Enhance Service Delivery in the face of challenging COVID-19 pandemic Climate”.

Adeyemo revealed that the recent recruitment and promotion exercises came about following the approval of the state Governor, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu.

“The government has promoted a total of 6,106 workers in the civil service. Most of the workers have received their promotion letters, while some are still collecting theirs now. We have also recruited 1,200 teachers who have undergone training.

“We have also recently employed 18 qualified engineers into the Ministry of Works to work in the ongoing infrastructural projects across the state. About 625 primary health workers have also been recruited and they had been sent to the 18 local government areas of the state . The few ones that are on temporary appointments have had their appointment regularised”, the HoS emphasised.

Speaking on the issue of percentage payment of workers’ salaries, the HoS revealed that the government pays salaries based on the amount that came to the state as allocation, assuring that the matter would soon be resolved.

Adeyemo commended Governor Akeredolu for prioritising the welfare of workers in the state, but called on the workers to show understanding, eschew any form of misconducts and give their best on their beats.
He encouraged workers to adhere strictly to their motto in their reform effort which is “to do my best for a better society”, adding that to whom much is given, much is required.

At the interactive session yesterday Adeyemo urged civil servants to improve themselves on the use of Information and Communication Technology(ICT) to be able to move on with the new trend in public service.

“I consider it also necessary to keep you abreast of some of the positive strides recorded and being recorded by this administration.
The Government is not only living true to its promises, delivering massive infrastructural transformation in road expansion and rehabilitation across the nooks and crannies of the state; embarking on agricultural revolution and rural development, empowering the people through micro-credit support; improving revenue generation, it has also made the issue of workers’ welfare a priority.

“Recall that this administration inherited seven-month unpaid salaries and allowances. Within a space of about two years, the salary backlogs are almost completely cleared, leaving only a month. To date, the promotions of all eligible officers are being effected and works are in progress for the 2022 promotion exercise,” the Head of Service emphasised.

Politics / Lagos State, A Country Within A Country by Oluwamarc(m): 12:39pm On Aug 22, 2021
By Femi Salako writes Triangle News Media

Lagos State has successfully carved a niche for itself amongst the league of States in Nigeria as an economic giant, and not just within Nigeria alone, in West Africa, Lagos State has continued to give much reasons why many can term it an emerging economy base. In many ways it has successfully lived up to it's slogan, "The Center of Excellence"

No wonder the State has become an home to many individuals from across the rest of the federation, it's no gainsaying to posit that every citizen from every other states is present in Lagos and this is not just because the State has enough land mass for everyone, far be it, Lagos State has continued to see many rate it high, becoming a home of sort for everyone because it has system which gives room for everyone to thrive and grow.

The last few years has seen the state grow tremendously, the inception of the Babajide Sanwo-Olu led administration in Lagos State has successfully given the State a new and better outlook; while businesses has continued to thrive, the state has witnessed significant Infrastructural cum industrial revolution.

More importantly, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has ensured that his led administration is setting up policies and laws to make sure that its people have the dignity of living.

Recently the Lagos State Assembly Amended the Criminal Justice Law of the State, which made significant change to the State Criminal Code, removing the old obnoxious practices and replacing them with laws which are in tune with the 21st Century Reality.

Under the new Criminal Justice of Law of Lagos State, there shall be no more parading of suspect by the police, no more arrest without warrants unless the suspect is found with a firearm, no more arrests of suspect's family members, no more torture or harassment of suspects before or after arrest and also suspect should have access to lawyers.

While in times past, citizens has been subjected to inhumane treatments over the inadequacies of its Criminal Justice Law, it's this refreshing to see that the Babajide Sanwo-Olu led administration has taken a bold initiative to correct these inadequacies, making it the first state in the federation to do such.

Kudos must be given to the Lagos State government as led by Babajide Sanwo-Olu for taking such a bold step, this is an evident that he not only mean well for the State but also that he is also committed to seeing to an holistic development of the State.

Also to help facilitate the activities of the men of the Nigerian Police in Lagos State, the Lagos State Government has launched 150 units of double cabin vehicles, 30 patrol saloon cars, 4 high-capacity troop carriers and 2 anti-riots water cannon vehicles.

When a government is committed to ushering in the much needed dividends of democracy, it will go great extent to secure this, other states of the federation must borrow a leaf from the Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu in the adminstration of their respective States for of a truth, he not only deserves our commendation, he also deserves to be emulated.

Politics / 2023: Power For The Old Or Young? by Oluwamarc(m): 8:54am On Aug 09, 2021
While 2023 is not yet here, it is important that we prepare dutifully well for it as the year 2023 will no doubt shape the future of our dear nation.

Recent political activities over the last few months in Nigeria lays a great significance to the importance of the year 2023 to the course of national development. In the wake of the various issues and challenges been faced by the nation Nigeria, the various factors militating against its progress and development which the past and present members of the political class has been unable to curb or resolve, many have agitate that there is a need for power shift in the nation.

One of these various arguments for power shift is that the present political class should make way for the younger generation to contribute their quota to national development, bringing in ideas worthy of the 21st century to solve our various national woes.

This argument has continued to grow more base, as various bodies, stakeholders and people have called that the nation come 2023 elect a young candidate for president.

Even as the race for 2023 continue to generate more activities within our socio-political setup, who can we trust to deliver, the old or the young?

Should we continue to support the old crop of politicians on the claims that they are better suited because of their experience or should we give the baton to the younger generation who will believe will be more resourcesful and proactive in handling the issues of this great nation.

This dilemma can only be answered by Nigerians who are the electorate themselves, and it is the hope of many that the system will be fair and just to allow the electoral institution give the electorate the platform to make their choice
