Remembering Killiwe Nwachukwu, the Most Powerful Superman and Greatest Stuntman in Igboland

If you grew up as a child in Igboland in the 1970's and 80's, you must definitely know or have heard about this great superhuman whose physical strength, prowess and vim still remains unparalleled till date.

Mpa m, my dad once told me about him and there was this fervent expression that suffused his mien. He spoke about him with such gusto, fervour and enthusiasm that got me thinking who this guy in question was. Even Okonkwo of Umuofia must be proud of this paranormal being if he had lived in his generation.

Killiwe born in circa 1942, and was regarded as the greatest Nigerian stuntman and daredevil whose extraordinary stamina and remarkable strength endeared him to people across the length and breadth of the country, especially in Igboland.

His real name was Nwaozuzu Nwachukwu, a native of Amaegbu, Ekwereazu, Ogwa in Mbaitolu Local Government Area of Imo State.

Killiwe was a sobriquet, a name given to him by people after his scuffle with a couple. There have been several tales and versions of how he got the nickname. However, I will recount the one told by his younger brother in a documentary about this Superman by the BBC Igbo which aired in April, 2019.

According to Mr Joseph Nwachukwu, Killiwe got his famous nickname during his sojourn as a houseboy in far away Kalabari, Rivers State. Killiwe then was living with this grumpy couple who maltreated him as a young boy.

One day, he decided to put to a stop to their inhuman treatment. He had swept the house spick and span and in the process sprinkled water indelibrately on the bed of his madam. His madam was livid about it and reported Killiwe to her husband who whipped him with cane. Killiwe was infuriated. He lifted the man and threw him to the ground which got him wincing terribly in discomfort.

The wife rushed to his aid and tugged Killiwee at the waist. Kiliwee kicked her fiercely which had her rolling on the floor in a thrash of pain. The madam had to cry out to the neighbours chanting repeatedly 'This boy wants to 'killi we,' kill us. That was how the name stuck.

When he was returning from fetching water in a truck later in the day, people that knew about the scuffle started hailing him 'Killi we!' 'Killi we!' 'Killi we!' When people then called him Killiwe, he would put up his hand in a salute.

One of his son, Mr Godson Nwachukwu also told BBC how Killiwe came about his paranormal strength which according to people was bestowed on him by the gods. According to him, Killiwee had helped an old woman with her heavy luggage down to the banks of a river. The woman blessed him saying:

'You will be renowned by all and sundry because you helped me. With this strength of yours, people will bless you. It shall bring food on your table.'

And so it was. Killiwe grew so powerful. He travelled the length and breadth of Nigeria entertaining people as a stuntman for a fee. He toured schools, market places, village squares and festivals to exhibit his muscle prowess

Mr Joseph said he can bear the weight of more than five bags of cement, sacks of cereals under him. He would gather people and engage them in a tug of war. He even lifted a 'Beetle,' Volkswagen with people inside without flinching in pain. He waxed so strong like Samson of Israel.

Unfortunately, Killiwe couldn't exploit his potentials beyond Nigeria because he lacked support and good management. He also died few years later.

Rumour has it that when he died, his body was deposited in Aladinma mortuary, Owerri. In the night, he would gather all the corpses together and stretch himself on them. 'Osheey baddest!' He did this repeatedly till his corpse was rejected by the morgue.

12 Facts About Farting You Probably Didn’t Know!

It can be really embarrassing to fart in public, however, if it happens with close friends and family members, then you can usually make a joke about it.

Still, there are situations when farts can be super annoying. However, you need to realize they are bodily functions, same as hiccups and burping

Yet, there is more about them to know than just being funny and smelly. Thus, iam here to present you with some facts about farts that you probably might not have known.

Some Facts About Farting

1. While we sleep during the night is the time when most of the farting is happening.

2. Women fart less than men.

3. Female’s farts have a higher concentration of hydrogen sulfide and this is why they stink more but they are healthier to smell.

4. Farts are made of hydrogen sulfide and this is why they are healthy for smelling.

5. Gum and soda and more of it can make one person fart more.

6. The average number of how many times a person farts per day is 14 times.

7. The lounder farts usually come from a tight sphincter.

8. Termites are the animals that produce the most farts. Then come the cows, camels, elephants, dogs (retrievers and labs), zebras and sheeps.

9. People should not be embarrassed if it happens to fart in front of other people. This means that you are a healthy individual. In fact, if you do not fart at all you should seek medical help.

10. Farts go 10 ft/s

11. The average 14 farts a day can fill up a balloon.

12. The word fart was coined in 1962 and it means a wind from the anus.

That is all about farts. As you can see there is more to farts that what you have heard. Also, it is healthy to do it, so do not shy away.
So go on and farts, farts, and farts.

Bring your biological science, parastology, zoology, entermology, physiology, embrology, immunology and plant science research difficulties, MC Omaricha smart will handle it.

6 diseases that can be transmitted through kissing

Kissing has health benefits, but it can also be a way for the transmission of viruses and bacteria that cause diseases.

Scientific reports indicate that kissing increases the levels of oxytocin, the body’s natural calming chemical and also increased endorphins, the body’s feel-good chemicals. Swapping spit is also noted to increase dopamine, which aids in feelings of romantic attachment.

But bacteria and viruses that are present in the saliva or blood of one person can also be transmitted to another through a kiss.

What diseases can be transmitted through kissing?

1-Colds

Colds are spread by direct contact with the virus. By kissing an infected person we get in direct contact with the secretions of his nose and throat.

2-Kiss disease

Also known as glandular fever or infectious mononucleosis, it is caused by the Epstein-Barr virus. The virus is transmitted through saliva and infection occurs through contact.

3-Cold sores

Also caused by a virus, it can be transmitted through direct contact with the virus. Herpes is more easily transmitted when blisters are forming.

4-Hepatitis B

Infection can occur when the infected blood and saliva of the infected person come into direct contact with the blood or mucous membranes of another person, for example if the person has open sores in or around the mouth.

5-Meningococcal disease

This is a life-threatening disease, and is due to inflammation of the membranes that surround the brain and spinal cord. The bacterium that causes this disease is spread by direct contact or droplets of saliva. It is a very rare form of transmission.

6-Dental caries

Did you know that the mouths of newborn babies lack the bacteria that cause tooth decay? Kissing babies on the lips causes these bacteria to spread to their mouths.

Even though there are some diseases that can be transmitted through kissing, remember that there is no need to give up kissing for the sake of health.

Most kisses do not cause any disease and the risk of serious illness is very small.
Some tips to avoid or reduce infections through kissing:

Avoid kissing or being kissed when one of the two people is sick.

Avoid kissing someone on the lips when there is an active mouth, warts or ulcers around the lips or in the mouth.

Maintain good oral hygiene.

Coughing and sneezing in a handkerchief.

Pilot who survived bamuda's triangle explains what really happens there.

Hi everyone you've probably heard at least once about a mysterious place called the Bermuda Triangle they say that no ship or plane can escape that sea space between the u.s. state of Florida Bermuda and pressor.

Since the 50s people have invented many crazy theories about this place from the mysterious emissions of methane to the machinations of aliens in the sunken city of Atlantis but what is real about the Bermuda Triangle and what's not let's find out.

Indeed the Bermuda Triangle is famous for the many incidents that happened here take for example the disappearance of the American Collier USS Cyclops 101 years ago the ship was about 165 metres long in 1918 it was carrying almost 11,000 tons of coal and more than 300 passengers on board and suddenly disappeared without a trace in the Bermuda Triangle, rescuers couldn't find any wreckage or bodies the suggestion that the storm hit the ship by surprise was completely unreasonable since the weather was clear on that day on the other hand given that this incident happened during the First World War the Collier could have been sunk by a German submarine.

Germany has refuted this assumption though well some people think that that's what happened however the main theory says an overload on a ship was the reason behind this tragedy okay so that sounds reasonable but if the disappearance of the USS Cyclops could be explained logically then why is the Bermuda Triangle considered such a mystical place our next story might explain why it happened.

In 1945 one sunny day five US Air Force torpedo bombers took off and headed for a regular flight exercise from an airbase in Florida at some point all five planes and 14 crew members at the so called flight 19 disappeared from the radar and a rescue plane the PBM 5 Martin Mariner with 13 specialists on board was sent to search for them and guess what happened the rescue aircraft also disappeared without a trace the bodies of the crew and the wreckages of six aircraft we never found several attempts were made to discover their location sometimes even allegedly successful but the experts concluded that the wreckage found most likely did not belong to the missing flight.

The story of flight 19 has become one of the most mysterious tragedies in world aviation and so the rumors and conspiracy theories ensued in fact ships and planes began to disappear in several centuries ago and even Christopher Columbus wrote in his journal about the strange behavior of the compass in this Syrian but the Bermuda Triangle got its legendary name only in 1964 when the American writes at Vincent Gaddis first used the sermon his journalistic investigation into the case of flight 19.

His article turned out to be so mystical that it immediately gave birth to the most incredible theories the existence of the third dimension the abduction by aliens sea monsters people came up with all sorts of weird ideas but we understand that only the ones who came back from there alive could know the truth and until recently it was believed that there were no such people.

However one pilot who survived the strange events in the Bermuda Triangle was found his name is Bruce Gernon and he revealed the long-awaited truth about this mysterious place his story happened in December 1970 Bruce says that on that day he his father and his business partner flew from the Bahamas and headed for Miami Beach in Florida as soon as they gained altitude a strange cloud of a semicircular shape appeared on the horizon perhaps the best decision would be to go around it but apparently Bruce didn't have enough time to react as a result the plane flew right into the cloud and then weird things started to happen as the pilot recalls the plane plunged into the darkness pierced by occasional sudden flashes.

One would think that the whole thing is st. Elmo's fire discharge is in the form of luminous beams that arise in the atmosphere with a high electric field often before a thunderstorm but experienced pilots and sailors know exactly how this phenomenon looks like and according to Bruce it was something completely different when he collected himself a little piece saw a tunnel in the dark and miraculously managed to fly right into it but the story doesn't end there an eyewitness says that when the plane began to get out of the trap strange lines began to form around it rotating counterclockwise despite all the mess going on around Bruce struggle to get out at the tunnel he figured it would take him about three minutes however that the plane also behaved weirdly it covered this distance in just 20 seconds it would seem that this story has a happy ending but no at the end of the tunnel Bruce and his companions did not see a blue sky but thick fog they could only see two miles ahead that it was impossible to see the ocean the horizon or a clear sky.

Passengers suddenly began to feel something similar to weightlessness all navigational instruments malfunctioned the compass needle was spinning like crazy it was complete chaos despite losing all means of navigation, Bruce somehow managed to contact the earth and request his own coordinates the ground control said that they simply didn't see Bruce's aircraft on the radar the plane appeared on the radar again only when the fog had slightly dissipates, it turned out that during this time, it covered twice as much distance as planned and was already near Florida in three minutes. the aircraft flew about a hundred and fifty kilometers that is it moved at a speed of about 3,000 kilometers per hour this is faster than how quickly fifth-generation fighters.

The e supersonic cruising speed can fly Bruce and his companions traveled all that distance in 47 minutes although they flew the same route dozens of times and have never made it faster than an hour and a half apparently the instruments readings a wrong thought.

Gernon, when he landed, the pilot decided to check his fuel supplies, a verifies theory turns out that there was much more fuel left in the tank than he expected this fact struck the already surprised pilots even more how could this happen and what was it the most critical theory of what happened is large-scale vortex. formations scientists believe that they can cause an abnormally fast movement in space and the description fits the case such vortices usually create streams of very thin air which form the unusual funnels they're dangerous to both ships and aircraft reaching a height of more than 10 kilometers go in and call this phenomenon at the Electronic fog so we kind of figured out the strange natural phenomena but how can we explain time-traveling most likely it's due to the phenomenon called the curvature of space a meteorologist Dave pears explained how it works.

He marks the point of departure and arrival at the two ends of the virtual sheets of paper we see that there's a considerable distance between them now the scientist folds the sheets in half showing the curvature of space which most likely was the reason why gird and reached his destination so quickly and the crazy behavior of the navigation instruments can be explained by the influence of charged ionized air which is caused by electrical voltage in thunderstorm conditions although there might be another explanation the Bermuda Triangle along with Japanese Devils sea a unique place where the geographical north intersects with the magnetic direction of the northern meridian this is precisely what might cause compass failure of course all of the above explains the incident to some degree but still not completely where do all of these strange vortices come from is it some kind of cyclone giant waves are a completely independent natural phenomenon here we have to introduce another scientific concept so-called dark energy perhaps on that day Kernan's plane encountered this energy which made it go through an incredible experience.

Dark energy is a hypothetical concept introduced by researchers to explain the expansion of the universe in its acceleration many scientists are certain that it exists but still don't quite understand its true nature solving the equation for dark energy is one of the key tasks in modern cosmology why were the remains of ships and planes that crashed here never found though it's known that they permeate a triangle it's one of the deepest underwater trenches in the world most of it extends almost 6,000 meters below and in some places the depth reaches 8,000 meters by the way not only air vortices but also powerful under currents and coral reefs threaten ships here add to this huge waves which sometimes form here under the influence of the Gulf Stream you must admit that this whole story gives a loss of room for fiction exaggeration and myths.

Scientists have many different theories about the nature of the Bermuda Triangle for one thing is certain the disappearance of ships and aircraft in this region is in no way connected with intergalactic monsters and underwater creatures, in fact the notorious Bermuda Triangle is one of the busiest crossroads in the world hundreds of transport routes go through it daily and the number of incidents is almost negligible.

scientists say that being surprised by disasters that happen in this place is like being surprised by the number of car accidents that happen on the busiest Avenue in a huge city so if you ask us whether the Bermuda Triangle is a special place we of course say yes it's the spot where several natural phenomena, converge and under certain conditions this can slightly increase the probability of an incident does this mean every ship or plane crossing this region is doomed of course not knots even every tenth or every hundred as life goes people are prone to mysticism and exaggerating which leads to creation of new absurd stories perhaps that's just a part of our nature so it's not worrying about scary made-up stories in most cases science debunks this story sends the mysticism behind them.

Black History Month: The Story Of Igbo Slaves Who Committed Mass Suicide Off The US Coast In 1803

In celebrating the history of black people, the it is important that we recount some of the most popular folklore in African American culture and combine them with facts so that they are worth being told.

Take that of ‘The Igbo Landing’ also called the Ibo Landing, Ebo Landing, or Ebos Landing.
The Igbo Landing is a historic site at Dunbar Creek on St. Simons Island, Glynn County, Georgia. It is the site of one of the largest mass suicides of enslaved people in history. Historians say Igbo captives from modern-day Nigeria, purchased for an average of $100 each by slave merchants John Couper and Thomas Spalding, arrived in Savannah, Georgia, on the slave ship the Wanderer in 1803.
Igbo Landing site

The chained slaves were then reloaded and packed under the deck of a coastal vessel, the York , which would take them to St. Simons where they were to be resold. During the voyage, approximately 75 Igbo slaves rose in rebellion. They drowned their captors and caused the grounding of the ship in Dunbar Creek. The Igbo were known by planters and slave owners of the American South to be fiercely independent and more resistant to chattel slavery.

According to Professor Terri L. Snyder, “the enslaved cargo “suffered much by mismanagement,” “rose” from their confinement in the small vessel, and revolted against the crew, forcing them into the water where they drowned”. Led by their chief, the Africans then marched ashore, singing. At their chief’s direction, they walked into the marshy waters of Dunbar Creek, committing mass suicide.

Roswell King, a white overseer on a nearby plantation called Pierce Butler plantation, is the first to have recorded the incident. He and another man identified only as Captain Patterson recovered thirteen bodies. The others remained missing, and some are believed to have survived the suicide episode.
For centuries, some historians have cast doubt on the event, suggesting that the entire incident was more folklore than fact. But a post-1980 research verified the accounts Roswell King and others provided at the time using “modern scientific techniques to reconstruct the episode and confirm the factual basis of the longstanding oral accounts.

The site was designated as a holy ground by the St. Simons African American community in September 2012. The Igbo Landing is also now a part of the curriculum for coastal Georgia schools.

The Igbo Landing has come to occupy great symbolic importance in local African American folklore. The mutiny and subsequent suicide by the Igbo people have been called the first freedom march in the history of the United States and local people claim that the Landing and surrounding marshes in Dunbar Creek were haunted by the souls of the dead Igbo slaves.

There are myths of “the water walking Africans”: “Heard about the Ibo’s Landing? That’s the place where they bring the Ibos over in a slave ship and when they get here, they ain’t like it and so they all start singing and they march right down in the river to march back to Africa, but they ain’t able to get there. They gets drown, one Floyd White, an elderly African-American interviewed by the Federal Writers Project in the 1930s, said. There is also the myth of the Flying Africans” where people report that the Igbos flew to Africa. Wallace Quarterman, an African-American born in 1844 who was interviewed in 1930 about the Igbo Landing said, Ain’t you heard about them? Well, at that time Mr. Blue he was the overseer, Mr Blue go down one morning with a long whip to whip them good. . . . Anyway, he whipped them good and they got together and stuck that hoe in the field and then . . . rose up in the sky and turned themselves into buzzards and flew right back to Africa. . . . Everybody knows about them.

So powerful is this story of resistance that it is often referred to in African American literature. Writer Alex Haley recounts it in his high acclaimed book, Roots, and it was the basis for Nobel laureate, Toni Morrison’s, novel, Song of Solomon. Visual artists have also paid tribute to the Igbos who endured this event. Below is Jamaican artist, Donovan Nelson’s illustrations paying tribute to the event. They are on display at the Valentine Museum of Art.

Contemporary artists like Beyonce have also depicted and paid homage to the Igbo Landing in their work. In the recent wildly acclaimed Marvel comic film, Black Panther, Killmonger, played by actor Michael B Jordan, refers to this event, saying, “Bury me in the ocean with my ancestors who jumped from ships, ’cause they knew death was better than bondage.

6 Signs That Your House Is Under Demonic Attack

1. Strange Noises

The sound of a demon is said to be guttural, a harsh growling unlike anything an ordinary animal would produce. This may occur in specific spots, such as closets or hallways. You may even hear strained words or disembodied voices over your shoulder, asking you questions, or threatening you in some way.
Other sounds may occur, as well, including banging, stomping, or scratching on walls. In some cases, people have reported hearing three unexplained knocks in a row — a number that is often repeated by demons as a mockery of the Holy Trinity.

2. Scared Pets & Animals

Many believe animals can see ghosts, your pets included. When a dog starts barking at empty air, he or she may have witnessed a passing spirit. But you also have those cases when the animal is afraid – terrified, even – growling at an unseen force hidden from human eyes.

Your pet may begin acting aggressively for no apparent reason, and there are even some cases in which a pet has reportedly fallen ill during a demonic attack.

In his book True tales of Ouija board Stephen Wagner relates one such incident, during which a group of girls were “playing” with a Ouija board. All was well, until they contacted a spirit that unexpectedly mentioned their dogs. When they asked the spirit what it meant, it simply replied, “You’ll see.”

Not long after, the girls heard their dogs screaming outside. They later found a mysterious burn mark on one of them.

3. Mysterious Shadows

Sightings of so-called shadow people may be an indication that a demon is present. In some cases, the shadows take humanoid forms, but they’ve also appeared as animals, or even simple amorphous blobs that don’t resemble anything at all. You may encounter brief glimpses just outside your vision, or they may appear as full shadows.

The Demon in the Chair

One case of a potential demon involving a shadow person sighting was reported by a Reddit user in March of 2017 (unfortunately, the original post is no longer available).
While spending the night at her grandparents’ house during a sleepover when she was very young, the witness was shocked awake, only to glimpse a dark silhouette in a chair on the other side of the room. It was awkwardly positioned, sideways, with its arms holding its legs up to its chest.

Having learned about Christianity from her parents, at first she thought it could be Jesus, or some other positive entity. But just as she thought that name, the shadowy figure lurched up out of the chair – faster than anything humanly could – and approached her. The figure watched her, and then began doing something very odd, indeed: It started scratching at its own calves, tearing at its own flesh. If it even had any.

The witness tried to calm down, and eventually fell back to sleep, if it could be called sleep . According to her account, it was as though time had warped in some way. She woke up the next morning, but not before she felt a strange breath upon her ear.

This encounter with a shadow person upon waking may be related to our next potential sign.

4. Demonic Nightmares

Dreams are interesting things. They can tell us a lot about who we are, and what our subconscious minds are really thinking. They can also, perhaps, act as windows into a world just beyond our own.

But that’s not always a world we want to enter.
Many have reported having strange and terrible dreams that accompany the unexplained activity in their homes during a haunting, particularly those involving demons. In 2016, for example, another Reddit user posted his experience with what he believed was such a demon. It was in early October, and he’d just gone to sleep after a very tiring day.

That’s when he had what he described as “the worst dream [he] would ever experience in [his] life.” It involved something indiscernible but horrifying. It hovered over his bed, glaring down at him with a “disgusted look,” whispering something he couldn’t quite make out.

The dream ended with him waking up hours later, exhausted and sweating. He went out for a walk to clear his head. But when he returned, he found his door wide open – and that was only the beginning of his demonic experience. He’d go on to witness many of the signs on this list: the loud bangs, the shadows, and even two red eyes staring back at him in the darkness.
There are many other cases of people believed to be suffering from demonic oppression who also experience sleep paralysis, or waking up to the sight of dark figures in their room and a terrible smell.

However, demonic dreams don’t necessarily have to involve actual encounters with demons. They may be apocalyptic in nature, visions of terrible events, or vivid lucid dreams of horrific experiences.

5. Damage to Religious.

demons don’t take kindly to holy symbols. They may attempt to destroy crucifixes, Bibles, rosaries, or other religious artifacts. They may damage anything they view as a threat against their presence.

In practice, for example, you may witness a hanging crucifix knocked off the wall.

6. The Smell of Demons

the most common signs of a demon infestation is a terrible, putrid smell. The scent of decomposition, or rotting eggs (sulfur) The scent of death.

This smell occurs, some say, when the demon is upset, or when the area they are inhabiting has been blessed or cleansed.

The smell of ghosts is said to often be something familiar, such as perfume or a certain brand of cigar. In other words, non-offensive. A demonic smell, in contrast, will be pungent, and will remind you of rotten things: garbage, spoiled food, rotting meat, or even feces.
