Well done Obiano for using experienced contractor not your usual local connection. All the good projects built in the state were built by experienced contractors. About the stadium realize that it is a FIFA goal project and is therefore a Mini-Stadium. I am glad they are putting a running track around it.hey should also endeavour to create access roads to help remove the tremendous gridlock one sees at the Eke Awka area including extending Igwebuike Road all the way to join roads connecting to Court Road and the roads leading to Kwatta junction. This will help:
1) Allow traffic coming from Unizik Junction to connect to the Court of Appeal and bypass the Market entirely
2) Allow traffic coming from Works Road/Amawbia/Enugwu-Ukwu to bypass the market and get to the stadium easily
3) Ease the bottleneck of traffic that piles up at the junction of Court Road and Works Road.

Good job. Quality projects

Rocksvibes234:
According to Anambra Broadcasting Service, The assurance that the airport will be completed next year was given when Governor Willie Obiano inspected progress of work on the project which was commissioned about one month ago by his administration.
Governor Obiano who said that the Stadium is a FIFA recognized project, expressed joy that a new dawn is on in the state.
According to the Chairman of Sports Development Commission, Chief Tony Oli, the two male and female Anambra football teams called Anambra Bombers and Anambra Babes will play the maiden edition of their match on 28 December 2020, adding that sports has started to assum its rightful position.

The Contractor of the project, Mr Ebi Egbe, who is a FIFA agent, was on ground to take the Governor round the facility.

If you can't find what he has achieved, then bring your father to contest election, he is old enough to contest elections. Or open your own thread to discuss about your father there, since you are angry about the discussion trend here, it doesn't cost a kobo to open a thread on this forum, it's free.

martinect2803:
For what purpose or what do you intend to achieve with that? Is he coming for 3rd term? Now is the time to start questioning the antecedents of those that want to contest, and not to be here chasing shadows.f that is the case, I don't see why Wilberforce will be the topic of discussion on this thread. Start from the beginning of the thread till now, it has been how Wilberforce has been the best thing to happen to Anambra State, yet you can't point to 3 projects commissioned in the 3 senatorial units this 2020.He is not coming for 3rd term, but we need to see what he has done. He made budget this year, we need to know if it the resources were used as stipulated.
And please, 17months is a hell of a time, that is what he still have to be in office, a lot can be achieved in that time. expect to be abused and called names, but I will rather have the projects shown to me.

Mkstinks, I am your nightmare. Mkstinks, you stink like cow dung. When are you cursed demonic frustrated hopeless worthless useless tout gonna bring your useless father to contest elections. Mktinsight we can't wait for your hopeless father to declare like other men are doing.

Obiano has done so well in infrastructure, education, health, agriculture, human resources, etc. For your information, I am.based in Anambra, right here in Awka. So stop guessing about my location, am driven by passion to dismantle your lies and witchcraft posts, I am not a thug like you that is being paid to come and camp here to lie to yourself.

Obiano has done excellent flyovers, constructed roads to our oil fields and refinery sites. It takes a man with vision to achieve that.

Obiano is the best governor in Nigeria. If it pains you so much then use dagger to stab yourself to death. You remain a rejected person mktinsight, cry and die. cool

[s]
mktinsight:
oneeast is chino the PH-based tout who is being paid by Obiano to trump up his record of mediocre performance. The picture he showed from three angles is the road that leads to Ekwueme Square that was built by Peter Obi. Disagree and he abuses you, your mother, father and your family. But one cannot hide the truth. Obiano has a poor record vs Obi. He spent more on decorating the flyovers in Awka than making sure they were functional - i.e. such that heavy duty vehicles would bypass local traffic. Instead its heavy duty vehicles that cause regular traffic jam at the underpass. Contrast that to the flyover Obi built at New Tarzan.Or compare the less than 3KM Amansea-Amawbia section Obiano built in Awka to the 3KM section from headbridge to Awka Road
junction. Obi built a standard expressway with 3 lanes and a service lane in BOTH DIRECTIONS. What did Obiano build? A 2 lane expressway with no service lanes going to Enugu and an uncompleted expressway the other wayObi tarred hundreds of roads throughout the state. Obiano cannot boast of the same. He spent the vast amount of capital expenditure on bridges to remote, underpopulated parts of the state. Obiano on the bright side attracted a lot of investment but the state risks losing that with crumbling city roads and disorganized roads and markets everywhere.

Stop being emotional this old woman. Which one is Julius beggar standard biko? The important this is to construct durable road. Anambra has the best road networks traversing all over the state and not just the urban centres. These are some of the roads completed by Obiano. Some he met at zero percent, some at 20%, some at 50%. So stop spewing nonsense if you don't have your facts. I may not have all the pictures here right but Obiano has done so well all round.

On a visit to the int’l conference centre, i remember Obiano asking interested investors to consider investing in the 5-start hotel planned for centre!

This is where the likes of Prince Arthur Eze (purportedly the wealthiest Anambran to ever walk the face of the earth) could invest a little part of his multi-billion dollar fortune....instead of using it cause trouble in the state or storing it in the bank for his kids to squabble over latter!

Arthur is far from being even among the top 5 richest men in Anambra. Arthur is a noisemaker, that makes a lot loud noise that one would think he is that rich.

There are many silent billionaires like ABC Orjiako, Allen Onyema, Nestoil, Emeka Offor, even Oilserv and Innoson, etc. These people and many more I can't remember now are likely far richer than noisy Arthur that only sell crude oil and use the money to start making noise. Arthur has no single running business, once federal government takes away his oil block, he is down and out.

That's why he always romance every government in power. Immediately Buhari won in 2015, Arthur dropped GEJ like hot potato and quickly moved to APC, just so he could maintain hold on his oil block.

You yapping rubbish. Obiano has done so well in infrastructures, education, healthcare, human capital development, hospitality etc' I score him high in those areas. Aside Abuja,, Awka is today the fastest developing city in Nigeria courtesy of Obiano.

ICC is worldclass and about the best in Nigeria. Anambra international airport is equally another capital project that is set to out stage every other airport in Nigeria except maybe Lagos and Abuja.

Anambra leads the rest of east in all economic indices, GDP, HDI, etc.

We are seeing influx of investments in Anambra, from real estate to manufacturing to food processing to agriculture etc.

If you have a candidate in.mind campaign for him and stop yapping unfounded rubbish just to market your candidate.

@christejames:

The current condition of Enugu airport is a sorry sight and not befitting a state like Enugu which is over 100yrs, when other states created same time with it like Kano, Kaduna, Rivers, etc, all have befitting functional international airports.

Why can't the present government in Enugu do something to at least give Enugu state a befitting airport, since it has become clear that the airport is more or less a state airport.

What has Enugu state done in areas of bringing investments and industrialisation to the state? The state cannot continue to be a civil servants state, when other states created same time with it have all become major economic power houses. What will be the situation of Enugu state when this country is restructured economically?

Enugu state should start preparing for the post oil derivation economy, because it won't be long before this country is restructured and every state will have to depend on what it can produce to survive, either natural resources, industrialisation etc.

Away from Mkstinks rhetorics, let's discuss something more pressing.Won't it be nice if Obiano at least cut the sod for the construction of the proposed new Three Arm Zone (TAZ) before bowing out honourably? then the succeeding government can complete it.I don't know if the proposed TAZ would be located in the new Awka Millennium City or around that area; it will be nice if it's around that area juxtaposing AMC though.Anambra as a state needs a better structure as a government house than what she is currently occupying and a state assembly complex for her current growing national status. The present assembly complex is a defect for that status. Some states have embarked on such projects and are already making use of them, of notable mentions are Delta, Bayelsa, and Ebonyi states.

You are a demon, so what's your business if we build the airport in one month. Why are you worried so much about what doesn't concern you. You have never spoken well of the airport even before it's construction started. Why are you desperately interested in the project's completion timeline.

Mktinsight, our international airport shall be delivered soon, go and die somewhere. You have failed and continued to fail. Miserable frustrated fellow.

[s]
mktinsight:
Building a residential building is not the same as building a complex public works project like an airport or a bridge. It's a function of the complexity. Second Niger Bridge requires complex work on the water. Once that is done the rest goes according to schedule. An airport runway takes time to get right otherwise you end up with the ubbish built at Asaba. In the tropics the major issue is ensuring strength, alignment and good drainage. Engineers only have 8 months realistically to work externally. It is why roads take twice as long than elsewhere. A 3.4 km road takes the better part of a year in Nigeria talk less runway that requires ILS and taxiway. At best just getting the runway fit for take off and landing will take 24-36 months.
