I disagree with you. The only thing Umuahia has over Awka is just those road did by Mbakwe. Asides that Awka has more economic activities, more hospitality industry, even has more modern edifices than Umahia. In fact the number of Duplexes in Awka alone is more than thrice what we have in Umahia. Awka also has decent and well planned housing estates which Umahia lacks.

On the issue of infrastructural development Awka is getting it right with the massive work ongoing.

cjrane:

Yes Umuahia is more developed than Awka .
Aba and Nnewi have more industries than Onitsha.

But, Onitsha has more commercial activity than Aba and nnewi

Comparing Abriba and Igberre axis to nnewi is missing the point because Nnewi is bigger than both combined. Now,this is not to under-estimate the wealth of people in this axis. Your comparison will be better to compare Abriba to Oraukwu, Nnobi,Ichida or Enugu-ukwu/Abagana area.

Ubakala can be comparable to Ozubulu and Oba axis in terms of being close to a major urban center and having some impressive urban transformation.

Arochukwu can be comparable to Isuofia or Okoh. Since Ekwulobia or Ihiala are way bigger and more populous. I have stated the facts as i have been to these areas many times.

What do they move to the place to do? Nothing..which means nobody moves to the place. What you have there is loiterers and loafers without economic value.

asha80:
people move to owerri but not necessarily for biz activities..quit the ignorance abeg.

cheesy cheesy cheesy cheesy cheesy

We have created these thread so that each state will be on their own. Have you seen me on Enugu thread? No..unless I am called upon but until then I will remain here. The only reason you see me on Imo thread is because abagworo always come here so I retaliate on his Imo thread. I only say things about Abia when you hook off the chain. You can't attack us because we are leading the pack in the SE..okcheesy

Now could run to Abia thread now. cheesy cheesy

B2mario:

Ok sir, if you keep to your promise have my word that I'll never attack you and Anambra state again.

But one more thing, never you and Odenigbo derail Enugu and Owerri threads again or make wrong reference to any Abia cities.
Politics / Re: Anambra light of the nation, eastern economy power house. by oneeast: 8:02pm On Dec 07, 2014
How many times shall it be said to you..Abia state is on its kneels submerged in filth and bad roads so there is nothing to talk about there. Besides I have changed the title for you so that posting your pictures there.. cheesy

B2mario:

Chineke mi ee! My perception about Anambra people is changing oo, i thought all of them behave like Chinonso, odenigbo, ACM10 and co. So there are truthful persons among them?

This was the impression i always wanted to correct, always saying that their cities are better than all igbo cities.

Pls, crane, presher rest this case, what of Umuahia and Awka, Aba and Onitsha, Abiriba and Nnewi?
Politics / Re: Anambra light of the nation, eastern economy power house. by oneeast: 8:00pm On Dec 07, 2014
Yes you were born there but with the level of unwholesome activities in that town I cannot consider it sane. It is equally not a suitable place to raise a family, that is why you hardly hear people moving to Owerre. These are some of the reasons its economy is stagnated.

asha80:
pics mean nothing..i know owerri like the back of my hand like someone who grew up there is supposed to and also visit...owerri is saner and has better inner roads..end of
Politics / Re: Anambra light of the nation, eastern economy power house. by oneeast: 7:58pm On Dec 07, 2014
You have to start by changing the skewed mentality of an average Owerre person. They believe in littering their town with brothels and chalets. Those thing does not grow the economy of any state. They need to think out of the box. Even Enugu state has good number of real economic activities and industries that adds to its economy.

cjrane:

Always thinking oil is our big problem.
Two things Imo state must work towards is setting up a refinery and other petrochemical factories using our oil and gas resources in Imo state to create a local oil services economy in Owerri
2. Developing the Oguta lake tourism potential.
We could start with offering River cruises for tourists in the comfort of a cruise ship from Oguta lake to Onitsha and back to Oguta lake resort hotel.

You are talking from internet perspective as somebody in America. Owerre is littered with bad roads and dirty environment. I have pictures to prove you wrong. Forget all that you read on the internet, make time and come home and tour round the SE.

cjrane:

True,
Nnewi and Onitsha have more economic activities than Owerri. I can even say that Orlu may have more economic activities than Owerri.
But Owerri has the best inner city road network than all these cities.
....and that is an indisputable fact.

If Rochas completes the Owerri ring road system between Ikenegbu and Federal low cost housing, even Enugu will struggle to beat Owerri in internal road network.
Politics / Re: Anambra light of the nation, eastern economy power house. by oneeast: 7:47pm On Dec 07, 2014
Anambra is a monolithic state. It is as simple as that.cool
Politics / Re: Anambra light of the nation, eastern economy power house. by oneeast: 7:42pm On Dec 07, 2014
You don't tell me where to follow. The last I visited Aba was like 3yrs ago..so this time I decided to pass through Aba en route to Akwaibom just to get a first hand information..

B2mario:

You still fail it Mr. Man, why not the portharcourt/Bori/mkpat enin/Abak/Uyo road?
Have you seen that you always lie?
Politics / Re: Anambra light of the nation, eastern economy power house. by oneeast: 7:39pm On Dec 07, 2014
There is nothing sane about Owerre. In a town where commercial se/x hawking is an order of the day cannot be a sane environment to raise a family. I have not seen anybody that moves to Owerre. But I have lost count on number people that have moved from Owerre to Onitsha. Owerre is a horrible place to raise a family. Raise 5 girls in Owerre and 3 will be a roadsider. That is just the fact. So what is sane about the place?

asha80:
gguy forget..owerri is saner than onitsha period.
Politics / Re: Anambra light of the nation, eastern economy power house. by oneeast: 7:30pm On Dec 07, 2014
I am not talking of the major thoroughfares like Upper Iweka but the innerhood like this below. I want to see a serene hoods with decent houses and roads. In that sense Owerre is a learner.

cjrane:

Bro,
I am only here to state the facts. Not on any side because i hate this argument.
But Owerri has better inner city roads than Onitsha and that is an indisputable fact.

Politics / Re: Anambra light of the nation, eastern economy power house. by oneeast: 7:27pm On Dec 07, 2014
Stop talking rubbish because stats shows that 1/4th of Imo state population are living in Onitsha today. So what is your point? Onitsha is not all high-rise, there are different neighborhoods in Onitsha. Those high-rise areas are pure for the low and middle class while the low density areas are for the rich and supper rich. Onitsha and Nnewi hosts most millionnaires in the East today..why is that?

Today nothing meaningful takes anybody to Owerre. There is no single economic activity taking place in Owerre of over 40yrs.

Abagworo:

We are saying same thing. Landmass is not same as population. I dont personaly like the Igbotic houses and thats why I cant live in those places with funny 4 storey buildings.

When you have 400 people living in 400 square feet in Aba/Onitsha and 50 people living in same 400 square feet in Enugu/Owerri why would a sane wealthy person live in a choked up environment?
Politics / Re: Anambra light of the nation, eastern economy power house. by oneeast: 7:23pm On Dec 07, 2014
Oga your request has been done. Nobody will derail your thread I promise you. Just go in there now and start bombarding it with pictures..

B2mario:

Economic and commercial power house of the East, simple!

And let you and your folk don't derail it.
Politics / Re: Anambra light of the nation, eastern economy power house. by oneeast: 7:18pm On Dec 07, 2014
Where are the roads because I pass the place every now and then. There are no roads there, do not be deceived by the selected pix abagowor throws about. Owerre is a very dirty place with shabby houses.

cjrane:

Oga Chino,
I beg to differ!
Owerri has better inner city roads than Onitsha.
Fact!
Politics / Re: Anambra light of the nation, eastern economy power house. by oneeast: 7:11pm On Dec 07, 2014
Apart from the good major road in Onitsha, its innerhood roads beats everything Owerre can offer. Onitsha is a well planned city with different districts with different types of houses. Below is Onitsha serene low density hood, Owerre cannot even boast of a similar place.

Abagworo:

Onitsha is better today only on the ecpressway from Asaba to Owerri via Upper Iweka. The rest is just exactly same Igbotic houses on dirty roads in both cities.

Politics / Re: Anambra light of the nation, eastern economy power house. by oneeast: 7:04pm On Dec 07, 2014
Take your stats away from here. Onitsha market is the largest in the whole of the West African sub region you can take that to the bank. Onitsha is more or less a mega city because it has grown into other towns and communities.

Abagworo:

Aba is much larger than Onitsha in landmass. Onitsha is same size as Owerri. We have google earth that clarifies things. In the Southeast Aba has the largest landmass followed closely by Enugu. Ariaria is bigger than all those markets combined. Simply go to google earth and check things for yourself. Onitsha area is more populated than Aba area but Onitsha is much smaller than Aba.

Lemme tell you I have a business interest in Ph, so each time I take off from Awka I usually branch off in Ph then continue my journey to Akwaibom via Aba-Ph road.

B2mario:

Liar, have you seen it? You did not go anywhere. So you were going to Akwa ibom from Anambra and you took Aba instead of umuahia/ikot-ekpene road?

Pls next time save yourself the time and take the right route.

https://www.nairaland.com/2033126/welcome-abia-state-gods-own

B2mario:

Look at Idiot oo. Do you know that you have not given me any meaningful reply, you are just repeating yourself with lies?

How is Aba Smaller than Onitsha while stats has it that Aba has over 1.2million population and it's the largest city in SE and the 8th in the country while Onitsha has just 500,000 population.

In terms of hotels and recreational centers, Aba has much number of hotels in SE and SS it can only compete with Owerri. So pls make use of your information search engine well.
Politics / Re: Few Pics From Imo State by oneeast: 6:38pm On Dec 07, 2014
Abagworo should be made to focus on his state rather than looking for trouble elsewhere. You people should cage him,,if he is not from Imo state then issue a disclaimer.

millionaireman:

Chill out, that Abagworo fellow is not Imo state, and Imo state is not Abagworo. Imo state is larger than some people think.

So be constructive with your posts pls.

Go through this thread I never insulted his state until the boy b2mario arrived with his madness. But I want to assure him that he has met his match today. I will suggest that each state have their own thread so that everybody should mind their business. My mom and dad are all from Anambra and my wife is equally from Anambra. What does that mean to you?

presher:
bro criticism is a good thing, but i know they have scores to settle with u ,am from ajalli in anambra state but my paternal cousins are from ujari in abia state where i trace my origin to.if i insult abia state i am insulting my self,we are all brothers, udo
Politics / Re: Anambra light of the nation, eastern economy power house. by oneeast: 6:24pm On Dec 07, 2014
I have been to Aba recently at least in the last 3 weeks en route to Akwa-Ibom. Take it from a brother, Aba is a disaster to say the least. If it were before I would have created a thread out it but I choose not to to save Abia people from that embarrassment. There is no government presence in Aba not state, not federal. I can't wish my enemy what I saw in Aba. It is worth crying for.

B2mario:

All these things you are saying are what your heard on Nairaland. Who said that Aba does not have a single motorable road?

Hmmmm, I'm laughing oo
Politics / Re: Anambra light of the nation, eastern economy power house. by oneeast: 6:21pm On Dec 07, 2014

Politics / Re: Anambra light of the nation, eastern economy power house. by oneeast: 6:15pm On Dec 07, 2014
No amount of feel good comment can change the facts on the ground. Accept it or leave it Aba is a disaster. I am yet to see anywhere that can be compared to Aba in terms of bad roads, dirty environment, water-logged neighborhoods, mosquitos etc.

I have my reasons when I call Aba a 'hellfire'. Am sorry but I have to be blunt.

Onitsha on the other hand is the gateway city to the East with mall, 5 star Raddison Blu hospitality center, Port facility, largest trading center in West Africa with the highest cashflow in the SE.

Stop talking about Aba because it is a rural area. There is no good place in Aba, the town is completely submerged in dirty water and dirty environment. There is no single motorable road in Aba. Aba reprsent everything that is bad. Stop trying to make yourself feel good because I will be here to put it to you exactly the way it is.. cheesy

[s]
B2mario:

Child have you gone to Aba before? if Onitsha is having the problem of untarred roads then believe me that Onitsha is worse than Aba, the problem of Aba is that it has grown beyond it's initial masterplan and needs another drainage system. I was in Onitsha last Friday and I'm telling you the truth, Onitsha is turning more archaic day after day. The city does not have a good look, a good masterplan like it's Aba counterpart, the roads there are narrow and are not wide like the Aba roads.

I can't deny that Onitsha has 2 overhead bridges popularly known as flyover while Aba has none.

Travel and see things by yourself, stop acting on heresy. If you can be proud to tell people on this forum that Onitsha is organised and neat then believe me that Aba is a London. Beside all of us are igbos i can't lie against any igbo city, Aba and Onitsha are being neglected but Aba still has some good places than Onitsha. And also bear in mind that despite the present condition of the 2 cities they are still better than many Nigeria cities and town.
